Oh well. Have fun everybody!

Sounds like a good idea...

So maybe he has learned the tricks of the trade from Radavel?

I kind of assumed that once the DM picked some people, the idea would be that they'd been adventuring together for a while. Otherwise I'm not really sure what the motivation to team up for the festival is given that there's motivation not to unless you trust your teammates pretty well.

But then, I'm clearly not the DM, so I don't know what the plan is for tying the chosen characters together.

Also, picked K'leck's traits and added in even more gear. Might be changing that about since I can't decide if I should get a magical weapon (other than his +1 armor spikes) or focus on making his non-fort saves less horrible. Currently leaning towards the latter.

I've made a few modifications to K'leck to level him up. Still missing some traits, and I've only bought 2 items, so I still have a fair amount of cash to spend. The feats, skills, HP, ability scores, and rage powers are all there though.

I don't think metagaming should be an issue. And I can generally at least 1x/day.

Stat/HP rolls:

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14 5
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15 7
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9 -1
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15 7
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12 2
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10 0
Total: 20 pts

HP: 12d12 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 6, 6, 5, 6, 2, 1, 11, 9, 1) = 57 = 10*6.5 + 11 + 9 = 85

Dotting for interest. But first, important question: Is it a problem for you if I've run this module before (and therefore am somewhat familiar with it)? I don't think keeping IC/OOC knowledge should be a problem, but I'd understand if you'd prefer someone who knows nothing about the game.

If you're ok with that, I'd like to re-stat K'leck, my Shoanti human barbarian. He was in another game that got cut short. The basic idea behind him is that I want him to pick up enemies and use them to bludgeon other enemies. Or possibly throw one enemy at another (this can be accomplished through some of the barbarian rage abilities). The thing is, you can't really do that effectively until higher levels, and IIRC, 13 was about the level you need to be to have all the abilities.

As far as personality, K'leck is a generally friendly guy who doesn't take life too seriously. He'll knock you out in a bar fight one day and buy you a drink the next.

Alas, and I never got the chance to start throwing people around. Oh wells. It was fun while it lasted. :-)

K'leck heartily pats Fleck on the back, grinning. "Is much better now. Thank you friend for shiny magicks." He seems in good spirits on the walk back to the tavern. Almost as though he's completely oblivious to how close he came to possible death just now.

Once back at the tavern, he raises his mug happily in salute to their patron and great giver of tasty drinks. However, he chokes slightly when he sees the lizard creature. He frowns, glances a few times between his drink and the man/woman before him. He soon shrugs and downs the rest of his drink, a grin returning to his face. Must be knock on head. Or drink is actually better than it first appears. Should try more, just to be sure.

After several more drinks, a very happy-looking K'leck takes his money and turns in for the night.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck shambles over to the rest of the group, yawning widely. The crazed look has gone from his expression, but he's covered in a disturbing amount of zombie-gore. "Was good fight. Is time to drink to celebrate and then sleep, yes?"

He then seems to notice the unconscious wizard. "Ha! Run-away man come back for nap! Perhaps was helped by punchy fists of dwarf friend Khron, eh?" He pats the dwarf on the back, though it seems to lack some of its usual vigor. "I carry him back to tavern for drinks as people make talky time with him, yes?" He pulls out rope and makes to start tying the wizard up, pausing before he gets too far. "Perhaps magicky peoples look for stick of teleporting, so he can't disappear again first?"

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

That's how I've played spell strike. But I believe that if you're right next to the person you're attacking when you cast the spell, you need to cast defensively or else you provoke an AoO. Also, if you deliver the spell with your weapon, while you get to do weapon damage, I believe it's no longer a touch attack.

With a growl, K'leck looks around for more zombies. Seeing none nearby he roars his triumph to the skies. In his muddled state, he doesn't realize the wolf off in the distance is an enemy and not just another of Flynn's animal friends. As his heart slows and the red clears from his vision, he feels a great tiredness overtake him and blinks a few times blearily, absently trying to wipe some of the gore off his clothes with little success. With a silly grin on his face, he starts wandering towards the rest of his party, his weaving path making him appear more drunk than all of his alcohol the previous night.

Moving and exiting rage.

With a growl, K'leck advances on one of the remaining zombies and strikes out against it.

K'leck laughs hysterically as he sees his prey move closer towards him, managing to sound not quite fully sane.

Spear: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Assuming that will also drop this zombie that already appears wounded
As a crazy grin spreads across his face, he tilts his head slightly at an odd angle, giving the zombie next to Flynn a murderous smile before stalking towards his next victim. Attack followed by a 5ft step. Ignore the x of the dead zombie right below him.

Just a heads up, I will be traveling/at a conference from this Monday the 10th to the following Monday, Novemeber 17th. I don't know how much time/internet access I'll have during that period, so feel free to bot me.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

Completely oblivious to the existance of some wizard controlling the zombies, K'leck growls and stalks towards the next unfortunately zombie to fall into his sights, lunging viciously with his spear.

Did K'leck not take down his zombie? He had a To Hit of 25 and a damage of 15, so if Ezra and Flynn took down one, I would have thought that would take down the other, meaning Khron currently doesn't have a target.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Still feeling a mighty anger burning through his veins, K'leck roars and charges the closest zombie, striking at it with his spear.

To Hit: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 = 25

I think it's the zombie's turn?

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

With a great bellow of pain, K'leck's vision begins to swim. A red haze starts to cover his eyes, although in his still slightly addled state, he's unable to tell if it's due to the blood running from his head or due to his rising rage. Who was this stupid ogre who dared think he could stand up to the mighty K'leckemaki Mauna'kiola'ho'okuku'meakua of the revered Shriikirri-Quah? He would show the foul beast how it was done! None would stand before his might!

Perhaps not the smartest plan, but K'leck is over confident. So he's going into a rage and attacking.

To Hit: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14 And of course, rolls min damage

AC is now 16, 7 rds of rage remaining

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

With a roar, K'leck surges forward, drawing a short spear to throw at the ogre.

To Hit: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 2 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Move while drawing weapon, standard action to attack, still have my previous spear for melee.

Convinced that they will have some time to see any enemies attacking from the rear of the vault, K'leck runs to catch up with his fellows.

Run action for x4 movement. But something wonky seems to be going on in roll20 as K'leck is stuck on a layer behind the dirt, making him invisible. I made a text note to the right of his location though, so as to mark where he is.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

People are very far back for having moved already. I guess this means K'leck is spending his turn chillin'.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck continues to act as rear guard, fully expecting the groaning from the back of the tomb to turn into an attack.

So I guess K'leck is delaying until the others move or until he sees that an ally is in trouble and needs help.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck grips his spear, looking around uncertainly at the group. Seeing that Gotin is focusing on events outside, he chooses to instead focus his attention on the wall at the back of the room in case the wall suddenly opens.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck quietly stows the crowbar and prepares to grab his spear. Well, that explain where big run-away man's buddy was. He glances back and forth between the groans from behind and the doorway through which the ogre can be seen.

Move action to stow crowbar, then a second move action that will either be to draw spear or to move and draw spear at the same time.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck continues to try to open the coffin.

Do I need to roll again? 'cause it seemed like we got interrupted before my original roll got used, and it was a pretty good roll. And the Paizo dice roller hasn't liked me recently... >.>

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

"Is Count sure love even still in coffin? If run-away man responsible for zombie men and he live here, maybe woman already disturbed? Would Count know this thing? With magic maybe?" K'leck looks expectantly at the spellcasters, who must clearly have all the answers through their magical connection to the universe.

If there doesn't seem to be any obvious way the Count would know if his love was disturbed, K'leck will continue. Otherwise he'll probably leave it be.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck stretches and tosses the remains of his apple outside before pulling out a crowbar again to try to open the coffin. "Maybe Glifdore have other ideas of where to find disappearing man."

Strength: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 = 22

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck nods at Gotin's plan, still munching on his apple. He follows Ezra and Yorrick about, keeping a lookout for possible threats. "I wonder why he not come back with big, hulking troll friend. I bet he not run away."

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck blinks in confusion. "Where little man go? Is no fair teleporting away!" He looks around scratching his head.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Most likely failing to see anything, he looks at his companions expectantly, pulling out an apple to munch on.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck continues to try to grapple the spellcaster.

grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck moves forward and attempts to grapple Kathal.

Grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck jumps down from his tree with his spear, casually munching on an apple. While his two companions go to talk with the spellcaster, he starts casually walking about looking for signs of the ogre or troll that lives within the crypt.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

Actually, K'leck was going to be inside with his -3 stealth. But outside works fine. And this way Flynn isn't alone.

Moving outside, K'leck looks around for a comfortable place to sit. Or maybe a tree to climb into. He then proceeds to take a relaxed, lounging position.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

"I guess this means I should be staying inside." K'leck moves to sit on top of the coffin, prepared to do his waiting from there.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

Not quite; I got a 6 on my perception check earlier. Also, this is clearly to make up for one of my other games where I rolled three nat 1s in a row.

"Looks like someone lives here with an ogre or troll. Surprisingly clean for that, I think. But why people care so much about coffin? Is where troll-man's friend sleep?"

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck looks more closely at the oddly large footprints, trying to identify them.

Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

K'leck nods and boldly goes where no Shoanti has gone before, lighting a torch if necessary.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

Ahh, but you were the one who said it was suspicious. :-P

Also, crowbar

crowbar

Price 2 gp; Weight 5 lbs.

This versatile tool is designed to help pry open whatever the user desires. A crowbar grants a +2 circumstance bonus on Strength checks made to force open a door or chest. If it is used in combat, treat a crowbar as a one-handed improvised weapon that deals bludgeoning damage equal to that of a club of its size.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

"If no one has one, we could always buy one."

Assuming either someone has one or K'leck can go out and buy one.

K'leck places the crowbar next to the lock and tries to heave.

Strength: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27

And with a mighty heave, K'leck breaks the lock, managing to make it look easy. So easy that it's questionable that he even needed the crowbar.

K'leck starts bashing at the lock as he attempts to break it open.

Not sure if you want me to keep rolling strength checks or make attack rolls or what.

K'leck also heads in the direction Gotin came from. Once there, he circles around the building, looking for any other entrances or exits or signs of people in the area. Once his sweep is complete, he moves to listen at the door.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 And he probably doesn't find anything

"This seems to be only entrance. Shall I pick lock?" He pulls out a spear and makes a smashing gesture with its shaft.

Male Human (Shoanti) 8/8 rage Barbarian (Brutal Pugilist, Hurler) 2 (HP 14/22 | AC18 T 12 FF 16 | F 5 R 2 W -1 | Percp 4 | Init 4)

Wiping sweat from his brow, K'leck looks closer at the coffin. "As expected: is empty." He peers more closely at it, looking for signs of a crowbar being using or of something clawing its way out.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Seeing nothing (Most likely), he responds to Yorrick's question. "Maybe it is put back in grave to try to prevent more panic at dead uprising? Or to avoid angry family demanding creation of upstanding squad of soldiers like us to put loved one back to rest?"

He kicks some dirt, clearly ready to start filling the hole back in. "Don't see point in looking at another grave. Unless your magicks tell you otherwise?" It's clear he has a rather fuzzy idea of how magic works.

K'leck frowns. "I think I agree with Ezra. I do not see point in digging up graves. What would we hope to find? It just seem like easy way to give mayor excuse to lock us up. Or is grave robbing not a crime down here?" Unlike Ezra though, his concern seems more practically oriented rather than morally so, and if others insist upon digging up the graves, then, not being one to stand idly by, he will help.
