Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Inire, unless she had been told otherwise, hides within the goods that they were told to deliver. It wasn't the best place to be, but she'd stick out much less - especially since too many people would be even more suspicious.

If she were told not to hide, she'd not have her armor active, and use the stealth roll to hide Scribe amongst the carty things!

It's sort of been a long time coming... but with my new workload, I've found that I have nearly no time for Paizo at all. As you've probably noticed, my posts have fallen both in count and quality... and I've come to realize I cannot keep up with the majority of my games - whether because they move too quickly, or because I completely lack the inspiration.

Ultimately, I've decided to drop out of nearly all of my campaigns for now. Sorry for any trouble this causes. I can stick around and do an inadequate job of trying to see my way out, or you can feel free to bot my character.

Inire eats her food quietly, before snapping her journal shut the next morning. As she's told to hide her weapon, she looks to it, then to Nadya. The weapon wasn't going to be an easy fit no matter where they decided to put it... and she didn't like the idea of having to reach it separately if a fight were to break out. It just didn't seem safe. "I'll keep mine... and just hide me, maybe?"

Beats it by a lot, since a failed attack on a castle doesn't go down lightly. :P Just remind Inire to set up bear traps under snow piles in their parlor. :)

As a heads-up: Today is my last day at mthe first job I ever had. I've worked here for just shy of nine years... But I've decided I need to move on to a job that pays better... As a result, I'm going to be picking up a lot more hours at work, changing my schedule in the process, and ultimately having a lot less time for those things and people that I love. That being said... I'll become less of a post hog in the majority of my games. Things might change in the future, but at the moment, I'm hoping to continue playing in my games.

Inire looks over the map, eyes darting from room to room, taking in subtle details as best she could from what she had. "Any other windows or doors in? Only one entrance also means only one exit. Any subtle dangers that you'd seen... activated accidentally?"

Inire chews on her lip as she watches the little fey come out. She didn't really have any idea what it was... but it seemed harmless enough. It took care of her kids for her while she was away, after all. She slowly took a seat on the floor, to hopefully not spook it, and pulled out her diary.

Sorry that I'm not adding much, but the scene seems very... back-and-forth, for now. I can have her roll to aid the diplomacy, but nothing comes to mind for how.

"I wish we had some honey. The more southern fey are supposed to like it..." Inire says, though given that it was a fiction trope, it may not have been entirely true.

"All we really have to do is wait." she adds, looking towards the fireplace. "We could try to go hunting and foraging some more?" she asks, looking towards Eirikr, and tilting her head.

Inire returns to the main room with a shrug, having not spotted anything worth noting, just in time to hear the story and for Nathara to explain what was going on.

"We met a troll on the other side, before coming here named Teb... we burned the body." she says, before changing tack. "How large and how far is her home? When she last visited the town, how large was her entourage?"

"They can use dolls, too, from what I heard." she added, looking between Morgraine and Tiferet. "If you think it had to be physical..." she trails off looking between Eirikr and Ashen. Nathara being on high alert finally dawned on Inire as something more than just tension over the situation or something previously unseen regarding Nathara and children or families, but rather of a warrior-mage tipped off to something nasty, when she suggests as much.

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Not-so-quiet Mouse isn't able to accommodate the spirits that rested in the creaky old bones of a well-lived in home, as she swiftly darted to double check each room for signs of infiltration - water near windows, or back doors and the like - trying to find something that Eirikr might be able to start with if there was something for her to find.

Technically, it wasn't a lie, even.

If she could talk without doing so in front of the children, she would continue the conversation, highlighting on what she saw as the important bits.

"There were moments when she was herself. She swapped between Common and Skald. She said that her mother was a guide named Nadya... but she was eventually pulled back to the doll."

Most of my 'good player' friends don't have the time for a new system. :( Sorry!

On the topic of this game, though. At level 7, Inire gains Bardic Performance! Her level is treated as being 4 lower for benefits. No problem! All of the performance benefits are at -4 levels, in fact.

So, my question is (and as the player, I'm pro-me :p), once Inire is level 11 and counts as a level 7 bard for Inspire Courage, will she be able to begin a bardic performance as a move action? Similarly, at level 17 (Bard '13'), will she be able to begin a performance as a swift action?

RWBY:
"Sometimes bad things just happen." - Qrow, and later Yang. I'm so, so sorry.

Inire was quiet as she entered and looked to the various things that made this house a home. Then came the next line, and she closed her eyes. Not quite red-on-white... but the white backdrop of the world had made everything so much more stark ever since they had arrived.

There had been gray before they knew, but Eirikr during camp had moved forward with black-on-white. And now with the children, a gentle lie from Eve might have helped, but while Evelyn's instinct was to lie, Inire's was to tell the truth.

I'll leave things floating until sometime tomorrow, to allow someone else to do what they feel is right. :)

Inire toyed with her ravens a bit more, as her eyes moved back to the children, same arm tucking her book against her as she gave the children a small wave. Her voice stayed low when she spoke in Skald. "Hi."

I don't really know anything about the Savage Worlds system... but old-west stuff isn't something I'm normally into, regardless. The other two parts make it a bit better, though. :P

Inire snaps her book shut and tucks it under her arm; the weather seems a lot less... bad. She follows slightly behind and to the side of the group as they move through the tiny town to the little house on the end, pausing as the woman starts to release the dogs from their bonds. She smiles as the dogs run into their own little houses, and then looks quickly to the sound of scampering feet as the woman calls out. She'd expected a husband.

When the children round the corner the tiny smile returns for a moment, as she watches them passing through the middle distance, but then the smile slowly slips away as her eyes move away from them and towards the snow, eyes falling. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, drawing her book in closer to herself.

Inire looks up from her book, where she was busily scribbling. "I'm not doing anything I can't do anywhere else." she says, supplying a shrug. "I'm ready to go when you are." she adds, but makes a silent note to herself that she doesn't like quiet towns that don't like outsiders. It usually means more than it says at face value.

But a lie that Inire would take at face value. Even if she didn't believe it, it wouldn't have any positive impact to not believe. Inire whispers through the connection, now that the woman is gone, "Sorry, Eirikr." then starts to speak once again, though still quietly, "I'm not very good at lying... but it's easier to not lie, and instead tell the truth. Don't offer what the other person isn't asking for. Tiferet, Eirikr, Nathara and myself are all here to protect Morgraine and Eve. That's not our only purpose, but it's entirely true. We don't really need to say Morgraine is Jadwiga, either. People will draw that conclusion on their own.. or won't. And lying about it will just lead to trouble if they don't believe it on their own. Likewise, we don't really need to say what Eve is doing unless they specifically ask... and then she's infinitely better at convincing someone of her job than I'll ever be." she adds quietly, picking out information from stories she'd read.

Then, much more quietly to Eve, "How are you holding up? You seem... off. And who's Malcolm?"

I've no problem with the same names. When the deities are X, then they'd likely be called X. That's simply their name. It's the titles that would be most likely to change!

Inire watches as everyone begins to separate in one way or another, Tiferet with the mother, Eirikr with a shopkeeper. Nathara seemed to be doing well, Morgraine was... kind of in her element? Evelyn had seemed off for the greater part of the last day, though, so she moved to stick nearby, but wouldn't talk much until Mierul wasn't obviously nearby.

"I'll check." Inire responds in elven. She'd seen Eirikr's confused look, but as long as the fey woman was with them, she couldn't readily speak, especially on the subject of traveling from across the world.

She quickly moves off ahead, to investigate the building that had been the church. Not being particularly religious would likely help with the 'culture shock'. Hopefully at least.

Tongue of the Land (Su): Animals, elementals, fey, and plants are magically able to understand you when you speak Druidic, as if you were using speak with animals or tongues. If speaking to creatures of different types at the same time, you can allow all of them to understand you or speak understandably to just one type at a time. For example, if speaking to a group of animals and fey, you can make yourself understandable to all of them, just to the animals, or just to the fey.

Totally worth taking if it didn't have that pesky 'when you speak Druidic' portion. :P

What's odd is that it doesn't say they can talk back.

Inire also helps to break down the camp, but is infinitely aware of whether or not she's getting in the way. Should she feel even remotely like she is, she'll move away from the sleds.

She tries out some of the mantis meat for breakfast (which hopefully doesn't smell too bad, cooking). Once the exoskeleton has a small amount of char, she breaks it open to try the meat. "Chewy. Tastes like shrimp and mushrooms." she informs them, using Elven. Which means they might actually be able to get an exotic meal out of the rest of it, if the others were willing to stomach it!

Inire nods, before heading off to skirt the edge of the road, roughly level with the front of the caravan. She'll stay in cover as much as she can... and if the Forlarren isn't between her and those linked by whisper, she'll use that to converse. She chooses to speak in Elven as she does; it was significantly less likely the Forlarren would understand it, given the attitude of the northern elves towards outsiders of all kinds - even their own half-elves and diplomats. She keeps Scribe unsheathed during her movements, just in case something catches her unaware.

Similar. Inire doesn't trust the woman because she just happens to be looking for the person that we just happened to meet, with no mention of the others. And this with us being in northern Irrisen (when the only information on the black rider that I have being that he rode south :p), its just too coincidental that she's asking only about the one rider who wasn't already stated to be dead.

And there's just no tactful way to get that across without being in her face with it, and sharing far too much.

Which is extra unfortunate, given that if Inire didn't have cause to distrust her due to actions, she'd likely ask for a story about the riders. :p

The explicit focus on the Black Rider appearing near here, when the woman was asking about the riders in general lined up too well with their knowledge of the black rider having traveled to them via portal. But while she didn't particularly like the focus being spot-on, she doesn't seem to pick up on any more subtleties. So, she stays quiet.

Inire stays quiet throughout the entire exchange... she'd have to find someone who knew how to speak Tian, or a way to learn it if she was going to pretend to be a guide from there... or something to that effect. For now, simply acting as though she weren't listening, and instead just reacting to tone, while she watched the fire seemed... ideal.
