A greeting to all dearest colleagues.

Grand Lodge

Grand Lodge

A normal afternoon, many pathfinders are discussing their recently completed mission.s
A large stony figure slowly lumbers to a group in the room, He wears a simple blue and grey haori with darkwood Geta's and has shining opals for eyes, alongside him walks a large black cat with a large scar on it's right leg and one of it's eye sockets filled with a opal that shines just as brightly.

Greetings fellow pathfinders, with my brother finally out of trouble I can properly introduce myself to the lodge.
My name is Sakuchi the Tiny, though either of them is fine, this is my brother Daikyou, we have recently arrived from Tian-Xa to help with the operations here.
I sincerely hope that we may have a pleasant time working together.

Grand Lodge

Turns his head towards the stony figures, and slightly raises his glass.

I hope so as well. My name is Joel, and this is my eidolon: Otherland.

With his thumb, Joel points to the tall creature standing behind him. The creature stands seven feet tall, with long mane-like hair and little facial features apart from eyes, and a raised portion of skin that appears to be a nose.

Grand Lodge

An unassuming Chellaxian man with black hair wearing rather haphazard armor walks up to the man who has introduced himself.

"Ah, Sakuchi-san. Good to finally get ahold of you. I've seen you around the lodge a bit, but I never had a chance to pin you down. Name's Ben. Ben Goshey Hojoin"

The man produces a set of documents from his backpack as well as a stoppered ink well and a cold-iron pen.

"It seems that you were in such a rush to secure your, uh, 'brother' that you missed some paperwork while joining the society. You'll need to complete your x-37J as soon as possible, within the week for sure. I know family takes priority, so I took the liberty of filing 23 extension requests, all of which will need to be signed by you now that you have possession of the 37 j. I don't mean to be rude but you've caused the legal department quite a bit of backlog. For sure, family is important, but, well, maybe try double-checking your paperwork next time. I mean we at the legal department aren't monsters, we just try and make sure we have proper documentation of what's going on."

Grand Lodge

Sakuchi expresion changes to one of confusion as he grabs a small notebook from his haori.

Hmm, I thought that none of the needed procedures had elluded me, but it is of no concern. This reminds me of the time I had to pass through Kaolin on my way to...never mind, please hand the paperwork I need to fill in. My gratitude for bringing this to my attention and you have my most sincere apologies for causing you and your colleagues any
degree of discomfort, you know this reminds me of the legal procedures I had to go through Xa hoi....but that is beside the point

Sakuchi Reaches into his haori once more to retrieve a sealed bottle of Ink and a fine engraved brush.

Now then, where am I required to sign?

Grand Lodge

A woman with a tinge of blue on her hair and skin walks by, and seems fascinated by the proceedings.

"Are you an oread?" she asks Sakuchi. "I'm a sylph, and I haven't seen any other genie-kin here in the Grand Lodge. Oh, my name's Celia, by the way."

Ben seems a bit taken aback by Sakuchi's attitude as he hands over the papers.

"I . . . oh! Yes, here are the papers. Quite a few of them, so you can sign them later. Just . . . we'd like them back by the end of the week. I must say, that's rather . . . refreshing. Usually people yell at me when I tell them that they have more paperwork to do. Or spit on me. No one has ever apologized for delaying the legal department.

Uh, thank you, really, thank you. It wasn't any discomfort, really. We have one guy named Suli, he hasn't filed any paperwork ever. Not sure he can read. We just filed him as a lost cause and do the best we can, so you're fine.

Please, when you have the time, I'd love to hear about your legal proceedings in Tien. I'm working on a report for agents so that they can know about local laws in different areas in order to avoid . . . complications."

Grand Lodge

Before Accepting the pile of documents Sakuchi turns to Celia.

Yes, I am what is commenly known as an Oread, it is a pleasure to meet you Miss Celia, though your remark about a lack of 'genie-kin here at the lodge is disappointing.

He then turns to Ben to take the pile of Documents.

Considering I do not have any missions lined up, I am more than willing to tell you, but first this

Sakuchi takes a seat on a nearby bench before shaping part of it into a simple writing table. He then takes out his brush and ink before signing the documents in order.

Take 10 on linguistics = 20

Now then, I shall start with the situation in Kaolin, brutal yet efficient place, I would not recommend visiting it often. Laws are harsh, though throwing your weight at the right people tends to create much free space.

Sakuchi takes his first two signed documents and puts them into a seperate pile.

Xa Hoi however is a completely different story....

Grand Lodge

A young woman walks into the room, holding a compsognathus in her arms. She looks over to the gathered group of people. Oh, two elemental-kin or genie-kin. I wonder which? Lets find out, right Mala?" She walks over to them. "Greetings earthen one. It is interesting to see one such as yourself here. And your cat is beautiful. May I ask what kind of cat he is?"

Grand Lodge

Sakuchi chuckles at the compliment.

Daikyou is a black panther, he was on the same ship I was on when it shipwrecked. He is a braggart, a ruffian and a scoundrel but without him I would not be here today and without me he would not have been here either

Grand Lodge

"Ah. His name is Daikyou." As Malani said. She muses over the name of the black panther. Her familiar craws and shifts itself while being held. "Alright Mala. I'll let you down" She looks at the Oread as she puts the compsognathus on the floor"Such creatures are quite strong willed. Aren't they. Though they will be by our side for nearly anything." She taps the little dinosaur on the head, which causes it to squeak. "Can't rightly use the restroom with around though! Hehe..." Malani giggles at her own joke.

Though later on she notices that the Oread is filling out paperwork. "I did not notice your business. My apologies. I have to admit that filling out such paperwork is tedious. And boring. But a understandable evil. Though it is easier to get people who can read to do something when you hand them a piece of paper with orders from their own higher ranking people."

Grand Lodge

Sakuchi smirks at the comment Strong willed is certainly a way to put it.

He directs himself back to the paperwork before going on, 6 more forms join the pile.

Tedious? Hardly. It is relaxing and it prevents any misunderstanding and delay. And no apology is needed, I can divide my attention between the forms and conversation just well enough.

He then sighs and pulls a small stamp from his robe.

Though it certainly can be repetetive.

The Chellaxian priest of Abadar tries to suppress a look of annoyance on his face for the off-hand insult.

"Ahem, yes, while I can understand not being a fan of paperwork, is is hardly evil. It ensures that civilization runs smoothly. While some certainly twist it to nefarious purposes, the true reason for paperwork is so that every part of society can work together as a whole easily. After all, when we have everything working together in its proper order, we can accomplish great things together. If we don't know what each other is doing? Not so much. Abadar teaches us this.

"That being said, yes, the repetitiveness can get . . . excessive sometimes. But no system is perfect. Small price to pay for getting everyone on the same page, right?"

Grand Lodge

Malani raises an eyebrow when she sees Sakuchi pull out a stamp. "Oh! I think I heard of those before."
Kn. Local on stamp: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
"Is that one of those... Tien signature stampers? Wouldn't it be quicker just to use that instead of doing a written signature?"

She turns to the Chellaxian man. "Oh sorry. I was not disagreeing with you. But one would think there should be a more... streamlined system in place. Maybe a booklet maybe?" She shrugs after she finishes speaking, and her familiar lets out a loud screech. She turns to the little dinosaur. "Oh hush you.".

Grand Lodge

Celia curiously watches all the paperwork from a distance. Never having had to sign so many papers, she doesn't really understand the concept. She decides to back away slowly and try to slip out unnoticed, before somebody tries to hand her a stack of paper like that.

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Grand Lodge

A tall and well-muscled Tiefling woman with enormous black wings and towering horns reminiscent of a black dragon stops to look as she saunters by. She's decked out in a very fine gown, robes, and mithral armor.

"Watcha writing there, a cro-ner-cul? That's a lot of papers. "

Grand Lodge

Sakuchi can't help himself but laugh, the sounds of chafing rock and laughter reverberating throughout the room.

Hohoho, on the Same page! Because I am signing documents, I get it, hohoho,

He then regains his composure before speaking again

Ahem, why yes it is miss, I acquired it during my travels through xa hoi many moons ago where it is quite handy to have.

He then turns to the tall tiefling.
No I am afraid I am not writing anything of the sort, simple administrative responsibilities, but vital I am sure.[/b]

perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29

He speaks without turning his head, focusing entirely on stamping the latest round of documents, the last 15 of the extension forms entering the pile.

No need for the subterfuge Miss Celia, I can understand that you may not find the ramblings of an old man interesting.

Grand Lodge

"Huh, what do you... Oh." Malani turns to the Abadarian priest and gives him a flat stare. "Really? Oh well, that went right over my head." She sighs and shrugs. I can't believe I didn't catch that. She ponders, then looks towards the little dinosaur. "Wait, did you get that?" The little dinosaur just chirps a couple times and swings its head back and forth. "Oh, you're no help." She mumbles.

Malani returns her focus to the earthen one. "Hm, I do not think I got your name, my large Oread friend. And might as well speak to us more stories, as they sound quite interesting." She moves to retrieve a nearby chair and brings it close to him. "If you don't mind, I'll take a seat." She sits relaxed until the little dinosaur jumps up onto her lap. "Ow! Mala! Watch the claws you dimwitted creature!" She bops it on the head and it lets out a barking squeak. After a bit, it nests itself on her lap, curled up.

Grand Lodge

"Yeah, stories! They're fun. Those papers look boring. You should get someone to do them for you instead. Then tell pathfinder stories!"

Mea sits down as well and pulls a large block of chocolate--at least a pound--out of a section of her haversack before offering it around.

Grand Lodge

Sakuchi finishes the the last of the documents and neatly organized the pile.

I am Sakuchi the tiny, scion of Storval and son of the forest of spirits, if you are so intrigued by the stories of an old man then I will grant them to you.

Before I begin, I trust that all is now taken care of Goshey-don..I mean Ben.

Sakuchi then turns to the group.

Now then, let me tell you about the time of.

RealmoftheFellNightQueen:
It was a few months ago, a family member of one of my colleagues was getting married and I was invited to come along. Sadly this wedding turned into a disaster as we were beset by enchanted bee swarms and Foul corrupted spriggans!
It turned out that the verduran forest was host to a mad fey, The fellnight queen and that she was attempting to break out of her dimensional prison.

Together with several of the forests residents, we assaulted her fortress within the plane of shadow, the battle seemed simple, until she hid within the very walls of the keep itself.
My friend Dorin spewed dozens of adamantine arrows in an attempt to flush her out but it was in vain.

Eventually a combined assault resulted in her having to hide somewhere else and in this moment Dorin, myself and a young pathfinder named Yoon assaulted her all at once and she could not bear the brunt of our might without her enchanted walls.

With her might broken we rebuilt the walls sealing her realm away and we returned to the material plane, sadly the bride had died during the initial chaos, I offered the groom my condolences but he was heartbroken for obvious reasons, to my knowledge he is still in that village mourning the loss of his one true love.

A single muddy tear escapes from Sakuchi's normal eye.

Forgive me, the whole situation hits rather close to home, but it was one of the bigger stories I had to offer.

Grand Lodge

Kn. Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Malani taps a finger to her chin while she ponders Sakuchi's story. "Well, I don't recall much about such creatures. But they can be quite capricious. And it is a sad story none the less." She pets the little dino on her lap. The little creature squeaks slightly at the touch.

Grand Lodge

Ben takes the documents and places them in a folder before putting them in his backpack.

"Arigato, Saguchi-san" he says in Tien, with a hint of a Sly smile on his face.

"And please, I am a mere paralegal, not worthy of the accolades of the title 'dono' from anyone. Well, I thank you so much for clearing up the paperwork. And let me just say I am deeply saddened to hear about that story. Sometimes our business is not a fun one.

Why, I remember one of my first adventures. . .

Spoiler for 7-01:
I was sent to help a venture captain do some business work for a while, clear up some contracts, that sort of thing. After all was said and done, we retrieved an artifact for her. We helped her use it, and that's when everything went wrong. I later found out we entered some sort of 'mindscape' or something, but at the time, we thought the universe lost it's mind. Up was down, there were monsters that weren't really there, nothing made any semblance of sense. The laws of reality were. . . Just wrong"

Ben takes a long breath to recover from remembering the experience that was obviously traumatic for him.

"Everything worked out fine in the end but, well, living through it was quite the ordeal."

Grand Lodge

Sorry guys, literally got my pc back 2 days ago :C

Sakuchi lumbers from his seat before, nodding to Daikyou.

I am afraid I must take my leave now, I have to prepare for a mission to Thuvia, something about an auction but they refused to tell me more.

Sakuchi bows before the gathered pathfinders.

May the ground be solid where ever you may walk, till next time we meet

And with that Sakuchi lumbers off, Daikyou following.

Grand Lodge

With Sakuchi's comment about solid ground, Celia looks down at the floor with a confused look on her face. Having grown up in the mountains, climbing cliffs and running along ledges for fun, she's never been one to worry about how solid the ground is.
