![]() The FAQ clarifies that movement altering, unless specific does not function in powered armor.
A clear one would be the thruster heels and force soles in larger armor The thruster heels have a function that grants a bonus to the next athletics check but since they are attached to your feet within the larger armor they do not work. RAI, I completely agree with this, it makes total sense for you to just slam into the monitor when you activate these inside the armor. RAW however, nothing like this is noted. Not in the current FAQ either. Things like defensive ball graft or the force bolt graft. Can powered armor be modified to accomodate augments like lighter armor can? Or are augments that are usable in powered limited to straight stat boosts or mental actions? ![]()
![]() Can you have a single character that basically has 4 'bloodlines' or for more thematic sake, 4 dragon bloodlines and 4 different breath weapons. Race ; Human
The Reason why I ask if this can work is due to the wording in the first part of the
'You choose to study or worship one type of dragon, and your focus grants you a measure of its power. Choose one color of dragon when you select this feat; if you are a sorcerer with the draconic bloodline, this must be the same type as your bloodline' We do not need to hold to this rule because we are technically not a sorcerer.
'Special You can't select another dedication feat until you have gained two other feats from the dragon disciple archetype. If you later take the sorcerer archetype, you must choose the draconic bloodline.' Due to this wording, I am assuming the restriction would only come into play if we were to take the Sorcerer dedication after we take Dragon Disciple, because we took it in this order, this rule has no effect either. This is incredibly specific and does not come together until level 16 at the earliest. But can it be done? ![]()
![]() How would you deal with a Nanocyte gobbling up a high level item that you would normally not be able to buy? There are several scenarios where an item appears on the sheet that is at least 4 levels higher than the party level for that tier. This is no problem during the playtest as you generate a new character each session, aside from one problem, the item is still consumed. During full society play, how would purchasing interact with the Nanocyte? If a level 10 Nanocyte consumes let's say, a level 14 weapon during the session ;
2.would they be allowed to spit the weapon back out at the end of the adventure? 3.would they not be allowed to consume that item at all? Furthermore, would a consumed item be deleted from the chronicle sheet? ![]()
![]() So now that the game has had a few years I keep noticing, why are ranged
From gunner harness to bipod, You don't have to invest in strength to use heavy weapons anymore wich was their only downside, and these are stupid cheap. Heavy Gunner harnass combined with a bipod and sniper atack allow you to make your full attacks with no penalty to hit. Melee needs to run into range and take fire and then when they get to full attack, they will do less damage than ranged just because they have less chance to hit? If you just hunker down with a heavy weapon and a gunner harnass, you can pump all other stats, ending with better survivability and better damage. 'But you are bad in melee!'
Seriously? What gives? ![]()
![]() Solarians can use unarmed strike damage and abilities with their solar shield. Does this cause things that normally only apply to 'wielded' weapons to also apply to the shield? I am asking this because a recurring opinion I have heard is : unarmed strikes are a part of your body so you cannot wield them but the solarian is said in the text to 'wield' their shield. Examples that I am referring to are : Star Knight Pike Mastery

![]() Hunting around a bit for the consensus on this one, flight and haste not working would make sense but what about the other way around then? Would slow affect a power armor user? If Haste would be overwritten by the power armor, would slow also be overwritten? Would you not get the speed increase/decrease but still get the extra move action/staggered condition Would the second level of fly work because it notes an object? But would this also mean that enemies can treat you as an object in the case of telekinesis? Would class features also not work? Would a solarion with defy gravity float weightlessly inside the armor's cockpit? But if you cannot affect your armor with your own class features would that mean that you would not be able to be blinded or affected by specific effects? You wouldn't be looking at the source with your own eyes. Same thing with Debris field, would you just have a load of junk floating around you while handling delicate controls? Would a caster be unable to use spells like mystic cure because he is not touching the target with his/her own digits? Would the gravitational harness only make you weightless and not your armor, because that would make the augment completely useless for any user. Or would it only apply when using armor of your own size? How about armor upgrades? You can wear light armor under it and use the better KAC/EAC bonus, but does this also apply to upgrades? The list goes on. How have you guys handled this during your own games? Were you selective? Denied or allowed everything? It's horribly confusing. ![]()
![]() I recently traded a replay boon for a skinwalker boon in my lodge, I wanted to make a werecrocodile magus because I thought natural spell combat was attuned to them, but it is attuned to the wereshark lineage instead. My question though, the book itself notes that the options are available to were-insert, skinwalkers of that lineage and creatures that associate with the former. The additional resources note only that the options in this book are only available to skinwalker characters : do they mean that all skinwalker non-race options are available to all skinwalker characters? Or do you follow the exact wording? So the magus arcana can only be used by weresharks, but the witch hexes can be used by all skinwalkers? ![]()
![]() Seeing as the bear is very underrepresented, especially in pfs, will there be more bear related options in second edition? Will the Tyranny of the dinosaurs and great cats finally end?
Wil we finally get a Bear equivalent of the warcat?
Roar with me brothers and sisters! Bears will not remain silent forever! ![]()
![]() So now that we got ultimate wilderness and bestiary 5 a while back I would have liked to see some more bear options. But woe is me, the new bear is literally a dire bear with advanced taped on to it! I look toward ultimate wilderness and we finally get a large bear companion! Wich is still weaker than a big cat in most ways, while cats get another unique specimen. Not even after eight years do we get a fantastical bear of huge size, meanwhile those kittenhoarding litterboxlovers can prance around the demented offspring of a Tiger and a cantaloupe! Even the Shifter with all of it's problems has bias towards Cats?! I sense claws for alarm here, this kind of favoritism is both unbearable and insuffurable! LET US COME TOGETHER AND SOLVE THIS PROBLEM WITH OUR BEAR HANDS!! Except pandas though, nasty blighters they are. ![]()
![]() There are multiple ways to get wild shape now, far from a good while back when the only way to get it was to play a druid/feral hunter. My question is : If you get Wild shape from multiple sources, do they stack and you get the benefit from shaping focus once or do they count as two seperate instances that both get the bonus from the feat? Shaping focus
Prerequisites: Wild shape class feature, Knowledge (nature) 5 ranks. Benefit: If you are a multiclassed druid, your wild shape ability is calculated as though your druid level were four higher, to a maximum level equal to your character level. Special: This feat has no effect if you are not a multiclassed druid. ![]()
![]() The Homonculist alchemist gains a limited evolution pool to use on their familiar, at lvl 16 this consists of 4 points, wich is enough to take the large evolution. So how does this work exactly? Does the familiar's new natural size become medium or does it become large like the evolution says? And does this mean that if it would use battle form in this case it would become weaker? ![]()
![]() So I just got a chronicle that allows me to buy a special version of the Apparatus of the Crab but at cheaper cost, it even has ways to enhance it's armor and weapons. But what happens when I would use object possession on it? Would it suddenly lose about 130 of it's hitpoints, 7 hardness and would it's pincers suddenly fly off, Or would it be the same but with my BAB added to the attack bonus of it's pincers? Or would it get even more confusing?? Help me out here please... ![]()
![]() So for my next character I wanna do a multiclass of bloodrager/barbarian, dragon disciple and draconic druid so that the Character acutally has a
I am aware that having so many things will make the character weaker, but in the end I don't mind, however the Drake Companion bugs me, it is already very middle of the road but multiclassing will make it lag behind extremely. The Question : Can I get rid of the Drake Companion for a domain or anything else, in any way possible? ![]()
![]() Playing a Tinkerer Alchemist Currently and this section of it's initial ability bothers me. 'A tinkerer’s familiar can take any shape the tinkerer wishes, but its statistics and abilities are identical to a clockwork spy with the normal adjustments and abilities for a familiar applied' Does this do anything practical or is it just for cosmetic purposes?
I am leaning towards the cosmetic interpetation but I would like to have confirmation. ![]()
![]() Currently running into some murky water, I have two questions as the Faq remains inconclusive. The first question I have is, can I modify my clockwork familliar, the reason I ask is because of the wording in the following. 'When selecting one of these familiars, you may assume that you or an NPC crafts the familiar without paying the cost listed in the creature's entry. You need only pay the price of any augmentations that you add to your construct familiar, such as additional Hit Dice for your homunculus. You cannot upgrade your homunculus to have more Hit Dice than your character level. Second, since a familliar is sentient, does the construct immunity to mind-affecting effects still apply and if not, can the familliar gain morale bonuses? ![]()
![]() So a while ago I asked for advice on a gnome gun magus, I brainstormed for a couple of days before coming to the conclusion that it wouldnt work. I made the gnome a bomb alchemist and called it a day but now I found a fun little idea that I wanna ride to the end. Basically I use the Tinkerer archetype and have the familliar take the mauler archetype so it becomes medium, therefore useable as a mount by the small gnome. After this I take all the feats a bomber alchemist would take with 2 levels in eldritch guardian fighter so the familliar would also gain all those feats. Next I use the greater tinkering ability to give the familliar a feat to use for a good weapon as proficiency feats are not combat feats. Probably the light crossbow, I give the familliar two of these to use the two-weapon fighting it gets from the eldritch guardian. Next I take the Spell knowledge discovery and quicken spell with as much metamagic level reduction as I can to hopefully bring it down to a level where I can cast it. So now We have a gnome with perfect flight that alpha strikes with 5 bombs, 4-5 magic missles and 5 crossbow shots from the familliar. Reloading is not an issue due to the shadowshooting property from Blood of Shadows. My apologies for the wall of text but it's a rough idea to fit the character and it's very late. The gist of this is, Can this absolute madness be achieved? ![]()

![]() The gist of it is that I play barbarians and heavy martials mostly, 4 of my characters are bloodragers. This is my 6th character and im trying to get out of my comfort zone, and I like the idea of a numerian gnome with a phaser. ![]() Am I correct in assuming that if I have a level 9 dragoon fighter with an elven branched spear finessed, that with gloves of dueling and trained grace through the advanced weapon training feat that I would get +16 to damage? Dragoon weapon training:
Spear Training (Ex)
At 5th level, a dragoon must select weapon training with the spear group. The dragoon’s weapon training bonus with spears improves by +1 on attack rolls and +2 on damage rolls for every four levels beyond 5th (to a maximum of +4 on attack rolls and +8 on damage rolls at 17th level). The dragoon does not gain weapon training in any other groups as he increases in level. Trained Grace:
Trained Grace (Ex) When the fighter uses Weapon Finesse to make a melee attack with a weapon, using his Dexterity modifier on attack rolls and his Strength modifier on damage rolls, he doubles his weapon training bonus on damage rolls. The fighter must have Weapon Finesse in order to choose this option. advanced weapon training feat: You are specially trained to use your weapon skills in new ways.
Prerequisite(s): Fighter level 5th, weapon training class feature. Benefit(s): Select one advanced weapon training option, applying it to one fighter weapon group you have already selected with the weapon training class feature. Special: This feat can be taken more than once, but at most once per 5 fighter levels. ![]()

![]() Playing a Bloodrager in Pfs right now that im planning on taking into DD, however I am running into a huge problem with my Ac, its awful. So instead of trying to increase my Ac im thinking of trying other options, namely getting enough Dr that I do not have to care about ac. However I cannot find any way for the bloodrager to increase the power of his innate Dr as easily as the barbarian can. Any options available to me? Rather not switch classes because I would hate to lose the flavour of Bloodrager into DD. ![]()
![]() One of the things I always wanted to do as a fan of steampunk and science fantasy is play a character that servers as a golem pilot or power armor trooper. Now I know of course that crunch wise there are very few options and most of them are not legal in society play. I would like some tips on replicating the fluff while keeping the crunch legal and reasonable, preferably examples that come online much earlier than my current idea. Currently im thinking about a Battle Scion Occulist wearing Titanic armor as it fits, the bonded armor with high intelligence as the genius inventor is very appealing to the concept but titanic armor is expensive and its more magical than technomancy. ![]()
![]() Considering the mediums strong bonuses to attacks, it would seem fairly adept to two-weapon fighting, does anyone have some advice on a stat array? Currently I plan on Using :

![]() There are a lot of character options that grant you weird and abnormal physical characteristics. Has anyone played characters like this from the start, painting you character as a freak of nature? I for examble, described one of my pfs characters as having beady eyes, fur and scales with digitigrade legs and long malformed arms. Is this ok and how many people have done something similar and how far can you go before you can't link your character to his/her original race? ![]()
![]() Been taking a gander at the druid archetypes and something struck me, the leshy warden an extremely powerful early acces, they get plant shape 3 at level 10, a seventh level spell at lvl 10, thats over 4 levels early, why is it then that the goliath druid gets giant form 1 at 12th level and 2 at 14th level. Add to that that they get a familliar that can get an additional +6 to str and dex as well as the plant domain with the only tradeoff being a thousand faces and a slightly gimped wild-empathy. Is it just me or does this archetype seem a bit overloaded? ![]()
![]() In the last year or two the druid got a plethora of different options focusing on more varied types of wildshaping, we got oozes, vermin, plants and heck even giants! Is it then odd of me to wonder why there has not been an archetype focused on elemental wildshaping yet? It is probably one of the few flavor pieces the druid is missing and I sometimes just wonder why it is missing at all. ![]()
![]() In a few sessions my seconde character, a bloodrager will reach the cap and retire, with a firm grasp on the rules and after meeting a lot of people with creative builds, I decided to go melee once again for the next character. It's is going to be a multiclass cluster focused on destroying anything in reach of it, might even do eyes of the ten with it if the oppertunity presents itself. I don't know how to progress early on but at level 11 the build looks something like this. Clawsie mcmurder vagabond Traits : Community-Minded,Reactionairy Bloody knuckled rowdy bloodrager, relic channeler medium, dragon disciple and master of many styles monk. 1 Bloodrager : Weapon focus claws, Racial heritage halfling
Level 11 : Boots of speed, touch of rage, and a robe of arcane with heritage( from what I understand it works on eldritch heritage) and rage active. Attack bonus : Bab +7, Str +12, Spirit +3, Touch of rage +6, Aomf +3, Power attack -2, Wf claws +1, +1 haste Damage : Str 18-24 for first claw, +6 power attack, +6 touch of rage, +3 spirit, +4 seance, +3 aomf claw +31 1d6 + 46
Any thought on how I can improve it any further? ![]()
