Performance issues

Rules Discussion

This may be a stupid question, but here goes...
We're about to begin our first second edition game, and I am going to play a bard. But I'm not sure how the new skill system works in regards to performance. Do I have one type of performance, say oratory, and that is that, or does performance cover different types of performance, dancing, singing, lute playing and so on?
I can't seem to make heads or tails of it...

Performance covers all of them. If you want to specialize in a particular type of performance, you can take the Virtuosic Performer Skill Feat to gain an additional bonus to that particular type of Performance.

I saw the title "Performance Issues" and thought it was going to be a totally different type of thread.

Things like Performance and Craft have been simplified (too much, to my thinking) to a single check for everything related. So, if you have Performance, you can sing, recite poetry, play every instrument ever created, and dance in every style known to sentient beings throughout the universe.

It was exactly what I thought it was. Performance has plenty of issues.

I hear they make a little blue [or pink] pill for that now... :P

I had a good chuckle by myself, naming the thread... ;)

Can you beat a hard DC?

Yes, but it's hard...

Shadow Lodge

Is this going to be like that one thread about grappling Succubi?

Nobody gets Performance issues while grappling a Succubus. That's kind of their shtick.
