Javon marvels at the knowledge contained in the plates. "It's so good to have you back, Sorrina! These finds are amazing!" He cocks his head to one side. "Nothing in there, however, about my transformation is there?"

The bird generally makes himself a nuisance to Sorrina before being taken away from Grax.

Knowledge, Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Javon flies up into the room, trying to find a vantage point where he can observe the room, but stay hidden.

Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

Javon nods and bobs. "Yes, it seems we must go in. If we can quell this beast, then perhaps we can save the entire place."

He flies over to land on Grax's head and looks down at him upside-down. "Gerald, be ready with that oversized sword you have. Who knows what this beast will be."

"Very true. If we can get what we need here, there's no need to go inside."

"If destruction is imminent, we should see what information is here." Javon flies over to examine the crystal plates closer. He tries to read the information and see what might be held here.

Despite his learned nature, the bird only knows common. However, he has all the knowledge skills.

Javon flies in once he's heard the fighting stop. He lands on the side of one of the pillars and looks around. "Perhaps we can talk like civilized people now? We mean you no harm. We just need help finding some information."

"Gerald, they gain more power if you and they are touching the ground! Use the spell Sorrina cast on you!" Javon caws out from above the door.

Nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

From somewhere up above, Javon says, "Those are Pech fey! Use Cold Iron on them, but they will be resistant to spells."

Can Javon know Immunities and Special Abilities?

Javon also prepares to enter, but mostly by chatting inanely with his Valet. "Now Gerald, we don't know what it will be like inside, but please be careful what you touch. Not only might it be dangerous, but it could be very valuable too. Remember when you broke that glass bauble in Riddleport? Now, hopefully there will be some sort of index or even an attendant to help us. I suppose we should also be prepared for guardians, but please try not to destroy anything helpful..."

"Sorrina! It's you! I am Javon! Pardon my appearance, but it's good to find you. We have spoken to the Shaitin Reyshal and understand the deal he gave you. Have you made any progress in finding what he wants?" The bird flaps excitedly.

The bird, now properly introduced, pipes up. "Yes, a pleasure to meet you, Reyshal ik Jalman. Your prowess is impressive. We seek some lost Pathfinders comrades. Do you know a woman named Sorrina Westyr?"

Javon feels something in the air currents on his feathers and he looks up the ridge. The bird suddenly squawks. "Gerald! Up above us on the ridge! Some sort of crystal monster! Time for your special juice!"

The bird flies into a niche and tries to conceal itself.

For most purposes Javon is a non-combatant. He just hides until the danger is gone.

Javon lands on the side of the crystal wall, reading the journal over Janus' shoulder. His head bobs and sways as he reads, agreeing with Janus. "Yes, Yes. Taskar does sound like familiar. This might have been Setik. Oh...they got separated, but the writer was carrying the wayfinder. I'm surprised Sorrina wasn't carrying it. Xorn! Braethin was killed by xorn! And then some sort of screeching fiends. We should be careful."

Javon flies over to inspect the arcane marking. "Very curious. This is amazing. I've never seen anything like it!"

Knowledge, Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Javon flies into the chamber, landing on the side of one wall. Grax follows his master through the portal, drawing his greatsword as he looks around the space.

The dark bird flies from one wall to another, looking around. But the sparkly nature of the crystals seems to captivate the his attention.

Javon pipes up. "Gerald has no ioun stones either. If you need someone else to carry it, Janus, he could easily."

The half-orc merely nods in agreement.

"Sorrina Westyr! Yes, she would be wonderful! Oh, if she is still alive that is. And perhaps she could figure out what has happened to me! Oh, Gerald, this could be it! Sorriana would certainly help me. I mean...I think she would. I do know her, yes? I think so, but I'm not sure..." The bird trails off, suddenly distracted by an interesting knot in the wood.

A small dark bird swoops into the room, landing on a nearby table. He cocks its head at Yaiho, then at Janus before taking a long look at Janus Too. The bird shakes, ruffling out its feathers and then paces around the table for several moments.

Finally, it looks back at the doorway and shakes its head. A haughty, nasally voice emits from the bird's mouth as the bird begins to speak in common. "Gerald! Gerald, where are you?! I've been waiting for ages for you to introduce me. We have some worthy Pathfinders here and they deserve the courtesy of an introduction! And none of this 'I can't fly' business. We'll see to that at some point, but it's no excuse for you to be a lay about!"

The bird sighs and looks at Janus. "My apologies. Sometimes, he lacks focus."

"Excellent work, Pathfinders! Gerald and I will be trying to access the great knowledge in the libraries we now have access to. Perhaps someday I will be able to return to my normal form...whatever that is." The bird flies around the room before Grax is able to get him to calm back down.

"I agree with Therin. In addition, the Society has several scholars who need to study the Horn to best understand it," The little bird squawks.

"Yes, we would just like to have a look around. Do you have a place where destroyed ships are placed?"

Javon turns to Jamilla. "You're not coming with us? You certainly know more about what we're looking for than we do."

"A junkyard? That should be relatively easy then." Javon turns to look at Therin. "Oh yes, there usually is a catch isn't there? I mean, if it's just a junkyard, we should be able to walk right in and pay for any salvage."

While they rest, Javon walks Grax through creating another alchemical elixir. "Gerald, watch out how you pour that mint leaf extract in! Remember what happened last time? I do not want to be picking thorns out of my feathers again!"

Javon flies up and just follows the group from the air and moving across the rooftops.

Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

Javon flies down to land near Jamilla. "Yes, unfortunately, we are hard to miss, especially on this plane. I could probably go with you, but if we run into any trouble, we would be in danger without Gerald." Hearing this Grax grunts and shakes his head, clear that he does not like that idea.

"By the way, what is this necklace that was in the ice too?"

"Yes, yes! Let's find a place with a warm fire! And make sure to bring that necklace!" Javon flies out of the doorway, as Grax (now returned to normal size), takes the necklace and prepares to lead the others out of the freezing building.

"Get her outside!" Javon squawks. The bird is perched on the side of the doorway looking in, but seemingly unwilling to venture farther into the chilly warehouse.

Javon squawks in surprise as the giant appears inside and the fight starts. He flies up and lands on the exterior of the building over the door, waiting until it's safe.

Going to be a busy week for me. I may not get the chance to post everyday. Please bot Javon/Grax if needed. I will be back to normal by Friday.

Javon squawks. "Ceru, follow my lead and hide if fighting happens. Gerald, be prepared for anything."

"We can be menacing when we wish." Javon says in his nasally, un-menacing voice. "We must find out what happened to Jamilla."

Javon clears his throat. "We heard there were bounty hunters looking for a janni recently. We also heard that someone collected on it. Do you know if that's true? And who was it?"

Diplomacy, aid Therin: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8

"We are looking for a janni named Jamilah, and we heard Duchess Hshurha has been searching for her too. Do you happen to know if the Duchess captured her? We heard someone claimed the reward she was offering."

The bird squawks. "Yes, we are honored you are available to speak to us. My name is Javon and these are my associates."

Javon had been watching the gambling with some interest and now pipes up. "A gift? Of course! We can find something that would be acceptable for him. Perhaps a nice crystal or an old map! Aristocrats love old maps!"

As they depart, he is speaking to Grax. "Now, Gerald, did you watch how Cookie won the game? You have to be sharper if you want to win next time...."

"Roughing people up? I can't imagine anyone took kindly to that. Do you know if they found any sign of her?" The little bird bobs as it asks.

"Excellent idea, Ceru! Your help is already proving to be a wonderful decision!" Javon wriggles look of Grax's hold and squawks. He flies up and out the door before flapping back in. "Uh, which way to the docks? Is that where we came from?"

Javon squawks. "And how much do you charge for your services? That imp there seems eager to work with us. Why should we hire you instead of him?"

Javon flies over to the blue jay. He speaks to the bird in his typical nasally tone. "Hello! Your name is Ceru? I am Javon. Are you a translator, as the bartender said? We may be looking to hire you. What languages to do you speak?"

Grax tries to sit at a table and bring out some snacks for Jaxon. While he straps himself in and the bird has no problems perching on the table, the crunchy beetles keep falling away from the table. Javon flies off to catch them, then lands on the bar where Therin is speaking to the bartender.

"Oh yes, we are new here. Have you lived on this plane all your life? My name is Javon! Perhaps you can help us."

Sorry, I was away for the weekend.

Grax emerges from the blue flames with a snort and a cross look on his face, while Javon continues to try and reply to the wyrd. "And see here! How dare you speak to me like that?! I am no mere bird! I am a Pathfinder!". The half-orc corrals him onto the ship. "Oh Gerald! Thanks goodness. Did you hear all of that?" Grax merely grunts and carries their things aboard.

Once they exit the ship, Javon caws and flies upward to get a view of the city. He flies back down. "Oh, marvelous! This is an exquisite sight! Yes, we should find a place for some refreshments and to meet the locals! Perhaps one of them has seen Jamila."

Javon flies down to land on Grax's arm. The small bird looks at the large half-orc. "Gerald, Present us!"

Javon nods. "Gerald, you hear that? If the Captain tells you something, don't argue. Just get it done. Very good..."

The half-orc rolls his eyes a bit, but then nods to the gnome Captain wordlessly.

Knowledge, Planes: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

"Port Eclipse, you say? Oh, yes, a wonderful place! Wonderful! I, uh...wait, I have been there, yes? I was almost certain of it..." The bird tries to remember anything he's heard about that through the holes in his memory

Javon nods. "A symbol of the Concordance would be helpful to show her. Barring that, perhaps we can use Ashasar's name and knowledge of her position as the liaison to the Seat of Balance to help Jamila give pause."

"So we go from hunting Jamila to rescuing her! But if she hasn't been in contact with the Concordance, she won't know that. She might try to attack us or run from us, even trick us if she catches wind of our pursuit." Javon stands on the table, eating worms from a small bowl.

"Well, what they do say? 'Adversity makes for strange bedfellows' It would seem that we are now to treat the Concordance as allies. And we're still keen on releasing the Duke of Thunder! Excellent! Perhaps he will be able to help me as well!" Javon squawks as he reads the letter.

Javon flies down from his safe perch where he had watched the whole fight with wings covering his eyes. Now, however, the Pathfinder seems more confident. "Perhaps this is for the best. If the Concordance has concerns about the Society's actions, we can bring you for an audience. Helping us in the face of a threat only would provide a greater reason to take your counsel too."

He flies up to be at the same level with Ashasar. "What exactly is this Seat of Balance? A guide or leader for the Concordance?"

"Fairuza, perhaps you can lay out these consequences to the Society leadership. Would you be willing to accompany us back to the material plane?" Javon flits away from her whirlwind in the center of the room, landing on a shelf.
