A class feature joke. You slay me sir.
But seriously, I wish we could get more days of posting like this.

Unfortunately, Gunther sent me a PM to let me know he will no longer be able to participate. Sorry to lose him, but that's how PbP rolls sometimes.
I think the group is pretty solid with the remaining five characters, but if you want a sixth character, I'll be happy to recruit another one.
I will be writing Gunther's disappearance into the story. For now, he is still with you.

Bjorn Stonehand
That's a shame. It was stand up of him to speak up at least. Most people would just disappear without an explanation.
I'm good with five as well.

Sorry about my recent silence. My wife and I have been fighting a cold together, and we keep passing it back and forth. It was my turn this weekend so I spent most of it in bed. I hate chicken soup, for the record. I think steaks fight colds just fine.
Anyway, I'm feeling a bit better and should be back up to speed.

Fighter 2
+1 BAB
+1 Fort
+1 Intimidate rank
+1 Climb rank
+1 CMD vs Grapple
+1 CMD vs Trip
+Power Attack
Also gain Close Control.
At 2nd level, a brawler becomes skilled at forcefully moving his opponent around the battlefield. The brawler gains a +1 bonus on bull rush, drag, and reposition combat maneuver checks. The brawler also gains a +1 bonus to CMD when attacked with the bull rush, drag, and reposition maneuvers.
I'd prefer we use the PFS method for HP (average rounding up).

I'd rather not roll for HP, my dice choose the absolute worst times to betray me. Beyond that, I don't mind how we decide. (Assuming we do half HD + 1, for 1d8, is that 4+1 or 5+1? Because that, plus my favored class bonus and Con modifier should put me at 22 HP for the former or 23 HP for the latter.)

I will take half HD (d6) +1 as well, giving me +5 HP with Con bonus factored in.
Do we need to rest before we officially level-up? Or can we take advantage of the increases (minus the new spells) now?

The intent was for people to choose individually what they want to do for HP - I'm fine with any typical method. Some people love rolling, others like half+1, others like max-2, etc. Here's my standard - if I can figure out what you did without Excel, it's fine with me. :)
No need to rest for new HP, BAB, saves, etc. Rest as normal for new spells.

Ugh, sorry for my absence, completely lost track
That said, as Haldhin knows I'm actually not really enjoying Oliar and I'd like to retire him one way or another and bring in fresh blood (not really enjoying the character probably was part of the reason I lost track)
Just for an overview, we have a Monk, a Fighter, an Oracle and a Wizard?
BTW, what were creation rules again? Can't seem to find them.

Bjorn Stonehand
Bummer. Bjorn was just coming to terms with having a potential jadwiga-spawn around. =P
That party recap looks right.
Rules are here.
We really could use some roguery but ultimately you know what's fun for you.

I'm sure we can wiggle our way around some of the things we'd normally need a Rogue for, so long as you're enjoying yourself, man.
I had a campaign once where I realized I absolutely detested the character I had created (he was just so out of place in the campaign, but I couldn't know this until we were well into it) and it sapped a lot of the fun out of it. So just make a character that you enjoy and you'll be much happier for it.

Bjorn Stonehand
Definitely.
I was going to take a level of barbarian with Bjorn at 3 or 4 anyway. I could do ranger instead to pick up trapfinding and perception instead if needed.

How do you feel about firearms GM? I have an idea for a Trophy Hunter/Trapper ranger who (if you're ok with it) eventually takes the Shieldmarshal PrC (he arrives as a shieldmarshal in training and I understand if you rule he can't get 10th level or at least the 10th level feature) The basic idea is that he indeed come from Alkenstar in the Mana Wastes, which also explains his late arrival, and he has met the professor in Absalom. The professor and he basically talked for hours about life in the Mana Wastes, a place that no doubt had a great draw in the professor for it's mutagenic properties.
EDIT: If anyone else is against firearms and considers them a severe problem/immersion breaker/something else, please say so as well.

Bjorn Stonehand
I tend to think they're overpowered but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you'll not overwhelm the encounters so everyone gets time to participate.

At lower levels they indeed are strong, but that gets less the higher you go, especially when not playing an actual Gunslinger (especially the Musketmaster archetype) which I don't want.
What do know though is that on second thought I won't go ranger, as they don't actually get a battered gun (nor proficiency for that matter) and the cost of such a weapon is just ridiculous and I suspect availability in this AP would be almost nil unless I start with one or build one myself. So instead he'd either be a Cavalier using the Musketeer and Luring Cavalier archetypes or a Paladin with Holy Gun archetype.
As for race, I was thinking either a Human or Half-human, or a someone tainted by the mana wastes in the form of an Oread.

I really don't like firearms, but I'm pretty sure my dislike is hiding some unresolved issues I developed from running too many Living Arcanis tables. Those were some broken firearms.
But that aside, I'll go ahead and say "yes" for the Musketeer/Luring Cavalier build.
Human, half-, or oread are all fine.
