"But the head is the bestest part!" Ezebelle states in mock sadness. "I suppose for the right sum I could give it up. Alright, we'll go find this person. Do you have any ideas or thoughts on where to look next for him?"

"Pray tell why not? Anyone giving away free bodies, and removing the less morally ambiguous parts of our trade seems like someone I should get to know." Ezebelle questions.

"Why do you say If you can call him that?" She adds, curious to odd way that was said.

Ezebelle follows behind Erik. Walking into a trap... Definitely a trap.

She takes a steadying breath and resumes her confident stature. "A visitor you say? With bodies as a gift? Curious. Though convenient. hmm, yes I may want to meet this visitor." Ezebelle contemplates.

"but first I have business with you. We were told you were the person to talk to about...procuring... the necessary materials for some of the darker magics of the world." She adds cryptically.

"You've clearly never been in the home of a wizard before then. You would have a difficult time even locating my real house, let alone trying to get inside it." Ezebelle adds with a scolding tone.

Ezebelle has constant Detect Magic on. Does she notices any auras?

"Well let's get this started..." Ezebelle whispers under her breath.

She tries to stand a little taller, boosting her "in-charge" attitude.

"Minion, I don't have all day. Get that door open." Ezebelle states rather loudly.

"I'm so sorry Maria" She whispers quickly afterwords.

"I don't like walking into traps. Go check." She adds loudly and with a slight wave of her hand to Goran and Ironfist after Maria has open the door.

Zen:
::Am I a horrible person for enjoying this?::

"Muwhaha, let us go visit this other necromancer." Ezebelle proclaims, taking on her perceived role.

::"I can do that"::

Ezebelle thinks for a moment, her skin paling, eye's taking on a reddish bloodshot look. Her lean muscles taking on a more desiccated look.

::How's this::

"Okay lets go meet this man." The sickly looking gnome states in a gravely voice, dead cackles accentuating her words. Using Ghost sound, to sound like well... ghosts.

Ezebelle returns with an defeated sigh. "Well I've got nothing. Apparently this person doesn't exist. Outside the obvious evidence in this room."

Ezebelle watches as Maria sorts pieces of the bodies.

Zen:
::Your suggestions I take it? Why would she be going through the limbs?::

"I'm worried we won't find him before he strikes again. Does anyone know of anywhere else that may be a similar setting in the area? Perhaps we could set up an ambush where he plans to strike next?"

Zen:

:: Okay I concede, this could make one heck of a story.::

A tear flows down Ezebelle's face as she communicates with Zen. "Okay! lets catch this horrible person. I'll help with trying to find out where this guy went." Ezebelle states, her size and stature changing to be more like that of the local populace. Going to abuse many forms here

Ezebelle follows Maria's lead out of the inn, and looks around for locals, shifitng slightly to be more personable to each person she asked.

I'm in way over my head here....

Ezebelle lets out a big sigh, as the apparition tell it's tale about the killer.

"None of that story bodes well for us." Ezebelle mutters silently to herself.

Zen:

::Is not chasing the half-giant with the magical sword an option? What have we gotten ourselves into here.::

Ezebelle's attention quickly wanes as the casting of the spell drags on... "Well this takes longer then I would like" she mutters to herself under her breath.

Bored, she pulls a small pearl from her pack, quirks her head and with a little nod upwards watches the pearl begin to float in front of her. A swipe of a finger and the pearl begins to glow with a dancing light. She watches it lazily fly through the air as Maria finishes her casting.

Not sure what else I can do with regards to the murders. I am SO far out of my depth.

Zen:

::I've exhausted my knowledge of a natural source. Maybe it was something created? A machine of some sort? or a Construct? I really don't have any experience with any of that stuff. So cold and metallic.:

Ezebelle starts looking around, maybe she could at least figure out where the murderer went.

I'm giving everyone a lot of slack because the game started on Thanksgiving Week. If it continues along this pace it will be an issue, but I understand family responsibility at this time takes precedence over posting.

Ezbelle throws up her hands in exhaustion as she runs out of ideas for a rorar. "Either these people have forgotten what the roar really sounded like, or it didn't come from a natural source"

Ezebelle quirks an eyebrow at Zen odd response to Maria. Is she putting on an act then? She seems emotional enough.

"Oooh risen spirits! That is so umm, horrible." She says as she sits down, fully captivated by the process.

Zen:

::and by Horrible I mean awesome. But this is way darker then any of the illusions I do. We sure she's on our side?::

"That I can do! Different roars coming up!" Ezebelle exclaims with a clap of excitement.

"show me to the witnesses."

Once at the witnesses Ezebelle is going to produce various roars to try and isolate what may have caused it. She has a quite extensive knowledge base so should be able to produce for most known creatures.

Ezebelle lets out a chuckle at seemingly nothing. "Oh gods, I'm sorry! That was a little inappropriate."

Zen:
::That was funny! He should have been happy for his new pottery status but NOOO, apparently he didn't actually like being a flower pot. Hypocrite I tell ya. See anything?::

Ezebelle scans the room from where she is, here eyes glazing slightly as if she is looking at something not directly infront of her.

Zen, Ezebelle is comfortable enough with you for you to actually keep mind-reading open (she does have SR, so when she isn't willingly keeping it suppressed it may block it), it also makes conversation between the two of you easier as she just thinks aloud at you most of the time.

Dot

Ezebelle shrugs her shoulder at zen's question.
::iunno::

Ezebelle casually walks over to the guards. "Lot of guards to be protecting an Inn... OOO is someone important in there? Maybe a prince. OH! or a princess. No wait. Does this place have any princes or princesses?" She asks staring at the small dragon sitting on her shoulder.

Not waiting on an answer Ezebelle turns back to the guards

"Can we meet them? I've always wanted to meet a princess. I think I would make a good princess. I would be like "I command all you slavers to disappear! and bam! gone! It would be pretty cool."

Hey! GM Cricket, because I'm specializing on Illusions I figured it's probably worthwhile to know how you handle them in advance so I know what I can and can't do with them.

I know it's a loaded question and I'm sure we can figure it out through gameplay but if you have any particular quirks or rules about illusions it would be beneficial to know in advance so that I can use them in a way that doesn't cause a suspension of belief in game when we have to discuss then how they work.

Backstory finished, so now it's just a waiting game for final decision. Ezebelle's backstory has been integrated fairly heavily with that of Lord Cornelius. Every magician needs a pseudodragon companion.

updated Ezebelle with new race, plus altered her focus to illusion, way to much fun to be had with illusions in a high powered campaign.

Another 20 days eh? Well looks like Ezebelle is going to get some serious time to flesh out. May look into creating a custom race with that much time involved.

Alright Ezebelle is updated with everything but backstory, hoping for a bit more campagin background before I write it. REgardless it should be done by tomorrow or wednesday at the latest.

blondebandits submission.

Arcansist 7 (White Mage)/Bard 7 (Magician) // Archmage 3

Still need to develop spellbook, skills, equipment, and backstory but the current crunch should give an idea about the general path I plan to take and gets my submission at least started, everything should be finished by tomorrow at some point.

As much as I hate too, my life is getting extremely busy atm, and I'm not sure I'll be able to handle another game. Going to have to bow out of this one. Thank you for the consideration and best of luck to everyone else!

Here is Ezebelle's fluff and background! also available with her profile.

Background:

Five background and concept elements important to Ezebelle Thesun.
1) Ezebelle grew up along the Naphital River with her father. Her mother died during childbirth with her. He raised her in a little cabin within Regyn Forest, isolated from the urban developments. Most of her days were spent on the river or near the Lisaris Ocean and Ezebelle is extremely comfortable around the water.
2) Ezebelle met Uhuru when he was still a kitten. She discovered him trapped in a hunter’s snare near the river’s edge. Releasing the majestic creature, Ezebelle noticed that the snare had caused significant damage and decided to help nurse the animal back to health. They have been inseparable since.
3) Her first realization that Amerys was perhaps different than the rest of the world was when she was out fishing on the Lisaris Ocean. She was casually watching as an Isteroth vessel sailed in the distance. She was shocked when she saw the man dive over the side, preferring the risk of the ocean then life in the mines. Her father had always been forthright with her and began explaining the idea of slaves to Ezebelle. The idea that some people weren’t free shocked and angered her.
4) As Ezebelle grew up she couldn’t get over the idea that some people couldn’t choose for themselves. She decided that she had to do something to fix this, so she headed to Alisar to learn how to help. There she entered one of the battle academies and began refining her fighting skills. She quickly took to sword and shield, and very rapidly rose through the ranks of her classmates.
5) After her time at the academy, Ezebelle again returned home, using her knowledge of the local landscape, and of the river, to stage boardings of Isteroth vessel’s heading into the mainland and the capital.
Two goals that are important to Ezebelle.
1) The abolishment of all slavery. Everyone should be free to live their own lives as they see fit in her eyes.
2) The protection of those she cares about. The realization that slaves existed also brought home the idea that others could try and impart their choices on you. She valiantly defends any of her friends.
Two secrets about Ezebelle, one that she knows, and one that she not yet aware of.
1) Ezebelle is uncomfortable in large social groups. She grew up isolated from the bustle of the city and still doesn’t quite feel she has a grasp of proper social interactions.
2) Ezebelle’s father is an escaped slave. Part of the reason for her growing up in the forest is his fear that his Isteroth master would notice him in the city and attempt to reclaim his property. This also means that technically Ezebelle is not a citizen of Amerys.
Four people that are tied to Ezebelle, three are friends and one is an enemy.
1) Gregory Thesun – Ezebelle’s father. Kind, gentle, and extremely reclusive
2) Harmin Yor – A classmate of Ezebelle’s that she grew to be friends with at the academy. Their lives have gone in separate ways but she still fondly recalls her memories of him
3) Uhuru – Ezebelle’s Companion. Ezebelle has watched and been with Uhuru since she was a kitten. The jaguar is extremely comfortable in the water, and has a very social playful quirk to its personality. Having had such a close connection with Ezebelle for so long the cat is very comfortable around people but also extremely protective of Ezebelle
4) Typhus Riskei: The Isteroth master of her father. The escape of Gregory has always sat poorly on him, as if a man can’t keep hold of his belongings then what good is he? Would revel at the chance to bring the slave back into the fold, and exact the necessary punishment on it for disobeying him.
Three memories, mannerisms or quirks Ezebelle possess.
1) Ezebelle treats Uhuru as if she were human. She holds many one sided conversations with the large cat, it’s her way of working through problems.
2) Ezebelle is more comfortable when she can feel or smell water. Being deep in the mainland or in deserts makes her uncomfortable, and she slowly will get nervous about seeing so far from the water.
3) Ezebelle prefers to charge into combat when she is within a group. If she can get the enemies focusing on her, then they likely aren’t focusing on others.
Role
Ezebelle is a front line fighter/tank. She rushes into melee using Chameleon step and bashes with both her scimitar and shield. She is also proficient with her bow and greatsword if she feels that the more defensive stance of sword and shield is not in her best interest. She and Uhuru over many years have learned how to flank the enemy, with Uhuru attempting to overrun and trip the enemy before Ezebelle get there to finish them off quickly.

Rolling HP:

Lvl 1: 10
Lvl 2-8 1: 7d10 ⇒ (5, 10, 2, 8, 6, 4, 7) = 42
lvl 2-8 2: 7d10 ⇒ (10, 9, 8, 10, 5, 2, 2) = 46

HP = 10+46+24 = 80

Okay blondebandit's submission of Ezebelle Thesun Ranger 8 (Skirmisher)! Mentioned it was a low-magic campaign so skirmisher seemed like a perfect fit.

Still need to write the backstory/fluff, but the crunch is mostly complete (Haven't gone through the process of buying all my mundane items, yet. Should be done with my background later tonight or early tomorrow).

Not needing to be told twice, a mischievous grin come to her face as she swings haphazardly at the door.

"Had to be magic, or ghosts, or something weird..." Ezebelle cries totally at a loss when it comes to magic.

"Well maybe it just needs some more force. I wonder if my axe will have a better time of going through the door..." Ezebelle contemplates reaching for the large axe on her back.

"We'll get through that door." Ezebelle proclaims.

She walks over to the door, reaches to try the handle, decides against actually trying it, gazes around, and then lays a hard kick directly beside the handle, trying to burst the door open with her foot.

Ezebelle smiles at the mention of the budged door Might get to use my axe yet.

Ezebelle follows quickly behind Cassiel into the house.

Fine! No greataxe. But if her family is being attack by skeletons or zombies or some other creepy thing there will be a serious I told you so coming." Ezebelle states, re-sheathing her greataxe on her back.

"If we're going to go on the blame the ghostie's route, maybe the v was the start of something. Perhaps you've seen or read mention of something v worthy. Victoria? Vicious? Vampire maybe? Maybe one of their names? If someone is trying to raise something I imagine a name is important...Seems the necromancers have some grand goal that isn't just raising a bunch of zombies, else this town would already be overrun." Ezebelle adds in contemplation.

"And I agree we should look around the rest of the town. Leave Gibs protected behind those bars." Ezebelle agrees with a nod, and starts heading off towards town.

Now to find something suspicious looking.

"So what your saying is he is weak willed, and still guilty?" Ezebelle replies.

"Well I feel a good deed done. Gibs doesnt have to be worried about doing something stupid out of his control, and we don't have to worry about any more senseless slaughter of innocent creatures."

"I vote we leave him here, maybe warn the sheriff, and then see what else we can learn from this town. If he truly doesn't know he is being controlled then he's rather useless to us." Ezebelle contemplates.

Bah, all my colleagues, so quick to assume innocence. It's not like anyone has ever lied about doing a crime before...

Ezebelle shakes her head at her companions and their attempts to make the criminals stay more hospitable.

I'm with everyone above. It's slower then some of my other campaigns but it's not necessarily a bad thing at all. Especially during the slower "Lets find everything out phase"

Checking in. But not alot to add to the conversation at the moment.

Ezebelle glares around at the jail and its casual attitude, clearly not happy with its design.
