Male D Fighter 1
Gunther follows Bjorn and Harold outside, checking the surroundings for anyone who might have seen Kendra leave to inquire which direction the girl left in. Not sure if house is out in sticks or in suburbs, if no neighboring houses or passersby, he'll wait by the road for the others, thinking the girl has just run off to town to begin an investigation

Gunther slides his plate towards Bjorn. "You may find the locals aren't too welcoming to orcbloods, Belkzen's just over them hills to the norwest."He looks towards the door Kendra just exited. "Maybe bringin' Ms. Lorrimar might not be a bad idea. Ghoroven and the Professor bein' friends and all."

(Earlier that day)The dwarf is plainly dressed in sturdy workclothes, old but well maintained. His dark brown hair is shorn close to his scalp and his beard is unadorned and shorter than you've seen on most dwarves. Upon arrival he mumbles greetings and condolenses to Ms. Lorrimar the invitation letter clutched in his mitts like a protective talisman, and awkwardly places a large pickaxe in the umbrella stand by the door. His granite colored eyes widen at the sight of two half-orcs (and one dressed fancier than a banker's wife), but he says nothing. He never puts his back to them either. He nods in greeting to the two humans but keeps a polite distance. He has seen the occasional crow-man on boats on the lake, so another animal headed being, while surely unusual, doesn't visibly upset him. At Ms. Lorrimar's request, a slight bow of his head and a gruff, "Of course," are his reply. At the funeral, upon the declaration of the mob, Gunther sets his stance, ready to take any spare weight of the coffin himself if the mob attacks. His jaw set in grim determination.
GM: Would Gunther's mother and sisters be searching for him, his father, and brothers? Do they know Gunther still lives? If not, how would they react if they found out?
Gunther's travels have taken him northward, away from Caiphas where his father and brother's traded. It is certain his remaining family would have an interest in finding what happened. As the dwarves (Biroc and sons) were fairly clannish (heh) they didn't make too many contacts with the locals, so depending on how hard they were searched for their trail goes cold in Caliphas. Milos, the Varisian business partner, acquired the mine deed through less than legal means, his partner in the local government actually stealing it and then fudging records to muddy the trail. Anyone that makes a connection between Milos and the dwarves could run afoul of the Sczarni. For his part, Gunther is still harboring great pain and guilt and dreads facing his family. His relationship with the Professor improved his feelings of self worth slightly, more positive acts might give him the strength to go home again. |
