Without pause—and without hindrance from incoming fire—Jaynix punches it, pushing the racer to the limits of its capabilities.

With no penalties, we can't fail the check. So let's use that afterburner ability thingy to try to take first!

| Unearthing Ulumbia | Fly Free or Die | | Ship Roles |

The Starfinder racer comes zipping by in a blur. It crosses the line to cheers of shock and amusement!

Laboni's smile is infectiously wide as she returns to you. Before she reaches you, she pivots to approach a very annoyed Ratrod. It's obvious that she's apologizing for her previous statements. The ysoki’s pride clearly still hurts, but the gesture seems to have an impact on him.

After taking time to revel in the victory, you take a moment to send word to Radaszam of your victory. While talking to him he cuts in with a hearty belly laugh, "Would you look. at. that. Hey agents, the Salvage Union, Ratrod's gig just sent a peace offering to boot. Head over to race headquarters. They've got a credit stick with 400 big ones and some graphite skin armor for you. I'll let Laboni know those extra spoils are yours."

Remaining Missions:

  • The Acquisitives to meet with Radaszam “The Dealmaker” in the Nyori Palisades
  • TheDataphiles to meet with Historia-7 in the Lorespire Complex (your current location)
  • The Exo-Guardians to meet Zigvigix in the Downlow
  • The Wayfinders to meet with Fitch in the Armada

Jaynix is still riding his racer's high. "Did you see when that one guy went REEEEAAAAOOOOWWWWW!! and Clayton was all like 'I don't think so, bub' BRRAP BRRAP!" He pauses to take a break, more forced to by his need to breathe, "Ah, hells, that was fun, guys."

He claps Flush on the shoulder, "Nice work on the rig, by the way." He zooms his hand through the air, "She flew great!"

At the prospect of which task to take on next, the young spacer shrugs, "One's as good as the other, I guess."

Flush runs over and gives Laboni a congratulatory Vesk-scale hug, albeit a socially awkward one. After the Starfinder racer has a few moments with the Ysoki, including a stumbling offer from Flush to help with his racer at some point in the future, she approaches Laboni.

The clap on the shoulder kind of catches her off-guard -- since when has anyone seen a Vesk *flinch*?

"So, um, ah, are you, ah um... ah. er..."

She's clearly trying to figure out how to say it for a second.

"Um, ah, I um, really like ah, how you um think and ah, it made ah, working on your racer a piece of cake and um, I would ah, um, er... Would you like to ah, get together and talk about future modifications to the hardware and ah software and ah, maybe work on some personal um, interfacing ah, skills?" Her tail is kind of tense and stiff behind her, as she waits for any sort of answer. Nervously, she pushes her spectacles up her noseridge.

As far as the next assignment, Flush looks at them and shrugs. "Um, uh, Downlow is still uh, part in the ah station so it ah, probably is better and then we can ah, go out to the ah, Armada after?"

When she appraises the armor, her response is pretty blunt. "It's ah, a nice armor for ah folks that ah, um, can wear lighter stuff, but it doesn't quite ah, match up to mine so ah, if ah, someone who doesn't mind ah, moving a little bit ah, stiffly it ah, is ah good upgrade from station-scales."

Laboni looks at Flush with her mouth slightly agape. She pauses, ultimately deciding on a wide smile and a slap on the shoulder with a "Sure thing buddy!"

After the celebration winds down, the party heads to the poor, but trendy district of Downlow.

Garbage litters the ground around the district’s largest art park—a cement lot filled with undulating metal sculptures and covered in graffiti of grotesquely adorable creatures. The sounds of music and chatter drift over from the nearby clubs, chronically interrupted by the roar of the local gangsters’ engines. A heavily augmented host shirren is sitting on one of the park benches, eating a simple meal of cold grub-noodles and rice candy. Their antennae perk up at the tremor of approaching footsteps. “Welcome, new Starfinders! And congratulations!” the shirren’s voice telepathically projects. “My speech-name is Zigvigix, but feel free to call me Ziggy, if that would be easier for you. Have some rice candy to celebrate your graduation! Today is your big day!"

“When you are ready, I have two assignments I could use assistance with. The first is to help me secure a new headquarters on Absalom Station. I’ve been in talks with our station’s protectors, the Stewards, and they were kind enough to give us ownership of a warehouse here in Downlow for that purpose! The current owners no longer want it because a vicious alien took it over and kills anyone who goes inside. Once the alien is gone and the warehouse cargo has been returned to its owners, we can start installing desks and computers, so please go in and incinerate the creature!"

“My second assignment...” Zigvigix twitches their tooth barbs for a moment and then holds out a credstick. “Please buy the brand-new Strawberry Machine Cake album, Star Sugar Heartlove!!!, which is out today, and give it to Historia-7 when you see her. She is the head of the Dataphiles, so you should meet her today if you haven't already! I wish to do it myself, but I... I have trouble standing for long periods of time. Thank you very much!”

"Of course. And I don't know what you mean by retro, but they do go with physical media on the release. Doesn't everyone know that?"

There is some excited clicking before the mental voice returns, "Historia-7 has seemed down after losing her mentor in the Scoured Stars. I hope the sugar-pop music can cheer up the android; the band’s music always makes them feel better."

There's some slower clicking before the shirren goes on to gush about favorite songs, and expressing regret they cannot hear the newest releases, as the shirren finds it incredibly difficult to stand in the long lines.

    Sense Motive DC 17:

You note that Zigvigix is not buying a copy for themself. The shirren’s response makes it clear that despite their obvious desire, they downplay their opinion when it might benefit themself and seem uncomfortable spending money on their own personal wants—an oddity for the highly individual shirrens.

Once you are ready, station security allows you through the force barrier set up around the perimeter of the warehouse. They give you a curious look, wondering what kind of person voluntarily would WANT to go in.

The doors to the warehouse were forced open and no longer lock, allowing you to simply walk in. The warehouse ceiling is 30 feet high, and a catwalk runs 15 feet above the floor. The crates and vehicle are approximately 5 feet tall, while the cylindrical containers and the crate-filled scaffolding are 10 feet tall. Climbing the crates and scaffolding wouldn't be too hard in a pinch. THere's a pit in the warehouse floor.

The scattered junk on the floor creates an area of difficult terrain. The lights on the catwalk are not bright enough to illuminate the area, leaving the warehouse in dim light.

Unfortunately, Flush knows a feather stalker when he sees one. These aliens come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and with special abilities.
This one appears to have a mild poison in its flying feathers, and is slightly resistant to cold.

Despite the mild toxin, Clayton scores a direct hit. The alien screaches from... some orifice you can't see. It begins to thrash wildly. It's resistance to the cold only taking it so far.

The flailing focuses on Gideon as the feathery tentacles slam into him:

Gideon grunts from the blow. "STAY BACK!" he calls again, louder this time, and it's soon apparent why as a burst of blinding sunfire erupts all around him.

    End of Round Two

"So, ah, it is ah, feather stalker and ah, it ah, has a poison--" the Vesk begins just about the same time that Kultainen gets hit and starts feeling queasy "And ah, it um, can handle cryogenics pretty well. Don't use cold."

She then lumbers over to look over Kultainen, even though combat is going on.

Medicine(poison treatment): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 "Um, so ah, let me now if this ah, helps any. Most of my medicine is ah, designed for Vesk ah, physiology."

Flush quickly patches up Kultainen as the sounds of the solarian echo throughout the warehouse REF: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

When the light returns to normal, the alien is naught more than a burning husk. The sounds of battle go quiet as a voice from outside breaks the new silence, "Ummmm hey, is this good news or bad? It's station security by the way." Clearly they don't want to come in without confirming.

Jaynix spins his pistol like a gunslinger, slipping it gracefully back into his holster.

... at least that's what he tries to do. Instead, the gun goes clattering across the floor for a second before he grabs it up.

"Uh, yah!" he yells out, grimacing at the crew comically, "Coast is clear!"

    | Unearthing Ulumbia | Fly Free or Die | | Ship Roles |

With assurance from Jaynix, the forces come in and quickly secure the area. There's a fair amount of chatter between them on how bad-ass you must be to have pulled that off.

That concludes one of your missions, so you head off to the line for the new album...

And instantly you find yourselves regretting a lot of your life's choices. The line looks like it's going to be about 6 hours of standing, followed by a mad rush of fans...

    It is extremely boring.

    EXTREMELY.

    It takes FOREVER.

    Seriously, this is super boring.

    You contemplate quitting the Starfinders.

Everyone needs to make a DC 12 FORT save to avoid becoming fatigued. Once you have rolled the save, check the spoiler

    FINALLY!:

It's a mob! feet, tentacles, and claws everywhere. It's all you can do to not drown in the crowd! Make a DC 11 REF save to avoid taking 1d4 ⇒ 2 bludgeoning damage! Finally though, you get to the front. You're welcomed to also buy a copy for yourself if you'd like. It's 50 credits.

Gideon makes certain to pick up two copies, one for Historia-7 and one for Zigvigix. After the torturous ordeal, Gideon finds a quiet place to sit for a few minutes. He feels the bruises on his ribs where the tentacle smacked into him, his armor is a bit dented, and there's a scratch just underneath his left eye which he dabs at with a towel-puck.

Flush was a custodian before she earned her 'deed' name. Custodian Vesk on Vesk Prime are the lowest of the low, having to make way for the 'jock' warriors, the 'monied' bureaucrats, and pretty much everyone else.

Being Vesk, 'Hurry up and Wait' is not a thing that she is a stranger to.

Being from the underclass of all Vesk underclasses, the 'nerd', she is easily able to nearly dance through the line to avoid the potential threats, making it through almost like a pro.

"Three, please!" She finally offers when she gets to the purchasing station. One for backup, one for me, one for the mission. -100credits for two, then?

Do we each need to buy one for Historia-7?

    | Unearthing Ulumbia | Fly Free or Die | | Ship Roles |

No, only one. You're allowed to pool money for this also

Finally the party makes it out with copies of Star Sugar Heartlove!!!. When you return Zigvigix is quite happy, "Word came through about the warehouse, tremendous! Historia-7 will be quite pleased..."
