Elsir of the Iron Fellowship |

Elsir holds the line and levels his stance before concentrating on a ray of frost: ATK: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 for DMG if hit: 2d4 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2) + 4 + 5 = 13

GM thunderspirit |

Per Slack, Elsir casts shield.
Elsir's ray sails over the viper's head!

Lavanna T Saltspray |

"You guys, these are snakes, the lubbiest of land lubbers. We must remove them from our ancestral home!"
Lavanna concentrates on two more stabby stabs with her imaginary trident.
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Correct!
Although, Lavanna's second attack should have her multiple attack penalty -- usually -5 for the second attack, -10 for the subsequent one(s). In this case it wouldn't matter, since the roll is a nat anti-Jeff.
Lavanna wields her divine weapon, giving the snek a mighty whack, not once but twice. The immense adder is nearly cleft in twain.
Nearly.

Kaako C. Ashfeather |

Kaako strikes at the remaining snake repeatedly in an effort to finish off the reptile.

Rapier 3rd Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Piercing Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 = 8
"Caw!! We don't need no stinking snakes on our bridge! We were crew here long before you came along!"

GM thunderspirit |

Kaako puts down the second snake!
Out of combat!

Kaako C. Ashfeather |

”Caw! Caw!” Kaako screeches out as he waves his rapier high in the air for their victory! ”I remember battling many a snake on this deck, but never the kind that actually slithers. We should look around in case their are any more.”

Elsir of the Iron Fellowship |

"That was unpleasant. We should check out the ship, for help if not nostalgia. Hopefully not for more snakes. Come."
The morose elf turns to a constant pining of magical detection spells.

Jadren the Reformed |

"It is hard to see how much I have lost my sea legs. I would have liked to protect you but I can see you do not need it. We have all learned new things just as I have since last we met."
"Should we all get on board and try again?"

Lavanna T Saltspray |

Lavanna looks up at the ass of the ship and detects for magicals.
"Anyone need patching up?" she asks, feeling a warm sense of nostalgia.

GM thunderspirit |

The party checks about and sees no evidence of other snakes, slithering or otherwise.
With a bit of help, they get Jadren and Livan a onto the deck, and shortly all stand by Captain Renlock's wheel.
I'll take a Sailing Lore (lower DC) or Crafting check from anyone trained in either.

GM thunderspirit |

Jadren doesn't recall much, but Kaako remembers the good captain explaining how the wheel worked the rudder.
This ain't like steering a cart and horse, you know! Got to turn that wheel like you mean it. Why, it takes a whole spin just to move that rudder enough to change direction! No landlover understands that!
Cawlo continues to stand perched near the wheel, staring at it.

GM thunderspirit |

Jadren tries to follow Lavanna's directions and turns the wheel clockwise.
It's a puzzle -- not that you didn't know that already -- so I need to know exactly what Jarden does: which way he turns the wheel, how far he turns it, etc. Lavanna has already said she thinks this turn should be clockwise.

Jadren the Reformed |

Jadren turns clockwise once around fully and then to the North position, then counter clockwise one full rotation and then to the South position, then clockwise one full rotation and then to the East position, then counter clockwise one full rotation and back to the North position.

GM thunderspirit |

Jadren spins the wheel, hearing an audible click at each stop of the spin, and all at once a heavy grinding sound erupts from the nearby cliff face!
Map updated.

Kaako C. Ashfeather |

"Caw Caw!! Well done, Jadren. I'm not sure how you knew how to drive a shipwrecked ship, but you've done it! I think, we found the entrance."
Kaako moves over to the cliff face entrance and searches for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Elsir of the Iron Fellowship |

"Ha! I still think it worth taking a look at the beach before we head in, but indeed, let's get in there." Default exploration is Detect Magic

Jadren the Reformed |

"Lavanna, my delight in seeing you again is the closest I have come to the joy I felt when I saw the light of Iomedae and learned of her ascendance. Are you familiar with the teachings of the Inheritor?"

Jadren the Reformed |

"Service to the inheritor is far from comfortable. A used blade never dulls. She prepares you to be always at the ready for justice, for righteousness, for valour!"

GM thunderspirit |

LOL at the banter.
A cursory look at the beach finds nothing of interest, and Cawlo flies about the entrance in circles, appearing impatient, which seems unusual for a clockwork construct without emotions, but maybe it's been installed with a Data chip, you're not sure.
In any case, Kaako checks the entry and declares it free of trappage. Jadren raises his shield and Elsir detects magic as the group prepares to enter.
Need Lavanna and Kaako's exploration activities and where everyone wants to line up as they enter single file.

GM thunderspirit |

Default exploration is Search. Unless that doesn't make any sense if she's last in line.
Where one is in the marching order has no practical effect, so Search is fine.

Kaako C. Ashfeather |

"Jadren, can you tell me why you call Iomedae the Inheritor? Are you going to give her all of your money?"
Kaako will use Avoid Notice as he sneaks into the secret passage.
Stealth Modifier + 13

Jadren the Reformed |

Jadren, spurred on by Kaako's interest, will relay the entire story of Iomedae's ascension in excruciating detail as he advances into the cave.

Kaako C. Ashfeather |

"Jadren, I'm just saying if your inheritor is going to inherit all of your money, maybe you would consider giving some of it to the Kaako Kause! You know, give to a Tengu in need! However, I'm trying to be stealthy here, so maybe save the lecture until later."

Jadren the Reformed |

"Oh haha I see. That was a jest. My mistake. Ho ho I didn't hear a lot of humour from the knights who took me in. I may be rusty."

GM thunderspirit |

The passageway beyond the hidden door ascends at an incline a few feet above the high tide line of the cove before leveling off. The passage ends in a short set of stairs that descend toward a large chamber lit only by vine-choked cracks in the ceiling above.
The rough-hewn chamber has fallen into disrepair. The western wall has collapsed partially and dirt, rock, and plant debris litter the floor, nearly obscuring a large leaf pattern made from green quartz. The tip of this leaf ends in a brackish pool of water. Rising up from the water is a mold-encrusted stone statue of a woman who appears to emerge from a wave, with seaweed for hair and her arms held high in supplication to the sky above.
A faint clicking and rustling sound can be heard from the collapsed wall, but its source is not immediately apparent.
Moved y'all on the map.

GM thunderspirit |

Jadren advances toward the collapsed wall and quickly discovers that the source of the clicking and rustling sound has come looking for him as well -- a quartet of ants the size of a wolf emerge from the rubble, seeking a nice Jadren-sized meal!

Still learning the ropes for spellcasters. GM I didn't realize the funky duration of mage armor, but Elsir would know. Can I have used my wand?
Also, I can't move on the map.
Elsir shouts at Jadren, and it clearly takes a lot of effort, MOVE OUT OF MY WAY!" He steps up to stand just south of the man and then lets a bolt of lightning fly, striking them all. Basic REF DC 21 Elec: 4d12 ⇒ (6, 7, 3, 5) = 21

Each the size of a wolf. They eat halflings for breakfast.

Sure, no harm done. And I've updated the permissions on the slides, so hopefully everyone can move their pog now.
