BTW, I don't know how you feel about the flesheater archetype, but Fral is using that archetype. early on I'll be eating a lot of my fallen enemies... mostly the ones with powers like claws or darkvison. later i won't have to eat people anymore but will mostly do it for flavor.

Grand Lodge

I did as you ask. I use those too much it's becoming a habit I should avoid. Ruins my otherwise great stories... Will add on to Fral as I go... tweak here and there.

Grand Lodge

William here, changing my application. I've had some games die with characters that I loved, so here i Present Fral. he was made for a Reign of winter game that never made it past the first encounter.

I will keep his general concept, but otherwise I'm changing some things... mostly backstory.

@Grog, sorry, this game seems to have died, I'm pulling Fral out so I can use him elsewhere... because he is a fun Character so far...

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral sees the undead and growls. He holds his cold iron sythe up and strides forword 20feet due to fast movement and redies a for the undead to aproach readying a standard action for one of them to get close.

Grand Lodge

Fral is sad... not kill anything.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral is waiting... always waiting

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral growls as he sees his allies drawing their weapons he pulls out his scythe and looks for the threat.
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 9
initi: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

So... are we still doing this?

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral scans the horizon

Gnoll:
Something not right
he watches, his instincts crying out.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

seeing that everyone else seems to be looking for something, Fral begins looking around for whatever they seem to be...
Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 19

however, his dull mind isn't smart enough to have any knowledge worth mentioning.

Ice cream? what does frozen cream have to do with anything!!! besides the fact that it's probably everywhere up here in the cold ;)

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral just hands his scythe to Rolph, he then moves over to the two women and watches them curiously. when alec speaks, Fral wonders what is said, but doesn't really care.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral sees the dwarf leave, and knowing that dwarf's weapons are often better that gnoll's, he follows him out. be gently pokes him on the back than points at his scythe. trying to let the darf know he wants him to make it better at least to masterwork quality :)

he waits to see if the dwarf will respond

Fral have scythe, Fral love scythe, Fral only lose scythe if Fral can improve scythe or find better scythe... Fral...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

fral grumbles, he hates fey... all gnoll hate fey... they taste horrible!

Gnoll:
where are the fey? Me smash them to paste and use paste as... paste...uh, I think...

fral stares at the two woman in the group, infatuated with them and rather bored, unable to understand the man...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral stands and follows Giovanni.

Gnoll:
[b]Witches? what wrong with that? many powerful gnoll women witches... beautiful and strong too.[b]

Fral licks his chops at the thought. he quickly pulls his scythe from the floorboards, taking some of the floor with it, and heads outside with the hobgoblin.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral looks confused and turns to Giovanni.

Gnoll:
so, what did the lady say?

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral shakes himself and looks down at his scythe.

Gnoll:
You think they speak my kin?

Fral points at the two woman
gnoll:
they are quite atractive... even to me...
Fral tries to keep his voice down.

I've read most of Salvatore's books. Drizzt is also now one of the major figureheads in D&D

If any of you didn't get that,

The "two is a curse" thing comes from a saying in the Forgotten Realms books about teiflings.

The book is... Brimstone Angels, but I have forgotten the author.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

i would introduce myself, but all they would possibly get is a grumble and a strange feeling that they might be eaten later.

as they say: one is a coincidence, two is a curse, and three is a cult.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

turning to Giovanni, Fral smiles.

Gnoll:

I am Fral! Tribe Call me Bloodfeeder, but Fral no Eat other Gnoll so they attack Fral and chase me way.

Fral chugs a decent amount of the mead down as he listens to Giovanni ask his question.

Gnoll:
You My only friend! Me no find anyone so friendly to me! Fral Would Feel...Uh...GOOD to come with you!

watching the door, he sees the two woman enter. even as a gnoll he found them to be quite beautiful.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

fral nods at the hobgoblin ans smiles.

gnoll:
Help make friend of you the words are harsh, even for gnoll

Fral heads back to his Booth and sits next to his scythe. once he gets his meal, he gourges on it without even lifting his hads to grab the meat, instead using one to hold the mead and the other to make sure the table doesn't fall over.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Fral notices the hobgoblin and sighs. perhaps he help me

Gnoll:
Do you speak my kin? I help needed

Fral watches intently, hoping to the gods to finally find someone who can talk to him...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

fral stand and goes to the bar, leaving his scythe stuck in the floor by his table. because he is hunched ove, he stands only 5'6", but he is burly and wide. he comes to the bartender and spits out a word that can only be described as throttled. " Meat!" he says, mangling the word with his canine mouth.

I wait for several.... uhhh.... long time!

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

oh, so I'm comming up with a very short list of word fral can say... here it is:

yes, no, meat, bed

bed is interpreted more as sleep, and meat is interpreted more as food, and the yes and no are usually spouted out if he doesn't want to do something or if he thinks that's what need said.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

having arrived just the other day, Fral sat in a dark corner of the bar, where no-one could really notice him. if he stood, he would tower over almost everyone in the bar, his scythe was placed firmly in the floorboards by the table. he had yet to order anything, mostly because he couldn't understand the barmaid.

His attire was ratty and shoddily made, and the chainmail he wore looks like it was made using parts from several different sets. He watched others mill about the tavern and he huffed to himself.

When will meat be here? He thought to himself.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

dot... could you turn me to inactive on the other thread? I doted in and now i just have an extra campaign filling my page...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

fine I'll just mill about the :/

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

dog? >_-

Repeat In character...

Fral sits at the tavern table... eating a rather large rack of ribs.
his scythe is placed into the floorboards near his chair. Fral is ignoring the obvious stares from around the room. he is more concerned with his meal than anything any of those weak human have to say... even if he could understand them...

You would have to run me through dirty trick as I havn't seen it in play ever

Really? well i guess you don't really ever see too many CM users... it basically applies one negative effect on your opponent for one round... depending on the attacker's choice. everything from blinded to nauseated. basically you throw dirt in their eyes or kick them where it hurts...

oh didn't see it was already explained...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

same here... Both for RP and tactical sake...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

he is... my bad, i get the two mixed up allot :)

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

selena has a great concept, but giovanni is just great :)

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

plus, if we pick a ranger, they are offensive as is, although i will draw aggro the best i can :)

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

hey! i have d12 for my hit die, I am a Barbarian! i can smash most enemies... with a little buffing from our support casters or course.

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Alec is a ranger with the trapper archetype, which allows him to find and disable traps.

as for a face...Why no me?*smiles stupidly*

no for realz now: Selena was a suggestion i believe...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

the goblin sure is blasting out those crunches... :/

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

hey, I'm technically a tank... well, not AC wise but DMG wise...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

I enjoy the RP portion of PBP more than i enjoy the combat... by a marginal degree! The paizo dice gods just don't like anyone... except the overpowered characters...

besides, if I've learned anything after all these characters, It's that you can do anything if you're smart enough. build an awoken bear in the bard/rouge classes, then max out your disguise skill...

Grand Lodge

Fral snorts and tries to calculate your jokes.
He stares at you for a few minutes and then he finnaly just gives up on thinking. "Don't get It..."

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

well, as long as the two brutes don't get in the way of you other four... I think we could do pretty well. just use disguise to hide the fact that we are not humans :)

most commoners don't look beyond the surface, and most NPC that do won't object unless they are an antagonist... or hate gnolls...

and to be honest, GM Grog is supporting Giovanni although he only said it up on his second post

that usually means he won't have a town attack up because we have two non-standard races... in fact he'll probably play off the fact that we do and make the game more interesting...
and by the way, I'm not evil, i just do what i want... there is a difference! I don't openly kill all who oppose me, i don't plot and scheme to gain power at the expense of others, I just go with the flow... if we happen to kill a giant and we have some time... or perhaps a frost worm, just a huge monster...

we WILL need another melee fighter(and some ranged combat would be nice). Giovanni even has a rhino, a tank in every sense of the word. I'm highly suggesting him, we can find many ways to get past traps other that simply having a rouge get them... or i can try to intimidate and draw everything to me with my 16 AC in rage... sure, i become a giant at later levels, but I can't take a hit from EVERY enemy... even if i try to.

just thinking about it... I MAY DIE EARLY ON!!

Grand Lodge

HEY! I'm not a dog, I'm a hyena... there's a difference ;)

If it doesn't derail every social interaction we have. I'm pretty sure most people are going to be hostile from the start and still trying to figure out the likelihood that you'd be seen as anything other than an enemy in Heldren, where we start. Adding another monstrous humanoid t that point is just setting the whole party up for disaster.

yeah, every human outpost... but what about every orc, giant, and otherwise non-human camp/tribe we come upon? They may actually just begin as unfriendly rather than hostile on sight. we may be able to talk our way out of most major combat :)

... or we could get a good speaker as well. someone with high diplomacy can talk to most of the human communities and get them from attacking us :) ... besides I'm sure most of the outposts would have begun as unfriendly anyways.

That's going to become a real problem when we have to interact with pretty much any other civilized outpost and liable to gut us attacked fro the outset or at least always start out dealing with hostile social situations.

well... at least he can talk to people... I can't... if i see anyone being hostile I have two things in mind: "am I hungry" and "Who is the Strongest among them".

he just hates witches... It would be great RP when you guys have to get me to stop... I'll eventually take a rank in a linguistics in order to learn common...eventually ;P

and no... I'm not an animal... If anything i'd be treated like a Magical Beast...

Edit:I was just reading the rules on the archetype and... if I where to have good Int, you'd still have this issue because the total of Int penalty during rage amounts up to a total of -6 at lvl 11...

Grand Lodge

Male Orc Barbarian(Flesheater) 1

Giovanni is really pushing to be a player... and i think it would be interesting when half the group is monstrous species.

for communication clarification:

I'm treating anything you tell fral as if I'm an animal companion that doesn't always listen... i understand basics of common, such as "yes","no", "stop", and "OMG run away!".

this should help me... stop from walking into every trap because i can't understand you telling me that you see an Ice shooting magic rune on the wall. however, when i rage, this understanding goes a little... down the drain. Whenever I rage i get a -2 to my Int, then when i use my flesh-eater powers i get an additional -2... reducing me to the absolute minimum of 3 Int... so i basically become as smart as a dumb magical animal... I still understand "yes" and "no"... but anything other than that starts to blur the lines between what you want me to do and what i think you want me to do...

He does seem a good choice for a second melee class, and the tracking skills would be great in this campaign... the only thing is we won't have a trapper...
