Sorry, don't think I can continue to keep up with the campaign, I'm leaving for a trip tonight and then job will be pretty hectic for a while once I get back.

Lyra heads to the general store to buy some supplies - if she was going to be breaking into a prison, she would be sure to need them.

Can I just assume they have anything that's pretty normal?

Hah, to be honest it kinda looks like I forgot to do much equipment shopping in the first place - other than armor, clothing, dagger, and thieves tools, I don't have anything.

"Centipedes? What are you-" Lyra begins to ask before she hears the skittering and crunch of combat. She quickly begins digging through her backpack for a torch to light so she would be able to see.

Lyra frowns. "That's strange... I don't see anything, but it looks like someone has been through here, and they took the time to oil the hinges."

Lyra looks over the door, inspecting its hinges, checking the dust on the ground for disturbances, and occasionally poking at the nooks and crannies with a small hooked piece of metal.

Lyra squints to see the tracks in the dark, but sees a door in the darkness where the tracks lead.
"Over here, there's a door."
She shrugs. "I would hope it was the professor, the lock was broken through and he said he intended to go down here."

"If we go during the day, we can at least say we are paying our respects and viewing the rest of the property. Though, it seems that we will be branded grave robbers either way, from how that crowd reacted."

Lyra nods to Quinn. "Yes, it shouldn't be hard to get in if the Professor was already visiting there. I'd just rather not be arrested for grave robbing, so let's make sure we've found the right one."

Lyra nods, "It'll all depend on what kind of books he has in his library, but usually there's something useful in those sorts of records. Lots of towns like keeping floor plans of the more important or public buildings like that."

Lyra's curiosity is piqued, and she unfolds the edge of her package. A confused look crosses her face as a pair of red and orange boots catch the light.
"Ah, hmm. If I'm going to be wearing these, I might need to rethink the rest of my wardrobe to match."

Lyra places the lumpy looking package on her lap as the peers over the strong box. "Should we open it or make sure it's the right things? The professor seemed fairly certain of the danger of them, but only if they got into the wrong hands."

Lyra waves Kendra a silent goodnight and listens to the others talk about rooming. "That sounds fine by me for tonight.
But in the morning, we should fine more long term accommodations for the coming month. A warning, Ingrid, I'll toss and turn all night."

With Ingrid's cryptic - or far too literal - response, Lyra notes that the company she is sharing dinner with is an odd bunch.
"Adventurous - I'm no stranger to rumors of buried treasure, though I usually try to stay way from illusions and magic where I can. Jobs that involve that sort of thing usually end up being quite a bit more dangerous than the usual fare."

"All above-board sorts of jobs - sometimes doors need opening in crypts, even when you've got the right to be there."

Lyra coughs and sputters a bit on her wine when Rego removes his helmet, but then tries to play it off casually and focuses on eating her food.

"Who is Leona?"

Lyra lets the subject drop, and lifts her own glass. "Of course. To the professor."

Lyra raises an eyebrow at the woman's story, and says after she leaves, "An interesting town you have. Is everyone here this focused on talking about undead and purported cannibalism?"

"Of course, Mrs Lorrimor." She dusts her boots off at the door, and her things quite tidily in the corner, out of the way, before hanging up her coat.
"Lyra Tial, pleased to make your acquaintance."

Lyra listens to others talk of their histories with the professor, and notes, "I must say I was surprised to see a letter from the Professor, I hadn't spoken to him in quite some time. It seems he knew quite a few people, from the stories you're all telling, I wouldn't have expected to be first on his mind when writing a will."

Lyra notices that she happens to be the next person in line to speak, and steps forward after a slight delay. "I, uh, didn't prepare any words, but Petros Lorrimor helped put me on a better path, and I suppose whether he knew it or not, he's why I'm who I am today."

Lyra gestures towards Caelynn, and nods. "Surely if you had really had an issue, you would have come to the Father Grimburrow before today - we had to travel all the way here, there must have been time."

Going lighter on the combat prowess since it seems like we already got a good amount of that.

Alright I think I'm going to have to drop the game too, sorry. It's just too disheartening to slowly have the character I made torn apart. If I had been able to know some of this beforehand maybe I could have made a character that would function alright, because the lore does seem interesting, but I don't think I can keep playing if the things I planned to be able to do are just going to become suicidal.

Time to see how enchantment/compulsion spells work, I guess.
