As you all know, Blizzard unveiled Diablo Immortal at the latest Blizzcon, while all the fans were expecting a Diablo IV reveal, which didn't happen. They were pretty much booed off stage, and, which I kinda like, were not immmediately in a panicked damage control mode which would ruin their reputation further. They "leaked" some news to Kotaku that Diablo IV is being developed, codenamed project Fenris, and then went silent. Now a new part of the puzzle reveals itself. To quote
Fun.
Another adaptation, this time by HBO. Michael B Jordan, Michael Shannon and Sophia Boutella. Very well done. Has that oldschool SF feel while still staying fresh. I am also crying tears while laughing at people who actually say that this movie is an Equilibrium ripoff. Don't people read books? Oh right.
These are some of the rules that I generally enforce in my games. Some may consider them strict, but I am lenient. Mostly they are guidelines. If you have any similar rules, please feel free to add them. 1. THOU SHALT NOT ENGAGE YOUR FELLOW PCs IN MORTAL COMBAT, unless agreed upon by both players and if it will advance the story in some way
Squirrel girl is cast apparently I have no idea who the actress is but she's really cute. Also quite attractive. How good are her acting chops?
Describe a movie in such a way that it is really difficult to guess what would it be, but that it actually makes sense. And leave the answer in the spoiler tag. Here is mine. Two orphan boys get into a fight, brought abut by the third orphan boy, they resolve their differences, and punish the third orphan boy. Spoiler: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Aaaand we just got treated to the first 8 minutes of the fan film called "The Lord Inquisitor" The film is set in Warhammer 40.000 universe, and by what I've seen it has amazing visuals, great music, solid voice acting and the only thing that bothers me is the terrible facial animations and very stiff mocap.
So let's kick the thread off with this awesome poster I'm loving it. They added color! Nobody tell Snyder.
Sooo, got a free ticket to watch the film in a cinema. Good thing too, probably wouldn't have paid money to watch it otherwise. Now I'm a fan of the Warcraft franchise, I played all of the strategy games, and WoW for years. Anyway. I will first mention the good things about the movie.
The CGI was magnificent as well. Orcs looked freaking real. Azeroth looked freaking real. Stormwind...it was breathtaking. Ironforge too, for the brief moment it appeared. Magic was awesomely done, the way magic should be done in every movie from now on. Visible, physically there and powerful. Khadgar was good. The guy who acted him clearly decided to earn his wage. Durotan was good as well. The stuff that sucked. The story. I don't mean that the story sucked. It was the story of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, adapted to more resemble Warlords of Draenor. I mean that the script was very poorly written. Very. The acting. Acting was terrible. I mean terrible. Gul'Dan, Durotan and his wife and Orgrim Doomhammer were also ok. The dude playing Lothar...sorry Ragnar in alliance clothes, just gave me a good reason never to start watching Vikings. Dominic Copper was terrible as king, and Ruth Negga was clearly phoning her performance in.
Anyway, I would give the movie a 4/10, maybe 5/10 because the action scenes were really well done. But the poor acting and the overly simplified story detracted from my fun. And I walked into the movie theater with absolutely no expectations.
DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures have announced that the production has began for the live-action Ghost in the Shell film, starring Scarlett Johansson (Lucy, Avengers: Age of Ultron) and directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman). The film is shooting in Wellington, New Zealand. The film will be produced by Steven Paul (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance), Avi Arad (The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2, Iron Man), Ari Arad (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance). Michael Costigan (Prometheus), Tetsu Fujimura (Tekken), Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, whose animation studio Production I.G produced the Japanese Ghost in the Shell fmovie and television series, and Jeffrey Silver (300, Edge of Tomorrow) will executive produce. Oh yeah because those names JUST FILL ME WITH CONFIDENCE...aside from Avi Arad, and Mitsuhisa of course.
alpha: you are confident and your own man. you do your own thing and have complete confidence in everything you do. you have your self doubts, but you don't let it cloud your judgment and logic. you are well liked by almost everyone, and you just have an easy charm and swagger about your presence. women are drawn to your charisma and presence. you enjoy being social and having lots of people around. you are a natural leader beta: you are kind of shy and introverted and not very confident in yourself. you are constantly plagued by insecurities and self-doubts and you can never commit to anything in the fear that you will fail in it. you are somewhat liked by people but they tend to look at you rather condescendingly and woman tend to friendzone you. you are nervous around other people and social situations because you're always afraid that people are judging you. you are a born follower omega: you are the polar opposite of the alpha male, but in a good way. like the alpha male you are confident, intelligent and have a sense of charisma about you, but unlike the alpha male, you are completely your own person. you do not need anyone, and you can even be emotionally distant due to your complete self-possession. you trust few people and foster even fewer intimate relationships. omegas do not care for leadership by others as they are perfectly capable of leading themselves gamma male: you are sort of the "invisible" guy. there is nothing really spectacular about you. you are not a beta, but neither are you an alpha. your personality and presence usually blends in with the rest of the room and you're just sort of...there. people like you just fine and you usually don't have too much trouble with girls, but all the same, there is nothing particularly memorable or remarkable about you. you are not a born leader nor a inherent follower, although you can take on those tasks depending on the situation sigma male: you are a manipulative mastermind. you are a spider waiting to lay your trap. you possess a cunning, intuitive mind and can sway people to your will. you don't have the casual swagger of the alpha or the omega but you do have a clever presence about you and people tend to be both wary and respect you for that. you can often be even more powerful than the alpha or the omega male in social situations due to your ability to persuade and manipulate them. you are neither a follower or a leader but rather a wild card I'm a full on Omega. To eternal annoyance of my alpha best friend.
A fan film with quite a decent budget, good acting and nice effects. I liked it quite a lot. It lasts for about 25 minutes.
Mine is Moorhuhna (don't ask) a Harpy ranger. The party tore down her nest and the sorcerer incinerated it, killing three of her children that were inside. He regretted it, because he didn't think there was anything in the nest. But what he, and the entire party regretted more was their mom. Who, after she found out, payed a lot of money to find who killed her young, and decided to kill them. Their first combat was terrible for the party. She was heavily prepared for the combat, and took the sorcerer down in a single full attack. The rest of the party scampered about and fired what ranged weapons they had at her, hurting her enough to get physical. So she switched to her greatsword and did several flyby attacks gravely wounding the fighter and dropping the rogue to near death in negatives. Fighter then readied a counter attack and critically hit her, reducing her to single digit hit points. She then dropped the flashbang and escaped. After that, she began hounding the party all the time, so much so that the sorcerer got a vest with a DR against arrows and everyone had a ranged weapon with them at all times. In the end the sorcerer killed her with a well timed critical with the scorching ray. I still use her stats from time to time. Init +3 Senses Darkvision 60ft; Perception +14 (+16 vs. Humans)
My character was an elven rogue. We were at the base of an 80foot tall cliff and my character had just climbed on top of it in order to destroy a magical weapon that was going to flood the entire region. That was the moment that the BBEG chose to appear with his retinue and engage the rest of the party in conversation, oblivious that my character was on top of the cliff, dismantling the weapon. And that was the moment the party decided to engage him in combat. And they did. And he was prooving too much for the party.
Welp, the movie proved profitable and popular enough that they are making another one They did pick one of the better novels to adapt though. Thoughts?
I know this is really far off and just speculation, but I think it's a cool idea. I'd hate for Hal Jordan to be shelved because some idiots forced Ryan Reynolds to make a crappy movie with a horrible script. It would be cool if they could get him back and get Idris Elba for Stewart. I'm not a fan of Guy Gardner for some reason.
I liked it. Took me a few days to finish the campaign. Good storytelling, fun battles, interesting missions and an awesome few final cinematics. A great finish to the awesome story. Since I don't care for multiplayer at all I can't say if it's more balanced than the previous one's or not. Spoiler: "Without the Khala what will we be?" Artanis looks at her with glowing blue eyes "Free" Gave me chills
Absalom:
And they could have gotten Idris Elba. I don't think that Tyrese can pull off John Stewart. Doesn't have the acting chops.
