Does it look as if there's a way to go underneath the apparatus and "monkeybar" the platform?
Garridan ponders reaching for the door handle, but then pauses. 'Best to wait for Talas. He'll never stop chiding me if I get zapped or knocked into the water due to my impatience. Speaking of...where is he?' He glances back towards the water, looking for his friend and alarming the others to what he located. "Everyone, we've got a trapped doorway up here! Talas, your skills are required!"
Ideally Garridan looks to get through the obstacle course methodically. He is in no rush to blow through the obstacles. If going slower gives him a better chance of success, then he will choose the slower option. Doesn't matter how fast you can clear the course, if you cannot get through the course lol.
I'm all for that, DH! I think that would help keep things moving along smoothly.
Garridan pulls himself onto the next platform and starts getting to his feet to a better look of the next series of obstacles. "C'mon folks, you can do this! We survived the Abyss!"
Garridan heads over to the rope and examines it briefly for a moment. He then prones out in front of the rope and begins to slowly pull himself onto the top of the rope. He hooks one foot around the rope itself and lowers his other leg downward as a balance-point. He then begins to pull himself forward along the rope!
Garridan chuckles a little at the futility of walking across the rope. "Sometimes the tortoise finishes the race before the hare. A snail's pace is better than none at all, Talas."
Garridan winces and nods to his friend when he suddenly moves to scoop up the ball... "Just don't knock me over as well!" he adds playfully to his friend.
Garridan will also grab hold of Eythil and assist in pulling him up the wall!
Garridan reaches down to aid Eythil up the wall once in position.
Garridan will maintain his position and continue working to help everyone up the wall.
Garridan helps pull Ariela up the wall. "Of course! This is all about teamwork I am guessing. Keep moving forward through the course, I will assist the others up the wall. Perhaps you can scout out the next obstacle."
Garridan looks up at the wall for a moment, then makes a great leap to grab hold of the top of the wall! He quickly pulls himself upward onto the platform, then spins around and lays flat on his stomach with his arms reaching down toward Ariela. "Try again, this time reach for my hands. I will try to grab you and help pull you up!"
Given how quickly Talas lost his balance, and how easily Garridan almost lost his, he decided to take it slower this time around to gauge the feel of these strange, floating platforms.
He nearly loses his balance a few times, but is able to make it a little further along towards the next obstacle!
I know I've had a rather crazy week with my injured back and the past few days at work have just been nuts. For instance, tonight we had a stabbing within the last two hours of shift. I've got a trunk full of evidence to process tomorrow and a big long report to write while working on a Saturday night... at minimum staffing... I will hopefully get back on track here Sunday or Monday.
Garridan is likewise caught off-guard and stumbles behind any other that catch on before him. He spots the wall and realizes this will likely be an easy obstacle for him. "Talas has a good idea. One of us should remain at the bottom to help boost others up. This will likely be a simple jump for me, so I will remain below to help boost."
LOL. I thought it was funny!
Garridan frowned. "Is this more of an obstacle course then? Or is this similar to the others where we are divided into two teams and sent against each other?"
Garridan breathes heavily as the scenario wraps up. "Quite exciting! Though such a strange battlefield to be sure. It was helpful for me, though at times it was also a bad field for such close range weapons as mine."
Seeing Vance rush past Ariela, Garridan decides to bide his time on the monk and focus his attention on Eythil and sends a boomerang flying towards the strange fellow!
Garridan moves a little to intercept Vance when he spots the man rush towards the far edge of the field. "Ariela, may need a little assistance on this one. He was able to easily knock down one of my boomerangs before."
Garridan nods and moves forward a little to keep a relatively close distance to his companions, well maintaining defense upon their ball.
Garridan looked around at the gear presented and shrugged. "There is not much here for me that would be helpful beyond carrying as much weapons as possible. Armor restricts my ability to throw and slows me down more than it would help."
Garridan nods as he listens to the others explain their observations. "I definitely could stand to do a little more teamwork. Before coming here the only other person I have worked with together was Talas and over the years we knew what the other was going to do without words being spoken." He shrugs. "I do realize that my biggest down-fall in a fight is my limitation to my skill at throwing weapons." He pats Talas on the back. "When it came to talking, I always let him handle that." "Having the 'traps' in the field definitely made things much more interesting than what I was expecting." he added ruefully.
Garridan keeps a very close watch on Talas and Vance, prepared to strike either of the two men down should they decide getting to their feet is a good idea... GM Only:

Garridan chuckles at his friend. "I know. You almost had me fooled there for a moment too."
Garridan smirks as he spots Talas shifting around, trying very hard to play possum and not being entirely successful. He was tempted to let his boomerang fly right that moment, but he paused... "Stay down, Talas. I'd rather not have to knock you back unconscious if I don't have to."
Garridan listened intently to the discourse on deities, clearly intrigued with Prime's philosophical perspective. He had never thought about the gods in such a way before. They simply were and most folks found one that fit their ideals and venerated them.... "Quite." he added to Ariela's comment.
Garridan will prep two of his boomerangs and ready an attack to hit the first opponent to get off the ground...
"Well, as far as I know, there's never been a citizen who didn't want to join any house. What are your concerns?" "Let's just say I haven't been particularly impressed by what I've seen thus far." he stated. While the Solars seemed responsible and meant well, there was something about breeding houses that set him ill-at-ease. And then... "An undead woman to raise a living baby?!?! What sort of maniac would think of such a thing?"
"That is... odd..." Whether Garridan is replying to Prime or Thedra or both is not entirely clear. "This may have already been answer, Thedra, but all this is just so overwhelming. Just to clarify, to be a citizen of Arch you aren't required to join one of these Houses, right?"
Garridan turns around within the mass of webbing and whips another boomerang from his belt to send it flying after Vance; however.....
Garridan wasted no time in taking a step away from Vance's reach and then snatching his prized boomerang from his belt and send it spinning quickly towards the large Vance! In the blink of an eye he snatched a second one and sent it spinning behind his own darkwood boomerang. Both of the weapons cracked into Vance with brutal effect and knocked the large man to the ground, unconscious...
Garridan enjoyed the beauty of Shepherd Manor; however, seeing all the children running about made him wonder what their motive is for having so many children. After hearing their thoughts on mind control and reading of thoughts, he clearly had disdain for the Shepherds... The strange creatures about fascinated him though and he found himself staring openly at the strange snake-like woman and her beautiful coloring.
Garridan rushes forward with his teammates to keep close eye on them...
Garridan frowned as he listened to the description of the Shepherds. "I do not think I would get along well with any of them. Everyone has a right to their own secrets. To think that the "greater good" justifies them entering someone's mind without their consent." He shakes his head. "No. If they try that with me, they may find they are holding a viper in one hand."
Garridan wasn't sure he could have been more surprised by the things he had seen in this city, but it just kept coming! When they met the golem, Prime, he could do no more than simply smile and listen into the conversation. He then jumped into the wagon quietly and prepared to absorb more of this strange and awe-inspiring place.
Garridan rushes forward to a better position on the field and prepares to attack the first opponent that moves into range.
Garridan nodded his agreement. "I never thought I would see such... Opulence? Is that the right word?" he glanced to Talas. While Garridan was of average intelligence, he grew up in the wilderness of Varisia and survival was more important than an expansive vocabulary... Though he had heard that word used a few times in his travels.
