Jake appears unrecognizable to those he are aware he is in disguise. His mannerisms, movements, and even accent are different than his regular persona. He bows briefly to the man. He does have the exotic Tabaxxi, Shirraj, on his arm. With the other, he combs his fingers through his hair. The remaining members of the party are either posing as bodyguards, secretaries, or servants. Ahhhh, indeed, sir. It is possible. I travel so frequently, it is hard to say. I have been to Baldur's Gate, and everywhere else, expanding my holdings. Where can the guests expect to hydrate?

Before heading down to the docks, Jake aoplies some make-up to roughen his appearance and dons some common clothes and a dock worker's hat. He speaks in a rough commoner's dialect from the dock ward to complete the disguise. Deception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 He approaches the man with the sign. I'm yer man, mate. Needin' some delivery folks?

Nice trick, kitty, but my make-up and disguises are only half the battle. I can change my dialect, and I have already passed myself off as a noble for years in this city.

Don't be ridiculous. This is NOT my first engagement, friend. I will be wearing this face when I deliver and quite an elaborate noble disguise when playing the part of our esteemed invitee. Thus, I can participate in both ventures.

Is there a real Gerwin Jelud, and if not, what can you tell me about the alias? I would proudly offer my services to impersonate the noble. It is sort of my thing.

I see no reason why we should not all go on a night time excursion to the island. He turns to the underling of their employer. Can you, or better yet, your mysterious and unidentified boss, get us transportation to the island on an evening while we await invitations? Also, what did you say we were getting paid again for this heist?

Seems pretty straightforward. If we do not have a floorplan, we will need to arrive silently and case the place first. Are we getting an invite to the shindig in 10 days? I am certainly adept enough at disguise to attend as an alias.

Jake nods to the newcomer human. Well met, Rev.So, elf friend, what do they call you, and I too will try my damnest to remember it. He smiles broadly and winks at Heather.

Jake approaches the others, and he bows deeply at the waist, and giving a leg, so to speak. He is a handsome man with blue eyes and long blonde hair pulled into a pony-tail. He wears fine clothes, but they do not hide his studded leather armor or rapier strapped to his waist. Well, hello all. I am Jake Dash, and it is my pleasure to make your acquaintance. He slides into the booth with his back to the wall and folds his hands before him. So, Heather, do you know anything about this job?

That was the site I was going to provide. Thanks! Jake moves towards the villagers. Indeed we will join you. We could use the rest and respite. Well done Larsis!

You are correct in your analysis regarding expending multiple Efforts, but as a First Tier Character, you only have 1 Effort, or maybe 2, if you have taken that as one of your four tier advancement bonuses early in the tier progression.(However, we have not received 4 XP yet to enable our characters to have done so.) The number of Efforts that you can use per action is limited by the number that you possess based upon your tier. Edge can be useed to lessen the amount of your pool cost when expending Effort, and that can be done multiple times based on the number of Efforts used, like at higher tiers when you have more than 1. If it does not say that in the Using Effort section, then I am certain that it does in the character creation sections. I will point you to a particular page whan I get home this evening from work and have the rules in front of me.

Rule Note: Larsis, using Effort to reduce the DC by steps is not added to your d20 roll. The GM simply presents a lower DC for your straight d20 roll without bonuses. Also, you only have an Effort of 1. That means that you can only expend 1 Effort on an action, not 3. So, the result would be a DC lowered one step, and with your Edge of 1, you would expend 2 points from your Speed pool.

I commend you on the adoption, and I will assist you in any way that I can. My RL tabletop group has been playing Numenera for about 5 weeks now, and the most important advice that I can offer is that it requires a great deal of DM interraction to drive the plotline due to the importance of roleplaying and the ease of mechanics with the system. Good luck, and I look forward to continuing.
