I could say I am cautiously optimistic.
I watched this show first some five-six years ago after growing up on Star Trek and Stargate SG-1.
It hit differently.
There was this element of realpolitic and real people. It captured my attention really well.
It holds a special place in my heart. I just hope they give it justice. Cause it deserves it.

Interesting.
From a personal point of view, I never had a problem with it in the comics (although I wasn't collecting much Marvel at the time). It made sense to me, since Sam (as a character) had been around since before I was born, and had been considered Cap's long time friend and partner.
In the MCU, however, I do have a problem with it, but only in how they go about doing it. I thought Steve going to the past and staying there was incredibly poorly written and stupid. It would have made more sense had he let Peggy live the happy life she had, while retiring to a nice cabin in the woods with Sharon, thereby avoiding further disruptions to the space/time continuum.
He lived out his life in a different timeline and returned to this one to give Sam the shield. No disruptions.

DerNils wrote: Unfortunately Feige seems to dislike the TV franchises so will never, ever take something from them for the movies. Plus, as we just learned, the next Spiderman movie may very well be completely Shield, Skrull and Avengers-free.
To be brutally honest, if Sony and Disney don't come back together, the next Spiderman will probably be animated and/or a complete reboot again, and crossover with Venom on top.
He doesn't dislike them, tv franchises are under Ike Perlmutter's control and Feige wants nothing to do with Perlmutter and won't permit him to have a say in anything.

Cap definitely would be a paladin, one that would use his powers to inspire, give hope and he'd be an awesome leader.
Supes, is simply lawful good. A truly good man. Which is an amazing thing and something that people of the DC universe should be eternally grateful for.
Cyclops is lawful neutral, leaning to good. He wants to be a hero and do good, but he is too boorish and practical to be a paladin.

Sorry, I was unable to find any mention of this anywhere.
Is there any explanation why halflings and gnomes can move as fast as humans, or why are humans slower than elves? I've been trying to wrap my head around those numbers for several days now.

The ringing sound at the end of credits is an omage to Iron Man and him making his first armor. It's not announcing anything as this movie is the end. That is why there are no post credit scenes. The Russos said so.

KahnyaGnorc wrote: There's a plethora of theories and speculation about time travel, in the real world and in the MCU. No one, not even Bruce or Tony, knows which is/are (as not all are mutually exclusive) correct, if any even are. It could also be complex enough that multiple seemingly-incompatible theories could appear to be correct in different circumstances.
The presence/absence of the Time Stone, the interference of other realities, or meddling of god-like beings could also change things completely.
You know that Mysterio is a consummate liar, and that nothing he says can ever be taken at face value? I am pretty sure he is BSing Fury and the rest.

Benchak wrote: According to the Russos, Cap goes to a different timeline to be with Peggy, before returning to the main branch to talk with Sam. I imagine that he and Peg do root out Hydra in that reality. What he does in the alternate timeline may be resolved, but it doesn't justify the callousness and ingratitude he displays toward the other Avengers, people we thought were his friends and family. He appears over the last 12 years to build deep relationships with people in the present. Including people who repeatedly risked their lives, loved ones, and actual freedom for him. Scott Lang went through that house arrest for him. Wanda, Vision, etc. all went on the run because they supported him and his vision of things. They need him, rely on him, look to him for leadership, and love him deeply. And he looks at them, all he's done and been through with them, and thinks, "Nah, f&!& them, I don't need'em and I don't care if I don't see them again for three generations," and decides to go spend 70 years in a different universe with someone he, comparatively speaking, actually knows far less well. It's not a happy ending for many viewers because it looks like he just doesn't actually give a f!&& about anyone but Peggy--who is the one person who doesn't really need him at all and has plenty to give to other people besides him. Even if from their standpoint he was never gone, he will have changed and he has given them the message he can live without them just fine, without grief or regret. Which is a horrible way to think about people you rallied around you and got imprisoned on your behalf. TL;DR Cap is a terrible friend.
I will not harp further on about this; I am aware some are happy with the story and I don't want to keep stomping all over the issue. Just clarifying that one point.
I think he earned his end.

Bjørn Røyrvik wrote: I know about the legal reasons. It's still wrong. Seriously, if I founded Super Comics and somehow managed to outsell Marvel and DC and wrangled my own Superman to be the only legally acceptable character of that name, it would be wrong.
The only Captain Marvel worth speaking of is Billy Batson.
Which this movie doesn't seem to be able to manage properly.
1. There is no way you can possibly know that from 2 2 minute trailers.
2. This movie is aimed at kids, not adults. Don't make the mistake of disparaging a movie for not having you in their target audience.

About 12 years ago on twitter.
He was a provocateur. He apologized profusely over the years for those tweets because he PROGRESSED AS A PERSON.
The notion that someone can't improve and is always the person they were a decade or more ago is abhorrent.

Dumai's Wells should be hard R Well, Egwene is the co-protagonist of the series, so it'd be helpful if either her or Rand was up there for him (ideally both, but Rand is a bit of an ahole for large chunks of the series, albeit by design). Rand is still the likable one of the two.
