Hey friends, I already talked to Talomyr about it, but turns out balancing 7 games is rough once summer break ends and work picks up. I've clearly been slacking as Meebo, and most of you have seen how Witchlight has slowed down on my part, lol. So I am trimming things down a smidge and benching Meebo.

Not gonna stop the games I am DMing so no worries there, but I haven't had the time to give my gnome the attention she needs, and it stresses me out not staying caught up with things. So I am bowing out of this game. If you're all still going strong come next summer, perhaps she will fall out of a ventilation shaft or something =) But for now, see you in the Feywild. (and some of you at Sea... and some of you in a Jungle... And one of you in Thistletop... O.O)

Meebo flipped the safety cover off the activation button on her fire pack. "I can't promise anything in that room will survive to be looted, if I burn up all the mold. But if you're sure..."

Despite seemingly asking, Meebo didn't wait for someone to talk her down. The pack charged with a high pitched whine, and then thwump thwump thwump bolt after bolt of fiery death rained down upon the mold from afar.

I can roll if you want, but it's a cantrip so eventually I'll get it all. =D

Meebo held onto Myev's leg as the floor trembled, then looked at the buttons in even more awe than before. "That is the neatest thing ever. Do you guys think these people will want to stay down here, after we take out Zargon? Because I could see them frowning on me disassembling that panel to see how they managed to construct this place, but I really really want to." She followed closely behind Myev as the larger woman moved north.

Meebo listened to the conversation, unable to see a thing past everyone else's legs. It sounded like it was going well, so she did the best thing she could to help, and kept her hands far away from all of her gadgets.

Meebo spends a minute or so peering at the buttons, hoping to ascertain the purpose of them, but without labels the task proves beyond her. And people LIVE down here, she though wryly, shaking her head. What a weird place.

Meebo found herself intensely curious about what would happen if Utsuri had turned it the other direction -- so much so that her fingers were twitching. But she bit her lip and refrained from voicing such. If she suggested trying it, her strange new friend would likely give it a go -- and if something bad happened as a result it would be Meebo's fault. So she contented herself with letting her imagination run wild with potential results.

Meebo, battering her device, finally aimed the nozzle away from her friends as a high pitched whine grew within, and just in time, as a relatively massive ball of flames shot out towards the last beetle.

Meebo steps into the room, making a grossed out face at the dead beetle beside her. She charges up her fire lobber again, and sends a blast at the remaining beetle, though her aim is a bit off and the glob that emerges is pitiful and weak.

Tek is nearly knocked over as Meebo rushes forward to look into the open crates, her eyes as wise as saucers. "Oh , sorry!" she exclaimed, helping steady him momentarily before returning her complete attention to the goodies. "We are taking ALL of this."

Her pack already full of gears and bits, she removes a few to make room for the fireworks.

Meebo gave a shrug. "Hi! How are you? Do you understand me?" she asked in Common. She then repeated the phrase in gnomish. Many gnomes dwelt among fey folk, it was worth a try. "Sulsul! Bloo bagoo? Cuh teekaloo?"

Yeah it is tricky! We had the same issue in my Age of Ashes game, the citadel they explored was like a million endless doors. I think what we ended up doing was we got into a set routine, with the person or two taking the lead being snappy with the checks. Big long hallways with no traps I would just narratively skip through, describing the group traveling to the next part that mattered. Basically if there was no danger in opening a door I assumed the rolls happened and they checked but didn't wait for it.

Not so bad irl because it goes fast, and not at all your fault DM, just the nature of the PBP dungeon crawl. You're doing a great job!

Meebo looks skeptical. "So you just ask...and it happens? But how? I mean like say I cut my arm. You ask Lathander to help me out, and do your mojo...what's actually happening, like in my arm? Is Lathander giving me new skin? Does he just speed up time locally to exaggerate my own healing processes? Or maybe reverse it to how it was before the injury? That could work, actually.." Not actually expecting an answer, she wandered off, muttering to herself about localized temporal fields and accelerated mitosis, whatever that was.

Meebo doesn't see any devices yet, so she just keeps tagging along behind Myev. She looks up at Silas. "That was pretty great, what you did. Helping Utsuri, I mean. How does it work, exactly?"

Meebo can prepare cure wounds going forward, too, and help out. It is on her spell list. I just didn't think to take it. She can see how dangerous this place is and whip up a dermal regenerator, star trek style.

"Devices?" Meebo's head shoots up, Kanadius sudden having her complete attention. "Which way are they?"

Meebo nodded her agreement with Myev and smiled widely at Baheera. She was fiddling with her contraptions. Now that they were stuck in a hidden temple pyramid thing, several of them seemed less usful than before, so she was re-kajiggering several of them to new purposes, using some of the old gears she'd scavenged to help.

They'd probably find weird things down here, so she kept the device that would help her figure out what they were for. With the traps they'd run into so far, her parachute also seemed prudent. But her catapult was better for long ranges, and not tunnels and small rooms. And they were in a safe enough place, it seemed, that she didn't feel the perimeter alarms necessary.

She altered the alarm sensors into a handheld device that would detect magic, rather than intruders. She also fiddled with her fire pack -- not taking it apart, but adding a secondary function to the spray hose that would shoot fey magics at enemies and make them glow. Easier to see in dark ruins, that way.

Meebo doesn't eat much, ever, not needing that many calories to sustain her small figure, so she nopes right out on the beetle steaks. She considers voicing the ingredients, but Myev and the others will need their strength. Better they not think about what they're eating, if they're squeamish. Still, the mushrooms are really good! And she has jerky in her pack for later, if need be.

"Innovation." She states the word as if it is self explanatory, then takes the time to chew before elaborating. "You guys have been working on the problem too long. Can't make headway. So maybe if we come waltzing in with some fresh ideas, we can find a way to get rid of Zardoz or Zargon or whatever for you." That's right. Just end a little age old curse in a buried temple city by removing a tentacle god from power while navigating a weird theocratic political landscape. What could be hard about that?

Meebo tried to recall an old saying she'd heard, something about one brush stroke too many ruining a masterpiece. She didn't think anything she said would make their introduction any better, so she affected her best cute, harmless look and hoped that behind the masks these people were not hobgoblins, or Tek's last sentence would land pretty differently.

Meebo poked her head between Myev's knees to peer into the room. "Bees! Bah, if I had time I might be able to make something that'd smoke up the room and make them fall asleep or whatever smoke does to bees, but I don't have anything on me that'd work," she whispered.

Meebo has been distracted, following along while inspecting some of her salvaged goods, but the sudden familiar commonness of a bedroom in the midst of these weird ruins brings her out of her own head.

What was this place, anyway? Out here, in the middle of the desert. Weird old machinery and traps. And now there was some guy's bedroom? Who would live out here? What were they doing here? She mulled over what she knew of the area's history, from her studies, before she'd been expelled.

"I'm good!" she said cheerfully. She was clearly straining a bit, but few things made her as happy as new parts for new toys, so she was embracing the small silver lining around being stranded in trapped, beetle-infested ruins in the middle of the desert.

Meebo ignored any signs of further danger and made a beeline to the northern scrap pile, poking through the gears and parts with keen interest, seeing if any of it looked like something she could use to build with and wondering what it used to be for. Was this a big machine that was destroyed? A trash heap? Something else?

"Myev, look out for those beetles! We should try killing them from up here, before we go down." The impatient gnome flipped on her flamethrower, which emitted a high pitched whine, closing one eye as she took preliminary aim...right past her friend's upturned face.

Can Meebo get line of sight on the green beetle without flambé-ing Myev? Will roll in case the answer is yes, disregard if it'd hurt her.

"Sometimes simpler is better." She poked around for a stone, and if she couldn't find one to her liking, she'd use the small hammer and chisel in her tinker's kit to break a chunk off from the ruins. A couple of good thwacks to break it into a mildly wedge-like shape, and she'd try hammering it into the door frame to keep the door open, placing a few larger stones in the path of the door just in case the wedge failed.

Meebo saw Silas excavating himself and went to help, handing her waterskin over in knowing sympathy as he expelled the sand. "There you are! At all least that's one bit of good news.". She pat him in the back while he sat and coughed.

When Myev approached the ruins Meebo shadowed her. Upon seeing the body she frowned and tugged on Myev's leg to wait a moment. "I'll bet it's trapped. Let me take a look.". The gnome got out a kit of tools that included a mirror on a stick and a pole with a prehensile end that could bend and rotate to click things, like a long distance lockpick. She inspected the bolt that killed the creature and looked for any openings one might fire from, or slabs that might be pressure plates.

If she finds something she'll attempt to disable it.

Meebo follows Myev, but hearing her words makes the gnome uncomfortable and she starts doing an inventory of her equipment to distract herself. She wasn't good with losing people, and while she agreed with Myev's offer of mercy, she didn't want to think about it.

Meebo spat out a mouthful of sand, then stuck her tongue out and used the side of a finger to repeatedly scrape it clean. She shook like a dog and sand rained from her hair.

"Ugggh there's gonna be grit in my teeth for days. Let's not do deserts anymore, huh? Thanks." She looked around, blinking a lot as she was finding sand got into her eyes as well. "Oh wow...things look worse than I thought. Did we lose anyone?"
