After making sure their target was secured and not dead, Leo sighs.

"For a moment... I, uhm, thought he was dead. What now?"

He looks around to see what his allies might respond and notices that they're a little battered, like him. Suddenly, he realizes that, perhaps, his allies - and not just the fallen enemies - might also need medical attention.

"Oh! My-my apologies! Are you all, erm, okay?"

He prepares to give what aid he can, as necessary.

Down to use my 1/day Healing Touch class ability on Vandor to heal him 5HP. All it takes is 10 minutes.

Skill Expertise provides an insight bonus. Going by the precedent of "same bonuses don't stack", you'd only get the biggest, relevant insight bonus. :)

Realizing Fuskee was not in the mood to be helped, Leo chases after Talbot, as the majority of his allies. Not sure if he'd be able to get close enough to the speeding cart and without much time to unholster his Needler Pistol, Leo decides to use an ability he learned at the Academy.

As he runs, he wills mental energy into his free hand (since the other was now holding his Medical Kit). After doing so, he points at a loose-enough looking stone on the cave wall next to Talbot. And he feels the mental energy bolt from his hand and into the rock he pointed at. Then, he flings his arm towards Talbot, almost as if slapping him, and the stone launches from the rock wall towards Talbot in response.

Move action to get closer to Talbot. Standard action to cast Telekinetic Projectile.

Telekinetic Projectile Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Did I really miss that bit? Darn. I figured it was a strong benefit, but I never thought to double-check. Thanks for the update. I'll change my post, and change the previous "Charm Person" spellgem to Share Language, I guess. It seems the most thematically similar and therefore most fair replacement.

Post fixed!

Still in shock from his surprising ability to produce the star-like motes of energy, Leo tries to see if he can do it again. This time with intention in his eyes, he shoots his free hand out. In his mind, he concentrates on producing the same effect.

And it works.

Out of his left hand shoots a single shooting star that silently speeds towards Talbot.

Standard Action to cast 1 Shooting Star (Magic Missles). It's Force Damage. Would've done more but the targets can't be more than 15 ft. from each other, and I'm prioritizing Talbot.

Shooting Star Damage - REYNALD TALBOT: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

At nearly the same time, Leo notices Fuskee battered by the cart. Ignoring the wound in his own leg (it'd just make him more uncomfortable anyways), Leo pulls out his medical kit in preparation.

Move Action to get my medical kit ready because Fuskee's alreayd next to me.

I mean, if we had the time, then yeah, Leo for sure would've rested up. Updated the tagline for now.

Leo feels surprise as the pistol shot flies through his leg like paper. And then he makes the mistake of looking down, and he feels terror.

It isn't the pain that creates such a dramatic response; he didn't feel pain. He wasn't advanced enough to have that kind of artificial nervous system. No.

As the ichor that runs through him begins to pour out like inky weeping, vivid flashbacks flood in.

It isn't the pain; it's the memories.

"No... No! PLEASE STOP!"

Leo reels like a cornered animal. His head snaps away from the sight of the liquid. His arms jolt forward to cover Leo from the miners. Where 150 years ago this same action would've only been a show of terrorized submission and pleading, instead, three radiant surges erupt from his free hand (the one not holding a spellgem).

Their bright display is incredible, and they appear almost like tiny stars. But as if in the vacuum of space, these shooting star-like missiles make no sound whatsoever. And they find their targets easily.

Super fancy way of saying Leo used a full-round action to cast "Shooting Stars" (mystic version of magic missile) and created three missiles (1d4+1 force damage each).

Shooting Stars Damage - RED MINER: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Shooting Stars Damage - BLUE MINER: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Shooting Stars Damage - CREAM MINER: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

As Moktargarn follows beside Leo with weapons drawn and makes his intimidating threat, Leo shakes his head 'no' with adamant vigor. He hands remain up in surrender.

"No! Please! No! Uhm... no killing today! Yes, erm, none of that at all! Please put your weapons down!" He shouts to the miners and Talbot, hoping to somehow cancel Moktargarn's menace.

Real talk: still might use the spellgem. Idk. We'll see when my turn comes around on the Initiative order.

Leo nods at Glitch's question and takes a deep breath to steel himself... which was hard because he is mostly made of plasthril and not steel.

(Plasthril is a relatively antiquated compound of flexible plastic-like materials and mithril. It used to be very popular for android creation but has since been replaced with better alternatives. It dates Leo and is also the reason why Leo's synthetic skin is tinged blue, a side effect of the material that was one of the main reasons alternatives were sought.)

After a short moment of quick contemplation, he explains his plan, "Okay, so I will, uh, go alone at first. And then try and... and cast the spell quickly. As soon as I see Talbot. And, uhm, if they shoot... if they shoot, please save me."

With that, Leo takes another large breath and makes awkward and nervous strides down the tunnel that Fuskee just came from.

As he makes he way into the more-open area, Leo comes out with his hands raised up in surrender. He sees what Fuskee saw - three men who were not Talbot - and assumes Talbot is inside the crude shack.

"Uhm, hello! I-I come in peace. Please! I just want to talk - to Mr. Reynald Talbot! ... Just want to talk to Mr. Reynald Talbot!"

He realizes the spellgem might be a little threatening, so he tells the truth.

"The, uh, the spell in this spellgem is friendly... I promise! Charm Person. The spell. Charm Person, like, uhm, y'know the one some youngling academies... erm... use to get antagonistic students to be civil with each other. Yeah, so... I'll only use it if I have to," Leo pauses, obviously worried about the worst case scenario then blurts out a wholly innocent and genuine final plea, "Just want to talk!"

Leo waits and hopes for Talbot. He would only consider using the spellgem when he knows that it'd work. If it did work, Leo also hopes Talbot calls off the other three in case they prove hostile, too.

While he waits, Leo's eyes dart around, observing the room.

Leo pulls out the “Charm Person” spellgem from before.

If-if we want to be, uhm, quick, sh-should we just use this? It’s a, uh, a spell that makes people... well, friendly. And... er... It works best when they’re, you know, not under fire.

Leo always preferred winning combat by stopping it before it began, but as usual, would defer to his allies.

Leo forgets a little about the notion of personal space, but at Vandor’s reminder, he begins to focus more on the environment than his allies. He is ashamed and embarrassed until Vandor pulls a 180 and congratulates Leo on his keenness.

Engineering vs DC15 to understand: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Leo nods as he watches Gltch work. He would’ve done the exact same thing and is surprised neither Fuskee or Vandor thought of disarming the trap in such a way.

Anyways, as the party continues on, Leo continues to keep aware and quiet. He takes a cue from Fuskee, and in addition to looking out for more illusions, he tries his hand at stealthing. Though, he stays behind with the group.

Look!” Leo calls out as he approaches deposit of piled ores to the southwest.

This is, well, thasteron. It’s, uhm, unrefined. Cheap, he explains, taking a close look, “But this bit here is... is different. Weird. Uhm... Nothing I’ve seen before. And the way it seems to meld into thasteron... must be, erm, an illusion.

Leo points out certain pieces of ore among the thasteron. Unique and odd, the mineral ore seems to be half-thasteron and half-something rather incredible looking. Obviously, the illusion is fading away, explaining the weird, hybrid appearance of the ores. Seeing them, one could see what kind of fake mineral Talbot must have been selling off. When the illusion was fully active, it was clear that the mineral looked expensive and spectacular.

I wonder... I wonder what else, y’know, could be an illusion.

Leo looks around to see if there’s any more illusions going on. Talbot had the Charlatan’s Stone. For all he knew, anything could also be an illusion.

That’s my specialty!” Leo excitedly blurts out, rushing over to the fallen Maarbadvae.

He falls to his knees and immediately goes into a pseudo-trancelike state. It wasn’t any sort of magic trance but a very focused flow onset by his automatic programming. Doing medicinal and life-related tasks always triggered his old protocols. He works and moves with automated precision, with nearly possessed accuracy.

He spends 60 seconds administering first aid, then another minute to treat potentially deadly wounds.

First Aid is a Standard Action (roughly 3-6 seconds) and can be taken 10 with. So 10x6 is 60 seconds. Also, Leo has the Medical Expert feat. He can treat deadly wounds with only a medical kit.

Using this opportunity, Leo quickly jumps up, letting go of his spellgem in the process, pulls the door's handle, and slams the door shut. He holds the door's lock and uses his artificial - and frankly somewhat heavy - body to act as a weight.

Leo hopes that he can keep the ysoki out of the fight for a moment to allow his allies time to finish of Maarbadvae. At least, that's what he was hoping for. He hadn't seen Maarbadvae's condition since he came behind the bar, but based on Fuskee's recent exclamation, Leo figures things must be going okay.

Strength roll to keep door shut, if necessary: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Trying to focus on noticing anything about them, the looming threat of danger proves too stressful and keeps his mind from anything other than the basest of physical observations about them - like how Maarbadvae was large and had 4 arms and how the ysoki had a gun.

Brandishing the Needler Pistol, Leo takes his cue from Fuskee and shoots at Maarbadvae. He didn't really want to, but he knew the charm only worked well when death wasn't such an obvious threat.

Standard action to attack with Needler Pistol. The Needler Pistol has 6 ammo when full. It will now have 5.

Needler Pistol Attack 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

It'd been awhile since he was in the heat of real combat, and Leo's nervousness was causing his hand to tremor a little. The shot almost catches Glich's shoulder on its way to Maarbadvae and then flies right over Maarbadvae.

Realizing that it wouldn't be too wise to try shooting again, Leo instead rushes behind the bar, where Fuskee is, in order to at least have some protection from Maarbadvae and Grank.

Move action to move 30ft (6 squares) to the space next to Fuskee, behind the bar.

Once there, Leo ducks behind the bar in order to go completely out-of-sight... hopefully. At this point, he's almost completely sitting on the floor with his back to the bar, although he remains alert.

Swift action to duck behind the bar completely, butt to the ground, back to the bar. I guess that's gonna function like going prone? I'm okay with that.

With his back to the bar, he tries taking some deep breaths to calm his jitters, holding tight to his pistol in one hand and the spellgem in the other.

Leo nods in understanding. His allies were right that it was risky, but he didn’t want to cause any undue destruction because of the orders from the Ventire-Captain. In response to his comrades, Leo keeps the spellgem in his right hand. He would have it ready, just in case.

In the other hand, he equips his needler pistol. Then, he makes his way behind some cover from the front entrance—the wooden pillar. And then he whispers a quick prayer to the Black Butterfly and hopes for the best.

Having stayed politely silent throughout the conversation, Leo is gladdened that Philit and AbadarCorp continue to seem allies.

When the shouting of this ‘Maarbadvae’ begins, Leo begins to run through potential options. His priority was keeping the conflict peaceful because of their orders to not give the society a bad name, not even on Akiton. And therefore, Leo doesn’t think that fighting fire with fire is a good idea.

Reaching into one of his pockets, Leo pulls out one of the special spellgems that he had received as a graduation gift from Fitch, his faction’s leader. Looking over the arcane runes, he realizes that the encoded spell is one of “Charm Person”, and he has an idea.

My, erm, friends, we should try to, well, settle this peacefully. If this Maarbadvae does not respond to negotiations, I can, uhm, try to, y’know... charm them in order to better persuade them against a... well, violent course of action.

Readying a spell gem from the “Spellgem Cache” perk from the “Welcome to Starfinder” boon. It will be a “Charm person” spell. May or may not actually use it. Depends on the party’s response and how initiative plays out.

Leo continues to listen, although at this point, he also glances towards Fuskee and the Vesk bodyguard that was staring at his Ysoki comrade. He was sure this could be resolved peacefully, especially since it seemed that AbadarCorp and the Starfinder Society had some mutual interests with Talbot. But just in case, he remains ready to rush to the Ysoki's side for two reasons: Fuskee seemed the most likely to rush into combat, and the Vesk bodyguard's stare looked very brutish.

After having a surprisingly pleasant experience with the child and his parents, Leo is telepathically called to the table of the AbadarCorp Shirren and where Vahni and Vandor already were.

Not wanting to abandon his teammates nor seem rude to people who may be victims of Talbot, Leo obliges with characteristic obedience.

At the table, he does his good, old nose-staring trick and nods every now and then to show he is listening. There was no way he was going to pipe up, unless something made him blurt out. Instead, Leo hopes one of the more charming and better socially skilled allies of his crew would lead the way. At the least, Leo figures active listening and polite civility would bode well with the ever-lawful patrons of Abadar.

Maybe it would even help his friends in conversation. Leo always wished someone would just attentively listen to him without minimal judgement; surely the Shirren would, too.

"Hello, youngling!" Leo says with a surprised crescendo, "Uhm... it's because, well, you see, I'm an android. I look different, er, well, because I am, y'know, different. My body, well, was manufactured by, uhm, special machines, instead of being born."

He tries his best to politely smile, even as the young boy stares at him with beady, adorable daggers. Leo found them equally innocent and utterly terrifying. Considering Leo and his crew were on a mission, he'd need to somehow get the boy and his young, dagger-eyes away, both for the boy's safety (in case some sort of combat broke out) and so Leo could focus on assisting his allies with anything.

"Youngling, shouldn't you be with... well, with your parents? Are they, y'know, nearby? Or do you, erm, need help?"

Leo crouches down a bit and extends a gentle, open palm to the boy in a sign of offering assistance. While doing so, he made sure to stare at the boy's nose and not his cute and intimidating stare. Leo had learned this trick back when he was a corporate slave, when he was forced to make eye contact with a superior and he didn't want to. Leo had learned that as long as you stare at their nose, you can ignore their eyes, and they won't notice a thing... usually.

Race/Class(es)/Level(s): Android Spacefarer Mystic (Star Shaman) 1
Slotted boons: Wayfinder Champion;
Day Job Roll, if any: Lab Technician (+6)
__________

An android made long ago to be nothing more than a corporate slave, he is antiquated in appearance with his obviously fake, synthetic skin and his blue eyes that both glow and hum softly. He has problems asserting himself, a bad habit he picked up long ago, and at best might raise his voice only to stumble over his words in awkward tension. His difficulties with socializing don't hide his biggest personality feature, however; and that is his incredible optimism. A dreamer and chronic idealist, Leo's fortunate salvation has colored his perspective on life rosy, even when straight logic might disagree. He's not benevolent or wholly selfless or anything though; he just believes things will always work out for the best... usually.

Leo first became a Starfinder to join the crew of Wayfinders that saved him and had become like a family to him. However, they were lost to the Scoured Stars Incident and the Godshield. So Leo now has a couple of major goals:
- To experience the vastness of the universe that he never knew, experience all of its wonders and glories, and at the end of it, choose one of those infinite places to call his home.
- To recall the missing portions of his memory.
- To get past the Godshield somehow in order to find out if his previous comrades still live.
- To take up the legacy of the Wayfinder team that saved him and became his family by continuing their mission as Starfinder Society Wayfinders: to explore, travel, and discover.
- To prove to the rest of the Society that the Wayfinders are not brash and reckless daredevils who only exist to put everything at risk, but the Wayfinders are like the team he knew: idealistic, hardworking, brave, and good.

More information on all this can be found on his Character Profile, where I have a full Biography and Character Sheet.

Uhm... I read that an AbadarCorp fleet was here to, well, to pick up recently found Drift fuel. Like, well, like very recently discovered—only a few weeks. Er, something has been keeping them here. They were... were meant to depart two days ago; people think it’s trouble with the purchase.” informs Leo somewhat quietly to his teammates, in answer to Glitch’s question. He sounded equally knowledgeable and insecure.

A part of me wonders if it’s all somehow related to Talbot...

He did his best not to make any eye contact because he didn’t want to be suspicious. So he stared at the ground instead. Somehow that’d probably still look suspicious to some people.

Leo waits outside the bar, idling himself. The knowledge he gathered was not anything he thought would pertain to their mission right now, but unfortunately, it's all he really had. And with only 30 credits to his name, he also doesn't really have any spending money right now. And he still doesn't feel comfortable entering the bar again.

So Leo waits, watching as strangers pass by and hoping his allies had something better than what he had. Because all he had was unrelated information about AbadarCorp Drift fuel transportation problems.

'Wait,' Leo considers as he stands with his hands clasped together looking uncomfortable, 'The article said that the oil was found only weeks ago... and Talbot left weeks ago... perhaps he's using the stone for more than just creating gold?'

Leo contemplates this notion for a time but decides it's probably unlikely. He didn't know Talbot, but he doubts Talbot would stay on Akiton for long with a stolen Society artifact. He'd be safest on the run.

Still, it was an interesting thought. If it was true, the implications were considerable. Was Talbot trying to somehow revive Maro's economy? Or was he just hoping to dupe the desperate mine owners and miners? If Talbot was somehow involved with the fuel in Tasch, Leo would have a lot of questions.

As soon as Leo enters the bar, he immediately regrets it. Everyone here seems unsavory, and he can feel the weight of their eyes on him. After only a few minutes of standing around awkwardly, he finally leaves the bar for some fresh air, or whatever someone might describe the dry, dirty air of Akiton to be.

Outside, Leo decides to find some sort of library or info database to see if news on the Philsopher’s Stone existed. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a computer with him, and his comm unit could only do so much, which is why he’d have to find a public computer to check out the planet’s infosphere in depth.

Perception for public computer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Maro was a wasteland ridden with neon and vertical alleys and abandonment... and that wasn’t helpful for his search.

If Leo would be able to find an accessible computer though, he would use it to see if there was any news or online gossip circulating about a Philosopher’s Stone or of Talbot.

Leo is thankful for how much the station seems to care for his wellbeing, though he finds the 20 minute preparation process to go on his space walk a little irritating. But he would never voice such a distasteful thing to an authority because that'd be wrong. Right?

Anyways, as Leo enters the shuttle, he makes sure to snap a picture of the Strawberry Machine Cake advertisement that covered its side with his comm unit. It wasn't that he was the biggest Strawberry Machine Cake fan - in fact, Leo preferred the synthetically perfect Aballonian euphonics and Synahtrah-7's galactic-jazz to Strawberry Machine Cake's sugar-pop.

Leo took a picture because he had the slightest crush on one of the members and frequented a fansite that collected as much SMC-related media as possible. It was innocent, and his crush was based more on celebrity idolatry than actual infatuation. But a crush was a crush.

Once settled in his seat, which was by a window of course, Leo spends most of the journey staring out at the wonders of space. If his crewmates addressed him, he would partake in conversation. In fact, if struck with conversation, Leo's giddiness and anxiousness at the upcoming missions would make him rather talkative; for Leo wasn't unwilling to talk - his prior vow of silence to the Venture-Captain's briefing was only for the moment and as a form of discipline for himself. Instead, it was hard to strike up a conversation with someone when the vastness of space was already whispering in his ears.

If he could, Leo would write down observations of most astral bodies that he might have seen as they traveled. Just for personal cataloging.

-------

Upon arriving at Akiton, Leo feels weight gradually lift off of his shoulders. This was his first time in Akiton, and the low gravity was quickly apparent. In fact, it was pretty liberating. And with the shuttle gone, Leo felt incredibly autonomous in that moment. He was back on the field! How exciting!

With fresh fervor pouring in, Leo accesses his comm unit to review the information from before. While he does so, Vandor speaks, and Leo listens. Before they can move on, he decides to relay the information to his team.

"Wait! Oh, sorry! Sorry... I didn't mean to be mean," his mechanical throat makes weird cranking sounds as if it's hitting something. One can assume this was Leo's version of an awkward and nervous throat clear.

"Uhm... before we all do our investigations. I, erm, just wanted to go over some things about Akiton to give us all a better, well, y'know. Uhh... a better starting point," Leo continues on after a quick pause that wasn't there to give his mates time to listen and process but more because Leo suddenly felt weight come upon his recently unburdened shoulders, "So Akiton is supposedly a dying planet, in more ways than one y'know. Yeah. So... Not only are its deserts growing and atmosphere waning, but it's economy has also been slowing ever since the creation and popularization of Drift engines. This is, well... This is because Akiton's economy was centered around mining for fuels that were used in pre-Drift types of engines. Now, a lot of the old mines are emptied or, uhm, abandoned or maybe even taken over and used for something else?"

He pauses again, but he seems less nervous. As he goes on, he apparent social skill deficiencies seem to give way to his data rambles. Pouring out lots of information always had a way of quieting his insecurities for a moment; all it took was focusing on the knowledge and not the people listening. In this case, his eyes never unglued themselves from the holodoc that he had pulled up in front of him - old notes from his Akiton History and Society class. As long as he didn't make eye contact, he would be okay. Unfortunately, this made him a little blind to another's reactions and also garrulous.

"With a dying world comes dying governments, too, y'know. See, er, well... Akiton is not the pinnacle of law and order, and nearly all law enforcement is done in small, local areas by small, local authorities. And that makes the law here a little... well, a little lawless. Anyways, Akiton isn't all dead! It's still sustained by commerce and trade. That's good, right? I mean, who knows how much of it is 100% legal, but still, trade remains strong. You just have to be on your toes, is all. Because, uhm. Because... because most locals don't trust each other all that much, let alone strangers. So be careful because you're probably being watched, and if someone seems too trusting, I don't want to sound rude... but - and I apologize - if they seem too nice or trusting, it probably is a deception... And it also means Talbot probably got out of Maro as quick as he got in, if he wanted to stay safe, that is."

For a moment, Leo seems to have stopped, but the he scrolls down to a final section of his notes that he almost forgot to mention, "Oh! And if you haven't noticed gravity is a lot lighter here. About 1/3 of Absalom Station. That means you can do some thing you weren't able to back in the Lorespire Complex. Just be careful. I hear it can be pretty hard to get a hang of all the low-gravity stuff. I'd also suggest keeping your environmental protections on because the atmosphere is thinner here, too, which can make you weak and tired. And we need to stay alert!"

Leo smiles at his wealth of knowledge, proud he could somehow be useful. But as he finishes, he makes the mistake of looking up and making eye contact with the crew.

"Oh! Uhm... yeah. Back to work! Sorry!"

He apologizes out of a nervous habit, seem pretty uneasy, and quickly starts off deeper into the city of Maro as if trying to outpace his social intimidations. He heads towards the bar that Vandor had pointed out just because it was the first thing that Leo could think of heading to in the moment. He didn't really have a plan; he just needed to move.

Basically, he recites the DC10 and DC15 Culture checks from earlier. They provide Akiton info. You are now informed. Also, wow. That's a lot of text. Omg. My bad. I'll keep it shorter in the future.

Leo takes in all the information with quiet excitement, seemingly ecstatic to be on the job but equally terrified of being rude or disliked. He smiles with a sense of achievement as he walks out with the rest of the crew for having done what he sought to do: not talk unless spoken to. He had done well. Well, after excusing the first flub, of course.

As the crew parts ways for a time, Leo heads to his old dorm area, where he still lived in between missions. He had not had a chance to find a more permanent living solution, and the society hadn't kicked him out just yet. There, he hurriedly gets all of his equipment together, including the celebratory spellgems he got from Fitch after graduating. A part of him knew that all new graduates got some sort of gift, but even so, he liked to believed that Fitch had actually gone out of her way to give him his spellgems.

As Leo walks out of his dorm, he sends some simple paperwork to Fitch's office to update the Wayfinder database about his current mission. Leo was always very dutiful about these sort of things, and so far, he had yet to miss any undotted i's or uncrossed t's.

Soon, Leo finds himself Hangar Bay 215-D. As he walks out to the ship, he pulls up a clock. It has only be about 30 minutes, and the ship doesn't leave for another hour and a half.

"Just in time." He says to himself, content with his punctuality.

Leo approaches the hangar forcefield that separated the vacuum of space from the breathable habitat of Absalom Station. For a short time, he stands like a statue, staring at the stars and the black, entranced.

Then, as if invited and led further away, Leo simply steps through the hanger forcefield and begins to float in the vacuum. As he does, a subtle field surrounds Leo from his armor's environmental protection systems. Most would be terrified of being lost to space, but this wasn't Leo's first time out here.

Unafraid, Leo somehow manages to hover his way to a nearby slant in the station's architecture. He didn't really know how he did it, somehow being able to maneuver in space as if he had a jetpack; all he knows is that he could. At the slant, Leo sits down and makes sure all of his pockets are properly sealed. Then, he spends the rest of the 1 hour and 30 minutes watching the starships of the Armada fly by, or the distant stars glow, or the inky blackness breathe and call out to him with a peaceful serenity.

Yes, he was just in time.

---

When the time to depart draws near, Leo makes his way from his quiet place, back through the hangar forcefield and joins his team for departure. He was ready for another mission and ready to get one step closer to fulfilling his many, many goals. Besides, he had never been to Akiton. Despite what others had told him, Leo had long convinced himself that it must be beautiful in its own way, and now, he's ready to prove it.

I see I've been beaten to the punch, but I figured I'd post up anyways for the sake of being on an unofficial waitlist or whatever. I'll be ready to start ASAP, if you ever need me.

Leo is restless with anticipation as he waits for the rest of his future crew to arrive. He doesn’t want to impose himself by entering early and alone, especially because he isn’t sure if the man who called them was too busy to have someone arrive early and interrupt them. ‘Anyone in the Lorespore Complex would certainly be a busy person, right?’ Leo figured as much.

Thus, Leo continues to change what foot he was putting most of his weight on, busily idling himself as he waits for the others to arrive. And shortly, they all do. And they enter as the doors automatically hiss open, as if they’d been watching and waiting for the whole crew to arrive.

Before Leo is Venture-Captain Arvin with his eyes busy with his computer screen. Before Leo has a chance to assume what Arvin may have been working on, the Venture-Captain quickly shifts gears and immediately starts the mission briefing, after a very succinct introduction and welcome. Leo rarely denies an invitation and takes a seat, his synthetic face brimming with concern.

This must be important for Arvin to be acting so urgently.

And in fact, the mission was important: theft of a Society artifact by a former agent.

Leo is appalled. He never had considered that someone would voluntarily leave the society on such bad terms. It had never crossed his mind.

The first to respond is one Vahni Dahawan. Leo learns this from accessing public Society databases, while they speak. For now, their name is all he knows. Well, he also learns that Vahni is new to the society, having not undergone a formal Commencement and that they must be very talented to be on a mission before properly graduating. Their wise questions and concern seem to validate Leo’s assumption, and he feels optimistic that Vahni will be a valuable asset to the team. He also notes that Vahni’s outfit seems a little lived in, but maybe that’s just their style? Fashion was something Leo always had difficulty with.

In the meanwhile, Leo also checks his personal logs to recall any information about Akiton. He had never been there, but he had heard many stories from his former crew and had read some things about it, too. And moreover, he had taken some classes about Akiton during his time at the academy.
Culture: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Through all this internal contemplation, his initial shock pervades. In fact, his surprise regarding Reynald Talbot is so much so that after Vahni speaks, Leo’s mouth asks a question without consulting his brain and mild social anxiety first.

And, uhm, what about former field agent Reynard Talbot? Is there anything we should know about him, erm, perhaps like what branch of the society he served and in what capacity? Is he dangerous?

Leo mentally slaps himself for being so direct and not letting the Venture-Captain respond to the first set of questions. He would have covered his mouth mid sentence if he could have, except he figured that doing so would’ve looked unprofessional and silly. He didn’t want to disappoint his crew mates nor the Venture-Captain so soon. For now, he made sure not to say anything else unless directly addressed.

Awesome! So excited! Seems everyone is ready-to-go.

Also, I updated Leo's "Bot Me" information in his Character Profile Page to provide more explicit combat guidance. It's a lot easier to follow and more comprehensive/detailed than my original botting information.

Soon, I'll also include non-combat Bot info.

Cheers!

I'm down to get started as soon as possible! And from the looks of it, it seems we're only missing Fuskee on the slides. Woohoo!

Also, I just realized that my Forum handle is the alias for this campaign and not Leo because I accidentally dotted the Campaign with my default forum handle... My bad. Sorry!

Leo has been busy trying to draw the current constellation that faced the window he had been standing in front of for the last hour or so. He wasn't doing a good job of it though because Leo found out that he did not know how to draw.

As Leo hears his name over the Station P.A. System, he perks up with a rush of adrenaline and excitement, dropping the holopad that he was using to draw almost immediately.

'My first mission!' he mentally cheers, walking briskly to the Lorespire Tower with an almost automatic response.

Halfway there, his excited stupor is interrupted as he remembers he dropped the holopad. Embarrassed, he quickly rushes back to pick it up. He quietly apologizes to no one in particular as he retrieves the holopad and sets it down neatly on a nearby table.

And then, he quickly continues his journey to the Lorespire Tower.

__________

1. Are there any special rules, boons, or corner cases I should know about with your character?
Not that I know of, no.

2. a few sentences about what kind of person your character is, such as 'Why are they in the Starfinders?' or 'What makes them tick?'

More information on all this can be found on his Character Profile, where I have a full Biography (Linked Here).

3. I listed it earlier, but just in case, Do you mind if I occasionally bot your character for combat or a skill check? I'd want to try keeping things moving quickly if needed.
I don't mind at all. Have at it!

4. As related to number three, What are your usual actions in combat?
Leo's main goal in combat is to provide back-of-the-line assistance, whether by keeping his teammates alive, debuffing the enemy, or doing auxiliary skill checks or something. He's very rarely a frontline brawler, mostly because he's pretty easily intimidated by imposing figures and other figures of power or authority (a rollover trait from his upbringing as a lowly laborer).
