Not unlike Lawric, Galimus is already mentally calculating a number of things. How long it would take to barricade this place. How long it would take to strip this place and barricade the other. How long their food is going to hold out. Which one of his companions to suggest they eat first when the food runs out. How long that food will last...

"We should pick that place, soon," Galimus says. "It should be this one or the last one. If we wander and explore too long, we won't be able to fortify any place in time."

He is curious about the remaining occupant of this building. Who could have survived and how? Or was one of the assailants trapped an unable to escape.

"Hello? I someone back there? Can you hear me? Can you speak?" he calls out from the edge of the barricade.

Society: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Galimus examines the scene but his focus is largely on what succeeded, what failed and what can be salvaged when it comes to the defenses the people here put up.

It is becoming ever more evident that he and his companions are going to have to do something similar and while, with the right spells, the dead can speak, with the right attention to detail they can tell you much more.

He tests the remaining barricades to see if they can be removed and repurposed for the site they've chosen to be their base of operations.

But his attention lands on the unopened door when Lawric calls it out.

"One way to find out," he comments, though he makes no move to be the first to open the door.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

"'Organ?'" Galimus questions, misreading the cat's name.

"Should we not try to barricade what we can before finding more supplies to barricade what we can't, yet?" he asks, though he follows the two Pharasmin devotees.

If they're going to leave shelter before nightfall, he wants to do it quickly so that they can be back.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

Galimus pays little mind to the cat. While he respects a survivor, it likely has little to do with their investigation and is probably not a threat.

"I agree. This will be a good place to serve as a base camp. We should spend some time further fortifying it before continuing our explorations. I suggest we pick a single door and barricade the other one. Likewise, we should block the windows. It will be easier to defend the place if there's only one way in or out."

He is not nearly as squeamish about claiming the items of the likely dead as the others and will claim one of the pints of oil, a torch, an alchemist fire, and the antiplague elixir.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

Galimus looks at the chest ruefully and gives it an irritated kick. But, he's not brutish enough to try to smash it open with his weapon. He looks around at the others, hopefully, wondering if none of them is as curious (or covetous) as he is.

With a sigh, he follows Thurgan. "Yes, let's see what else this town has to show us," he says, casting a final glance at the hidden treasure.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

"Surely there's something worthwhile in there. People don't lock up junk," Galimus says.

He kneels next to the chest and begins fiddling with the lock.

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Well, I'll just go right ahead and Hero Point that...

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Not that it matters...

With a rather creative curse, Galimus gives up. "The stupid lock is jammed," he says. Which is a fact. The fact he does not point out is that it was not jammed before he started.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

Though he doesn't know why, Galimus knows a little bit about a lot. Sometimes knowledge and memories just drift up unbidden from depths of his subconsciousness that he doesn't even know about.

Crafting (Untrained Improvisation): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

"It has been at least a week since this bottle was opened. At least, that's how long it takes for red wine to turn to vinegar."

His eyes alight and light up as he sees both the obviously valuable dagger and the symbol of Sarenrae.

"Will you be struck down or plagued with curses if you carry this?" he asks Lawric and Thurgan as he picks up the holy symbol.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

"Well, we shouldn't just leave it hanging here, should we? There's no telling what sort of unscrupulous scoundrels might come along and lay claim to it," Galimus says and dons the mantel before following Thurgan toward the next room.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

Galimus takes the time to search through the servants' belongings, but they are all of poor shabby materials so he leaves them all behind.

"Yes. The main house is the next most logical place to look," he says. He has little intention of scampering around like a monkey (unless the situation is dire) so he intends to enter via one of the doors to the building. Maybe a first floor window, if it makes sense.

The Spirit trait doesn't automatically make something incorporeal. They're just usually associated with each other.

Whether or not your familiar is incorporeal would be a GM ruling, I think.

But, it still might make a good scout since it can fly and talk.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

Galimus likes Thurgan. The man thinks like he does. Better to get the small building out of the way before committing to searching the larger space.

He also raises his shield, though his is made out of a weaving of solidified occult energy rather than steel and leather, and follows the champion.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

Despite himself, Galimus is pleased by the faint praise given by Lawric. Strange though the little fellow is, he is compelling.

He hurries along as the rain makes the pass treacherous. He has been through too much (and more than he knows) to get buried in a mudslide. Yet, he looks back with some chagrin as it becomes evident that they won't be able to leave any time soon.

"Well...I guess our decision has been made for us," he comments to no one in particular.

"I agree with Thurgan. I don't think anyone is left to hide anywhere, and if they are they've been hiding there long enough that a little more time won't matter. And I don't like the idea of passing a place that might be full of threats that can come at us from behind."

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

Galimus stares at them both blankly. Then blinks a few times. He slowly pulls the tooth out of the pocket that he'd placed it in. He examines it for several seconds then shrugs and puts it into Thurgan's palm and moves around to examine the scene without comment.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

"Ho, ho, what's this?" Galimus says, picking up the tooth. He holds it up to his face, ostensibly to examine it, but for a moment it seems like he is contemplating trying it out for size in his own mouth.

"Maybe the cockroaches didn't kill the cow. Maybe it was whoever this belonged to. Or maybe whoever killed the cow also knocked this tooth loose. Which would mean that we're looking for someone missing a tooth, living or dead."

He pauses to contemplate. "Hmmm...for that matter, maybe it came from an undead, either a victim or an attacker. This clue creates more questions than answers, I fear."

He continues to look around but also pockets the tooth. After all, one never knows when one will need a replacement.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

It, perhaps, says something about Galimus and his personality that the grotesque display they discover in one of the rooms of the house does not disturb him.

He simply squats next to the dead cow, brushing away some of the cockroaches so that he can examine it more closely.

Medicine: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

"Strange. I've never seen a cow killed by cockroaches before," he comments after his examination. "I would not have expected them to be able to crush its skull."

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

As a member of the newly reformed Order of the Starless Night, Galimus considers it his duty to not only keep Tchekuth from awakening but also to use his knowledge and abilities to quell other existential threats to his reality.

The Gravelands in all its many forms and names has contained one such threat for quite some time.

So, he has come to investigate and do what he can.

It does not hurt that death and undeath are particular areas of interest for him.

"I know of few situations that are not easier to deal with after getting additional knowledge. This structure seems different than the ones that we have passed, so far. I believe it is to our benefit to explore why," he comments, still in his stilted, halting method.

Galimus wanders the shelves near where Councilwoman Agrit speaks, scanning them for things of interest. He picks up a bottle and reads it thoughtfully.

He almost drops it at Lawric's abrupt and loud proclamation.

Of average height and build, wearing simple studded leather armor and carrying a longspear, he would be mistaken for a nondescript adventurer were it not for a few...oddities.

Most prominent are the subtle scars on his face and neck, normally not a thing of note for adventurers but in Galimus' case they seem to form patchwork borders, the flesh on one side of one of those suture scars not quite the same shade as on the other. The way those scars descend down into the collar of his leather jacket suggest that they may cover his body.

His hair also seems to have slightly different colors and his eyes are notably two shades of brown, one warm and light, the other dark and ominous.

Though it does not hinder his speed, his gait is strange as though he favors one leg prominently over the other.

He eyes the Pharasmins with trepidation and notably keeps his distance from them.

"A dangerous place to live," he comments. "The dead are restless there and other unholy things stalk the land."

His words come in fits and starts as though he's remembering the words as he speaks them.

I need to update him to remaster, but I'll get started on it. I don't think it will take me too long.

Perc +5 |Low Light Vision, Darkvision | 25 feet | Spell DC 19 | Active Conditions: none Fleshwarp (Created) Oracle (Ancestors) 3rd HP 37/37 | AC: 19 | F +6 R +7 W +7

I could also dust off (and remaster) this guy. My Fleshforged Ancestor Oracle whose ancestors are (probably) the people who went into making up his body.

And because I am bad at making decisions, I think I'm going to wait until everyone else has locked in and fill in any missing roles.

Looks like we have a frontliner and a healer. I think animists are...blasters?

I know this was a really good game because I'm a little sad it's over.

Thanks for a great ride, Soup!

And thanks to all the players for the great characters and stories.

Galimus stays, as well, if only so that he can talk to the brain clock. He spends much of his time researching in the mi-go's lair, trying to determine exactly how he came to be as he was and how he might change. Even if he wanted to change.

Of course, you can't set up house within site of the prison of an eldritch horror without thinking about it so he also sticks around to make sure that Tchekuth never awakens.

It is almost a surprise to him when he realizes that he is a member of the newly reformed Order of the Starless Night.

He notices Zoi's absence at some point, but simply assumes the enigmatic man went about his business and followed his quest elsewhere without saying goodbye.

Musgal watches in fascination, first Zoi approaching the creature then, the tengu kissing her. He's never seen a tengu kiss anything.

As Zoi collapses, he snaps out of his reverie and jumps into action.

He begins by throwing fire at her with his magic and shielding himself from her the same way.

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 3

He keeps it up, switching to electricity to try to maximize his damage.

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 3

He then gives Lazlo some guidance while switching back to fire.

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 2

"Oy, I don't see what you see in her, my fine feathered friend. I likes mine with a little more meat on the bone," Limus chimes in, trying to frighten her off by waving his morning star at her.

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 3

"So crass..." Musgal says with a sigh before returning to his spellcraft.

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Galius finds himself with his morning star in hand and moves in to bash the skeletal lady with it.

*gasp and shock* I cannot believe that you forgot who I was!

I've really enjoyed this adventure and the way you've run it so I'd love to continue with another adventure.

I don't have any opinion about which one to play and, it turns out, I haven't played any Season 4 stuff, so I'd be up for any of them.

"Yes, well, no doubt you're right about that, old chap, but does it have to be done now? Can it wait until we've finished dealing with the other threats and gotten to the bottom of these mysteries?" Musgal replies.

Limus proves largely useless in the battle, trying to demoralize the creature.

But Musgal identifies the creature then hits it with some positive energy.

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 3

He then telekinetically flings some debris at it while keeping a mystic shield between them.

Galius draws his morning star and rushes in to break some bones.

"I need my shield, Sir! How can you expect a man to fight with no protection!" he calls out to Fundin.

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Limus then immediately flees. "Oy! Why do you keep tryin' to get me killed you posh nob!"

Ancestor: 1d4 ⇒ 3

But Musgal once more hurls debris and protects himself as they take the creature down.

"I say, fellows. Why are we wading around in the muck down here when we could be getting to the bottom of these mysteries by speaking to the brain in the clock?" he says in the aftermath of the battle.

Now, though, I don't feel the need to put them down. We can handwave all that.

Will: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

But his inability to focus only hinders him.
