Female Half-Elf Rogue 1 [Hitpoints: 11/11, Nonlethal Taken: 0]
"Professor, you treated me right when noone else would. I got much closer to my goals thanks to you, and the coin was never bad. May Pharasma take kindly to you." Maya thinks to herself. Maya, hiding in the shadow of a tree a few yards away from the other attendees, remains quiet and listens to the speakers. Maya definitely would not like to speak at the podium. If asked, she will shake her head respectfully and try to "pass the buck" to someone else.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 "Ladies and gentlemen, have we succumbed that quickly to rumors and old wive's tales in Ustlav! Is this the mettle of its people? This man is one of us, and he deserves to be buried along with his fellow men of Ravengro. And as our fine friend has already explained, his burial has been approved by the Father." "I for one do not fear these tales. What say you old man, doesn't every man deserve his rest, peaceful slumber while Pharasma takes his soul to the Boneyard? Don't deny this man his final resting place." I'm more interested in aiding Korvus on his diplomacy. If not possible you can treat me as a separate roll Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 7

"My, what a peculiar set of individuals we have here. Two orcs, one who seems to have traveled quite far to get here, and another dressed in finer silks that the best ones I have stolen in the past. It's like perfect juxtapositions. The Professor sure had some strange acquaintances." After hiding under the tree silent for long enough, the half-elven woman pulls her raincloak a bit tighter and says calmly to Kendra "Lady Lorrimor, I am a bit stronger than you may think, and will volunteer to carry your father. Looks like this human fellow can use a hand." Maya lets out a slight smirk towards Dantrian.

Maya finds herself leaning against a tree, arms crossed, trying to asses the situation from afar. She is observing the clergymen, attempting to get a glance of the body in the coffin. She looks behind her shoulder momentarily, making sure noone is watching her. A strange half-orc steps up to ask questions and she is intrigued. "Heh, this guy must be new around here", she thought to herself.

Hi everyone. Mundane items purchased, sheet updated:
~31gp leftover GM Atmos, as a half-elf would you like me to declare my second favored class now or do it when/if I multiclass?
regarding feedback: I would like to think that Maya and The professor got close enough in their relationship to go a bit beyond "business partners". I would see Lorrimor seeing her somewhat as a student, trying to help her behind on the background on why the Sczarni want her dead. Maya sees Lorrimor as somewhat of a father figure, although she would never admit to it to anyone. He has been the only person in Ustlav that has offered to help her so far without having a secondary motive for her.
The melee stat block was clarified. She owns three Short Swords, two regular and one silver. She has one main hand and one off hand attack. Silver short sword is a backup weapon. (HeroLabs likes to put it there anyway).
Hi Atomos, I have been looking for a Carrion Crown game to give Maya a try. Current stat block on her profile reflects a 20 point buy, but otherwise I'd leave her the same. Her back story: Maya earned the name of "The Edge" some years ago while working for the Sczarni in Ustlav. She joined the organization at a young age, rising in the ranks and going to the jobs no-one would take. That is at least until some years ago. The Sczarni wanted Maya to steal an eccentric item from a house. However, the client was not a patient fellow, and had hired multiple guilds to steal the artifact at the same time. When she arrived at the scene, three thieves had already entered the house and were all attempting to retrieve their mark viciously. Maya was able to sneak past the commotion, and found the artifact before the rest of the infiltrators. Sadly, the escape was not as easy. The last surviving thieves, noticing Maya's entry into the vaults, had teamed up together to kill her in order to stop "that woman" from leaving with the relic. Maya knew that there was no way around a fight, but she came prepared. With her short sword and dagger, she was able to cut through these thieves with relative ease. They didn't call her "the edge" for no reason... Blood splattered the floors outside the vaults. Maya took them both out, but not without suffering pretty heavy wounds herself. Cleaning her face up, she noticed a note in one of the thief's hands. Not a note... but a contract. A contract for Maya's head, and it was commissioned by her own guild! One of the Sczarni higher-ups was trying to get her out of the way... Before she could make more sense about what she just discovered, a door flung open revealing an older gentleman. He had a surprise look on his face, as he realized what had transpired in his house. Maya had no will left to dispose of this man, and was not paid to do so. She is no senseless assassin. The man stepped into the room, stood pensive for a moment and simply said: "My, looks like you need some help. May I provide you with some?" Maya knew that in these parts, help usually came with a price. He introduced himself as Professor Lorrimor, and he offered Maya not just assistance, but the offer of hiring her for her services in the future. Over the years, the professor paid handsomely for these "private contracts," and Maya was able to use her free time to discover more information on why the Sczarni wanted to off her. Nothing would stop Maya from learning the truth behind her betrayal. But she recently got a message from her old patron. Or at least, his estate. She was to present herself to his house for the reading of his will, where her name was mentioned... Thanks for the consideration!

Maya is thinking about doing Dirty Fighter, as it fits her ideals and "flanker" profile, as well as Making Good on Promises. This last one fits her backstory very well, as she has done many jobs for Lorrimor. Maybe one of these missions went awry and she needs to make good on the job now. Without metagaming too much, I might pick up a silver dagger or two. Nothing crazy like eastern weaps or armor from UC methinks.
Hi Creel,
------ As a player,
2: How do you see your character developing both in terms of mechanics and in role play?
3: Do you feel able to commit to attempting the entire AP?
4: Is there anything you want to ask us?
As your character,
B: Why did you miss the funeral?
C: Why are you currently in or very near the local church to Pharasma?
D: Why do you care what happens to a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere?
E: What are you afraid of?
Backstory Draft: Maya earned the name of "The Edge" some years ago while working for the Sczarni in Ustlav. She joined the organization at a young age, rising in the ranks and going on the jobs no-one would take. That is at least until some months ago. The Sczarni wanted Maya to steal an eccentric item from a certain house. However, the client was not a patient fellow, and had hired multiple guilds to steal the artifact at the same time. When she arrived at the scen, three thieves had already entered the house and were all attempting to retrieve their mark viciously. Maya was able to sneak past the commotion, and found the artifact before the rest of the infiltrators. Sadly, the escape was not as easy. The last two surviving thieves, noticing Maya's entry into the vaults, had teamed up together to kill her in order to stop "that woman" from leaving with the relic. Maya knew that there was no way around a fight, but she came prepared. With her short sword and dagger, she was able to cut through these thieves with relative ease. They didn't call her "the edge" for no reason... Blood splattered the floors outside the vaults. A door came open and she saw a man. She poised to strike, but he raised his hand asking her to stop the attack. The man introduced himself as Professor Lorrimor, and he confessed to being the client that contracted the different guilds to come steal his relic. He wanted to find a rogue good enough to do private jobs for him, and this day it had been Maya. The professor paid handsomely for Maya's services, but her "private contracts" were upsetting the Sczarni operatives. A few weeks ago the Sczarni declared Maya an outcast for spending more time doing private jobs than helping the organization, and put a hit out for her for treason. Her contacts informed her in time, and she was able to flee and hide in the more rural areas of Ustlav. She recently got a message from her old patron. Or at least, his estate. She was to present herself to his house for the reading of his will, where her name was mentioned... |
