@Delyliath - Broken PC is never fun. I hope you didn't lose anything precious from the hard drive ...
@GM - Not that it mattered, the poor creature was targeted by Ill Omen too, so it should have rolled twice on the fortitude save and taken the worst one : )
My bad sorry about that
Will remember that in the next tussle coming up a post or three more down
Fellian is able to deliver the touch attack spell with little issue at all. The Ogre Snail Mashup is easy enough to attack and swoop away from.
Fort Save for next Round (Evil Spell I like it) is Save vs DC19:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Then after Delyliath makes her attack takes it all up to a higher point
So at the end of this portion Monster Total Damage Taken is 110 and it collapses to the ground, slowly writhing and twisting in death throes as well as effects of the first round of the spell.
Congrats on defeating this monster to the party one and all.
Experience divided up evenly between those attacking and moving to = 2250 each to
Delyliath
Illia
Jhaelwyn
Drisquar
RP XP later on
So now that it is defeated, onward towards the caravan I presume, or what does the party want to do before hand?
BTW there is no appreciable treasure on this creature. It has no need and it had left all the goods in that prior site of a battle against it. Obviously the PCs are much tougher than their exterior appearances might suggest.
The strange aberrant thing in front of those there looks about with dim, dull, bulging eyes and with a heave of its large gut spews forth a vomited like mess of partially digested 'things' digestive juices, and who knows what else.
Acidic Vomit Attack
Cone 45% to the front (Hence where is Illia) 30 ft range
Ref Save vs DC 20 for Half Damage
Damage:3d4 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) = 8
Fort Save vs DC 20 or be Nauseated for Duration in Rounds:1d4 ⇒ 1
No for this initiative (still individual for this fight) the others all beat out the monster, and Sanriel is the only one going after the Ogre Snail Flail Mashup
Reasoning would indicate it left from the city the two peddlers left from and is heading to the same, other, drow city effectively (ahead) of them as well.
Delyliath sighs a little hearing about Illia and Drisquar engaging in combat.
"You can't leave those kids roaming on their own for a second that they instantly stumble in some kind of trouble. Just don't kill them please, It might be useful to have a sleeper agent in the Underdark trading routes" she says telepathically to her group. on the other hand she addresses the merchants with a smile and says
"it has been a pleasure doing business with you." and then vanish in thin air appearing back where the battle is going on with her rapier unsheathed.
She kisses her blade and says "I might as well give this beauty a try don't you think?"
[dice=Initiative]1d20+4
I'll make my attack assuming I can get in a flanking position. if I can't or is immune to flanking decrease 2 from the attack roll
I am also assuming I can attack but feel free to resolve this after the next turn of the enemy
Yes it is large so you can get into a flanking position
I will count this as Move then Attack in what is the end of Rd 2 (moving last this time based on what has already happened then back into Init Order for Rd 3 where the monster has already rolled Rd 3 Init for the Monster
Init Rd 3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12)
Monster Total Damage Taken is 61 at the end of Rd 2 (Giving me a great idea how to structure future combats also
So Rd 3 Starting Off (And yes I am giving the PCs the benefit of the doubt and it is deliberate)
Monster Init 12 (already rolled)
PCs Roll for Init please
Illia
Delyliath
Drisquar
Sanriel
I am on EST (Florida)
Days off are Wed, Fri, Sat
Otherwise work 9.5 hour days and tend to be busy (so you all understand)
Got one question, anyone here under 18?
Also if there is a topic that someone does not want mentioned, touched on, etc, PM me what it is. I do no need to know the reason, just you saying it is more than adequate a reason is all.
That is asked mostly as you all are heading to a Drow City and I want to make sure it is all going to go smoothly, etc.
Not a problem, I mentioned the miss chance as that's a bit more key
Dris winces slightly as the beast batters him with blows that are mostly turned aside thanks to his celestial heritage. He then strikes again and again, almost too quick to perceive.
1d20+15 Attack one for 1d6+6+1d6
1d20+10 Attack two for 1d6+6+1d6
The Strange monster in front of Dris seems to be stung a bit with those blows and is becoming a bit more frantic in the flailing and attacks
Apologies I missed seeing the DR. The attacks are just giant club like fists so reduce by 10 each one that hit so total damage a very paltry 9 points of damage
"Oh, we're rather frightening ourselves. We've got some new team members and I'd personally like to shake down the group dynamic a bit before the real job. So if you could give me spacial coordinates, I think we could use the practice."
** spoiler omitted **
Sanriel is within range and she could reach out to him. He is almost out of range though so a single message in essence
You are correct in that you answered the question that you answered again. The question I needed answer too was this one.
"Oh, we're rather frightening ourselves. We've got some new team members and I'd personally like to shake down the group dynamic a bit before the real job. So if you could give me spacial coordinates, I think we could use the practice."
Sorry a bit confuzzled here
Spatial coordinates to the creature heading that way
To the Drow City behind the merchants
The caravan of Drow behind the merchants
The city in front, the merchants are heading to
Which
Just in case doing some design work for the Drow City.
Basic layout in progress, Throne Room Defenses thought of, 8 max HP Male Driders as an Honor Guard with some special magic items, Matriarch Concept Done Noble (Drow) 5, High Priestess of Llolth Cleric 15, Mother of most of the city. 6 some new magic items, 2 spells, 5 new organizations within the city, 2 creature ideas (just rough concepts), 3 ideas for significant NPCs. Along with ideas for 3 differing NPC Party Groups that may get used in part or total in following missions or separate games.
It is the size of a large ogre or a small hill giant
A rough humanoid like shape, thick with muscles with a strange large snail like shell on the back. Like a cross between a turtle and a snail shell, obviously providing a large amount of defense for the thing. It has a thick looking skin as well.
Two large spatula like feet leaving a slime trail, again like a snail, carries it along. Two massive arms end in club like fists, more like massive greatclubs than fists in fact.
It is sniffing the air more and more the close you approach
In the roof of the cavern, Jhaelwyn patiently waited. She was slowly moving in the direction Sanriel and Drisquar had disappeared and humming softly to herself. She didn't mind waiting, but it could get awfully boring. Hopefully the curious creature would come soon. In the meanwhile, she pondered on the mystery of the peddlers and their children. Hmhmhm. Some modifications could make it a reality - but why ? Whywhy why...
@GM - I sent my familiar in the opposite direction of Sanriel's scouting with orders to check out that other noise. I assume that whatever it is it is still quite distant (or was it just the rat swarms :)?)
That noise was the Rat Swarms coming along was all
Also, a question. As I've had the book burning a hole in my pocket since I got hold of it earlier this year would you permit me to grab some spells from the Kobold press Deep Magic book?
there are some really cool earth spells in there and I'd love to use them. One of them generating an ant lion trap in earth/stone with you at the center. Also another one which generates big ol'e pillars of earth to squish people into the ceiling with.
The book also has a spell for witches/wizards which summons a swarm of burning screaming monkeys. *looks at Jhaelwyn*
Not that anyone would have an interest in screaming burning monkeys around here though.
About a minute after all the rats show up, they move as a single group out along away from the direction the peddlers had been moving in.
Our children are letting us know there is something that is frightening them. I think we shall follow along with them, detouring around what has frightened them. Care to join us ladies and sir?
