Sovereign Court

Double post, but Doc's spells are up on his page. I'll put links in when I'm home tonight. I've also sent a... lot of tabs on items to my desktop as well. He'll be finished tonight!

Sovereign Court

I'm interested!

Right now I have a frontline Summoner build, Kobold/Dragon, and a Halfling (Duskwalker?) Life Oracle who are level 10 and can easily be bumped up. It looks like frontline is pretty well covered, so I'm leaning towards the Life Oracle build, but I'm curious as to thoughts before I bring them up to snuff. I had only done a cursory glance over the characters and can do more tomorrow.

Sovereign Court

I'll have Ozella Whizzlefizz ready tonight after work. Excited to potentially get picked!

Sovereign Court

Looking over the campaign traits, I'm definitely going Warded Against Witchery. Just imagining this socially awkward, nerdy Gnome girl walking around with a homemade protective charm that doesn't actually do anything but she's so well versed in other aspects of witches now that it acts like a placebo amuses me.

Also not sold on Teladora as a name anymore, but I'll come up with something.

Not sure how much being a fire based Mage is going to seem like "cheating" in Reign of Winter, but I'm willing to change things around a bit.

Sovereign Court

I ran half of The Slumbering Tsar before Covid and I'm planning on getting my group through the rest of it, so I'm really interested in this in the "oh god why would I do this to myself" kind of way.

Dotting for now. Gotta check out everything so far. First thought is an Evangelist Cleric, but who actually knows when the time comes.

Sovereign Court

Hello! One of my other games just crashed due to schooling issues, so I understand you on that. I'd like to throw my hat in the ring.

Character race: Gnome
Class: Arcanist
Archetype: Elemental Master (Leaning Fire)
Alignment: CG
Background: Despite being smart as a whip, Teladora Whizzlefizz took the words of her family a little too close to her heart. Growing up, she would always look forward to her family visiting, in particular, her Uncle, Fongledoytch Whizzlefizz. Fongledoytch was an avid storyteller and natural liar. Most people took his outrageous tales with a grain of salt, chalking it up to another bout of an overactive Gnome imagination. Teladora absorbed his stories every time he would speak them, not bothering to question him unless something turned out to be impossible.

One day, Fongledoytch returned to the homestead her family was based out of after a particularly long stint away, even by Gnome time standards. His hair was partially bleached, his skin losing its color. However, as Fongledoytch started spinning his tale, some of his colors began showing more vibrantly, and then something particularly powerful entered Teladora's ears.

"While I was traveling the far north, I was cursed by Baba Yaga herself! That's why I'm Bleaching!"

To everyone else, it was a tall tale. Teladora, however, took it as truth. Not long after, she steeled herself, gathered her books and things, and left a note.

"Heading to Irrisen to save Uncle Fongledoytch from Baba Yaga's curse. Be back soon."

My situation: I recently got a job doing recruiting. It's a lot of deskwork, and I have time between calls to craft responses. My posting on weekends can be a little weak except for at night (Eastern) when my wife has already gone to bed.

HP: 6 + 6d6 ⇒ 6 + (6, 4, 6, 5, 5, 4) = 36

Sovereign Court

Alright, got a promotion!

I just got home from work. In a few hours, I'll have a character up and ready to go. Thanks for the opportunity!

Sovereign Court

I didn't know you back then, but welcome back!

I'd like to apply as well. I'm currently running a weekly game of AV over Discord, so I do have prior knowledge, but I'm very good at keeping player and character knowledge separate. We're about 4 sessions from the end of book 1. Also, I have no problem discussing my experience running it with you whether you pick me or not!

I've been itching to play a Fighter. I'm thinking sword and board. A young Human (always subject to change before the finished product) who grew up going to the Roseguard Museum at least once a month to look up to their idols. Because of this, they have dreams of grandeur and has always wanted to visit the Gauntlight. A few of their friends went near it with them once, but were spooked away by floating balls of light. Every so often they would try again without their friends, who had been too scared to go back, and came back with tales every time. Once they hear Wrin has been asking about the Gauntlight, they would likely to be the first to show up, sword polished up and shield and armor well taken care of.
Background: Fogfen Tale-Teller
Name: terrible with names. I'll come up with something.

Sovereign Court

I'll have to drop, too. I was super excited and ready but now that I'm ready to sit down and write, everything I thought up refuses to translate into words.

Good luck to everyone looking to participate, though!

Sovereign Court

Update: I've got the crunch thought out and started, I've got a backstory in my head involving a monastery ship in the Lake of Mists and Veils. My wife and I are moving tomorrow for a new home but I'll have everything up Monday. I plan on going Stolen Fury for Champion, anything I should know for The Event stated in the trait?

Sovereign Court

Will be working on a Tetori Monk (I honestly forgot they existed) . Final answer. I've got backstory rattling in my head and crunch planned there, too.

Sovereign Court

Alright, but more info. Decided on a Human. Probably going to end up going Strangler Brawler, but I might go a strange Fighter VMC route, need to look into VMC more but I believe it was mentioned as okay? Please correct me if that's wrong.

I'm going to build up into the best (and often hilarious) mythic path ability ever, Uncanny Grapple.

Just look at it!:
Upon making a successful grapple combat maneuver check against a creature you are grappling, you can perform one of the following actions: throw, crush, or swing. For a throw, you can throw the target of your grapple up to 10 feet per tier; if the creature strikes a solid object before reaching this distance, it takes 1d6 points of damage per 10 feet of the remaining throwing distance and lands prone. For a crush, you deal 1d6 points of non-lethal damage per tier.

For a swing, you can use the target as a weapon against another creature, treating the grappled creature as a twohanded weapon. If you succeed at a melee attack against an opponent adjacent to the target, both that opponent and the grappled creature take 1d8 points of bludgeoning damage from this attack + 1-1/2 × your Strength modifier.

I absolutely adore this ability.

Sovereign Court

I am *very* excited about Owlcat's WotR. I actually just finished up Kingmaker out of excitement.

I've always wanted to make a Mythic grappler type, so showing interest, will have something up by the end of the week.

Sovereign Court

Gotta do just a bit of reworking, then, so no Tyrant tonight.

Going with Blue Mage + Monsterous Shifter (Gestalt Archetype)
+
Dragoner Berserker (Full archetype replacement)

So I'll just need to remove the Berserker stuff and I'm good.

Sovereign Court

Monstrous Shifter also runs over most of Blue Mage, so it wouldn't be just for Locmore.

Sovereign Court

I've got the same line of thinking as Smoothie. Going to stick with the one archetypes instead of more. I don't think Tyrant is going to miss out on anything not taking more.

Frog God Games is one of my favorites, so I'm happy to hear they're going to be an inspiration. I managed to run half of The Slumbering Tsar before the group broke up. It was delightfully terrible for everyone involved. My group agreed to a meat grinder and definitely got it.

Tyrant will be up finished tonight. I have a tiny bit more work to do and he's good.

Sovereign Court

Oh man, two free archetypes? Right now I've got Tyrant set up with one each. I thought he was ready to post but I guess it'll wait until we get clarification.

SmooshieBanana wrote:

Knight of Rust - Tyrant - Male Gria (Kolbold) race - Blue Mage/Dragoner Berserker

He's actually a Dragonborn equivalent, but claims he's a Kobold due to backstory reasons. Just wanted to clarify! Thanks for coming up with the list.

Sovereign Court

I assumed two classes, and then a free archetype for both sides of things. Seems in line with the power level we're getting up to.

Sovereign Court

I'm down for anything as far as gestalt archetypes go. I'll pump Tyrant into the stratosphere if given the chance, but it's not something I necessarily need.

Thinking on it, actually. Would we have gestalt archetypes for both classes or just one? If just one, then Blue Mage and Monsterous Shifter would be my go to, but if it's both then stacking Dragon Form with Rage is going to be... woo boy. That's going to be big.

Sovereign Court

Alright! Fluff incoming. Crunch is at 75%.

Name: "Tyrant," formerly Torelo
Species: Gria (equivalent to Dragonborn or Half Dragon, says he's a Kobold if asked.)
Class 1: Blue Mage
Class 2: Dragoner Berserker

Appearance:
Tyrant stands nearly seven feet tall with a barrel chest and heavy footfalls. His scales are predominantly blue, though they range from white, gray, and black spots near his arms and legs. (Similar) Although they're constantly darting to search the surrounding, Tyrant's black eyes are often half closed, making it appear as though he's squinting at everything that has his attention. There are plenty of scars that prevent his scales from growing back correctly, mostly around the arms, and one large scar on the left side of his neck that looked as though it should have been fatal.

Despite him saying he is a Kobold, he is obviously not a kobold.

Backstory:
If you were to ask the Kobolds of the Molto Warren, then Torelo was a product of immaculate conception. Born to the Prophetess seemingly overnight, Torelo’s coming was heralded as an omen of the Draconic Prophecy and a great boon to the Warren. After all, a winged Kobold was something you would only hear of in legends. Despite looking nothing like a Kobold, Tyrant was accepted by all but the most skeptical of believers.

Torelo grew quickly, and he grew large. Initially, the Gix (hunters and soldiers) were the ones in charge of training him. They took the growing warrior out of the warren often to learn to fight and hunt. It did not take long for Torelo to get the hang of tracking and, with his size being far above those of his kobold brethren, often brought home more dangerous game alone that would have taken a team to bring down. As such, Torelo began hunting alone to improve his survival instincts and fighting skills, claiming the Gix that now followed him into battle slowed him down.

It was around this time that the abilities the Prophetess foretold became apparent. On a hunt, Torelo stumbled across a monster much larger and hardier than what he was used to. A bulette. Savage, angry creatures that burrowed through the ground. A foe like that would have no problem coming into the Warren to eat should it so choose. Despite knowing it was likely well above his skill level, Torelo went after the beast. A monster like that would terrorize his home as it pleased, which was something he could not allow.

It was found alarmingly close to his home, sunbathing in the hot summer sun. The bulette was a small specimen, perhaps a child, or a teen, covered in bluish green plates. Torelo knew he would have the drop on it and unfurled his wings to approach from the air. His heart pounded as he drew near his prey, and despite his confidence, Torelo’s first strike failed to make an impactful wound. The creature roared awake, and their fight began earnestly.

As the hunter started taking more and more wounds, the bulette’s impressive armor barely appeared dented. It was during this time that Torelo’s first transformation came about. In his rage over his lack of martial prowess to take this creature down, Torelo’s wings grew, his flesh warped and elongated, and there he stood as an honest-to-goodness dragon. There was not time to wonder what happened, he accepted it, and knew that despite the change he was on the brink of death. Taking to the sky, Torelo led the bulette away from the warren until he was satisfied that it would not turn around and find his home again.

Injured and exhausted from his flight, the dragon form did not last much longer once the danger passed. Torelo made a small shelter and began resting. In the morning, he awoke slightly refreshed, and returned home using his tracking skills to avoid unwanted combat. After speaking with his mother and the chieftain about his experience the kobolds held a feast. The prophecy was coming true! Torelo was removed from the Gix unit and began learning how to properly become an Iejirastrix (priest, prophet, and magic-men) like the Prophetess.

Learning came easily for the young man, and he gathered quite a bit of knowledge. How to speak the languages of the lessers outside of the warren in case of a diplomatic issue, the history of the kobold race and how they came to be where they are today, stories of monsters that roamed the world both near and far, and more. Torelo’s schooling was extensive and this thirst for it was unquenchable. Some of the Ternmolik (farmers, craftsmen, and gatherers) were even instructed to go out and search for books and knowledge to return with. However, with his studies taking over his active role in hunting and protecting territory, Torelo became more violent as his outlet of aggression was taken away from him.

The Prophetess attempted to teach him magic. He understood the theories behind it and could hold quite in-depth conversations about it with her at length, but he found himself unable to cast magic of the Black or White variety. Frustrated, he started looking into lesser known forms of magic. Namely, Blue Magic. Thinking back to that day he fled from the bulette, Torelo decided to himself, “If a mere monster could beat me, then I’ll just have to become more monster than the monster.”

It was this thinking that turned Torelo down his path of savage brutality. The books on Blue Magic were few and far between, especially as far from civilization as they were, but the Ternmolik brought back what they could find. It proved enough, and Torelo became a dragon capable of using the spells of monsters. Despite this change in Torelo’s personality, the kobolds were excited. This was the one who would guide them to glory! A great warlord of the future!

Just as the Prophetess had given up her name after becoming a full-fledged mage of the warren, Torelo was asked to do the same. However, as the hope of the future, they allowed him to come up with his own. It did not take him long. If he were to become a warlord, then he would need a name that would strike fear into the hearts of those who were his first targets, the humans. It was this thought that led him to take the name Tyrant, a word that all humans should understand. Thus, he shed his old name and was born anew.

Time passed quickly for Tyrant as he learned and grew. Months passed, then years, and then the Gix started reporting strange signs that sounded incredibly similar to the markings of a bulette. Tyrant could not contain himself. Giving the Prophetess and chieftain warning, he received leave to go after it. He began tracking.

Tracking a bulette was difficult. Most of its time was spent under the ground and they rarely surfaced except to enjoy the sun and hunt. Knowledge, however, was a form of power. Tyrant had studied the hunting patterns of bulette, and used that knowledge and his own instinct to predict the path it would take. Tracking was slow going, but every time he found signs that he was heading in the right direction his patience renewed. Eventually, after many days of travel, Tyrant was successful in his hunt. Just like before, he found the bulette basking in the sun, full from its latest meal. That blue-green hide shimmered under the light; if it wasn’t the same bulette from before, it was at least related.

No longer was he that scared young man who thought only of protecting his warren. This was a man out to prove to himself that he had grown by leaps and bounds. Picking up a rather hefty rock, Tyrant threw it while approaching the beast. There would be no sneak attacks here, just a fight between two savage monsters.

And that is exactly what happened. Their battle tore up the trees, the ground, and broke apart rocks. Every time Tyrant felt his consciousness slipping, he cast a spell to regain his health and continued his assault on the bulette, fighting with tooth and claw and wings in his dragon form. Just as the bulette’s survival instincts kicked in, realizing that it was no longer the ultimate predator and attempting to flee, Tyrant released a breath weapon the likes of which it had not seen before, surprising even himself. As the dragon reverted into the humanoid form, the bulette breathed its last breath. Tyrant roared into the air with triumph, knowing nothing would dare come after him despite how bloody, bruised, and tired he was. The fight truly tested his limits.

Making camp nearby, Tyrant rested and healed from his battle until his fatigue went away. Every day he would remove the plates from the bulette, tanning the skin and preparing the flesh. There was no need to rush; the quarry was caught, and his trophies were claimed. From his ingenuity and knowledge, he crafted himself some leather armor from the skin of the bulette, putting everything he could into it. Then, he returned home to tell the tale of his glory.

But not all was well at the warren. Returning home, he caught news from the farming Ternmolik that the chieftain and Prophetess had been disposed of. While he was gone, a Yellow Dragon named Chigrité had come with demands that the Kobolds follow it or be destroyed. While many of the kobolds consented to living under the rule of a real, living dragon, those who were close to Tyrant, including his mother, refused, stating they already had a dragon to follow to glory. The Yellow Dragon laughed at this and ended their lives in seconds. The rest of the kobolds quickly fell in line.

As the Ternmolik explained to him what had happened, Tyrant was forced to piece some of the puzzle together on his own. They were not learned workers; they only knew that a dragon had come to nest at their warren. But through clues and questions, Tyrant was able to conclude that he would not be able to fight on par with this dragon as he had the bulette. It was not from fear that he came to this. No, he felt more confident in himself than ever after his most recent hunt. It was the knowledge that he accumulated, the fighting sense he had learned through blow after blow, and the understanding of his own limitations that he realized returning home would send him to his grave.

After inquiring about the safety of the warren and its people, Tyrant was satisfied that the dragon would not bring destruction to his people, and that not much has functionally changed. He mourned the loss of his mother and vowed that he would return some day. There was no place for savage brutality at this moment, for he had knowledge. As he headed towards the human lands to grow as both a fighter and a mage, and to learn firsthand what made them so different from his kind, Tyrant kept two pieces of knowledge close to his heart, right next to the memory of his mother.

One: dragons were powerful, but slow to move and slow to grow.

And two: he, too, was a dragon, albeit one who moved and grew at a much, much faster rate.

Motivation:
Tyrant wants to find and fight monsters and gain new knowledge. Small monsters, large monsters, weak monsters, deadly monsters; it matters not to Tyrant. He knows that there is something to gain from nearly every monster whether it is new experiences or spells. Although he believes humans and other races are below him, he admits that their knowledge of vast topics is impressive. Because of that, he often wants to fight with the strongest and speak with the smartest, kobold or not.

Tactics:
At range, Tyrant will use a longbow and spells, but in a close combat fight he'll use his natural attacks. This starts off with just a Slam attack, but when he takes damage and transforms into a dragon, he'll have access to a breath weapon (60 foot line of Water) as well as a Bite, Claws, and Wing Attacks. He may also retain his Slam, though that is a GM decision. He has a lot of hit points (Barbarian hit points, which is 30 at first level due to Static Hit Points, and Dragon Form adds a hit point per level) and likely won't have too high an AC. When he transforms, he'll Intimidate like Dazzling Display, and he has access to Powerful Manuevers with bonuses to Sundering. All in all, he'll have a pretty brutal fighting style.

In FF, casters don't have a spellbook, so there's no cost there.

However, if you adventure and stumble across a cache of scrolls, you can add them all for free. We're starting at level 5, which means we must have done some adventuring to gain the XP necessary, yeah?

Likewise, there's no reason you couldn't be a part of school, guild, House, etc, that gave free or greatly discounted access to spells, either in scroll form or via a spellcaster who teaches you.

Fair. If you could get them for free, then absolutely. I was more pointing out that you can add them by buying scrolls, which is where the cost comes.

The Blue Mage can't learn from scrolls, and it specifies that you get extra for free for every level after first because of that. If you can get them through backstory stuff rather than paying for the scrolls, then more power to you.

Tyrant update: I'll have backstory up tomorrow. Crunch will come after.

Sovereign Court

There are rules for learning new spells like you would in Pathfinder.

Sovereign Court

Tyrant's going to be fast. Likely 40 foot movement speed unless I decide on a different rage power, and 60 feet at other times. But I'll look into it, there's feats to spare.

Seb, Blue Mage gives a Slam attack, but doesn't specify it only works in base form. Would you rule it works in forms other than base or nah? Also, monster feats like Improved Natural Attack, what's the stance on these?

Sovereign Court

Gria Blue Dragoner. Fixing up stats while I'm at lunch

Stats

Str = 20 = 5+5+6 (+2R)(+2 Dragoner bonus)
Dex = 12 = 4+4+4
Con = 16 = 5+5+6
Wis = 12 = 5+5+4 (-2R)
Int = 17 = 6+5+5(+1 ability score enhancement)
Cha = 16 = 5+5+4 (+2R)

Planning on Intimidating Transformation as a Rage Power, so big Intimidate bonuses incoming.

How often will Suna be front and center? I've started calling this character Tyrant in my head, and he's going to be in the thick of things as much as possible.

Sovereign Court

Reroll chosen set: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Doesn't help me at all, but that's okay. I'm pretty happy with mine.

I did decide on switching to Gria. Right now I'm looking at standard Blue Mage and Dragoner Berserker. Could still change, but I've thought about it a lot by now. My next days off are Mon-Tue so I'll keep thinking about backstory then fully work through the crunch.

Sovereign Court

Alright, so an update

Stats: Roll 24d6 twelve times, pick a pool set
Level 5
Max HP with Static Base HP from Optional Systems
Standard money
Background skills
6 traits (none from the same category)
Moogle (Elephant) in the Room Feat Tax removal
Leaning Full Gestalt
Magic IS technology.

Pretty sure that's where we're at.

Update on my character: Still Au Ra (though might go Gria, which is another dragon person). Thinking right now in mixing Blue and Red, get some nice Purple going on.

Some things that need to be decided on:

1) Full gestalt. A few of us have said we would like to upgrade to this.
2) Traits. Seb suggested 6, but only 1 from each category. Personally am okay with that.
3) Seb's feat every level, which includes gestalt(ie 2 per level). Would love, but might be too much.

I also have another question:

4) Gestalt archetypes? Ie, you can take an archetype and not give up any class features. Same as feats per level, might be too much.

1 through 3 get a thumbs up from me. Even though it would benefit me greatly as a player, gestalt archetypes seems incredibly excessive in this system in particular. PF1 I'd be all for it, but there are a lot of archetypes that just downright replace 95% of the original classes. I think it'd be too much for both 3 and 4.

Though, maybe the option of 3 and 4? Either choose two classes, or choose a class and an archetype. Lord knows I've been bouncing back and forth between a regular Blue Mage and a Monstrous Shifter, which is one of those that replaces everything from the original Blue Mage.

Sovereign Court

If things change to Gestalt, then there's another change I'll be making. It opens up so much. Will stick to being a Blue Mage, though.

So right now we're looking at this for character creation

Stats: Roll 24d6 twelve times, pick a pool set
Level 5
Max HP with Static Base HP from Optional Systems
Standard money
Background skills
Sub-Job
Moogle (Elephant) in the Room Feat Tax removal

Unconfirmed but interest shown
Traits?
Upgrade to Full Gestalt?

I don't think there was anything else.

Sovereign Court

Ah, my bad. That was the first link. Sorry, I was too excited.

However, after looking things over , if I play a Medic I really want to make it a Tonkin, which isn't really supported by the setting. Murderous Aura healer would be hilarious.

I've decided on an Au Ra Xaela (Could be Dragonborn) Blue Mage with the Fighter Variant Multiclass. I plan to make an up close and personal "I'm a bigger monster than you" type fully utilizing natural attacks.

A couple more questions. Since we're using the Optional Systems, which level of Variable MP are we using? Low, High, Diminished Low, Diminished High?

Guardian Pacts, are we starting with one or will they come in to play later?

As someone who wants to play a character not at all tech inclined, I have no chocobo in that race. However, whenever I think of Steampunk I think it's either very advanced with entire cities running on steam, or like Wild Wild West where there's bits and pieces of it here, but the tech level is definitely higher than it actually was in those days.

Stats

Str = 20 = 6+6+5 (+2R)(+1 ability score enhancement)
Dex = 14 = 5+5+4
Con = 16 = 5+5+5
Wis = 14 = 4+4+4 (+2R)
Int = 15 = 6+5+5
Cha = 12 = 5+5+4 (-2R)

Sovereign Court

I adore the FF20 system. I don't know much about Eberron, but I am very interested. I'll make a dice pool roll now, and I'll start looking through character stuff today or tomorrow.

When do you think you'll close recruitment? Deadlines are good to know.

Dice Rolls:

24d6: 24d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 4, 5, 4, 4, 3, 2, 2, 3, 2, 1, 3, 5, 2, 1, 6, 6, 6, 1, 2, 1, 6) = 76
24d6: 24d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 1, 4, 2, 1, 3, 3, 5, 5, 3, 2, 4, 5, 5, 1, 5, 4, 3, 1, 6, 5, 1) = 81

24d6: 24d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5, 6, 6, 2, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 1, 4, 4, 2, 5, 5, 6, 4, 4, 3) = 103
24d6: 24d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 1, 5, 6, 2, 5, 6, 2, 5, 5, 5, 4, 2, 5, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3, 1, 2, 3) = 84
24d6: 24d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 3, 5, 6, 2, 1, 1, 3, 1, 3, 6, 2, 1, 6, 2, 1, 6, 6, 4, 6, 2, 2) = 85
24d6: 24d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 1, 1, 4, 2, 6, 4, 4, 2, 3, 1, 2, 5, 3, 3, 1, 3, 1, 3, 2) = 70
24d6: 24d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 1, 4, 3, 5, 5, 3, 5, 1, 4, 1, 3, 4, 3, 4, 6, 6, 2, 1, 1, 5, 5) = 83

Likely take that 103 set when I come around to it.

There's also this site which looks like it's been constantly updated, even this year. Is this an acceptable source compared to the other two?

Right now I'm thinking either a Medic (on the site) or a Blue Mage. It's been a while since I've looked it over, and my initial "What do I want to do" changes really quickly.

The fey that took her changed shapes on a whim, from man to woman to dog to cat to Sophia's appearance herself. Although she did not know what this fey looked like originally, it treated her well enough. It tricked her on occasion, had fits of madness on others, but despite its attitude Sophia could tell that it was powerful. It garnered respect from other fey no matter where they went, and that respect was given to the girl as well.

As Sophia got older, the fey decided to allow her to call it Father. This pleased the child, and she grew to rely on Father more and more. Once she was old enough, her education began. Learning all sorts of things about the First World and the Material Plane, Sophia was a quick study and did her best to make Father proud. Tutors were brought in to aid her, and she was treated much like the daughter of a nobleman.

Not all was well, however. Soon after, Father started becoming bored of her. Some pranks were becoming mean spirited. Others were downright malicious. Sophia would often overhear Father talking to other fey while disappointed, wondering when "the awakening" would take place. It had been years, after all. The Kitsune woman, no longer a child, did her best to please Father, even going so far as to start performing pranks of her own. This certainly made their relationship trend upwards after a while. One day, however, she awoke naked in a field with a burning headache and an ankle that hurt every time it was used.

Sophia very quickly learned that she was not in the First World anymore. With luck, she was able to steal clothing from a nearby village, using her abilities to change into a human so that, if caught, she would not be too suspicious. It did not take long to realize that she was in a kingdom called Talingarde. However, Sophia was hungry and penniless.

However, despite her wounded leg and the stick she used for a walking stick, many found the form she took to be beautiful. As she gained knowledge and experience, the world opened up ever so slightly around her. The Kitsune learned. A smile here, a touch of the arm there, glances left lingering from opposite sides of the room. While Sophia Blair was no longer treated as a noblewoman, she began to plan.

Days at the library turned to months. As she learned from books, she learned about the powers that awoke within her in that field. Her understanding of the kingdom grew, and her understanding of herself intrigued her. By all accounts, the powers coursing through her veins and floated through her mind should not have been able to mingle so... thoroughly. Thoughts flitted back to Father and his words spoken without care. It all came together in a grand flash of inspiration.

This conglomeration of power was her awakening, caused and enhanced by Father's meddling.

Anger rose through Sophia as she realized that her entire life so far had been an experiment to remove the boredom from a couple of decades. She had been tossed into the world. Likely, he could still watch her, or at least hear of her exploits. The despair felt at being abandoned never came, however. Riding that anger, Sophia pledged that she would once again become a Lady.

With the knowledge she had gathered over time, "Lady" Sophia Blair returned to town with a brand new coat of arms and all the documents required to prove her pedigree. Finding like-minded individuals, she had forged the paperwork and circumstances of her birth, and immediately began infiltrating Talingarde high society.

Potential suitors came easy. Suspicion on her upbringing came even easier. However, with her natural ability to lie and her intensive knowledge of all things Talingarde and noble, the suspicion soon tapered off. Sophia easily accepted gifts from her noble suitors, investigating each house that approached her to find the best option.

As careful as Sophia had been in this dangerous game, it only took one slip up. A careless waggle of the tongue when silence and a coy smile would have been better. She had become too arrogant. Knowledge about life on the streets, spoken carelessly in the wrong company, began to snowball. With her silver tongue, Sophia never thought that she would be on the receiving end of an investigation.

However, that is exactly what happened. "Lady" Sophia Blair had a lot of power in her social circle now. A diviner, hired in private by one of the fathers of one of her many suitors, began to watch her. Through various magical means, the diviner was able to find the truth in the almost ironclad web of lies that Sophia had woven around herself.

It did not take long for word to get out that Sophia Blair was not a high noble as she had been touting, but a commoner with unknown origins. She could not tell them where she was from, and any truths told about being abducted as a child to the First World was met with scoffs and ridicule. The once powerful lady had once again found herself at the bottom. Tears and pleas could not save her, she who had been labeled as a threat against the security of the kingdom. With claims of how much damage she could have caused and the ire of all the nobles she had tricked, Sophia Blair was sentenced to a life of hard labor in the salt mines of Brandescar Prison.

Nutshelling:
Sophia Blair is going to be a caster focusing on Enchantment and buffing, as well as being the party face with fantastic bluffing ability and overall Good At Knowledges person. A lot of good debuffs are also Compulsions, which she gets a bonus to DCs on, such as Hold Person and Hideous Laughter. There will not be a lot of healing, but the class combination opens up a lot of usable wands even without UMD.

That went for way longer than I thought it was going to. I got really into it.

I'm incredibly interested. I just need to figure out which of my ideas I want to go with for an evil game. I'll get something up before Christmas for sure though.

Stat: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Stat: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Stat: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Stat: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Oof. Alright. Can still make that work.

Sovereign Court

Looks good to me.

Sovereign Court

I'm interested! I can play an 11 Sorc focused on controlling, 10 Evangelist Cleric focused on buffing and healing out of combat, and low tier I have a 9 Gnome twf Warpriest. I also have a Brawler grappler who I think is 8, might have turned 9, it's been a while.

I did run this previously, but it's been a while and I forgot most of it.

Sovereign Court

Actually I would have a level 13 Vital striker or a 13-14 Flowing Monk. But it looks like my cleric would have been redundant anyway.

Sovereign Court

Hello! I noticed that this table had at least one open slot. By the time the table starts on the 9th I'll have a level 12 Vital Strike monster with a Butcher Axe, a level 12 Evangelist Cleric of Desna focusing on buffing, or a level 13 (or 14 by that time) Flowing Monk whom likes to trip and Repo and force conditions like sickened, flat footed, and potentially stunned. He also forces AoOs.

I'd love to join up if possible!

Sovereign Court

I would like a spot, too. Would prefer Zurnzal or Rataji.

Sovereign Court

I also have a level 11 Flowing Monk who had a couple of levels collecting GM credit and I'm looking forward to playing him again.

Sovereign Court

I am also interested in learning more. The ideas are churning in my head!

Sovereign Court

Decided on a Gnome Shaman of the Life Spirit. Background and stats to come tomorrow.

Sovereign Court

I'm interested and have no experience with Rise of the Runelords. I'll get a character up either tonight or tomorrow night for submission.

Sovereign Court

Sadly it looks like I'm going to have to take my hat out of this ring. I already played this one. Sorry! I should have paid more attention.

Sovereign Court

I'd also like to sign up and have a few options.

Verdant Sorcerer 11 (battlefield control focus)
Tripping focused Flowing Monk (8-9)
Evangelist Cleric 10 (less healing more buffing)
Gnome Battle Ladder Warpriest 8 (twf and slow as all get out)

Sovereign Court

Profession butcher: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Day job!

Sovereign Court

Excellent, thanks, Chill.

Sovereign Court

Also very interested. When's the cutoff date? I'm in the middle of a move right now and can't sit down to make a big level 17 for a couple of days.

Level 17:

Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Level 1:

Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Stats: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Sovereign Court 4/5

Want: Catfolk

For trade: Samsaran, Ghoul Corruption Boon

Please send me a PM if interested!
