Gentlemen, welcome. You honor our island. I look forward to a tournament of truly epic proportions. We are unique, gentlemen, in that we create ourselves... through long years of rigorous training, sacrifice, denial, pain. We forge our bodies in the fire of our will. But tonight, let us celebrate. Gentlemen, you have our gratitude.

Cool Ninjas!!! This might fit in nicely with that project Heroes of the Jade Oath (we play AE). Did Jade Oath get past the beta?

GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!

sorry couldn't resist.

Not sure how I should take this thread since I'm working right in the middle of downtown Detroit as we speak and I drive by that abadoned station everyday.

Detroit has ALLOT of problems but things are starting to turn around. The city has a decent guy for Mayor for a change and he is working hard. The Auto companies are starting to come back and the exterior of that building in the picture was used in Transformers 1 & 2 and several other major pictures.

Here is hoping!!!

It means the GM in the sky just had to roll his/her d8 to see what color they hit the recipent with. Hopefully they didn't roll an 8 for a double whammy!!!

Folks might want to check out Rite Publishing's Rituals of Choice AP which is set in this world and in particular explores the ramifications of the importance of oaths and, well, making choices. It is written for D&D 3.5 but could no doubt be 'pathfinderised' if so wished.

I've been itching to run it ever since reading the first couple of adventures!

I checked it out and it looked really good and if I'm not mistaken it was written for AE 3.5.

Problem is that the folks at Rite Publishing described it as a 25 part AP (1 adventure per level) and due to the patronage project there were numerous delays. That was in June and at that point they had published the third adventure. Five months later still nothing new.

As much as I would like to see more I wouldn't wait around for this one.

Did you translate everything over to the Diamond Throne setting?

Yes, as best as I could I translated things into AE (classes, spells, magic items etc). The endless hours I spent with Dragoth and Lashonnas' spell lists still give me nightmares.

ST wasn't as bad, except for the unique demons I didn't need to work as hard. To be honest for the genric demon types (how about that for a 1st edition refernce shout out), I just used my handy 3.5 MM, Players & DM guide.

My group of hardcore veterans 20+ years of RP love it. We ran AOW and ST in AE. After each campaign I check to see if there is something else that interests them and each time they prefer to stay in the AE rule set.

I liked the story and enjoyed the player options of DA:O. However the lack of a multiplayer option was a big let down. Any chance this time around there will be an option for online play?

Very doubtful. Sounds like your looking for somthing that LOTR War in the North maybe offering. DA:O story with on-line grouping. Don't know for sure LOTR:WITN isn't going to release for a couple more months.

Got mine on pre-order!! What I find interesting is that ArchLich is using the Vecna Avatar while the first response to the OP was done by none other then Vecna himself!!!

A dark omen for sure!!!

Play as the Emissary to heal your party members.Take out Morrigan first as she is the healer. The other key component is make your sure your entire "party" takes out Alastir's group one at time with 4 to 1 odds they go down pretty quick.

Don't worry about the werewolves, if they tag you then just keep moving, with you constant reinforcements they will eventually forget about you.

Playing the rogue has taught me that, just like in real life, it is more challenging when you can't just fireball things that get in your way.

(OTOH, I've almost figured out how to 'train' Morrigan to throw SotC, without having to do it manually)

LOL, pretty!!! That's half the fun with DA, setting up parties tactics, course their were a couple of times with my warrior that I ended up on the wrong side of a fireball. MORRIGAN!!!!

Question, can you have multiple rangers each summon a pet? I'm about to try it with a rogue, and am wondering if a Warden/Zervan/Liliana/Wynn party could have three summoned monsters with them. Killing the AD is going to be tough w.o mages.

No, only one pet or summoned undead at at time. If you attempt to summon a second pet the first one will die.

Note: there is one exception. In the DLC Golemns of Agmarrk if your playing a ranger/wizard you can summon a pet/undead and then allow your companion the dwarf dualist (can't recall the name)summon his special pet the Bronco allowing you to have a group of 6!

Yea, gone threw game 3 times (mage, rogue, warrior) and always had Wynne as companion for healing.

The AD isn't so bad, just conserve you armored soilders (Eamon Knights, Dwarfs and/or Werewolves/Templars)and bring them in once the Darkspawn swarm the tower heights (AD is at 50%) to keep them off your party. IMHO the Mages and Elves were worthless.

For AD use Corruption helm on tank and stock up on Spirit Balm (AD breath weapon is Spirit damage not Fire). Archer should use Filth Arrows (+3 Nature Damage (AD is vulnerable to Nature attacks).

This just in...... Sept 7th DLC called "Witch Hunt"

"Never follow me." With these words, Morrigan vanished into the shadows. Her plans and her whereabouts have remained a mystery... until now. But whether you seek answers, revenge, or reconciliation with your lost love, you may find more than you bargained for.

Key Features:
•Confront Morrigan in this dramatic conclusion to the Origins storyline
•Earn powerful rewards that transfer into your Awakening and Origins campaign
•Import your character from Origins or Awakening or create a new, high-level hero!

This will be good.

Wow, looks like I spoke to soon. Like my DLC name better "My babies Mama".

DLCs I didnt play....
1) Return to Ostagar - from the description it sounded like Id be running through a battlefield fighting hordes of enemies. I passed.

Isn't that what the good guys are suppose to do?

Actually, I liked RTO, nice resolution to Logain's betrayal. True it wasn't as good as the Stone Prisoner or Warden's Peak DLC IMHO but since I doubt Bioware will have a DLC called "My babies Mama" resloving the god baby issue with Morrigan I'll take what I can get.

I'd like DLC that deals with Avernus/Sophia depending on your actions.

Eww, evil metagame thought.
** spoiler omitted **

Well Flemeth does appear to a have younger body in DA2. Probably another daugther, I'm sure she has a couple of suits laying around!!!

What is the expected publication of further adventures? My group will be wrapping up the Savage Tide AP in a few months (just started part 11) and I was thinking of runing ROTRL or Kingmaker.

However, we play AE and this AP might be something to look into since it takes advantage of the history and lore of the setting.

Been playing Dragon Age Origins for the last few weeks and just learned Morrigan's origin and Flemeth,s plans for her daughter.

Is it me or did anyone else think that Morrigan/Flemeth story sounds allot like Iggwilv/Baba Yaga history from ST?

For example both Baba Yaga/Flemeth are both ancient Witch Women with a rich history and habit of causing destruction. Both have had numerous daughters (btw was does happen to Baba Yaga's daughters after their 100 year rule in Glorian?)and of course both Iggwilv/Morrigan are smoking brunettes witch women(if you like pixel characters)full of themseveles.

BTW - Love DA this is not a shot at the game.

How sad.

Dahak's a real-world deity who's actually been in D&D ever since the 1st edition Deities & Demigods (where he was statted up as a dragon)?

I don't have the adventure in front of me but wasn't Dahak one of the enities listed as being imprisoned in the Wells of Darkness from the adventure with the same name?

James Jacobs wrote:

we went with Dahak (a different and actually, I think, more logical choice, and a god who comes from the same traditions and era more or less as Tiamat) as our evil dragon god.

Problem for me James is that everytime someone mentions Dahak I half expect Xena and Gabrielle to come flying around the corner!!!

Help President Obama win the Heisman Trophy!!!

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Next-h elp-Obama-win-the-Heisman-63851657.html#

How Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 12 days (for dummies):

January 20: Sworn in as president. Went to a parade. Partied.

January 21: Asked bureaucrats to re-write guidelines for information requests. Held an “open house” party at the White House.

January 22: Signed Executive Orders: Executive Branch workers to take ethics pledge; re-affirmed Army Field Manual techniques for interrogations; expressed desire to close Gitmo (how’s that working out?)

January 23: Ordered the release of federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries. Lunch with Joe Biden; met with Tim Geithner.

January 24: Budget meeting with economic team.

January 25: Skipped church.

January 26: Gave speech about jobs and energy. Met with Hillary Clinton. Attended Geithner's swearing in ceremony.

January 27: Met with Republicans. Spoke at a clock tower in Ohio.

January 28: Economic meetings in the morning, met with Defense secretary in the afternoon.

January 29: Signed Ledbetter Bill overturning Supreme Court decision on lawsuits over wages. Party in the State Room. Met with Biden.

January 30: Met economic advisers. Gave speech on Middle Class Working Families Task Force. Met with senior enlisted military officials.

January 31: Took the day off.

February 1: Skipped church. Threw a Super Bowl party.

I want peace in the Middle-East, less nuclear arms and everyone to have nice day. Can I have my Peace Prize now?

This is just embrassing and an insult to all the candidates who truely deserve this award for their good work.

I wonder if Wolf Blitzer will fact check the Noble Committee like he did the SNL skit?

I know that Shackled City was collected in book form. Have AOW or ST ever been collected into single volumes?

Sadly no. In a nut shell ST and AOW are owned by WOTC so unless Wizards decides to re-publish them (highly unlikely)the mags are the only way to go.

Maiking an appointment with the appraiser so he can do an inspection to refiance and save your home. Take the time off of work then having to call when there an hour overdue to talk to someone who sounds like they were on WOW raiding till 3am and get "ah sorry I forgot your appointment"!!!

Just finished reading the summary for the first five parts and I like what I have seen so far.

It looks like Vampires may play a major role in this AP??

Turin the Mad wrote:

Actually, this is pretty useful, especially from a "pre-order" basis on Paizo's end.

Say AP 75 is announced six months ahead - which is about the current pace - and it REALLY tickles your fancy. You fire up a sub as a pre-order for that AP. Since it is a limited-run sub, you get NO other benefits of being a subscriber, you just pre-order a "Legends of Fiery Burning Monkey Death" (or whatever) Adventure Path set of issues. Catch could be, as they are already considering for 'suspended' subscriptions, that you are committed to the 3 or 6-issue subscription pre-order. Perhaps on an exclusively pre-ordered "one AP basis" you get the sub discount just on the price of that specific AP.

For those who really want to grab a specific AP set in advance, or perhaps also for backorders, an AP Bundle like the above could work out well as a supplemental ordering method.

Perhaps one could do Adventure Path-specific Bundles? One click gets the 3 or 6-issue subscription and all attached supplemental material scheduled to be released for that particular AP?

Well put, the "pre-order" AP Bundle is exactly what I was thinking.

Charles Scholz wrote:

Any time you start a subscription, it will start with the current Adventure Path. At the moment that is the last issue of Second Darkness. If you want to get Second Darkness, you need to order them. You can order them all at once, or one at a time as you need them.

I currently do have all the Second Darkness issues, it was just an example I used to help define my question/suggestion.

Thanks
