Making sure to keep himself between the beetle and the wounded man, Kazzar calls for Greywind to join him and runs forward with the others and hacks at the beetle with his greataxe.

"That seems to be a bombardier beetle - not particularly dangerous, but it can spray a cone of acid when attacked, so keep that in mind.

Sumak, it might be a good idea to place the man down so we can help deal with the beetle. And I'll try to shield him from any acid that comes this way."

Kazzar will lower the man carefully on the floor and step between him and the beetle, drawing his greataxe as he does so and telling Greywind to stand by, not wanting to enrage the beetle before the rest of the party is ready

"I don't think we should leave the man lying here unconscious - he seemed more like another innocent surprised by the skeletons than one responsible. Leaving him behind might put him in danger. I say we either heal him and try to calm him down, or I'll carry him along until he recovers."

Kazzar follows closely behind Aeric, carrying the unconscious man, and keeping Greywind close by, ready to send him against any danger lurking ahead.

"I can cast a couple of healing spells, if anyone needs it." Kazzar looks worriedly at Somonti's and Aeric's wounds before turning his attention to the man who hurt them.

"As for the man here, Moon's punch knocked him out cold. But he'd been hurt already - see those cuts? They seem similar to the ones we've seen on the bodies near the entrance, if a bit less deep. He was probably fighting off the skeletons as well before barricading himself in this room."

As Moon and Aeric try to subdue the man, Kazzar shows him his holy symbol, hoping it helps convince the man they're not with whomever is responsible for the undead abominations roaming the crypt. "Please, stand down. We're not responsible for these vile undead things, and have in fact have been trying to destroy them, and find out what made them, to put a stop to it. My companions are doing their best to defend themselves without hurting you, but it would be best for us all to stop fighting."

Kazzar smiles back at Moon's reply "Makes sense, sorry. Didn't really take that option into account. I can see how having a lumbering half-orc following close behind would make that difficult."

At the locked door, Kazzar looks at the numerous broken bones and turns to the rest of the group.

"With the state these bone are in, I figure some more fighting took place over here. Maybe the wailing is coming from someone who fought the skeletons and locked themselves in? Should we make our presence known to them?"

Kazzar moves cautiously behind Moon down the corridor and towards the left side, wary for any more traps he might end up triggering.

"Moon, I'm sure you noticed the wailing coming from up ahead as well - shouldn't we wait for the others to catch up before going much further? We have no idea what we might find further in."

Kazzar nods at Moon's suggestion "I'll handle the door and keep it open." He then gets back to the door, ready to open it if it does unlock. If so, he'll try to take a look at the next room while he holds the door open for the rest of the party, hoping to spot any danger that might be lurking ahead.

Following Moon's advice, Kazzar takes a better look at the traps, trying to spot any switch hidden inside.

"Thank you, master Aeric." the half-orc says respectfully to the veteran warrior as he gladly takes his aid as he attempts to climb out of the pit. "I'll try to be more careful from now on."

He watches as Moon pulls on the switch, trying to be as alert as possible to any danger it might trigger. Seeing no obvious change in their surroundings, however, he offers: "Could the switch unlock the door? Maybe one of us should pull on it while another tries to open the door?"

With Moon at the switch, Kazzar carefully walks towards the door, trying to avoid falling into any more traps.

Kazzar signals his animal companions to follow him closely into the new room, and tries to keep up with Moon - making sure to pay attention to any spots where the torch light doesn't quite reach.

Seeing the pillows in the pit, he nods to Moon. "Seems you were right about the townspeople setting things up for the heroes. I guess that's part of our yearly tradition."

He then looks grimly ahead. "There could be more townspeople further inside, trapped by the undead. We should hurry."

"Let me take a look then" Kazzar whispers back to Moon. "I shouldn't need any light to see and this way we don't risk alerting anything.

Kazzar nods sadly at Aeric's suggestion regarding the skeletons. "It's a shame Seffie headed back towards the town. She would have been able to give the remains the respect they deserved"

He takes a good look at the bodies, to see if anything about them can provide a clue as to where they came from.

As Moon moves towards the eastern door, Kazzar follows his traveling companion and joins her in listening for any sounds beyond.

Kazzar and Greywind both strike at the new skeleton threatening Somonti, but both attacks fail to hit their targets.

Razorwing, hoping Somonti can help deal with the skeleton both its companions missed, lands near her and gently taps her with its beak, imbuing her with a bit of divine magic.

Kazzar rushes down the stairs and tries to strike at the rising skeleton at the bottom, hoping to clear the way to the other two attacking Greywind.

Reacting to Kazzar's approach, Greywind tries to take a bite at his target as well.

"Greywind, bring the skeletons down!" Kazzar tells his wolf as he runs at the skeleton rising in front of him, hitting it with a powerful swing from his club.

Greywind sprints over the fallen bodies and tries to bite the skeleton in front. But being used to more meaty prey, its bite misses its mark.

Following Aeric's suggestions, Kazzar moves to cover the left side of the room, while knocking away any weapon or skull he can reach. Razorwing stays close, alert to any danger.

Greywind, steps into the crypt as well, snifing at the fallen bodies.

"How do you want to proceed, master Aeric?" Kazzar whispers to the more experienced fighter besides him as he cautiously eyes the unmoving skeletons on the ground. "I'm worried about those two bodies, but don't want to walk us into an ambush if those skeletons are just lying in wait."

"That makes sense." Kazzar nods at Aeric's suggestion "It fits. It fits all too well." Kazzar face darkens as he considers the implications and a hint of constrained fury can be heard in the typically calm half-orc's voice. "You think a necromancer might be loose inside Kassen's crypt? We must stop him at once!"

Holding his club with a two handed grip, Kazzar follows close behind Aeric, ready to bash any skeleton who gets past the man's bardiche.

I thought Heal was trained only when I made the previous post. Rolling it now.

Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Kazzar takes a closer look at the body after they move it, before taking a better look at the uncovered bones.

"I'd say this horse was killed about two days ago. The wounds seem a bit odd, however. Like they were made by some sort of crude bladed weapon. Or some claws."

"And I don't know what to make of the bones either. They're too old." The half orc pauses for a moment as he looks towards the Crypt's entry. "Maybe our mystery attackers were graverobbers? But what could they possibly want with a skeleton?" Kazzar shakes his head, clearly uncomfortable with the idea that someone might have defiled the crypt.

Kazzar approaches the bodies alongside Aeric, trying to notice anything else.

"Wait, are those... Bones? There, underneath that horse. Seem humanlike as well. Doesn't make much sense though - a body wouldn't decompose that quickly."

Kazzar moves a bit closer to the body in question.

"Anyone want to help me move the body to get a better look?"

Kazzar looks grimly at the corpses as he dons his scale mail as well, and nods at Somonti's questions.

"Like you said, it seems strange for this to be the work of wild beasts - the horses would have been eaten in that case. This sad act was most probably done by people."

"I don't think the owners of these horses would have tied them down just to kill them. So that would mean there are two groups of people here at the tomb besides us, right? One of which has no qualms about slaughtering other people's animals."

Following Aeric's example and advice, Kazzar takes off his scale mail as well and tries to make his way down along with the others.

Kazzar looks up at the sky to try and get a sense of how long the rain might last before speaking, but doesn't really manage to get a decent estimate.

"You both raise good points." He finally says, looking at Sumak and Somonti "I propose we keep going, with much care not to slip on our way down. The more it rains the worse it will get, and we have no idea when the ground might be dry enough for it to be safer.

Kazzar ponders Aeric's and Moon's words for a bit before answering.

"As much as I would like to be part of the group, they were this year's chosen, not us. Tradition is important."

"And yet, we can't put tradition above everyone's safety. You're both right, there's safety in numbers, and between giant snakes, orcs and feral wolves, I think it would definitely be best if we went together."

Kazzar looks up to the sky and shortly after a hawk dives down and lands on his shoulder. After petting its head for a bit, Kazzar continues.

"I'm thinking we could write a note to Mayor Uptal explaining the situation, and have Razorwing here deliver it and bring back his reply while we go along with you, just in case he disagrees. Does that seem reasonable to you all?"

As if somehow understanding that they will all be traveling together, Greywind approaches Aeric and Somonti, snifing at them as it approaches and looking up at the two.

Kazzar kneels down to look at the bite marks more closely.

If the group was attacked by wolves, that might be what happened to this poor man.

"These bite marks... They seem like they belong to some kind of snake. Poison would explain why the body has been untouched by scavengers so far. But the size of these marks... It'd have to be a huge snake to leave marks like these."

"Those clothes would have been from a large city, I don't think he was from around here. From Tamran, maybe, given the coins?"

"You're right, we have been in the woods longer than would have been necessary for our trip." Kazzar replies back to Somonti "I ended up getting ourselves lost, when I should have known these woods better." Kazzar is clearly embarrassed at his own lack of skill as he looks apologetically at Moon and Somonti, having misinterpreted the reason for the latter's accusatory looks.

"We've encountered no orcs or wolves. Aside from Greywind here of course." Kazzar gestures behind him, and his wolf companion cautiously approaches the party.

"Were you attacked on your way here? Is anyone hurt? I can cast a couple of healing spells if anyone is need of healing"

Could the bite marks have been made by wolves? Would a Knowledge Nature check help in narrowing down the cause?

As he focuses on Sumak, Kazzar notices the lantern he's carrying. "Ah, you're this year's chosen to quest for the Everflame!" Kazzar's tone clearly carries his respect for the group's involvement in their community's tradition.

"We were making our way back to Kassen... But we came across this body as we approached the lake and were trying to figure out what might have happened here"

There's a hint of embarrassment on Kazzar's face as he starts his reply, but it's quickly replaced with a serious expression as he focuses on the body.

As Moon crouches down to look at the body more closely, Kazzar looks around, trying to spot any tracks that can provide a clue to what might have happened.

His attention shifts towards the party as they approach, and following Moon's lead, Kazzar greets them as well.

"And I am Kazzar, from the temple." The last part of his sentence almost sounds like a question - with his tendency to avoid people, Kazzar is a bit a unsure of how many people might recognise him.

I'd like to submit Kazzar, a Lawful Good Half-orc Inquisitor of Erastil, with the Sacred Huntsmaster/Green Faith Marshall archetypes.

Kazzar was left as a child at a temple of Erastil, where he was found by the local priest, who took him in and raised him.

Unsurprisingly, Kazzar became a devout follower of Erastil himself, and is fiercely loyal to his foster parent and the community he chose to serve, although his people skills are somewhat lacking - He is a kind person, but is always afraid that his appearance will be intimidating to those who don't know him, and usually tends to avoid social interactions, prefering to be with Greywind, his wolf companion and Razorwing, his hawk familiar.

Notable Physical Features: His tusks are unusually huge for a half-orc, and he has some intricately designed tatoos on his upper arms - one depicting a running wolf, and the other a hawk in flight. He also has one of the holy symbol of Erastil on the back of his left hand.
