Hey guys, I'm sorry I've been completely swamped as of late, and I don't see things changing in the near future. I've loved playing with you all, it's been a blast, but I think it's probably best you everyone if I withdraw. I can't stress enough how much fun this game has been and how much I've enjoyed playing and learning from you all. Thank you, it has been a pleasure.
Fyrtor nods at Mel's suggestion and dismisses the spells. "I'm fine." he pauses awkwardly for a moment before continuing. "Uh Melia? Sorry about, well, what happened back there. I didn't mean to leave you there like that, but the woman, well it's no excuse but I, anyways I'm sorry. It won't happen again" Fyrtor finishes sheepishly avoiding looking directly at her.
Fyrtor draws his dagger rushing to back up Mel. He then pulls on the aqueous orb forcing it into the pugilist's space. [B]"Fall back, I'll handle this."**
So I've been trying to figure the interactions of my two "spheres" on the field. I think the pugilist would have to make a reflex save again against the cloud at the start of his turn to avoid getting damaged since he still shares his square with it, but I'm not sure? Also I thought about trying to catch him with the aqueous orb, but itçs technically too big for the hall. I'm not sure I can move it into a smaller space. Also what happens when you try to move the effects on top of each other? Can you? Do they stack? Do they cancel each other out?
As far as moving it into the room Fyrtor is in the hall and I don't think he'd reasonably know what happened inside the room from his viewpoint keeping the orb in the hall is a great way to keep anyone from escaping the room.
I'll make my move if we can get some GM input on what I can and can't do.
Fyrtor struggles mightily against the compulsion, shame washing over him. He'd blamed himself for his father's death, thinking that one of his friends might die while he ran was enough to make him physically ill. Mel and the others need me I CANNOT run! Goddess of Mercy, please let it not be too late. Fyrtor turns around, trowing off the enchantment and immediately heading back into the fray.
Seeing Mell be struck he angrily cries the word ot one of his most powerful spell.
Greater Aggressive Thundercloud, DC18 Reflex to avoid damage, if damaged DC18 Fort to avoid stun:6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 1, 2, 4) = 20
Fyrtor reacts immediately first drawing the rod Turion had given him, then casting aqueous orb on on closest bodyguard.
Cast focused aqueous orb on the close guard. It's normally a 10ft orb, idk how that interactions with the smaller space. If I can get it out then it should be able to attempt to catch both. DC18 reflex for the close guard, and 17 for the further.
If I can't cast aqueous orb I'll cast slowing mud instead. Same targets but the DC will be one higher
Soni'm sorry for my delayed response. I 5hink I'll be outside with Melia trying to look as normal as I can in the "bouncer" role.
Fyrtor stands with Melia trying to fit the part of a bouncer. He nods to the bodyguards, but doesn't say anything just cleans his nails with his "dagger."
Fyrtor will start to interrogate the barman while Khazador reads the papers. "Well, I suggest you start talking. We know you're with the Reapers, the papers you've tried to hide are all the evidence we will need to prove it."
Realizing that he's found what he needs Fyrtor commands the elementals "Stop her." He then focuses his attention on the woman attempting to hide the evidence and stepping forward and attacking.
Fyrtor points at the woman, "Grab her." he commands the elementals in Auran. He then runs passed her following the woman who went though the south door.
Fort save for previous Round:1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 4 = 18
Fort save for this round:1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 4 = 20
Perception:1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Number of aether elementals summoned:1d3 ⇒ 3
Fyrtor fights off the coying mist and finishes his spell, summoning three aether elementals. In Auran he orders them, "Follow and hold the people I point to." 5o Khaz he calls, "Khaz we need to get a move on. Finish with that bouncer and catch up."
He then heads through the door.
The small aether elementals should be summoned near the door, and should be immune to the cloud as it is a poison effect.
Move action to open door, 5ft step though the door. Standard action to go after.
Sorry, work has been crazy since we got back from the holidays, left me pretty drained. Thanks for the bump.
Fyrtor seeing Khazador had 5he bouncers in hand and that the bartender was sufficiently distracted for the moment begins preparing for the Reapers counterstrike.
Sacrificing Communal Spiderclimb to begin casting summon nature's ally 3 (Aether elementals)
Fyrtor casts barkskin on himself and moves to block the door the barman was headed for, trying to not let the heady euphoria over power him as he strides into the yellow-green fog.
Fort Against the Cloud:1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 4 = 25
"How are you holding up Khaz."
AC is now 27. Sorry for the delay in posting holidays kept me busy.
Fyrtor's head clears after a moment as he hears Kahz set him a task. "On it"
He draws his sword and moves passed the bouncer that struck him, blade ready to deflect any attacks. He then takes a brief moment to size up the barman and casts a spell. A thick yellowed fog spread out from the door he just opened spilling into the room.
Studied Target the barman as a swift action. Spell cast is euphoric cloud, DC16 fort or be fasinated for 1d4+1 rounds. Repeat saves each round while in the fog. The barman has a harder time and must make a DC18 save while being my studied target. Also blocks vision as fog cloud, butbKahz and I can see through it due 5o feast of ashes. Also we have +4 5o our saves against the effect.
Fyrtor winces at his friends words. Well, I guess the jig is up. Probably should have discussed a little more. Oh well. He subtly reaches into his belt pouch to grab some of the special mushrooms needed for the drugged fog he'd mentioned to Khaz earlier while trying to keep an eye on everyone.
Ready an action to cast euphoric cloud if anyone moves to attack us. Note, Kahz and Fyrtor will need to make saves if the spell is cast, but will do so at a +4 because of Ashen path.
Pack Empathy crew:
Turion and Mel feel a spike of annoyance and nervous thrill though the link.
"I am sorry, but this blade will not leave my possession, tis too dear to my heart. But I will allow it to be peace bonded. Surely that will satisfy you?"
Diplomacy:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
Fyrtor was reluctant to suggest such a course, but could see no other way forward aside from doing as the barkeep said, and he would not let his father's blade out of his possession if at all possible. The mere thought of it galled him, and some of the bitterness laced his otherwise sweet words.
Sorry about the typo. The name of the spell is ashen path. It says in 5he spell description that the duration can be split, but in 10 minute increments.
Fyrtor for his part shifts his sword back to regular size and hangs it on his belt. "One moment. When we get inside I may cast up a fog, or a cloud of drugged smoke. I have a spell that will let us see through it though."
He then casts when path splitting the time between the two of them. "Ok, let's go.
"Hmm, you're probably right. Lets try to disguise ourselves a bit first then. If Melia were here she could have done us up, but since she isn't we'll have to make do. One more stop then." Fyrtor grabs a disguise kit at a nearby store and works up an alternate look for himself and a younger nobel of little account.
Disguise:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
I'll swap to the main alt for this, just in disguise per the skill as described.
Also while I'm updating my sheet, does anyone need changes to my concoctions list? I don't remember how we came to the number 21 but I don't plan an changing it. We've been handling updates to the list off screen which I'm fine with. If there's something that anyone in particular needs though just let me know. Any potionable druid spell is on the table.
Also I can make extracts of any 4th or 5th level spell as well, though those lock me out of a spell slot. Still sometimes that could be very much worth doing.
Here's the link to the current list of concoctions and holders if anyone needs a reminder. I'm thinking particularly of Hal as these seem right up his alley and the list was made before he joined the party.
Also, as an aside, I realized as I was starting to update my sheet that I have no use for the cunning liar trait as my conversion inquisition coverts that. So instead of getting that trait with my background trait I'm taking forbidden knowledge. IT allows me to make knowledge planes checks with my knowledge religion, so long as that is acceptable to the GM :)
I figure it is a nice way to explain how I know and use elementals, coming from my religious background. I don't expect it to matter too often as we have knowledge skills far greater than mine from most party members.
I'm good with the plan. Khaz and Fyrtor play well off each other, and Turick has seen us work as a pair before.
Before we split Fyrtor will cast pack empathy on a representative from each split. It's not a telepathic link, but it's nice to be able to keep tabs on one another.
So three potential tasks, five players. At least two needed for the outpost. I'd guess Mel could do an infiltration alone, But I'd feel better with her having support. Research is ok as a solo task usually, but with enemies looking for us it is dangerous to be alone, even in basically public areas it seems. Turion has the advantage that with Nelly he can somewhat be his own backup, so long as Nelly can accompany him.
I'm ok either way. I think Fyrtor would be best at either the infiltration with Mel, or busting the outpost with Khaz. The infiltration and research seem like tasks that can be done in smaller groups, the outpost, I'm not as sure.
Fyrtor is a good sneaker (relatively) so would join in the infiltration. I don't have teleportation, but a much of other useful tricks. If we have time before we go I could respec my spells for a purpose built set as well.
Hey guys, sorry I've been silent 5he past while, my family's had COVID (we're all recovering well, so no worries) but it has sapped my focus quiet a bit. I'll try to catch up tomorrow and read through the many posts I've missed.
I need to get approval from GM on my background feat; I intend to take additional traits again (which I can do because I took the exemplar trait traveler if a hundred lands) an pick up cunning lier; wisdom(Regional trait) and Redeemer (Faith trait).
Cunning liar will let me use wisdom to bluff which be a nice out of combat boost and play nicely with our recent experiences. Also being a regional trait it gets me another class skill from my exemplar trait. I plan to take knowledge planes.
Redeemer will probably never come up, but it fits his character so nicely I'd like to pick it up. It helps with sponsoring evil people who decide to change.
Other notes skills will be fairly straightforward stuff I have aside from throwing a rank or 2 in knowledge planes.
Class level will be druid, which adds 2 really nice improvements, 5th level spells, and swift action studied target.
Sorry, I've been quiet, busy week. Just a note all of Fyrtor's damage was nonlethal, so in addition to the spell Fenith cast, anyone that Fyrtor hit should still be alive unless Kahz completely brained them following (which is a very real possibility lol).
As for our 0lan, I say we grab what we want, then call in the cavalry. Holding onto the papers and hand delivering them to 5hw Viscount protects them from damage and would give us time to review ourselves. Also if any need to disappear we can make that happen as well.
Actually I think Kahz uses an earthbreaker, that's why the 2d6 base damage. He does have improved unarmed strike if I remember right though so time 5i start punching people I guess...
I did totally forget about the haste buff. Who applied that again? How long is it active?
I'd rather not use roll20 for maps for purely selfish reasons. I do pbp via my phone, and only my phone. It's been a while, but last time I checked roll20 didn't work very well on mobile. Though if that's changed I'd be down for trying it.
Hey guys, sorry for the delay, I'm back now though life's been a bit busy. New babies tend to shake things up a bit. I just want to point out that Kazador can DD as well. If he and Turion both go in we have twice the ability to jump back out of things go sideways.
Fyrtor will cast hightened awareness, barkskin and pack empathy. 2 people get empathy with Fyrtor, I'd pick Mel and let her pick the third since she'll be hitting me.
Otherwise all non italicized spells should be good to go and the concoction slots as noted.
