About Marian Rejewski Tarnshiav

Marian Rejewski Tarnshiav is a descendent of the House of Tarnshiav. Expelled from their natural home in Dyinglight at the onset of the Worldwound, the House of Tarnshiav has relocated to the Shadow Spring region. Originally human, the demonic entities of the Worldwound have corrupted Marian and his family. Throughout the decades and centuries the proud lineage of the family has become more demonic, twisted into Teiflings despite a pure human heritage.

As is custom, Marian was given the maiden name of his mother as a middle name. In this way the Tarnshiav house pays respect to those willing to accept a life of secrecy, austerity, and hostility. Demonic raids, constant relocation, and the hope for some sort of future are hallmarks of life in the Shadow Springs. Militant training is an essential aspect of survival, with academic pursuits providing the slightest reprieve from a life of extreme discipline.

When he was born, Marian displayed the progressive influence of the Worldwound on house Tarnshiav. Increasingly more demonic, his black skin had grooves making dark runes and glyphs all over his body. His hair came in as wavy locks of blood red, looking like a flowing wound from his head. His dark eyes had the increased sensitivity to darkness now commonplace in youths, but his long twisted tail was the first of its kind. Other offspring had stubby tails or scaly hides, but Marian had a long coiled tail ending in a split fork like the tongue of a serpent. As he grew, this tail became flexible and controlled like another appendage, but his body remained frail and weak.
