Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Roy:
>>I think I only would have use for the gold. It'd be silly for me to have any healing elixirs, and I don't have much ability to use any arcane wands or artifacts.<<

Lem smiled at Roy and looked on to the group.

Ox:
What do you think? Should we give this group a hand with the thieves guild?

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Roy:
>>Perhaps someday I'll learn a magic powerful enough to speak again, but all in all I'm grateful for my affliction. I find touch to be a remarkably poetic medium for communication, and I've heard it's likewise a remarkable boon to my romantic endeavors. Anyways, I hoped you might share that I'm a healer before all else. Also, I've a magic that lets me and several others go without sleep as long as our activity is light. I could share the enchantment with perhaps two more other than myself and Ox if any others wished to keep a more cautious vigil.
Finally, since I've a little conversation to catch up on, I can't make any use of the wands or trinkets found here, but Ox would be better suited in some armor and may be able to use the wands to greater effect. I wouldn't mind some gold to get a better armor made for myself if this is to become a regular occurrence. <<

Lem grins and winks at you as he "speaks" to you.
Lem will offer healing to anyone who is still injured up to full, and will spend a ki point to include two more people in another Keep Watch spell for the rest of the evening.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem climbed up on a barstool and offered a hand to Roy.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem would request 250gp to buy a small masterwork chain shirt.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Is Lem too small for all the weapons and armor?

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem walks over to the body and shakes his head somewhat sadly before searching it.

Ox:
Do you need any healing my friend?

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem was about to be struck by the glowing covered creatures blow when his opponent's hand slipped wide and the halfing ducked underneath the swing with a smile on his face before winking at his companion as he reached out and touched him.

Ox:
>>How unfortunate of him, maybe he's lost his luck to you? Why don't you finish him off painlessly or knock him unconsious so we could question him.<<

using one use of determination for defense to raise Ac to 21 and dodge the attack, then using bit o luck domain power on Ox again

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Sorry, I got ninja'd and missed the response to me until now!

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem reaches to touch his ally, filling him with good fortune, then draws his sling and readies his small buckler again.

Ox:
>>I swear to you I will do my best to see you come to no further harm.<<

using domain power bit o' luck on Ox, until the end of my next turn, any time he rolls a d20 he rolls twice and takes the best result.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10Succes! Assuming Ox is attacked again, Lem will use the body guard feat to aid another his AC and increase it by 6 against that attack.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Bodyguard aoo 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Lem trys to aid in his friend's defense, but is entirely unsuccesful.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Must be this tall to ride?

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

There is not, which is why it's one of my favorite spells.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

He has to roll twice for his next two d20 rolls, whatever they may be.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Also, forgot to include the important fact that I'm targeting the green glowy guy with Ill Omen.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

I could be wrong, but it looked like you forgot to apply the benefit from furious focus for that attack, too.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Initiative1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Lem startles out of his perceptive stupor and reacts quickly, calling on his focus as he begins weaving his hands to and fro into an incantation and before following after his ally and aiming his buckler in a defensive pose.
Using a ki point as a swift action to increase the caster level the spell to eight, casting Ill Omen (two rerolls). Since Ox would have gone first, Lem would move up besides him instead of drawing his sling.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

I'm ready for my bad guy, too. =p

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

I was look around for a replacement to the bane class feature in third party material and found this. Since Lem isn't much of a combatant, he doesn't have much use for the executioner archetype package of the inquisitor. Would it be alright for him to trade it for the youxia archetype here? He'd probably take the the Healing Chi and Arcane Arts Ki talents to begin with and his Wushu weapon would be his buckler if possible, maybe unarmed strike if not possible, and the sling if neither of those worked.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem would have a 22 perception, as he's been taking 10 all night. Our room is also lit by a light spell.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Fair reminder about vision. As light goes down, Lem would cast light on his quarter staff and lean it in a corner opposite the door.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

I suppose that depends on your definition of "vigorous activity".

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Ox, check this spell out. It would have been an integral part of traveling with Lem, and probably helped with more than one encounter that may have gone badly otherwise.

As cheery and social as Lem is, he wouldn't often initiate conversation during this time and would often seem completely absorbed in his surroundings. He also seemed to notice trouble coming far before anyone else would notice it when in this state.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem will set up his room before enjoying the dancing a bit. Then he'll retire in the same room with Ox, casting Keep Watch on both of them before they stand vigil in a locked room and locked windows. Lem will be taking 10 on perception for 22 for the night in a meditative watch.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Leyli:
It's the latter reason that I find admirable. You don't know us, but have provided a hospitality a halfling would be proud of! Your actions towards strangers show a character Ox and I would be happy to get to know should you ever wish our company.

Lem smiled and bowed at Leyli, his hand slipping out of hers. He turned to Ox and motioned towards the rooms and went set them up for the evening.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Leyli:
You feel a warmness through the mental connection like that of beam of sun. >>You are too kind, my friend. Whatever did the two of us do to earn such hospitality from a stranger when you speak of how dangerous and unsavory this place is?<<

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Leyli:
Did you arrange for our rooms and meals for the evening?

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem looks around for Leyli and walks over to her, offering her his hand when she's not busy.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem walks over to the bar and attempts to procure housing for himself and Ox. diplomacy1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Ox:
What do you see? Everything alright?

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Mordecae:
>>Actually, we just arrived today as well! It seems Leyli and Cliff do an excellent job of picking up new locals. If you're interested, it'd be a pleasure to exchange stories with another traveler sometime! Where are you from?<<

Lem glances toward the entryway appraisingly

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Mordecae:
>>Hello! I'm Lem, and this is Ox! We hadn't had the chance to introduce ourselves! It's a pleasure to meet you!<<

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem stays with Mordecae and offers him his hand, smiling.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem let his large friend right him and patted his arm with a appreciation.

Ox:
>>My gut tells me these are folk that we can trust, but it also said the same thing about those slavers in the mountains. Granted, they were perfectly hospitable until we set all those folk free. We'll just have to keep our eyes and ears open.<<

The halfling cheerily motions to the door and heads in that direction after retrieving his walking stick and brushing off his buckler.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem dusts himself off and manages to compose himself enough to shrug apologetically at Leyli.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem's eyes go wide for a moment, and then he bursts out into a silent laughter, banging his hand on the table before promptly falling off his stool.

Ox:
>>HOOOOOO HAAAA! BAHAHAHAHAHA! By the gods! That's funny! I haven't heard such an awful joke in moons! HAHAHA phew, ah. We need to start visiting more pleasant places. That last plague town we stopped at seemed to be filled with all those stern serious types and miserably unhappy dying folks. <<

He wipes his eyes on his robe as he drags himself to his feet and catches his breath, coughing slightly.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Leyli:
Wonderful, thank you again! Ox and I will have to repay your kindness, Leyli.

Ox:
It seems Leyli knows a good place for us to stay, and will show us where it is!

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Leyli:
>>I don't suppose you could show us where that is before you continue on with your evening? I get the impression we wouldn't want to wander into the wrong part of town at this time of day.<<

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem beams at Leyli.

Leyli:
>>As knowledgeable as you are, would you happen to know a good place for me and Ox to find lodging for a while? Thank you ever so much for all of your hospitality!<<

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem waves his hand briefly and extends it towards Leyli.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem shook his head and smiled like he was watching children play fight when the fight came to it's close. He settled into his chair and leaned against the table and listened to the conversation.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem eyes Leyli's leftovers wistfully as he finishes the last of his own plate.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

When his meal arrives, Lem sets upon it with a gusto only a halfling could muster.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Seeing how well Lem did at mainting several seperate conversations at once. Since he wasn't very succesful, everything got garbled up.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem's eyes went wide with excitement as he set his hand on the proffered handle, then his face scrunched up for a moment before his expression changed to a somewhat sheepish grin for a moment.

Intelligence check 1d20 ⇒ 4

Roy:
>>My goodness, how won're on the right track then!<<

Soroden:
>>Well then we j-derful mace!<<

Cliff:
>>Sounds like we'ust have to explore together!<<

Roy, Soroden, and Cliff:
You hear an embarrassed kind of laugh.
>>Sorry about that, sometimes my mind works faster than my telepathy and I trip over my words a bit! Maybe it'd be better to just have one conversation at time for a little while! Besides, I need to try this wonderful aroma! Would someone mind ordering a meal for me?<<
Lem's mental tone sounds a little embarrassed but mostly amused.

Lem pulled his right hand back from Soroden and Cliff to fish a few copper pieces out his robes and holding it out to the men questioningly as his stomach growls.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Sorry folks, been a surprisingly busy day for work today.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Roy, Soroden, and Cliff:
>>Half travelers like me and Ox, and half locals! What an excellent mix of stories! If any of you would ever like to share, I love a good story. What can you tell a new arrival like myself about this place? <<

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem seems unphased by Roy's grip and he turns his smile to Clifford as he chuckles and winks at him. He then makes eye contact briefly with each of you as if he's setting names to faces.

Roy, Soroden, and Cliff:
You feel a mental connection to Lem, but don't feel any such connection between the three of you. >>Roy, Soroden, and Cliff, right? It's good to meet friendly folks on my travels. Where are all from?<<

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

No problem, was heading to bed myself. Feel better!

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Lem matter of factly and deftly slips his hand through Cliff's so the man is touching his arm and offers the open hand to Roy with a inviting nod.

Male Halfling Dual-Cursed Oracle of Life //Inquisitor Heretic Preacher

Ox:
A quick thought comes to you as Lem switches between hands of the strangers >>I'll keep an eye on him. Our communication is as slow as the growing sapling and not as easy to see, he may just be as wary as we are.<<
