Malik moves out of the room and waits for the others.

Malik is confused and having the beginning of self doubt since he can not help his companions. Right now he is stuck with nothing he is able to do and regretting it.

I posted right after the Round 5 starts post:

HERE

"No, I don't."

Malik reconsiders his options, and finding none begins to question if he is cut out for the life of an adventurer. He yells to the group, "we have to get him out of there."

I think next round, he will break out the pom-poms and do a cheerleading routine. Can't be any worse than what he is doing now.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 4 = 121d8 ⇒ 1

Realizing the futility of his position, and not knowing what else he can possibly do, Malik continues the assault with his crossbow and looses another crossbow bolt to the creature without doing any damage to it.

Not according to the PRD - construct traits

Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 2 - 4 = 181d8 ⇒ 3 holy crud! A threat
Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 2 - 4 = 181d8 ⇒ 3 and a confirm!!!!!!

Malik quickly goes over the list of spells he has available to him, and realizes that when he gets the opportunity to learn a new spell, it would be good to learn one that can damage constructs, as they are probably common in these ancient tombs.

When Bjoern asked for aid, Malik is glad that Anset is distracting the creature, as he was not going to go next to it.

All he can do for now is shoot another crossbow bolt at the construct and this time he hits it quite well.

Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 2 - 4 = 111d8 ⇒ 7

Feeling quite useless against a construct, Malik simply steps up five feet and shoots another crossbow bolt against it, and watches it sail over everyone head and hit the back door.

Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 151d8 ⇒ 5 not sure if that hits

"It's a construct! Malik says to the group and he shoots a crossbow at it.

Depends on what the knowledge check determines. If I think I can grease the cover to make it easier to remove, I'll do that, else shoot my crossbow.

K (arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Malik searches his memory for what such a thing the chest might be and the best way to remove his friend from it.

"Careful, Bjoern. That lid might be trapped."

I'm Papa Smurf, and I smurf this message.
