Good morning,
I understand there are huge delays in processing requests. I'll be honest, I don't know why the power to change subscriptions was taken out of the users' hands and that we're now required to email or call to get changes made. That said, given the delays, will Paizo be accepting returns and issuing refunds for unwanted shipments for which we've submitted requests a month in advance to cancel? I do not want to pay for items I no longer want and have requested weeks ago to be stopped.

Good morning
I've sent an email with no response a week ago. I want to cancel my "Pathfinder Adventure Path" subscription effective immediately. There is an upcoming shipment for Issue 1 of the new path but I do not want that. Thank you. I wish to keep my miniatures subscription for now.

Thank you
John

I'm curious if there are any trait/feat/etc combinations that allow an arcane caster to turn a 1st level spell into a cantrip or a multiple use/day feature?

Shadow Lodge

I have some questions around the Cartomancer Witch's ability to deliver touch attacks through the Spell Deck.

Deliver Touch Spells:

Deliver Touch Spells (Su)

At 3rd level, when the cartomancer uses the Deadly Dealer feat with a card from her spell deck, the card is not destroyed and gains the returning weapon special ability.

In addition, the cartomancer can deliver a touch spell with a thrown card. This uses the Deadly Dealer feat (see below), except the attack is resolved as a ranged touch attack and the card deals no damage of its own. This ability can be used with any card (not just one from the cartomancer's spell deck).

1) The returning special ability seems to indicate that the thrown weapon remains 'somewhere' from the time the character throws it until the start of the character's next turn. Where is the weapon during this time? Is it flying back towards the thrower or embedded in the target?
2) The returning property seems very dangerous to use for a Cartomancer, since losing even a single card 'ruins' the Spell Deck as a familiar (i.e. the witch can't memorize any spells).
3) It also says "This ability can be used with any card". Does that refer to the Returning Special Ability or just the delivery touch spells? They are both listed under the overall ability "Deliver Touch Spells".

Bonus) Is there an item that would give the cards the ability to immediately return to the witch's grasp after being thrown/resolved? I saw the Blinkback Belt but that wouldn't work for these.

Thanks

Are there feats, traits, items, etc. that work for the Arcanist to increase their Spells Prepared for the day?

Second question, Do they qualify as "Spontaneous Casters" for those feats, items, etc. that add extra Spells Known (Though those aren't as useful for an Arcanist)

Shadow Lodge

I was curious if anyone has converted the Witch class into a caster like the Arcanist? Would this be an even trade to play a Witch but with the Arcanist method of learning/preparing/casting spells?

I'm trying to understand the use of Final Embrace (feat) with the White Haired Witch's Constrict ability. Final Embrace requires having Constrict, and then in the benefit it says you can Constrict. Does this mean you Constrict TWICE each time you grapple? Otherwise, what's the point of Final Embrace?

Is there any reason that an Elven Magus couldn't have Kapenia Dancer and Spell Dancer?

Kapenia Dancer (Link: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/magus/archetypes/paizo---magus -archetypes/kapenia-dancer) removes your initial Armor Proficiencies but says nothing about what happens when you get Medium / Heavy Armor (So I'm assuming they wouldn't be 'touched' RAW and whether they bump down to Light / Medium or you just don't get light doesn't matter at the moment).

The Archetype doesn't 'lose' any other Magus features, but instead gains a Free Feat and expanded Arcana Options.

Spell Dancer (Elf) (Link: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/core-races/elf/spell-dancer-magus-elf) changes Magus Class Skills, modifies the Magus's level 1 Arcane Pool spending, replaces the 5th level Feat and the important thing: Replaces Medium and Heavy Armor features with Insight Bonuses to AC.

It seems these would fit nicely together and give the Kapenia Dancer an AC comparable with other Magi.

The Witch's Evil Eye Hex says it's mind-affecting (meaning that it cannot affect many creatures). The Shaman's Evil Eye does not has this restriction. Anyone know if that's intentional or an oversight?

The Cartomancer has an ability "Spell Deck" which it says replaces Witch's Familiar ability. The first paragraph seems to indicate that the only thing the Spell Deck does is store the spells like a witch's familiar. However, the next section says "The following familiar ability works differently for a cartomancer" and it speaks about Deliver Touch Spells.

Being that it calls out that the Spell Deck gets at least one of the familiar abilities but doesn't say something like "In addition, the Spell Deck gets this one Familiar Ability and this is how it functions", does that mean that the Spell Deck gets other Familiar Abilities that make sense (Alertness, Evasion, etc)? Or is it just a poor wording for that particular ability and it meant "Your Spell Deck also gets this ability"?

Can someone take Improved Familiar and instead of getting an entirely new familiar, just use it to improve their existing familiar?

For instance, can someone who's had a raven familiar for 7 levels take Improved Familiar, choose faerie dragon (meeting all prerequisites of course) but just keep their raven with the faerie dragon statistics? Since familiars are normally spirits inhabiting the body of an animal, this doesn't seem to be any type of mechanical advantage other than for consistency for the character.

Is it possible to choose an Archetype for a class but not take one of the class ability substitutions?

Thanks

The Undine Watersinger (Bard Archetype) gains a few abilities that look pretty cool. However, they leave a lot of questions open and I was hoping to get some feedback.

For ease of reference, here they are:

Watersong:

Watersong (Su): At 1st level, a watersinger can use bardic performance to manipulate and control the shape of water within 30 feet. A successful Perform check allows the bard to animate and control a 5-foot-cube of water. The watersinger can command the water to take various forms, bend, rise, fall, or sustain a shape, and can make it support weight as if it were solid ice. For example, the watersinger could create a pillar of water (to provide cover), ladder, channel, bridge, stairs, slide, and so on. The manipulated water is as slippery as normal ice. This ability cannot create forms more fragile or complex than what could be carved in normal ice. While under the bard's control, the water has hardness 0 and 3 hit points per inch of thickness. At level 3, the manipulated water gains hardness 1, and this increases by +1 for every 3 bard levels beyond that. At 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th level, the volume affected increases by an additional 5-foot cube (these cubes must be adjacent to each other). The manipulated water retains its shape for 1 round after the bard stops spending bardic performance rounds to maintain it.

Waterstrike:

Waterstrike (Su): At 3rd level, the watersinger can spend 1 round of bardic performance to command any water he is currently manipulating with his watersong performance to lash out and strike an opponent with a slam attack. The watersinger uses his base attack bonus and Charisma bonus to make this attack, and deals 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage plus his Charisma bonus. The attack can originate from any square of water the bard is manipulating, and the water can get a flanking bonus or help a combatant get one, but cannot make attacks of opportunity. The water can make multiple attacks per round if your base attack bonus allows you to do so. At 10th level, the water's slam damage increases to 1d8 points and the water gains a reach of 10 feet. At 15th level, the water's slam damage increases to 2d6 points. At 20th level, the water's slam damage increases to 2d8 points.

My questions are:

1) Does the water used in "Watersong" have to be in one solid 5x5x5 block already? Or can you use a shallow pool that's equivalent to 125 cubic feet of water?

2) Can you move the water manipulated with "Watersong" away from its source? At what speed? (e.g. if you animated water from a lake, can the water be moved onto land?)

3) Can the water manipulated with "Watersong" be wrapped around someone like a poor-man's hold person?

4) Can the attacks from "Waterstrike" be used to perform Combat Maneuvers like Trip or Disarm?

5) Does using "Waterstrike" for a round cost 1 Bardic Performances? (1 to maintain Watersong and 1 for Waterstrike?)

Thanks!

I was considering playing an Inquisitor, as the idea of a Monster Hunter in a campaign sounds interesting. However, I was curious if there was any additional feat support for them? Thanks.

Shadow Lodge

Just curious, I have many ongoing subscriptions with Paizo and recently ordered the Advanced Player's Guide book. It arrived, but I noticed I didn't get a PDF of that. I have a PDF version of every other item I've ordered, so this was confusing. Do you not get the PDF if you buy the book?

Shadow Lodge

Just curious if there is any type of appeals process for Pathfinger Society adventures?

Thanks!

John

Or just one?

Question, I'm trying to decide what to play. Should I base my decision on the Campaign RPG that will be ready next year? Will our characters convert to the new rules in whatever form they start in? For instance, if I start a bard now using 3.5 rules, in a year will I just 'transform' him into a Pathfinder RPG bard? Same with races, will the race abilities be changed to the Pathfinder stats?

Shadow Lodge

I'd like to add in some prestige classes and affiliations for the various organizations and such in the Pathfinder world. I'm thinking of creating affiliations for some of the organizations such as the Hellknights, Korvosa Guard, Darklight Ladies, and Pathfinder Society. I think some of the organizations would be a good prospect for a prestige class such as the Sable Company.

I was just curious if anyone has already created these? Otherwise, when I create them I can post.

Are there any Varisia Affiliations that have been published? I know that the Dungeon Magazine Adventures had Affiliations.

Shadow Lodge

Am I missing something? I see mechanics for spending Harrow Points, but where is it detailed what they are and how to get them?

Having only played Rise of the Runelords (And we're only on the 2nd adventure), I will be running Crimson Throne. As DM I want to offer my player's options for races/classes, but want to limit it somewhat to what makes sense for the setting.

What are some races (from Races of... books) and classes that might fit well into the setting.

Here is a list I came up with so far:
Races:
Whisper Gnome
Raptoran
Bhuka (Sandstorm)
Aventi (Stormwrack)
