Scarab Sages

Please cancel my Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subsciption. Everything else is good.

Scarab Sages

Must try to convince my group. They still hate demons since Savage Tide... I say just more motivation!

Scarab Sages

My hands are longing to page through this tome.

Scarab Sages

Please cancel my Pathfinder Roleplaying Game subscription. All others are fine. Thanks.

Scarab Sages

You do get the Rovagug tie in right?

Scarab Sages

Living near Baltimore and after getting hit by the press described Snowmageddon my mail carrier couldn't be hassled by the blocked mail box and tossed my latest Paizo shipment on my porch. My neighbor made the comment to me that they saw it happen and wanted to make sure I was aware of the package. To my surprise it was in the snow bank next the porch stairs. It's half soaked but I have it drying. Things that I don't appreciate receiving like bills, taxes and junk mail never seem to get the same treatment.

James, any plans for the true nature of the entity that sent the Sunset Captain to obtain the rough seed ever be revealed? It does have some interesting possibilities.

Scarab Sages

Will the true nature of the entity that sent the Sunset Captain ever be revealed?

Scarab Sages

Try pg 17 paragraph 2. I love the LoF. Last weekend our group took out the CK and finally started getting some of the clues that have been laid out over the last few months.

Scarab Sages

What is the delay in getting this one out?

Scarab Sages

Sweet... I now have little stones dancing around my head.

Scarab Sages

I have some secret 'sploring planned.

Scarab Sages

I didn't want to seem excited or anything, but I've been really waiting for this release.

Scarab Sages

Has it reached the warehouse and ready to ship yet?

Scarab Sages

I'd be interested in seeing the Paizo twist. The imagination bred from passion of the material has yet to fail to deliver the promised result.

Scarab Sages

I love how you folks think.

Scarab Sages

Yesterday the mailman drove by the house without dropping any mail. Then stopped around the corner, carrying the box with plenty o' role playing goodness.

Scarab Sages

I DMed a session with a few players this weekend, introducing them to Pathfinder. I was telling them hurry up and order cause these were going to go fast. Hopefully they took my advise. Congratulations!

Scarab Sages

Our group is currently in the part 4 of the HotCK.
Rildamar Chelaxian wizard. This older pesh addicted spellcaster seeks his lost elven wife.

Rufel Zanboa Mwangi paladin of Sarenrae. He and his brother are trying to find out what happened to Haleen.

Sambi Zanboa Mwangi monk of Sarenrae. Like his brother is questing to find the where abouts of Haleen.

Semra Sahinchi Varisian cleric of Sarenrae. Missionary from Karvosa trying to restore the temple.

Amara Garundi ranger. Attempting to earn her freedom. Hates gnolls and has the chance to satisfy her desires as the moldspeaker.

Kashua Keleshite rogue. Just in it for the adventure and gnoll killing.

Has this begun shipping yet?

Thanks. I was just hoping it was wrong, and that shipment might be coming in early.

I was hoping the exact same thing.

I, for one, love the work Paizo has done with the APs thus far. The group I ran ST with thought SWW and HTbM were some of the best of series. All the changes I've made in any of the adventures were to compliment what was written, knowing that it was designed generically. The only AP that I've had no desire to run was the SDAP and it's not because I didn't think it was good, it's was because I don't care for playing out Drow story lines. I did love reading it and will more than likely use an element or two out of them to add flavor to a future campaign.

Paizo and their Adventure Paths to me are like Dream Theater's As I Am. Pure artistry.

Scarab Sages

With the PDF's they seem like a waste. I'm always excited about the next Paizo goodies I have coming my way, except for the maps.

Scarab Sages

How did I miss that? Awesome artwork.

Scarab Sages

When should we expect the real cover art for this one?

Scarab Sages

I12 The Egg of the Phoenix.

Your contribution to gaming has been under appreciated by many, but thank you for everything you did.

I love double weapons. Double swords, double axes, hook hammers, you name it. However, I'm really having a hard time justifying even using these weapons other than mere cosmetics. First, you have to spend two feats to use one effectively (Two weapon fighting and Exotic weapon proficency) compared to using two different weapons (Two weapon fighting is the only feat needed to be a long sword/short sword wielder). Double weapons tend to be much more expensive than just buying two weapons (You save 85 gold by getting a long sword and short sword over a double sword).

I just feel like double weapons are almost pointless and a huge waste of a feat. How can I improve them to make them stand up to other weapon fighting styles? (weapon and shield, two individual weapons, two handed weapons, ect)

I absolutely agree with Richard. Double weapons are a huge waste of time in the game considering their expense and sacrifices that have to be made in order to wield them as compared to other weapons.

We had a TPK a few weeks ago at the end of a session. Took me all week to come up with a acceptable solution that seemed reasonable (for a fantasy role playing story of course). It happened during the underground temple of Urgathoa. I decided to use some intervention by Pharasma. It will eventually lead to a side quest I was not planning.

Scarab Sages

Unfortunately, I was planning on running CotCT later than I ended up starting it. After finishing a nearly two year campaign of STAP. The next DM backed out at the last minute and since I was versed in the story, we rolled characters and ran with it. I wish we would have had more time to prepare but they are pretty well immersed by SDFtG.

Starting off I would highly suggest getting the Korvosa guide and fleshing out backgrounds of each character, so they have a vested interest in the city, its politics and temperament. Make sure they understand the different districts and some of the more notable city officials.

Tyler Reeve: Cheliaxian Rogue. She works with the Arkona's. Her brother was incriminated by Gaedren Lamm.

Arrianna Gladdenstone: (Re) Gnome Sorcerer. Re lost her human lover to an over dose of shiver.

Victus Thrax: Shaonti Barbarian. Victus joined the group after defending them from a gaggle of street thugs during riots.

Jonas Soloman: Ulfan Paladin of Sheyln, hard to explain. He joined to when he felt there was a noble cause to advance beauty.

Khalid: Garundi Cleric of Sarenrae. Joined after learning they were the ones who brought Gaedren to justice.

Dair Tenderfoot: Halfling Bard. Dair joined the group to defend the downtrodden and oppressed.

Scarab Sages

I almost forgot this one...
Name of PC: Krianer Dwarf
Class/Level: Fighter level 2
Adventure: Edge of Anarchy
Catalyst: Foreshadowing

Player decided after the death of Lamm that the dark natured dwarf was not the best choice for him so he asked if he could create a new character and have the brooding former Lamm's Lamb sulk into the sunset. While gathering his things before telling the other party members he was leaving, he came upon a conversation taking place in an alley where someone was trying to intimidate another. Thinking it could be his last hoorah to stand up for the little guy, he elected to intervene. When he tried to interrupt the two, he felt a quick stab to his neck, then another. The last thing he saw was a figure that looked like a red insect with a serrated rapier standing over him. The body was discovered the next morning, and the party was left with a mystery of how their companion was slain.

Scarab Sages

Name of PC: Yapuul Human
Class/Level: Monk level 4
Adventure:Side quest in seven days to the grave
Catalyst: Half-orc barbarian thief
Story: Party was asked by priest of Aroden to recover some stolen scrolls of remove disease. After a chase on the docks (loosely based on chapter 1 of the Mad God's Key in Dungeon 114)the half-orc was able to get his boat away before being engaged on the dock. Yapuul made a leaping jump at the boat but fell just short to the edge. While trying to climb on board he was brained with the half-orc's club. Critical hit. Before his corpse could be recovered a pair of jig-saw sharks had lunch.

The Castle of Fu Manchu. It was MST3Ked and still unwatchable.

Scarab Sages

Received the cards yesterday, thanks again for the prompt attention.

Scarab Sages

Received the package today and alls I can say is the books look awesome! Only problem was I received two critical hit decks and no critical fumble deck. Do you want me to return the extra deck for the other?

Scarab Sages

I'll be converting 3.5 to beta for CotCT in the next couple weeks.

Scarab Sages

Will the campaign setting ship soon, as I ordered it on the 26th of July?

Scarab Sages

To join the general spirit of this thread, I would also like to add my enthusiastic support for a wonderful organization and brilliant group of writers! Lisa, you and you crew have done well!

Thank you :)

Am I be eligible to receive the PF Campaign setting as a PDF?

Scarab Sages

I've tried a couple times to subscribe to Pathfinders Companion and Chronicles and as of yet they do not show in my subscriptions. What else do I need to do so that Paizo can reduce the size of my bank account?

Sure we will. And it's the people making and ordering diverse artwork that will help that happen. By making it commonplace, it loses whatever jarring or odd nature it might otherwise have.

Things happen because people make them happen.

I see what you're saying, but at what point does that pass into the you can only have the artwork that WE have decided for you. Which I guess is what you could say it is now. The say hello to the new boss, same as the old boss.

Yeah! Especially those sick puppies that say things like, "China getting hit with an earthquake and killing thousands, that's karma, isn't it?" Damn sick people.

They are not just in the US ya know! My mum holidayed in the peoples republic of Kanada visiting friends and the christmas message for the comming 2005 newyear was the "asians had that tsunami comming for not being christians".

The Christian fundamentalists are out of control. Considering String Theory invalidates Religion and Evolution I think we should deport them to Labour camps in Antartica - that way they can have fight club in the snow for food and we can have happy they are gone parties.

Yeah the world would be so much better with out Christians. Eyeroll...

Don't worry, Timespike, you're not alone.

Slavery was carried over from Europe. (Where it was carried over from the Middle East and Africa, where it still exists in similar form today) Slavery ended in America with the bloodshed of hundreds of thousands of it's own citizens.

Here's a question: I love folks like Protest the Hero, Oh Sleeper, Misery Signals, My Bitter End, and other folks who manage to do the prog/hardcore/metal thing. Does anybody have recommendations of bands I might not have heard of who do similar things? I'm looking for someone who's harder than Dream Theater (though they're awesome), newer than Metallica (though they're awesome as well) and slightly more accessible than Dillinger or Between the Buried and Me (though they, too, are awesome). My ideal band is aggressive, alternates between brutality and really melodic stuff, and changes up the riffs constantly so you never get bored.

What have you got?

Try some Symphony X. They have a major DnD flavor to them as well, although they are not what I would consider brutal.
