Here, sorry for the delay.

Fourth Floor Third Floor

I will start tonight when I get home. Remember to log into the maps.

Fourth Floor Third Floor

You have all arrived at the entrance to The Restlands. This cemetery will be the final resting place of your friend Professor Petros Lorrimor.

You received the news of his death in a letter from his daughter, Kendra Lorrimor, asking that you attend the funeral and then the reading of her father's Last Will and Testament. You set out as soon as possible to get to Ravengro in time for the funeral. Your path was long but fate allowed you to arrive just as everyone was gathering at the gates of the cemetery.

You look around and see several adventuring type individuals as well as a handful of local villagers who are there to attend the funeral.

A wagon arrives carrying the casket of the professor. As it stops in front of the gates a woman you recognize as Kendra steps down from the wagon.

"First off I would like to thank you all for coming. It means a lot to me to know that my father's friend would travel such great distances to be here when we lay him to rest. Now I would ask for 4 volunteers to act as pallbearers to carry him to the gravesite within The Restlands."

Dwarf Male Sorcerer 2 [HP 14/14] [AC:12 T:12 FF:10 CMD:12] [Init +4] [Fort +1 Ref +2 Will +7] [Perception +4]

"Twould be my honor, lass." Burgen says, stepping forward to volunteer.

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego nods. The helmed man steps forward to volunteer as well. His black gloved hands grip the casket tightly the only emotion he shows.

Human Male Fighter 2 [HP 19/23] [AC:21 T:13 FF:18 CMD:18] [Init +3] [Fort +3 Ref +3 Will +0] [Perception +1]

"I’ll walk with the professor one more time." Says a tower of a man standing near the back of the crowd, Keeping his voice steady only with great effort. He then starts to make his way as carefully and politely as he can to the front with the others who stepped forward.

"It would be an honour to carry the professor." a tall woman with an athletic build replies as she blinks once with her green eyes which match well with her red hair.

She walks and take a middle position on the opposite side of Quinn to balance some the strength of those who'll carry the casket.

[HP 10/10] [AC:15 T:13 FF:12 CMD:13] [Init +3] [Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2] [Perception +5]

Lyra follows behind the others, quiet. 'Friends' wouldn't have been the word she would use to describe her limited relationship with the Professor, but she had made a promise and intended to keep it.

A woman dressed in robes of black, purple, and silver, stepped up behind the funeral line. "May your journey to her side be a swift one old friend... All who live must face her judgment." She said as she moved her veil away from her left eye, showing a birthmark of the Lady of Graves holy symbol. She looked to Kendra and offered a sympathetic look. "I am sorry for your loss. You already have a priest for this yes?"

Fourth Floor Third Floor

Kendra turns to Caelynn, "Thank you and yes Father Grimburrow is waiting for us in The Restlands."

She then walks past the pallbearers and says, "Please follow me."

The group enters The Restlands and follows a gravel path known as The Dreamwake. Kendra setting a slow and dignified pace, followed by the pallbearers, and then the rest of the group.

As you get about halfway down the path a group of men step on to the path. The group is lead by a surly looking old man.

"That is far enough. We have been talking and we don't want Lorrimor buried in The Restlands. You can take him upriver and bury him there if you want, but he is not goin' in the ground here."

Kendra is swift to respond, "What are you talking about? I arranged it with Father Grimburrow. He's waiting for us."

"You don't get it, woman. We won't have a necromancer buried in the same place as our kin. I suggest you move out with you still can. Folks are pretty upset about this right now."

There are about a dozen of them armed with various farm implements.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Ivy speaks up
"Look, do you have proof that he was a necromancer. And I mean evidence from a first hand witness or item that is unquestionable the professor's that proves he was. Because if you don't, it would be the same a denying your family members the right to be buried with dignity and respect."

Got a good roll, though not sure if it is enough

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego stays still and silent, no good can come of his involvement in this exchange.

Fourth Floor Third Floor

Anyone can attempt to aid in that roll if you want.
Diplomacy DC10 to aid

Caelynn stepped foreword, a slightly upset look upon her face. "It is very rude to interrupt a funeral. You should think of the family during this difficult time. If the priest of this graveyard has given his blessing, then you have no right to stand in the way. Especially if you have no proof to back up what you say." She told them.

Diplomacy(aid!): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

[HP 10/10] [AC:15 T:13 FF:12 CMD:13] [Init +3] [Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2] [Perception +5]

Lyra gestures towards Caelynn, and nods. "Surely if you had really had an issue, you would have come to the Father Grimburrow before today - we had to travel all the way here, there must have been time."

Diplomacy Aid: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Human Male Fighter 2 [HP 19/23] [AC:21 T:13 FF:18 CMD:18] [Init +3] [Fort +3 Ref +3 Will +0] [Perception +1]

"And besides how are you sure what you saw wasn't the professor learning how to fight the undead, and not rise them?"Quinn asks.“When it comes to magic such thing often look similar.”

Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Dwarf Male Sorcerer 2 [HP 14/14] [AC:12 T:12 FF:10 CMD:12] [Init +4] [Fort +1 Ref +2 Will +7] [Perception +4]

"Ye lot be gettin' in the way of a families right to grieve for their dead. There be no honor in that"

Diplomacy Aid: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego looks at the others standing up for the Professor and finds his voice. The echo of it issuing from the helm sounds deep, deeper than one would expect from the frame of such a short man, "Indeed as the rest of these good people have stated it is bad luck to interrupt a funeral". Rego grasps his holy symbol of Sivanah with his black gloved hand as if to ward off such bad luck to give his statement dramatic flair. After all, he was born and raised in Ustalav and knows ho superstitious its residents can be.

Diplomacy 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 - Aid

Fourth Floor Third Floor

Confused by the number of questions asked, the leader looks to his group. None of them seem willing to follow his lead at this point.

"We don't have any proof with us that Lorrimor was a Necromancer but he was always creeping around The Restlands at night when he thought no one was looking. He had to be up to something. We will let you proceed for now but when we find the proof we will be digging him up and get rid of him once and for all."

With that said the group wanders off into the cemetery.

Kendra is barely able to contain her rage at the incident but begins to march down the path.

You follow her until you arrive at the gravesite where Father Grimburrow is waiting.

After everyone is settled and the casket placed in the grave Father Grimburrow gives a short sermon and then asks Kendra if she would like to say a few word. Fighting back tears she recounts several of her father's more courageous and selfless moments.

When she is done she asks if there is anyone else who would like to as a few words.

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego steps forward his voice this time somewhat muffled in his helm as if he is having a hard time speaking, "The Professor saved my life, indirectly. An associate of his who was later to be my mentor was tracking a night fiend to the town where I was living at the time. The timely intervention of that individual saved me from being another victim. But for the Professor's guidance, my mentor would not have been there that day and I would not be here speaking today.

Thereafter, I did have cause on numerous occasions to meet with the Professor to discuss the topic of dealing with creatures who prey upon the weak and how to defeat these menaces. I have ever since dedicated myself to the cause of making the night safe for decent folk. Of late, the Professor and I corresponded only by letter until..." He pauses and speaks no more.

Caelynn moved foreword giving a low sigh. "By the Grey Lady's will, my Fate crossed that of Petros. I always believed that she sent me there to save him, for it wasn't his time to go. What most would see as chance became a dear friendship. While we did not spend much time together in person, we remained in contact with letter and from time to time meeting up if our paths where close enough."

"When I heard... he had passed, I came right away. He was a bright and kind man. This world is lesser with his passing." She said.

Human Male Fighter 2 [HP 19/23] [AC:21 T:13 FF:18 CMD:18] [Init +3] [Fort +3 Ref +3 Will +0] [Perception +1]

Quinn speaks up in A deep steady voice “professor Lorrimor Brought light into all of our lives and the life of the world in general. Through his kindness, knowledge, and adventuress spirit he inspired everyone to be better and showed us how. As he goes on to adventure and learn in the next step of his journey his light will continue to shine for generations thru all the wonderful memories and wisdom he blessed us with. Thank you professor.” As he says this tears start to fall from an unflinching face.

[HP 10/10] [AC:15 T:13 FF:12 CMD:13] [Init +3] [Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2] [Perception +5]

Lyra notices that she happens to be the next person in line to speak, and steps forward after a slight delay. "I, uh, didn't prepare any words, but Petros Lorrimor helped put me on a better path, and I suppose whether he knew it or not, he's why I'm who I am today."

Ivy speaks up with a slightly emotional voice holding back her tears.
"The Professor saved my life as child from having a life of; despair, hatred, fear, and misunderstanding.
And I owe the professor a lot for saving me, and letting me have a more normal life.
I pray that he rests well."

Dwarf Male Sorcerer 2 [HP 14/14] [AC:12 T:12 FF:10 CMD:12] [Init +4] [Fort +1 Ref +2 Will +7] [Perception +4]

"Go, my friend, to halls of your fathers." Burgen bows his head toward the grave.

Too late to post tonight. It should be up tomorrow before I go to work at noon.

Fourth Floor Third Floor

A few more people step up and say a few words of departure about their friend and then Father Grimburrow says a final prayer to Pharasma.

As the group moves off and the gravediggers begin their work Kendra comes over to you and says, "I want to thank all of you for coming. My father asked that each of you attend the reading of his will tonight. Please follow me to my house and you can get cleaned up. We will have dinner and then Councilman Hearthmount will read the will."

You follow her until you arrive at a nice house on the south side of town. She shows you where you can leave you gear and where you can get cleaned up.

You have a couple hours to kill until dinner and the reading of the will. Remember that none of you know each other so this would be a good time for introductions.

On the map you started at The Restland (P). She leads you down the west road past the Temple of Pharasma (E). You cross the river and end up at the Lorrimor Place (N).

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego stands against the wall uncomfortably his helm and black gloves remain on despite the fact that he has entered the house. He places his backpack on the floor, the thud of some heavy sounding items resound when it hits the floor.

"You may all freshen up first, I will go last as I feel well enough at the moment. Truly this is a sad day, the Professor was the closest thing that I had to a friend left in this world..." The melancholy in the man's voice is palpable.

"That sounds lovely Kendra, thank you." Caelynn said. She gladly set down her gear and looked to those around her, offering a nod to Rego when he offered to let everyone else go first. "He was the only friend I had. But I believe his judgment of others was good. Perhaps fate has smiled upon us in this time of grieving." She told them. "I am called Caelynn. Though I do not mind if you call me Cael or Lynn." She explained as she removed her veil, though she quickly pulled some of her pale blonde hair over her left eye rather quickly.

Ivy replies to Kendra
"It is an honour and I thank you, Kendra."

When Ivy enters the house, she puts down her pack so as to be out of the way.

At Rego's mention of going last Ivy adds
"Well, aren't you being the gentleman.
Going with the manner of Ladies first, I take it."

And adds "The Professor to me was more that of a savior."

after Caelynn has introduces herself, Ivy introduces herself
"Then I should introduce myself, I am Ingrid Vita Yuri, though some folks call me Ivy for short."

Folks can see from her appearance she is half-elven, with Ulfen heritage given her height, build, and colors.
And the clothing she is currently wearing is of that of a normal peasant or barmaid, but her muscularity hints she is either a hard worker or trained her body for physical combat.

Human Male Fighter 2 [HP 19/23] [AC:21 T:13 FF:18 CMD:18] [Init +3] [Fort +3 Ref +3 Will +0] [Perception +1]

After the others thanked Kendra Quinn tacks on “See you at dinner.”

After Ivy gives her introduction Quinn follows up with “It’s a pleasure to meet you Caelynn, Ivy.” and offers them both a hearty hand shake. “I’m Quinn Dealnegru. I Don’t think I got your name good sir.” He says putting an open hand out to Rego.

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego blesses himself and sends a gesture of blessing to Caelynn as she removes her veil.

He nods to Ingrid and gestures for her to freshen up first assuming that is her desire.

Rego grasps Quinn's hand hesitantly, "I am Rego. Rego Darksome. My friends call me... well they would call me Rego I suppose. I am a servant of Sivanah Lady of Mysteries. How did the Professor bring light into your life good Sir?" Rego asks from behind the helm which still sits atop his head obscuring his face.

Human Male Fighter 2 [HP 19/23] [AC:21 T:13 FF:18 CMD:18] [Init +3] [Fort +3 Ref +3 Will +0] [Perception +1]

"nice to meet you Rego. I worked with him as a guard on many of his trips. We would talk on many subjects on the road. I even had the pleasure of attending a few of his lectures. The man was brilliant as he was kind."

[HP 10/10] [AC:15 T:13 FF:12 CMD:13] [Init +3] [Fort +1 Ref +4 Will +2] [Perception +5]

"Of course, Mrs Lorrimor." She dusts her boots off at the door, and her things quite tidily in the corner, out of the way, before hanging up her coat.
"Lyra Tial, pleased to make your acquaintance."

Lyra listens to others talk of their histories with the professor, and notes, "I must say I was surprised to see a letter from the Professor, I hadn't spoken to him in quite some time. It seems he knew quite a few people, from the stories you're all telling, I wouldn't have expected to be first on his mind when writing a will."

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego shrugs at the last sentiment stated by Lyra, "Nor did I have such an expectation. He was a man that touched many lives, perhaps his relationship to my mentor is what inspired him to write to me. They were quite close".

Ivy adds after all the introductions are done
"We've all had our lives affected by the professor in different ways, and likely there are many other lives his life affected as well."

"I'll have the first bath, unless Lynn or Lyra wants to go first. Since we all pretty much arrived today and long travels with a few places to wash up along the way is a little disgusting."

Fourth Floor Third Floor

Kendra as been sitting quietly listen to your group talk about how they knew her father.

"My father never met a stranger that he did not have some effect on. His will stated that I send letter to all of you and three others who seemed to have not arrived in time for the funeral. I am sure there is a reason that they did not make it. He kept a journal and mentioned everyone that he met and had stories about how there lives seemed to have changed after meeting him. Everyone loved him and I will miss him. I was not prepared at all for him to die. I am not sure what I am going to do without him."

With tears starting to form in her eyes she stands up, "I am going to go upstairs and rest until dinner. Make yourselves at home down here. Food is being delivered from the inn. When it arrives please let me know."

The kitchen and the bath is to the back of the main floor. There is a locked door to one side of the main room that you are in. She tells you that is was here fathers study. She has not entered it since he died. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs. One is hers and one is here fathers. The other two are quest rooms that have two beds each. There are two outbuildings. One is storeroom that has a small bedroom to the back and the other is an oversized chicken house.

Dwarf Male Sorcerer 2 [HP 14/14] [AC:12 T:12 FF:10 CMD:12] [Init +4] [Fort +1 Ref +2 Will +7] [Perception +4]

Burgen begins chuckling quietly to himself. Upon seeing the others look, he says, "Sorry 'bout that, just rememberin' the time I met the Professor. Names Burgen Brandstone, blacksmith by trade."

Sorry about the late post. This was supposed to be after Regos' latest one.

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

"I will set myself up outside. Please let me know when you are all refreshed and u shall take my own turn".

That said, Rego steps out with his pack and closes the door to the storeroom. He removes his helm and takes a deep breath closing his eyes he begins to pray to the Goddess for guidance.

Human Male Fighter 2 [HP 19/23] [AC:21 T:13 FF:18 CMD:18] [Init +3] [Fort +3 Ref +3 Will +0] [Perception +1]

After putting his thing where Kendra indicated Quinn says"I think I will see how the chickens are holding up."And heads out to do so.

Fourth Floor Third Floor

GM Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Quinn:
There is something off about the chickens. They don't seem healthy. You check and they have plenty of food and fresh water. They can go outside and roam the enclosed pen but they are all inside. You check and they have not laid any eggs. They should be active but they are just sitting there staring at you and you move around the building.

Dinner is delivered by a man and woman. They are obviously husband and wife. The man hauls all the food into the house and the woman goes about set up the table. The woman explain that they are neighbors of the Lorrimor's and that they have been helping Kendra since her father died. The man says nothing but eyes each of you up and down as if to gauge if you are a potential threat to Kendra.

After the meal is set she goes up and gets Kendra. They return and invite each of you to come sit at the table.

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego stares at the food through his helm contemplating whether to dine. He is hungry but to eat would require removal of his helm. His hand, this time in a white not black glove holds hid knife and fork with indecision.

Human Male Fighter 2 [HP 19/23] [AC:21 T:13 FF:18 CMD:18] [Init +3] [Fort +3 Ref +3 Will +0] [Perception +1]

Quinn Takes a seat next to Rego and surveys the meal. What is set before us?
As Rego contemplates, Quinn leans over and quietly says to him “I note you're still wearing armor. Are you expecting more trouble with those towns folk from before?” The concern in his voice is apparent.

Dhampir Cleric 2 (Sivanah) - HP = 14/14 | AC = 16 | CMD = 13 | F +3 | Ref +0 | W +6 (+2 vs. Disease & Mind Effect) | Ini +2 | Per +6 Shadow's Status

Rego turns back to Quinn, "No merely self conscious. My appearance can be... alarming to some."

Fourth Floor Third Floor

As all of you gather around the table Mrs. Johan explains, "This is simple fare for you folk since we did not know what any of you like. There is roast beef with potatoes, carrots, and onions. We have fresh lettuce and vegetables those of you who don't eat meat. And for desert we have fresh berry pie. There is also local wine and ale for those who wish to have some."

She continues, "This is all home made by the neighbors. I cannot believe that innkeeper, Zokar. He wanted cater your meal tonight. The food at the Laughing Demon isn’t all fun and games—and it’s no coincidence that Zokar serves more corpse chowder after unpopular merchants “leave town,” never to be seen again. If Zokar invites you into the Demon’s back room for a complimentary taste of that evening’s chowder, watch out!"

Kendra speaks up, "That will be enough gossip for tonight Mrs. Johan. Let our guest eat in peace. The councilman will be here soon for the reading of the will so we need to move along. Thanks you for everything that you have done and send my thanks to all the others."

Mrs. Johan looks almost hurt by her dismissal and say, "As you wish dear. I will be back in the morning to check on things."
