I would like to submit Eros Croy a pistolero gunslinger for your consideration.
Eros is a bit of a scoundrel and a part time Sczarni associate. His latest "business" ventures have gone poorly and he owes a tidy sum in gambling debts in Riddleport. He has come to Sandpoint hoping to change is fortunes by reeling in Murdermaw using his gunpowder to finish off the enormous boat sinking fish.
He's not much of a fisherman more of a glorified dock worker and ship hand but he figures he has the upper hand on other trophy fisherman because he thinks he's seen the beast snapper on a previous voyage. He's been in Sandpoint for a few weeks now and may have to take "honest" work soon as his coin pouch is getting dangerously low.

Pbp are the only way to play campaigns with kids. I can convince my wife to takes the kiddos for a couple of hours every now and again to play local society games but you never can expect to get that on a regular basis.

2 people marked this as a favorite.
This whole weekend of waiting has been seriously driving me to drink. I have been stressing my monster more then my kid during his little league games. (I wonder if that makes me a bad parent ;).)I keep thinking of ways I should have modified it. And then bashing my head into my computer desk while muttering "stupid, stupid, stupid".
Okay well not really but I can't wait for tomorrow at 2:00!

A lot of people don't like the name so I have been thinking of new ones. I thought I would throw a couple out and see what others like.
Leviathan Trumpet
Mariner's Lament
Carbine of the Depths

Thank you everyone for your congratulations and feedback! Now that my map has been submitted I can breathe and respond.
When I was writing the gun I went back and forth whether to add another power to it that would make it pop more. I was thinking something like a couple time of day force "fireball" that can only be used underwater but I eventually canned the idea and went simple.

Some wording and formatting issues. What happens if I use some of the hours of water breathing but not all? As written, it seems you need to use up the 12 hours, then keep it dry for 12 hours, or else it will just stick around with however many hours are left, so if you have just an hour or two left, you're obliged to have somebody go underwater to drain it out.
Yeah... I realized the recharge of the water breathing effect was unclear in the re-read after I sent it up (the one where you punish yourself over and over for how stupid you are). It should have read something like recharges only when placed in dry location for 12 hours. That way if you go for a 2 hour swim with a leviathan and then go heal up for a day or so you have the full 12 hours for further underwater exploration. Though I do relish the idea of having a minion (I mean hireling) sitting endless hours underwater for the time to pass.

Sent!!! Torag's beard that was stressful and I usually love making maps.
Oh and is the HP rolled or is it full at 1st then half for the rest?
Hit points are max at first level and then rolled from 2nd level on. Your sheet looks good! Do you have an image in mind?

can you tell me what issues you had with the voice client and has Skype been a better solution for you?
Sound quality was extremely poor even on my very expensive headset. It competed with the background music that is part of roll20. The main issue was that sound would fluctuate with 2 people talking at the same time the volume would drop so low you couldn't hear but if only 1 person was on the mic it was like they were screaming at you. Most of our problems occurred because the mic would pick up breathing or ambient background noise (ie dogs barking) and that would wash out the sound for whomever was speaking. We have not tried using Skype but we are considering it as I have heard good things and one of the players said it worked much better in a different campaign he was in.
Our group has unfortunately lost a member so we are looking to replace our fallen friend with one or two more players. We are not far into the game (still in the first book just after the swallowtail festival) so you haven't missed much. The group just turned level 2 so what we are looking for is a 2nd level character with an interesting history and back story that will be dropped into the game.
25 point buy, pathfinder society races (core races plus assmitar, tiefling, and tengu) 500 gold in equipment to start. All classes are open. Prospective characters should also include an image (or link to an image) to be used for the in game token.
Right now this game is text based conversation we may try Skype in the future but using Roll20 voice client wasn't a success. We play every other Tuesday from 12:30 PM pacific standard time until 4:30 PM. If you are interested make up a character and post in the board. If you already submitted a character and didn't get picked the first time around find you posting and add a note to let us know you are still interested!
After much reading, debate and deliberation I am pleased to say I have made my selections. I would like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to make a character for submission to this game. It was not easy choosing characters for the group as there were enough submitted to have 4 different parties and I would still have to cut people. So without further delay my selections for this game are:
Okay looks like we have 9 hours remaining. If you want to get into this game and you haven't submitted a post you have until midnight PST to do so. I already have 18 potential candidates so what is 19 or 20?
This goes for everybody...try not to feel limited by Paizo avatar choices. Because the game is being played on Roll20.net any image file type could work...
Jigen I did a quick google search for Tengu + artwork and came up with these in the first 50 results:
Marko... Alchemist with the mutagen class feature are fine just write a strong backstory of how you came upon the experimentation mutagens and the effects it has had on your characters life. Also don't forget to include how your character arrived in Sandpoint. I look forward to seeing your submission.
Not a problem. I like having a fresh new soul to crush... I mean teach. It will be a learning experience for everyone. Get your submissions in soon. I will make my decisions on Wednesday. All applicants before then will be accepted.
Mostly I will be running the adventure path. There will as always with these paths be side quest and opportunities for character development. But total random side quest I.e. trips to the mana waste to find a relative whose soul has been fused with a machine will be limited for the good of the order.
Unfortunately there is little wiggle room in time due to child care issues. Sorry.
1. So nothing from books not mentioned is legal correct? No Blood of Angels/Fiends, etc?
2. I've played a little bit of Rise of the Runelords, not even the entire first book, but I wanted to make sure that this is ok.
3. Will you be sending chronicles for the sanctioned parts upon completion of those parts?
1. Correct, just the stuff readily available in the PRD that is society legal.
2. That is fine, spend enough time on the website or in your local gaming store your going to know just as much as if you played partway through the first book anyway.
3. I can send the chronicle sheets out after the adventure but to be legal for PFS the group would need to be rolled back to 20 point buy not 25...
The last rays of the setting sun bathe burnt orange over the ocean and cast the last bits of late spring warmth on your face. The lost coast road finally emerging out of the tree line allows you to gaze upon your travels destination. With the light of the setting sun the Old Light has changed from a drab grey to a pinkish hue. The town of Sandpoint stands before you and is just a short distance away across the Sandpoint Bridge. The temperamental weather of the Varisian Gulf and some poor luck delayed you several days but at least you made it in one piece and now you’re so close you can smell the Hagfish greasy fish stews. Supper, a warm fire and a good night’s rest and you’ll be right as rain for the Swallowtail Festival tomorrow.
I’ll be running Rise of the Runelords anniversary edition adventure Path on the Roll20.net system. We will be using their sound interface but no web cams (slows down the interface too much besides I’d rather look at your PC’s then your ugly mugs!). It’s my first time using the system to GM a game and I am looking forward to it. The plan is to play every other Tuesday starting 05/21/13 from 12:30 PM-4:00 PST/PDT (That’s 7:30-11:00 GMT).
As a GM I try to be a narrator to the story you enact with your characters. I won’t force you down into the hole to push the story. You want to walk away from Sandpoint as the citizens get massacred by all means (Your actions should still match your alignment however). Not being your seeing-eye GM means that you need to be involved in your game. Remember you take the action and I describe the result. Want in?
Here is what I am looking for:
5 players max. Realize that if you’re selected for this bi-weekly game you should be as committed to it as you would be a pen and paper style at your friend’s house. It sucks having to fill in for people when they flake.
25 Point Buy
Level 1 with max hit points.
Average wealth for your class.
Content from the Core Rulebook, Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Combat, and Pathfinder Society races (Core Races + Aasimars, Tieflings, and Tengus).
Two traits (one should be from the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition Player's Guide). It’s free!
Backstory: This is the meat and potatoes of what I will be looking at when deciding who gets in and who misses out. Your backstory should not only contain why you’re in Sandpoint, but how you came into your adventuring profession (i.e. where did you learn your magical talents, a magic school, your parents, are you savant or somewhere else). Your backstory should also include a description of your character and a picture (or link to a picture) that you want to represent you in the game.
You have a little over a week. I will stop accepting entries on 05/15/13 at 2359 hours PST. I will let you know my decisions on 05/17/13. I will also be putting this thread up on the Roll20.net site. Good Luck!
I would like to submit Navlin Gaethdel for the role. She is fully equipped and ready to insert immediatly should you chose her. Her full background and stats are avialable here.
Defiantly interested...I'm thinking Order of the Paw Halfling Cavalier riding a black wolf. Probably in the death wind campaign thread, he’ll be protecting the remaining living against the undead hordes. BTW I like 15 point buy. It limits power gaming and increases the danger...
