![]() Hullo! I was just wondering how you would cover metallurgy?
Looking forward to hearing from you! ![]()
![]() Howdy! I'm working on a ranger which I'm sort of letting myself be inspired by the Punisher. But I'd like to find an ability/power/thing to exchange Hunter's Bond with. I don't feel an Animal Companion is fitting to this image I have of him, and that other part with hunting companions is in my view downright rubbish and doesn't fit the bill either. Also, I'll be using the Skirmisher archtype, since the divine nature part takes second place in his view, having dedicated himself to Calistria, not your typical nature deity, I think. So what would be an appropriate exchange for Hunter's Bond?
Any input will be quite helpful! Thank you and take care! ![]()
![]() Heya! I'm tinkering with the idea of bringing the Isle of Dread into Golarion, but I'm kinda at a loss of where to put it, though. There isn't any place that seems ideal to me. Any body out there with an idea. In case anyone wonders, the Isle of Dread is this Classic island from the old X1 module from Classic D&D.... Hope you can help, Oh Mighty Board-walkers! ![]()
![]() I've been wondering why a straight up alchemist can achieve a more superior form of mutagen, than the Master Chymist, that seems to be build around the idea of being a wee bit mutated. Is there a good rationale behind this, that I just don't see? But achieving something like True Mutagen would make a whole lot of sense for a Master Chymist, right? Fly safe! ![]()
![]() Okay, level 7 is looming up ahead, and soon choices are to be made... This is what I've got:
Skills: A bucket load... In the party we have a dwarf barbarian, Human Ftr1/Alchemist5 and a half-elf Ftr1/Rogue5. My role is pretty spread out. Buffer/off-tank/support.

![]() I ran into this article and at first it seemed sort of, how shall I put it, the normal Republicans and Tea-party are loonies, but as I read on I began to worry. Worry alot. I think this is either the script for a brilliant apocalyptic movie or the scarriest s$+@ I've seen in a loooong time... You be the judge... Let me know what you think! ![]()
![]() I know that there are gazillion NPCs over at d20pfsrd, but I wouldn't mind contributing some of my own. If this here place is the right place to do it, I dunno, but here are the ones I've made so far. Ellian Xlionior: Fighter 6 (archer)
Egad Runeshield: Fighter 5 (Dual-axe wielder)
Whittaker Blueleaf: Ranger 7 (Halfling)
I suppose they could be fleshed out some more, personality-wise and such, but I think you should be able to take care of that yourselves ;) They could prolly also be used as instant PC's, I dunno. But there mat be more coming as I draw those I've already statted up :D Enjoy! ![]()
![]() Okay... Just a clarifying questions regarding some demons' and devils' (and others) ability to summon their own kind. Am I right in assuming that these summoned creatures, from their summonig ability, not the spell, are abel to teleport. The spell list teleport as a no-no, wheras the summoning ability only goes on to say that they can't further summon creatures and are prohibited from using spellcomponents more costly than 1gp. Did that make sense? Thanks. PS The answer is needed for a game tonight. I really don't ant to fight my players too much for this ;-P ![]()
![]() Is it just me or is lesser confusion an almost useless spell? It lasts 1 round. You get a save. AND! there's still a 25% chance that if the save is failed, nothing happens! That's impressive for a spell (No, I'm being sarcastic). What is even more depressing is that it's a bard-spell, so who in their right mind would waste their precious spell-slots with this? /rant ![]()
![]() Oi! I was just taking a look at the eldrith knight. I know I'm probably about to kick a wasps nest, but anyhow... At first the diverse training ability sounded sweet, but then I probably read it wrong. Yes, you can add your EK level to your fighter and wizard level to qualify for feats. But that is all it does, right? Agreed, it's more than some other PrC gives you, but you do not gain a lot of abilities from EK. I know he gets full BaB and spells. Nice things, by all means. What I first thought Diverse Training did was enable you to add fx your wizard levels and fighter levels together with your EK levels to qualify for feats. But would that be too much? What do you think? ![]()
![]() Last night we kicked off part 4 of CoT. At some point they encountered a dottari sergeant that told them the mayor was missing and they wanted him found so they could bring him to safety. Some of you may know why he's missing, so I'll not go into that. Vahan the Paladin was in this way more or less asked by the "police" to do this thing. So far so good. Later they in fact ran into the mayor. (The wizard's sorcerer cohort "tried" to heal him with a blast of heavenly fire, didn't turn out too well, but the CG Cleric of Gorum quickly applied a CMW, so all in all no harm done... After he had conveyed his informations to the group he declared himself ready to leave, bade them farewell and began retreating. Then this amazing discussion occured. The cleric declared that it was the mayor's responsibility to stay and help out. That it was his duty. The paladin was more like 'ah well, let him go, not our problem'... This is a short version of it. I had this surreal feeling that they had somehow switched lines. The arguments coming from the cleric should have come from the paladin and vice versa. In the end the mayor tried to run away. wiggled his way out of a web spell, dodged a create pit but was cought by the bard's inquisitor cohort. Strange things happens.... ![]()
![]() I just realized that smite good/evil for half-fiends and half-celestials works different than the smite ability that celestials and fiendish creatures get. The Half-a-things get a single smite attack with a bonus, pretty much how it was in 3.x, while the Fiendish and celestials get the -now standard- smite, like the paladins, where it lasts until the opponent is defeated or 24 hours has passed or the smiter rests or some such. Is that supposed to be like that? It just seems a bit strange that the two abilities works differently. Or is that an error that crept in during "translation"? Thanks Y'all! ![]()
![]() Just finished the Devildrome last night in What Lies in Dust.
The wizard in the group is a conjurer, so he had an edge there he thought. And rightly so... To my defense I'd like to add that it didn't help Thrax that he only summoned 2 lemures in the first round, so I decided he's summon one more group before granting them haste. Second round yielded 5. But the PC wizard summoned 3 small earth elementals. Dropped haste on them and they started tearing the poor, almost defenseless lemures apart. He more or less dropped them as fast as Thrax could summon more. Only one time did he summon the maximum amount. Being beaten fair and square, he freaks out and tries to attack the party. In the end he only succeeded in inflicting 29 point of damage to the paladin, before he was torn apart by the leftovers of the conjurer's earthelementals... It was a fun session, all in all. I didn't change Thrax' tactics much, spell choice or otherwise, though some changes would have helped, though not much... They are a dangerous bunch.... Can't wait till they try tackle Delvehaven... :) ![]()
![]() Maybe I'm just vision-impaired, but I can't seem to find anything rules-wise that makes it particularly detrimental to your health if you grapple with a fire-elemental. Logically it should be a no-brainer. You. Don't. Play. With. Fire. But a greature that can set you on fire it slaps you should be a nasty thing to tango with. So if you grab a fire-elemental (or other such creatures that are on fire) what happens then? This will probably come up from time to time in my games... Thanks y'all! ![]()
![]() Okay...
I'll try to avoid spoilers... But after the party captured an adversary Spoiler: They promised to let her go if she told them all she knew, or some such... Before that they had her tied her up securely. After that they dumped her in an endless falling place (you know what I mean if you've been there) so they could go back and retrieve her once they were done with the place. This they did twice, catching her the first time with an air elementals whirlwind...
This adversary was Sian But twice the paladin accepted this treatment of their captive, and he even dumped her in the hole as far as I recall... I even stressed the point after they retrieved her the first time how she was suffering from the treatment... And I think they are planning on letting her go, but they might still surprise me... Now what would happen to a Paladin in your games doing a thing like this...? I might be really tempted at letting him loose his paladin-hood, but is that too harsh? Any comments to help a fellow gamer is more than welcome... ;) ![]()
![]() Aw'right... I was wondering how to deal with invisibility when you are making a full-attack. It's pretty obvious that you turn visible as you attack, but would you have the benefit of being invisible as you make your second attack, or third or whatever? Fx. Mr. Whirlwind attacker gulps down a potion of invisibility, the party engage the badguys, he moves in and get into a good attack position and Whirl away! He turns visible, that's clear enough, but will the other poor sods be able to react to his sudden appearance? I hope you guys have a good, and by the book, explanation for this! Thanks! ![]()
![]() In a recent game I ran, the Party, or more precisely, the party's cleric (of Gorum) supposedly CN, and the sorcerer (who is evil), caught two tieflings with their pants down (litterally). Well, the cleric demands that the two naked (male and female) tieflings pick up their weapons and fight him. They refuse. They try to surrender instead but this isn't accepted. He's a huge and intimidating character (See for yourself) and they could see that fighting him would be their undoing. They tried to escape and nearly managed to, by jumping out the windows. Without hesitating, the cleric drew his cross-bow and shot the male in the back. The ranger that was downstairs is allerted to the problems and spots the running fugitives and pops an arrow more in the back of the tiefling, stopping him (he claimed he could not tell whether they were armed or not...). The female tiefling stops and and try to stabilize her lover. While she's doing this the party moves up to the two tieflings. Again she tries to surrender and to save her loved one. When the cleric arrives at the scene he grabs his greatsword and cuts her in half. End of story! Additional info: The tiefling were a part of a murderous gang and unquestionably evil. But was this act not a wee bit on the evil side? My player claims it was not, and that it would be well within what would be expected by a cleric of Gorum, being CN and all.. What say you to yet another philosphical debate concerning good vs. not so good? Oh! And sorry for the long story. It all helps to understand the situation, right? ;-) ![]()
![]() So, I have this tiny Wacom tablet, can't even remeber what it's called. It works fairly well, only it's... well, tiny. Then I got an Aiptek tablet thingie, for free, thank goodness, but eventhough it's big, it's also absolutely rubbish. So, I was thinking with all these brilliant minds out there, some might know what tablet to look fore. My guess is something Wacom made, but let's get specific. I'm a happy amateur, but after having made my contribution to Wayfinder #2, where i struggled with my crappy Aiptek nightmare, I knew that I needed a good tablet. Okay, a good tablet is expensive, so maybe a decent one... Any first hand experiences out there? Help! :) ![]()
![]() Can't see if this has been answered before, but I know that there are wise people out there.... Is it possible to make a critical hit with, say a grapple maneuver? If you go by the rules, apparently you can't since nowhere is crits mentioned when it comes to CM, but some maneuvers are attackish (is that even a word?) fx Grapple. (is that the only one, really?) Hope Y'all can help me! Gworeth ![]()
![]() I was wondering about how these feats work together, if at all...
I'm aware that this question has been posted before Here but how one goes about handling it wasn't touched. Thanks! ![]()
![]() Okay…. This thread is dedicated to fun and often one-dimensional character-concepts, we could call them builds, since it’s a very popular term these days it seems. Some are straight forward, some are more… Brain-childish, if I can call it that. I’ll begin with a few of my own, and hopefully, You’ll add a few of your own here as well. Just for fun. I’d like to add that this is not necessarily a question of optimization, a one-trick pony rarely is, it’s more of a quest for the most outrageous modifiers, attacks, what-not you can possibly conceive… Also, this can be used to find the misinterpretations of rules that leads to exploitation, a noble goal, I’d say .J Have fun with these: #1: The barbarian that moves you to bits
Spoiler:
Stats for this example: 7th level Barbarian, Str 20
Feats: Power Attack, Improved Bull Rush, Greater Bull Rush, one free choice Rage Powers: Knockback, Power Surge, 2 free choices While using his knockback power he’ll get a +25 to his CMB. Not too shabby, I’d say… And then you could factor in stuff like charging enlarged and other likely enhancements to his strength, Bull’s Strength comes to mind here… all in all a mighty shove…. #2: I don’t have time for all these attacks…
Spoiler:
Stats:Fighter6/Cleric1 with Strength Domain, min. 13 dex and int. oh! And human!
Feats: Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Combat Expertise, Whirlwind attack, Lunge, Improved Trip, Weapon Focus (Guisarme), Weapon Specialisation (Guisarme) While Enlarged (as per the domain spell) he’ll be able to attack 52 foes in one round, potentially, due to lunge, reach and the bigger size… And to top it off, he could try to trip each and every one of them. If you sprinckle on a bit of Combat Reflexes and give him a nice dex, he’d getan AoO while they try to stand up… That is sort of insane…. #3: Pointy Dagger Dude!
Spoiler:
Stats: Rogue 10, min. Dex 17(but which rogue at lvl 10 haven’t), good Cha, Human! Human!!
Feats: 1) Two-Weapon Fighting, 1) Point Blank Shot, 3) Quick Draw, 5) Skill Focus(intimidate), 7) Dazzling Display, 9) Improved Two-Weapon Fighting Talents: 2) Finesse Rogue, 4)Weapon Training (Dagger), 6) Bleeding Attack, 8) Combat Trick (Shatter Defense), 10) Feat (Persuasive) Skills: Intimidate and Use Magic Device maxed out At lvl 10 the Rogue will have a minimum of +23 to his Intimidate check (not counting in the Cha modifier), and if you for some reason choose Half-orc, which is a viable choice, you end up with +25 but you’ll have to give up Point Blank Shot.
These were my three first ponies, hope you’ll add some of your own as well ;-) ![]()
![]() I was looking through the Grand Book... well, the Pdf version, because Denamrk is the Kingdom of Far Far Away!, and i yet again stumbled upon the term precision damage. As in: using Vital strike dont factor in precision damage and all that, and it mentions sneak attack as an example. In an old thread Jason says it will be adressed in the final version, but either I can't find it, or it sort of slipped past inspection and wasn't adressed. So I know precision damage is: Sneak attack, Duelist precise strike or whatever it's called but what else? Fighter's Weapon Specialization? His weapon traing bonus? Favored Enemy of the Ranger? Power Attack damage? what gives? I know we have some geniouses out there able to answer this, right? ;-) ![]()
![]() Yay! my first appearance!
Does that mean that for me to use medusa's wrath I need to spend two rounds with a single attack each round to get two extra attacks in round three, asuming my opponent fails his saves? ... this seem like such a bother, and too much trouble for very little gain.... Gworeth |
