@GM Tiger: Thanks for the game, as always. I see you jumped onto my PaizoCon table, so I'll see you there if not before.

I updated the map to remove Green and to show Jhiang's position after having used his reaction to move behind Blue as posted.

Resists fire, does he? Jhiang Jhones considers as he makes a quick spinning jump to land behind the one in the Green.

He focuses on the man's form as he casts a spell and imbues the energy of the wind into his blade.

Flat Check DC 5: 1d20 ⇒ 12

If Green drops, Jhiang will use his Reaction for Distant Waterbird's Poise to Leap into Flank with Blue (where the sideways Jhaing token is), also not provoking. If Green does not drop, he'll stay put.

Jhiang watches as Ghardak and the others rush in and engage. "Don' like sorcerers?" he asks Ghardak with a wry smile as he launches into the air and arcs across the room to land on the far other side. When he touches down, a splash of fire erupts from the spot and washes over the two nearest foes.

Blazing Dive bludgeoning: 3d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 3) = 7 and fire damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6) = 13

As the flames subside, the wizard-not-sorcerer-warrior enters his own combat stance.

Oops, my bad. I thought BK had opened the new door.

Jhiang steps back at Ghardak's warning to give someone else better access. This isn't his cup of tea.

Ahh, what I would give for a good cuppa Shenmen bluestem tea. Ooh, maybe have at t'e Tien grocery down by docks.

"Yam Seng!" Jhiang gives a congratulatory cheer and fist bump to BK when the last one lays down his arms. He knows that Ghardak actually got the last word in, but the little gnome is in such an infectiously good mode that he can't help it.

He steps up to the door and prepares for combat. "T'ank you for look-see t'e door," he then says to BK as the gnome opens it.

As Blue hits the ground, Jhiang raises an eyebrow at the one remaining intruder. He draws a centering breath, exhales on a double-count, and lets the magic rebuild within him.

His sword flashes in a fiery arc...

Jhiang casts a quick spell at the one in the clean White shirt.

Slashing Gust, Anthem vs White AC: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 1 = 12

But it fizzles in his hand. The big man curses in a mix of 3 different languages, and though no one would understand the exact meaning of the words, his frustration is clear. His venting complete, he takes a calming breath and enters his combat stance as a further way of centering himself for the combat.

But just to clarify for our turn, do Desmond and Jhiang count as being in our stances, or do we need to use the actions again? Matters a lot for Jhiang cause he has to cast a spell before going into the stance.

GM Tiger wrote:
Singaporean accent? :)

Yeah.... busted. Someone's heard some Singlish. But there's a Lore reason. The Tian Xia World Guide renamed Amanandar to Linvarre. Linvarre is the Taldan enclave in Tian Xia, so already a little Singapore / Hong Kong.

Then on pg 132, they mention, "Once the children rise, the whole family enjoys breakfast while chatting in Taltien, Linvarre’s lively pidgin dialect that mixes words from both Taldane and Tien."

They then expound on it further on Pg 34:

The Taltien dialect has achieved a degree of international notoriety. Some denigrate it as a wild mix of Tien phrases shoddily translated into Taldane, or Taldane words squeezed into the confines of Tien grammatical structures. Linvarrans take great pride in their linguistic mashup, though, and local scholars have pushed for Taltien’s adoption as a global trade tongue, calling it the link between the two common trade languages in Tian Xia and Avistan. While one can rarely encounter an outsider fluent in Taltien, most foreigners can understand about 50 percent of a conversation if they strain their ears, and Linvarre’s immigrants generally pick the language up within six months to a year.

So they made Singlish canon!

But I don't want to just mix in "Tien phrases" which no one would be able to parse (plus I don't speak any IRL Asian languages to use as a base). So instead I'm trying to make it more like what I hear when 'Poerans speak English in that chopped, staccato style to each other but they aren't speaking full-on Singlish. I'll be refining it as I go, and if anyone has suggestions on how I can make the accent both understandable and distinctive, I'll listen.

Each round that a creature starts its turn in the area, it must attempt a Reflex save VS DC 20.

On a failure, it takes a –10-foot circumstance penalty to its Speeds until it leaves the area, and on a critical failure, it's also immobilized for 1 round. Creatures can attempt to Escape to remove these effects.

As Locus executes a perfect bow in return, a man comes running into the lobby and looks around as if searching for someone. He hustles over to where Locus and Quinthalas are standing while Minzy sidles into the conversation.

"Neng Locus? T'at's you, laa?" he asks in a very strange accent. When she nods in assent, he switches into a fast stream of a tonal language familiar to some as being from Tian Xia.

After just a few back and forths in Tien, the android bows again to Quinthalas. "I'm sorry Quin, I've been reassigned to a different task. I do hope that we can meet again," she finishes simply as she gathers Minzy and Toop, and they depart the lobby.

He stands quite a bit taller than most would expect of one from Tian Xia, and the slightly pointed ears below the samurai top-knot are not quite pointed enough to be even half-elven.
