How is a target affected by oracle's burden if the oracle has taken the clouded vision curse? Does this mean that the target sight is simply limited to 30 feet, but without darkvision? Also, at 5th level, when the oracle's darkvision increases to 60 feet, the target of the curse is still limited normal vision of 30 feet?
Using the bear shaman as an example, can she choose the bonus each time she uses the ability? Our group is split. Some people are saying that each time Totem Transformation is used, one of the abilities is chosen. Then if the shaman uses tot. trans. later in the day, she can choose a different ability. Some people are saying that one of the abilities is chosen and that is the only one the shaman gets. Can anyone set our group straight?
I picked up a Combat Pad when they were first released. After looking at it, I thought something in an A4 size would work better. However, after numerous sessions, it has worked just fine. Despite that, I do agree with some suggestions already noted. The main one is to reduce the size of the product name and move the company logo to a corner. There are six players in my group so things can get crowded fairly quickly. The "Next Round" magnet too serves for me a reminder to move the "Round" arrow. I love the fact that I can write down on which round something will occurs, such as when a summoned creature will make it's appearance and draw an arrow to the corresponding number at the top of the pad. The initiative increments aren't really an issue for me. I usually start encounters with all the players' and monsters' magnets on the "Notes" side of the pad. I then go around the table asking each player what their initiative roll was and then write it on the pad next to the magnet. Once I know everyones number, place them on the "Initiative" side of the pad. I kept the cardboard insert from the packaging and placed it behind the pad and I use them together on a clipboard that has almost the exact same size footprint as the combat pad. Keeps things very sturdy. I picked up a plastic case at a 99 cent store similar to the one linked at office depot. It's an A4 size and large enough for the pad, 4 dry erase pens and two folded up flip mats.
Yeah, I'm a little late to this party, but I too would be very interested in some Ptolus mods or a Ptolus adventure path published by Paizo. I picked up three of the ptolus minis from the FLGS. I've only gotten around to painting the Viridian Lord, but the minotaur priest and litorian warrior are are primed.
I was wondering why FLGS aren't able to stock this item. I purchased my Item Pack cards, flip mats, spell templates, campaign workbook, and even Ptolus minis from my FLGS. However, he told me that he is not able to stock the Status Cards in his store. I try to support my FLGS whenever possible. How come this item isn't available to store owners to sell?
Is it possible to order a sheet of the magnets for the Game Mastery Combat Pad? When I used a damp cloth to wipe away the wet erase markers from the magnet, some of the ink seeped between the magnet and the label surface affixed to them. This caused some serious bleeding, and it also for the label to peel away from the magnet itself. I really love the combat pad, but would like to get some more magnets for it.
I really love these cards. I can't wait for the 3rd set to get released. I told the owner of the FLGS to make sure and hound his distributor so I don't have to deal with another delay. I got 98 out of the set #2, but combined with my cards from the first set, I'm only missing about about 4 or 5. Three of them; Bolts (#19), Flail (#23), and Bottle (#96) are really the only ones I was disappointed to have missing from my collection.
Krome wrote: While the art was nice, the back had so little space for writing that they are not very useful to me. Unless I somehow manifest tiny clear handwriting, I just can't use them. More open space on the back for writing would be nice. I just use a letter/number code and then references that to a master list with the full description. For example, on a longsword card, I might write SL-1, and on my master list I would have SL-1: +1 keen longsword. After that weapon was retired/sold, I could recycle it back at a later time or in the next campaign and SL-1 might be a masterwork, two-handed greatsword. If the player then enchanted this sword, I would make changes to the master list.
I've been leaning back and forth with these for a couple of days, but have decided that they wouldn't really be useful at all to me. If I wanted to add clipart or cutouts to blank cards myself, I'd just use regular card stock. As long as you keep releasing cards with great artwork, I'll stick with those instead.

Thanks Vic for the link, and thanks Lisa for the distribution explanation. I wasn't sure if it was a supply issue on Game Mastery or the distributors themselves. I was leary to buy from the website because I didn't want to place an order only to find out that I would have to wait because there were not enough in stock. Glad to know that's not the case. I'll wait another week or so to see if the retailers and distributors can get their orders in, 'cause I like supporing the FLGS. If not, then I'll order from the website.
I use Dundjinni. It's easy and produces great looking maps. The only problem I have with it and other mapping software I've used is that it get's very expensive to print out the maps themselves. As previously posted, I would like to eventually get a projector. In hind sight, I could have probably gotten a decent used one off ebay for the amount of cash I spent on ink cartridges. Now I am mainly using Dundjinni to design maps which I then draw out by hand on the battlemat.

Hmmm. That's kinda lame. I've got a box of Item Pack 2 boosters on order, which I still plan on getting. I was going to pick up another deck of Item Pack 1, but if those cards are in the IP2 set, then there's really no need. I do feel a bit jipped if I get a bunch of cards from the first set though, as I was looking forward to all new artwork. *Edit*
contains 110 all-new playing-card–sized cards As opposed to IP2: Hero's Horde which omits the "all-new" reference: Hero’s Hoard contains 110 playing-card–sized cards
Amaril wrote: So I'm almost completely sold on these Item Packs, but I have one issue with them: the descriptions. I'd rather they didn't have descriptive text That's simple enough, just put them into sleeves with black backs to cover up the back of the cards, then write your own item name or description on the back of the sleeve with a colored gel pen or a white grease pencil or some other marker that will show up on black.
Can someone explain the Temple of the Scorpion God to me? I'm looking at the map and then flipping to the description and it just doesn't make sense. Are the adobe huts at the top of the stairs to the left in front of area 3B? Are they next to the stairs? Normally I wouldn't really care that much, but under the tactics of the drow it mentions the lower, middle, and upper levels with regard to concealment. If anyone can tell me how they DMed this encounter, I would greatly appreciate it. |
