The first time (and last time) that I have ever had my character die in combat came about three months ago. My Halfling Cavalier was part of a six-member party in The Accursed Halls module. Our party had somehow managed to find the exit and decided to work our way backwards through the halls. Unfortunately, we had a wight to our front, and an incorporeal creature to our flank. My wolf mount was to scared, but I managed to do something about that. However, since I was just a first-level Cavalier, I didn't have the gold (or even knew about cold iron weapons until then) to purchase the appropriate weapons to do proper damage to the Wight. Unfortunately, that did leave my Cavalier open to having a level drained, effectively killing him.

And that is how a rookie mistake killed my Halfling Cavalier.

How did your characters die? How emotionally connected were you to yours?

Well, I am planning to have it PFS legal, so all core races plus Aasimar, Tiefling, and Tengu

Alright, a month ago, I posted a thread about wanting to create a gladiator that was missing an arm (replaced with a pata weapon). The question now is what race I should make him. Some of be was going with either of Dwarf or a Half-Orc, to focus on his strength and Con, or maybe even going for a Human or Gnome, to have a boost to the Charisma needed for his Perform skills.

Suggestions?

And after a day of this post, I've actually found out about what needs to be done.

Grand Lodge

I have an idea for a character, but I don't know what would need to be done.

Basically, I am planning on creating a Roman gladiator-inspired character, most likely a Fighter or Barbarian as a frame for him to work around with. My main question is that I am wanting to have him missing a hand, with a pata weapon in place of it, attached to his forearm in some way. What are the rules for this?

Also, any advice on how to make a decent gladiator/pitfighter character would be most appreciative.

Personally, I would just deck him one good one from across the table.

I personally would love to have something with a civil war going on, something like a Sengoku Jidai, tradition vs modernization.

Well, my main character, a Level 3 Half-Orc fighter is only 19, and he has already been through the military (in story), but he's been kicked out for fighting with his superiors. He's a hot-headed brawler, who hates being told what to do, and intimidates anyone that gets in his way. I kinda play him a bit older in emotional ways, but he's been through a lot of stuff so I feel that I am within a good mindset with him.

You could mix in the under-foot aspect/feats/monk of the halfling, I always wanted to try that. (On that note, GM credit character, away! Thanks for the idea.)

I have a pugilist alt class for a character, and, no pun intended, he's brutal. I didn't type him to do damage (he just grapples) but the class has been excellent for that. I'm pretty sure you can type some of the class abilities to whatever CM you want.

If you're going for straight unarmed damage, though, a monk with the underfoot/brawler aspect may be better suited to you, since your movement continues to increase and so does your unarmed strike die. If it's combat maneuvers you're looking for, barb or fighter may well be better.

Regardless, he sounds like a blast.

Well, I have a Halfling monk, where I am going to go with the Drunken Master-style of play with him. He's going to be constantly hammered, but with his unarmed attack, he should be good to go with melee, I feel.

With this little plan of mine, I don't know how well he'd do with grapples since most characters are Medium size. I know I will have to dump in plenty of points into strength to get him to be decent.

Well, there is the Low Blow Alternative Racial Trait...

I was thinking of creating something, just for kicks mainly, but also bringing it out sometime for PFS play. I was coming up with a brawler-style barbarian, a pugilist of sorts; the kicker is that I want to make him a halfling. If I go this route, what should be my greatest concern and what can I make my greatest asset to this?

Alright, I was just concerned if I had to stick with the Fey origin for the Sorcerer class with a Gnome no matter what, or if I was able to select a different Sorcerer bloodline. Thanks.

I got a little confused when I was coming up with my Gnome sorcerer. I was wanting to have him go to a Dragon bloodline, but I understand that Gnomes have Fey origin. Is it a requirement for them to be a Fey Bloodline Sorcerer, or is there a possibility for me to get him to a Dragon bloodline or possibly having both?

Also, I should make it known that creating and playing spellcasters confuse me the most, but I (try to) do so out of party necessity.
