Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Sorry for my complete lack of posting, and I'm indeed going to have to step out of the campaign.
Right now life has presented a whole slew unwelcome distractions (much in the department of mental health) and unfortunately this is always falling into the background among all that noise.
As for writing Gorim out, I suspect the Horsemaster may be a logical way for him to wander (or perhaps he could simply wander into something SHARP, ahah, we did just upset Ms Drow after all).
Anyway, apologies it's taken me this long, it'd defo be super unfair to continue playing any longer.
Thanks for the adventure so far! I'll be lurking occasionally to see how the story progresses, I think.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Aye, some tea would do me wonders" says the Dwarf.
Once the girl had left, Gorim concurs with Gwath's statement: "Mmhmm, once our bellies are filled, let's get somewhere a tad more quiet then, eh?" He tucks into a fried egg, "...get a little more perspective on this whole thing."
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
With no drink to raise, Gorim momentarily throws a fist into the air.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"A few fried eggs and bread, thanks," replies Gorim, his head bobbing slightly to the fiddler's tune, "Oh, and some cranberry juice if you've got the stuff."
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Oh, yes," grins the Dwarf, his eyes focused on the fiddler. "Whatcha you got in mind, Henry?"
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim nods in agreement, "Some rest sounds solid. Not to mention some grub in our bellies. This scale is gonna pull quite the attention and we'd best be ready".
I'm ready to leave.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Hey, I'll be posting when back home tonight.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"I could do with a good meal" grins Gorim.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim fiddles with the beads that adorn his beard while staring at the deceased Drow. His thoughts soon drift back to the voices in the room.
"Aye... Her dying words spoke of Sheog and how she'll pay in gems. She waits in the Spindlewood."
The Dwarf pauses to collect the ciphered scroll.
"Quick, should we return to the Temple now, we can only expect routine attack..."
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Thank the Gods it wasn't a teleportation, eh?" says Gorim while sifting through some items.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
"The Drow mentioned The Scale in her deep tongue. It has gotta be here somewhere" he says to the young orc in a near whisper.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 NOPE
"Where'd she-!?" Gorim shuts up, listening keenly for any movement not belonging to his allies.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 ...nope?
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
I'm incredibly sorry! I've been trying to sort a bunch of life things/goals, and unfortunately this and a few other things have clearly been slipping... I do feel bad about my irregular posting here - I really don't want to diminish anyone's experience.
I'll get considering too.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim dashes around the corner, joining Gwath.
"Come on, open up!"
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Sorry about that! Gorim holds his position for the time being.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim tightens his grip, eager to sprint around the corner, but holds his position.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim grabs his axe, and continues to wait for city watch to lead the action. His attention to on on-goings around the corner is punctuation by glances toward the two homeless individuals wielding rocks.
The nods a NO at them from his end of the corridor.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim noticed the others approaching outside and didn't go ahead with a purchase. Perhaps later I'll have words with Henry about an allowance and buying a Nice Hat.
Gorim joins the others outside, and soon after follows Henry's orders, taking the alley on the right. He takes his holy symbol into his hand.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Ah, Prestor! Not a better rider than him!" grins the dwarf. "It's certainly quite the item.... perhaps a bit out of my price range, by the sounds of it..." he says, patting his near empty pockets.
"How about that wide brims you mention?"
Gorim will likely buy a hat. Other than that, this dwarf is also ready for some thief grabban
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Master Dwarf?" the priest chuckles, "Gorim's just fine, thanks", he says while leaning closer to inspect the cased items.
"This leather headband's quite nice. What's its story?"
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
"No thanks. Been sleepin' just fine".
"Quick, I'm gonna wait for Halda up front, comin'?
If the dodgy overcoat salesman has nothing further to say, Gorim will move to the front of the store.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Aye, alert the guards for sure, but let's take point", agrees the Dwarf, fiddling with his beard in thought.
"And I'd indeed be keen to see these magic items of Halga's."
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Yup!
I've moved Gorim to join his squad at the back end.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim swings the hemp rope over his shoulder and thanks the vendor once more. He scans the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 I'm gonna go ahead and guess Gorim is a little ignorant of the whole Guards vs Begger thing right now...
'Best get to position...'
He begins to sprint toward the alleyways to regroup.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim approaches the first of the pushing cart vendors to purchase some rope. Convenient.
Are the items at a standard price?
I'll be working my way up the alley to join Gwath and Quick shortly. For now there's a set of eyes at the front of the shop. A group of armed folk heading into the alleys and loitering may be a bit suspicious!
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Noticing the swarm clinging to their backs, Gorim turns to the group.
"Gents, your help is much appreciated, though due to the nature of our work, we'd best approach in fewer numbers - just the one or two of you."
"I'll be by later with a thank you, or send something your way should we have to up and leave quickly".
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
sorry to hear that dude :(
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Hah, I love these guys!
"Fellas..." opens the Dwarf, stepping forward, "let's not jump to anything just yet".
He ponders for a moment, trying to get a better read on them. They remind him of his youth. Days in Thalaniel when his family finally settled down. He used to always do his best to avoid these types, unlike his brothers.
"We suffered the attacks at Elam, too", he states, "...and lost a friend. These men here saved my life".
"Half-Orc or otherwise, we were all hunted just the same".
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Alley!
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Aye, that was smooth, Henry", grins Gorim, moments after passing the gate.
He takes a couple of steps forward before halting in place as a look of fear passes over his face.
"It's gone"
He grabs his wrist in disbelief.
"My hand of Irori, how'd it- where'd it... OH."
"Oh, yes."
He pats the holy symbol that now hangs around his neck in relief.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
For a google hangout game, I'm on a different timezone (GMT), but I'm usually free in the week so hopefully this can still work.
I believe I'm 8 hours ahead of PST, but I don't mind playing late if needed. Particularly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim nods at the request and begins to unravel the holy symbol from his wrist, pausing for a moment. He can't quite remember the last time it wasn't there.
He snaps back to it and places it around his neck, "There we go".
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Knowledge: Local: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Gorim approaches the ruin.
"Fascinating," he utters, crouching for a closer look, "But I'm sorry to say, I have no clue..."
This is gonna bug me...
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"Ah yes... there's always that..." responds the Dwarf, "If you were to choose to try glimpse back, Quick, we'd have to certainly exercise caution. The mind is powerful, and often buries things for good reason - though it could just as well be the doing of a spell. Tricky, really."
The Dwarf continues his pace, his eyes on the lookout for any hint of Redstone in the distance.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim nods at the mercenaries orders and keeps up his pace.
"He means good, Henry, though his approach at time is a little... rough..."
"That back there... about the memory. I don't mean to pry, but perhaps mediation could help? It'd take time, but with persistence I believe we could unlock your memories."
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"That's gotta be her..." mutters the priest to Henry.
"Gorim's my name. Gorim Coppervein. My family settled in Thanleniel, though I spend most my time travelin'".
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim allows the soldiers'search, handing over the bag.
"Should we end up staying there a night, I'd be keen to seek out your horsemaster. It'd be good to train with another devout to Irori"
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim approaches alongside Henry, nodding at the men as he does so, "Mornin'"
He straightens his beard then allows his hands to rest on his belt as he awaits to follow Henry's lead.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Gorim gladly woulda spent his Comprehend Languages!
Gorim chuckles to himself at the Mercenary's story. They always have this little twist it the end, always an invasion or some such. They always speak strongly of experience too, and so the Dwarf follows the order, slowly walking backwards from the sound of rapidly approaching hooves and muscle. He grabs his holy symbol, leaving his axe sheathed.
"Aaany second now..."
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Spells selected, not much difference today.
"That sound... horses, it's gotta be!"
The Dwarf looks toward the hilltop, expectant of their arrival.
"Just one thing after another, eh?"
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
"I'll take the final watch", states Gorim as he settles down on his bedroll. He takes some time to read various pages from the books he collected at the temple before finally giving in to sleep.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
I'm sticking with searching for a campsite. It's been a loooong day, and it'll be nice for the us spellcasters to have some mojo back should we encounter anything later on ;)
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
I'm happy to try and push it, but my vote goes toward finding a camp for the night and setting out early. Travelling by night with a light makes me think we'll potentially stand out a bit too much and lose any element of surprise we may have over the Drow.
...though of course it'd mean she could make more distance.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Concentration Check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Ah, my bad! Thanks for this. I'll go ahead and do the concentration check.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
The Cleric's focus immediatly shifts from the boar to the injured privateer, "Just a second!"
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Substituting my Obscuring Mist for the above healing spell.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
The Priest steps up to the boar, bringing down the weight of his axe.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Following Gwath's lead, the cleric approaches the beast - his axe at the ready.
Male Dwarf Cleric 2
Knowledge: Nature:: 1d20 ⇒ 2
The Dwarf wanders around patiently, careful to not disturb any of the ground he treads and has no luck spotting the tracks.
