... at least that's what he tries to do. Instead, the gun goes clattering across the floor for a second before he grabs it up.

"Uh, yah!" he yells out, grimacing at the crew comically, "Coast is clear!"

Jaynix is still riding his racer's high. "Did you see when that one guy went REEEEAAAAOOOOWWWWW!! and Clayton was all like 'I don't think so, bub' BRRAP BRRAP!" He pauses to take a break, more forced to by his need to breathe, "Ah, hells, that was fun, guys."

He claps Flush on the shoulder, "Nice work on the rig, by the way." He zooms his hand through the air, "She flew great!"

At the prospect of which task to take on next, the young spacer shrugs, "One's as good as the other, I guess."

Just to toss it out there, with our racer's +3 to Piloting, Jaynix's Piloting mod goes up to +17, succeeding even on a roll of 1. Can we assume he's piloting? Then others can take the Weapons phase every round, and we'll auto-succeed at racing until our circumstances (or piloting mod) changes. Thoughts?

if ya'll are cool with that, Jaynix will enthusiastically jump behind the controls during that phase every round. :D

this is what I want to do with Jaynix, but I've failed a couple of checks now due to having pass 2 checks instead of 1. Earlier I tried Trick attack (passed the Acro, but failed the attack roll), then this last sabotage (passed the Stealth, but failed the Engineering). Frustrated by his own failed attempt at sabotage (and lacking the persistence to keep up his effort), Jaynix heads back to assist Flush. "Anything I can do to help our chances?" He shrugs, "I'm no the best mechanic, but I've been around ships enough."

Jaynix strolls up, chewing on a huge mouthful of the last bite of an off-brand Shirren R2E, and stops a few feet away from Laboni. "Hey, you're Laboni. I'm Jaynix; Radaszam sent us." He hastily wipes the food from his hand on his pant leg, then extends it for a shake. His eyes dart to the object of her work, his voice becomes skeptical, "Is that what you're racing?"

Jaynix moves forward, pulling his pistol out as he goes. ”Leave her alone, mates!”

Thinking quickly, Jaynix bolts away from Kultainen (and directly at Ceren and the thugs). As he runs, his voice is panicked and he keeps looking over his shoulder in fear at Kultainen's fun.

"ITS STATION SECURITY! RUN, GUYS!"

Jaynix had followed Clayton to the door, pausing and slouching against the open door frame. He pulls out his personal comm, idly flipping through infosphere feeds as he keeps one ear on the conversation with the old woman and one eye on the outside corridor.

”It ain’t a bad plan, yeh,” he says back through the door. ”I can’t help with faking the death, but I may be able to help scrounge up some fake docs for whatever identity is chosen.” He shrugs, ”I don’t think she’d be too interested in taking up my particular line of work.”

I have Culture and Bluff at +5 each, but nothing else applicable unless we want to get her a job as a smuggler. :)

Jaynix strolls along with the group, getting distracted by—and often fiddling with—odd bits and bobs as they progress through the station district. He seems to move with a jittery athleticism that is surprising for his slim frame, and his eyes never seem to stop moving. As they come into view of apartment, but still some distance away, the young spacer pauses.

He looks around, trying to note anything of worth or interest.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8; dang.

"So our hacker's a botanist, maybe? Could be an angle to recruit him. Ya know, in addition to offering to help protect him from the response that security team is likely drop on him for hacking their system. I'll hang back," he says after a moment, then shrugs. "I'm not much of a talker, anyway." He winks over at Flush, apparently gaining back some of his early enthusiasm, "Ya know, with my crooked mouth and all."

He pauses, considering. "If our hacker seems resistant, and we need to figure out a second way to get to that information," he taps his personal comm, "give me a signal. I'm no hacker, but I might be able to get in there to have a look around without getting noticed."

He gives the team a few moments to respond, then (if they don't make a better suggestion on how to handle the situation) he tries to vanish into the crowd to find a good place to watch the encounter.

Basically, Jaynix will stay out of the way, stay hidden (if possible), and keep his eyes and ears open in case the team needs something done by him.

Jaynix barks out a laugh, ”I like speed and discretion." His exuberant grin is briefly in evidence before it wilts slightly at a glance towards Flush. When he continues, it's with slightly less excitement in his voice, "Let's do this."

Jaynix—a young, skinny, human man in mismatched spacer clothes—follows in on Clayton's heels. He gives the two other agents a friendly wave before turning to listen to Guidance. He swabs out his mouth, spitting on it for good measure, then considers the offered implant. With a shrug, he extends his left arm, accepting Society implant.

He steps back, rubbing the implant spot as his gray-eyed gaze returns to the other agents. His crooked smile returns.

"Heya, Clayton," he says brightly, with the unique cadence of deep-space-born humans. "I'm Jaynix. I dabble in a few things, but I can fly damn near anything."

A forgettable-looking young man with the slight stature of those who grew up in low-g walks in. He's wearing a mishmash of spacer clothes over well-worn second skin. A sidearm is strapped to his hip and a heavy-duty travel-packhangs over one shoulder. He gives the docking bay and its inhabitants a sober inspection.

"I heard this crew needs a pilot?"

Still working on the mechanics (i.e. learning them), but I'm pretty dead-set on Tomas being my character for this game. :)
