On opening the chest: "Craaaaaaaaw! What in all hells! What was Renlock thinking?! Doesn't he know that I want more than a few coppers and four silver pieces. We haven't even divided the plunder yet! At the sight of the glorious new sloop: "Well, this is a little better, especially if we have a clean wrap sheet. So I guess we just board her and set sail for glory."
Kaako carefully plays with the lock mechanism, looking for any traps specifically in the lock. Secret Perception Check for GMs eyes only:
Next, he tries to open the chest or if it is locked, he will try to pick the lock. Secret Thievery Check for GMs eyes only:
"At last, we are here my friends. Look at this chest! At last the treasure will be ours!" Kaako scans the area for traps and slowly makes his way over to the chest exercising great caution.
"So far, so good." Kaako exclaims.
After Lavanna treats Kaako's wounds, the tengu nods in appreciation. "Thanks, my dear. Now, let's see if we can find Renlock's lost treasure." Kaako looks around the room in search of all that glitters and more.
"If you are all done praying and such, do you folks want to help me search the room? There has to be some treasure or secret portal nearby."
"I too would prefer to treat my wounds before we venture much further. If there is treasure, it is likely to be trapped." Turning to look over the unconscious Jadren, Kaako comments to Lavanna. "Well, it looks like you helped keep him alive, even if he is still out. I'm not sure if you are to thank or if his inheritor does indeed keep an eye out on him." "Do you have any further medical expertise to wake him up, or shall I pull out my spare potion of healing?"
”Thank you, Cawlo! I see where we have to go, but are we fit enough to continue? I know that I’m feeling my age after big Skelly dude!”
"Cawww! I'll say you did most of the heavy lifting. That mace I was trying to use couldn't hit the side of a barn if I was inside one with all of the doors closed. I hope I can go back to using my rapier from now on."
Kaako pulls out his hand crossbow, loads it, and before he gets a chance to aim it, it already fires harmlessly at the wall!
"What?!!" Kaako remarks as he watches his pathetic crossbow bolt miss its target while the skeleton decimates the party. ◈ Draw Crossbow
Kaako makes a hasty retreat and withdraws from battle. ”Caw! This stupid mace sucks. I think it was invented by somebody with a thick skull!”
The giant skeleton bashes the hell of of Kaako and feathers fly everywhere. The tengu lies on the ground dying.
However, moments later, Lavanna's healing stirs him awake. He grabs the stupid mace, stands up and futilely swings it again at the skeleton.
Kaako moves into position to try and back stab the skeleton with a mace. "Jadren, tell the Inheritor that she can intervene at any time now."
”I’m glad to her that you paid your dues and the Inheritor is with you today. Now, let’s see what luck she gives us!” With his new mace drawn, he moves up and looks for a way to flank the skeleton.
Kaako, keeps his rapier sheathed and he holds his 'good' mace in his hand looking at it like it is the most clunky weapon ever invented. "I'm ready." He declares.
"Alright, I will grab a mace. It may be helpful if we run into some skeletons. However, I am not giving up my Rapier if that is fine with all of you." Kaako look through the weapons and finds a good mace.
"Do you really think I need to use a bludgeoning weapon of sorts? I really like my blade and would prefer not trading it for a club."
"Will you look at Renlock? He looks like he has seen better days." Kaako takes a closer look at the statue and tries to see if there is anything about the statue that might open up more secret compartments or doors.
"Indeed we should continue. Jadren, will you do us the honors?"
"Well done, Lavanna! Are you a clever one today!" Kaako looks around to see if something even more secret has opened up.
"This looks simple. Place the coin from each of the pedestals onto the sculptures. I wonder if we should place them in ascending order according to the value of the coin?"
"Lavanna, nice find! If a door is secret, then maybe somebody didn't want it to be found. Maybe that means there is some treasure hidden back there. Let's go."
"Not yet, but I do see that we have a serious water spill over here."
"Being with all of you, fighting water elementals brings back some great memories!" Kaako now checks out the pool in search of treasure.
Kaako uses some minor rogue magic and casts electric arc on the elemental.
Kaako decides to step up, stab at it with his rapier, and then heed Elsir's request by moving out of the way of the incoming lightning.
◈ Step
"What in hells did you wish for? I hope you didn't offend by not giving enough."
Kaako decides it is best to stab it with his rapier.
◈ Recall Knowledge
"Can we just throw some of these dead ants in the pool and call it even?"
"Why is it that all of these gods need our money? Aren't they already immortal? What else does the god of bad weather want besides gold?"
"Wow! You must have paid your inheritor a great deal of gold to be able to heal like that! That was impressive!"
Kaako slides into position to flank the black ant and he drives his rapier into its abdomen twice.
"Jadren! Come back! I was only kidding about the Inheritor taking all of your gold!" Kaako repeatedly thrusts his rapier into the black ant!
Kaako, lets Elisr run by, but with his rapier drawn, takes advantage of his stealth and initiative and jumps around the corner, uses surprise attack and stabs blue.
◈ Stride
Kaako, staying to the shadows, quietly draws his rapier and prepares for the unexpected.
"Jadren, I'm just saying if your inheritor is going to inherit all of your money, maybe you would consider giving some of it to the Kaako Kause! You know, give to a Tengu in need! However, I'm trying to be stealthy here, so maybe save the lecture until later."
"Jadren, can you tell me why you call Iomedae the Inheritor? Are you going to give her all of your money?" Kaako will use Avoid Notice as he sneaks into the secret passage.
"Watch out, Lavanna. I think Jadren has found comfort in religion."
"Caw Caw!! Well done, Jadren. I'm not sure how you knew how to drive a shipwrecked ship, but you've done it! I think, we found the entrance." Kaako moves over to the cliff face entrance and searches for traps.
"Agreed, Jadren! Now, if I can just remember how to steer this ship, especially with it grounded as it."
”Caw! Caw!” Kaako screeches out as he waves his rapier high in the air for their victory! ”I remember battling many a snake on this deck, but never the kind that actually slithers. We should look around in case their are any more.”
Kaako strikes at the remaining snake repeatedly in an effort to finish off the reptile.
"Caw!! We don't need no stinking snakes on our bridge! We were crew here long before you came along!"
Kaako draws his rapier, moves into flanking position, and strikes the green snake!
"We've got snakes on the deck!"
Kaako makes his way toward the wheel and attempts to navigate the sloped deck to get a better look.
“Lavanna I think you may be teasing Kaako. She has had enough of that at our hands over the years. If I could take back all the times I called her "Assfeather" or "momma chicken" or even worse names, I would. She should be treated with respect. I am pleased The Inheritor has provided me this chance to repay Kaako for those mistakes.”[/b] ”Its alright, Jadren. I did fail to recognize the witch hidden among the passengers of that fateful ship we plundered. However, I think at last I’m ready to be our jinx breaker once again. The teasing just keeps me on my toes.” ”According to the parchment, We have to start by going with the tide, then against it, with it, and finally against it. Maybe we can find a boat to ride the tides.”
"Alright, alright! I have one too. However, we must agree, if we find something good, we all split it equally."
"Caw! Not yet. Too bad to hear about Renlock's death, but I'd like to find his most prized treasure. I just hope it's more than a bottle of rum. How about you? Any sign of that crazy parrot, Cawlo?"
