I just want to verify that the pressure point damage to strength or dexterity is
1 point per sneak dice? So 3d6 sneak damage also grants 3 strength or dexterity damage.

Does this trick have to be announced at the point the GM says, "The troll is attacking you."?

Or does the GM roll, and then you can use the shield trick to beat his roll?

Shield Focus
Source Pathfinder Unchained pg. 131
Related Feat Shield Focus
When an attack is made against you while you are using a shield, you can spend up to 2 stamina points. If you do, the shield’s bonus to AC against that attack increases by an amount equal to the number of stamina points you spent.

"It says- When an attack "is made against you."
"Not an attack "is going to be made against you."

I can see it either way, but looking to clarify, thanks.

Thank you TxSam88,
I really appreciate your helping me.

I am currently made level 3 fighter, but instead I'm thinking about making a switch to barbarian.

I was wondering if this is a good time or should I make 5th level fighter then at 6th, make the switch?

Also, if a fighter goes barbarian, and as a fighter has combat stamina, do I keep the combat stamina and the tricks as a 1st level barbarian, and then when when I switch back to fighter, does he keep rage?

Thanks

Thank you everyone for the feedback, I appreciate it all.

Im playing a third level sorcerer with the psychic bloodline.
Does MENTAL RESISTANCE(EX) and the FEAT: STEADFAST PERSONALITY stack in the WILL SAVE department?

Since a lot of Will Saves are mind affecting, would this be a +6 to the Will Saves when mind affecting is attempted?

If your using two weapons, say 'Hanbo's"
Can you strike with main hand, and trip with off hand?

I was under the impression you could have as many Ioun stones as you could afford and wear, then we found this...

The Ioun stones (DMG, 176) have no limitations on more than one being used, so you can absolutely do that! But they do require attunement, so unless you can attune to more than 3 items, you can only have 3 going at any given time (and no other magic items.)
so the limit is not on the stones, but the attunement.

is this outdated? if it is can you lost the link?

Thank you

Thanks!

I have been researching this topic and I find a lot of views.
I seen a FAQ but then later seen it shot down reopening the question.

Do spell like abilities provoke an AoO if the spells have no somatic or verbal components, only emotional and thought.

Im not saying he cannot get singled out and attacked, just wondering about this AoO.

If he does provoke, then he still gets the opportunity to not provoke by casting defensively.

Yes, if they were allowed to get those spells immediately then the times would be off. It would be like; "OK Paul at 8 AM. You get your first through third level spells but at 2:30 you get your fourth level spell because yesterday that's when you prayed and meditated."
This way it keeps everything on the same page.

If you wait until the next day, when Paul wakes up, he would be like oh no I got a fourth level spell slot.

Regardless, clerics still only cast x amount a day.
That wasn't his question, thanks for playing.

What exactly can the summoner have his summoned
Creatures with an intelligence of 2 do besides fight?

Can the summoner have his summons walk in front of him
clearing the way for traps?

Can the summoner have his summons scout a dungeon hall way
and come back if they encounter something? And to return?

These are just two very basic questions and tasks that seem like
no rolls would be necessary.

What about tasking a dolphin to grab a rope and tow the boat?

Or a bird or eagle to grab an item or carry a rope end from A to b?

****** would any of these tasks require a Handle animal check?

What other basic commands would they understand from summoner to Summoned creatures?

I am wondering what exactly the speed is.
It says 20ft/15ft. What does this mean for a dwarf?

Lamellar (Steel)
Eastern Medium Armor
Cost 150 gp; Weight 35 lbs.
Armor Bonus +6; Max Dex Bonus +3; Armor Check Penalty -5
Arcane Spell Failure Chance 25%; Speed 20 ft./15 ft.

So I am playing a Master Summoner,
and I have a lesser Rod of Giant Summoning.

My question is, when I summon a small creature
and use the rod does the small creature go to medium size?
And medium creatures go to Large? And then Large creatures
go to giant sized?

My Gm says the creatures only go up 1 size step as I illustrated above.

I believe, as the rod states, "causing all of her summoned creatures to gain the giant simple template." -- so regardless if it's small or large, they become giant
size, and every creature regardless of the starting size it gets the giant template, and is giant sized.

OR, is it just 1 step up small to medium, medium to large, large to giant size.

If it is one step sized increase, what's the size bonus'
for creatures small to medium, medium to large, and Large to giant... what's the stat increase if they only go up 1 step?

It is not the same as enlarge.... it goes straight to mentioning the giant template.... "causing all of her summoned creatures to gain the giant simple template."

It's a rod of giant Summoning.... not a rod of enlarge Summoning...

I was under the impression that evil clerics could
still channel energy and heal the living.

So if this is not true, it would be harder for an evil
group to get by and be successful.

Seems to me that even evil deities would want to do something to keep their minions alive longer?.

I understand there are feats that will allow the healing but is this true?

Can a master summoner use this book since it has nothing to do with changing out the Spell slots Mike other rods or feats? Seemed pretty harmless.

I gotcha, but where I'm kind of up is the sentence
That reads; a crocodile can perform a death roll upon
making a successful grapple check.

To me, that reads it rolls right into the death roll after a
Successful grapple.

Kirbdog wrote:

So I can summon a crocodile now, a MS3 spell

I am wondering about the attack.
It reads;
Melee bite +5 [+7] (1d8+4 [ 1d8+6] plus grab )
and tail slap +0 [+2] (1d12+2) [1d12+3]
Special Attack death roll (1d8+6 [ 1d8+9] plus trip )

It further reads under "Death Roll"
When grappling a foe of its size or smaller, a crocodile
can perform a death roll upon making a successful grapple check.

So does all this happen during his full round attack, all st once?

Bite (say it's grab is successful, tailslap, does the death roll, and trips?

Or is it bite/grab next round I'd death roll?

But is that all in one standard action?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Designing a new weapon....
Using the rules under weapons, and designing
A new weapon with DP.
How in the heck do you figure out the gold cost
for the weapon that you want built?

I want a custom made glaive.
I want it to be one step higher in damage,
Aerodynamic,
And blunt and piercing.

If I need to purchase three more design points for
15 gold each I'll do it....

I see no rules that state how to
figure up the gold value of this hand crafted weapon.

Can somebody help me out.

I am looking for ways to make my spells more harder to dispel . I am not having very much luck finding such things but I know there's got to be something out there. Does anybody have any ideas or know of such things.?

So if I summon a badger that goes into a blood rage, and I have augmented summoning, does the summon badger get the strength and constitution bonuses for raging? Or would that be the same sort of bonus that comes with spells like bulls strength and bears endurance?

Or is this rage that the badger is in something totally different, and he gets that bonus for being angry.
Is it a morale Bonus?

Also a Wolverine flies into a rage, is this the same as a badger gets? The badger says blood rage and all I see is the spell blood rage?

So1) wondering what rage the badger gets? Blood rage spell definition or rage like a wolverine?

2) is this rage bonus a morale bonus that allows stacking of stats? With augmented summoning?

When I look at the Summon Monster stats for Summon Monster spells and expanded summon monster spells, those creatures do not have the augmented summoning bonus figured in. Some do some do not. So I am asking, do I just manually add the strength and constitution bonus in there for the ones that do not reflect? I'm sure we've all ran into this for those who have played summoners so I'm just wondering if that's what I do

Got it,
They can be buffed, but not with Bull strength or Bear endurance, Because that is the same sort of buff they already have received due to the augmented Summoning feat. Any other buff is OK.

Thanks!

Can a Master Summoner or anybody else able to buff the master summoners summon creature with spells such as bulls strength and other like spell magic?
I have read a lot of conflicting information so I thought it would be best to come here and get a solid opinion.

I am a level 3 Master Summoner,
My question is-

1) When I summon a Giant Ant Worker the attacks show this;
Melee bite +3 [+5] (1d6+2 [1d6+4] plus grab) , sting +3 [+5] (1d4+2 [ 1d4+4] plus poison)

So, The ant makes a bite roll, it then rolls CMB... If that hits Then he rolls sting attack, and gets the damage and poison damage? is this all in one attack if he makes all his rolls successful?

2) is all that applied to a smite attack as well?

I’m playing a Gnome Summoner, currently 2nd level.

Do I need to make concentration check for the spell
like ability that is a standard action? Is that provoking
An attack of opportunity if I’m not in hand to hand range,
but perhaps an enemy with a ranged attack?

Just wondering… seems like the casting time is pretty fast.

Speaker for the Dead wrote:
As long as the spell you’re casting takes a standard action then yes.

Am I able to get in an attack if I don’t move the 30’ movement, staying still and attacking with a ranged weapon?

So are you able to cast spells, and still get a 30' movement in during your action?

I need some solid clarification regarding
this combat action. My party has been looking
for days at old threads and what not, and we seem
to agree but then find something that throws it off.

Here's the scenario-

1) Hunter's mountain lion attacks-
He hits with a bite and now gets his plus grab,
the lion makes his CMB roll for the grab and latch's on with its mouth/bite, and starting the grapple.

2) The bad guy goes.
Say the bad guy try's to break the hold, but fails.

3) The mountain lion attacks again.
It rolls CMB at +5 and say, maintains its grab. Its now fully grappled.
(does the bite it maintained get auto-damage?)
Additionally, since it now made the +5CMB roll the lion gets the Rake ability.
(is that all the lion gets for damage? Auto damage from bite and rake?

Then repeats step 2 and 3 if need be?

**If this is incorrect, how does the lion get his Rake attack, step by step?**

Thanks for your help and insight.

What source book has the Shadow Echelon?
Im looking for the right one in Herolabs...

Get Heighten Spell; cast Mount at whatever level you like.
Cast Alter Summoned Monster on the summoned mount to
get a 2 hour/level creature you choose...

Does this work?

Is this limited to level 1 creatures?

What about phantom steed? It’s 3rd a level spell...

So the question is.......
1) Can you change the original creature you
get as a mount or phantom steed this way?

2) And if so, what LEVEL of creature do you get to pick
from to change the mount creature, if the spell levels
are 1st and 3rd levels?

I know this question is very very busy,
your help and insight is very much appreciated.

My 2 question refers to time.
I’m playing a level 1 Master Summoner, and Summon Monster
is 1 full round to cast.

If I take the feat Fast Spell and make that full round action
a standard action then.......

1) what can I do in that remains time?
2) And when would The summoned creature show up?

I have a level 16 fighter, strait fighter class...,
I also have budget of 150k.

I’m looking to get some new armor.
What in your opinions would be a good fit. I have my own ideas
But I want to see if I overlooked something.

So if the bow is Composite +3... and you only
have a strength of +1, ..... is it a -2 to shoot and
only gives a +1Strength?

Will Bulls Strength help with damage?

I’m reading about the Devine Hunter,
and the way im reading it around 4th level or so
They can get a second AC us this right?

If the divine hunter selects the animal domain, she does not gain a second animal companion upon reaching an effective cleric level of 4th. When the divine hunter would gain that ability, her animal companion instead gains two ability score increases (gaining +1 to two different ability scores or +2 to one ability score). If her animal companion dies or is released, when she gains a new one, it benefits from this ability score increase

So if you choose something other then Animal
Domain you qualify for a second AC?

If the party finds a scroll, a 5th level “Breath of Life,
Can that scroll be CL5? Or must it be a higher CL like CL9?

Thanks.

Guns: While still expensive and tricky to wield, early firearms are readily available. Instead of requiring the Exotic Weapon Proficiencyfeat, all firearms are martial weapons.

Can you pick a firearm pistol with the heirloom trait?

thanks

OK-
so if I make it a +1 as my daily choice, I cannot have the other abilities on it?
one or the other?

I have to already have a +1 weapon to be able
to use use the power of brilliant energy, defending, disruption, flaming, frost, keen, or shock???

So, I cannot make the weapon a +1 in one round and use the
power of brilliant energy, defending, disruption, flaming,
frost, keen, and shock the next round?

I need to wait until 8th level to do this?

It states- "The weapon must have at least a
+1 enhancement bonus before any other special abilities can be
added."

At 4th level, the warpriest gains the ability to enhance one of his
sacred weapons with divine power as a swift action. This power
grants the weapon a +1 enhancement bonus.

So I can make it a +1 for a limited time...
can I add brilliant energy, defending, disruption, flaming,
frost, keen, and shock the next round?

Or do I need a +1 magic weapon in general?

(((This is all warpriest abilities... no permanent enchantments.)))

I have a 5th level Warpriest with no mastercraft or magic weapon,
so can I used the Scared weapon Bonus that will give a +1 and use that
to meet the prerequisite for the weapon enhancement of brilliant energy,
defending, disruption, flaming, frost, keen, and shock.

I just want to make sure that the Sacred Weapon +1 (5 rounds/day) (Su) Class Ability (Warpriest) will make it possible to make the enchantments.

Thanks

I’m a 15th Level Unchained Rogue with Greater TWF...
My attacks are—
Mainhand +20/+15/+10 to Strike with 1D6+10 Damage
Offhand +18/+13/+8 to Strike with 1D6+5 Damage
Main hand +4 Short Sword
Offhand +2 Short Sword
DEX 20

What spells increase the Strike chance?
Been using Heroism but looking for more then a +2.
Not looking for equipment upgrades, just wizard spells
and Cleric spells.

Thanks...

So when I hit 15th and take Greater TWF, that will be 6 attacks for a Full Attack action
using TWF?

I’m looking for clarification on Full Attack actions.
I play a Unchained Rogue with TWF,
I have Improved TWF,
I am level 14,

How many attacks does this Rogue get on a Full Attack?
4? 5? 6?

A little help with the math if you will.

Thanks,

Its all good on how one tells the story.
I used to work at Walmart, the rumor mil spread like wild fire.
I also did 20 years in the Navy, and sometimes rumors got so out of control, the Captain hand to get on the 1MC and straighten the lies and rumors out before the ship got flipped upside down.

So Rumormonger is indeed, perfect...IMO.

Thank you for the DC its a small town. DC18.
