![]() Yeah. I'm as bit concerned as the gm let him make the giant a fast zombie and he intends to blood money-> stoneskin-> Greater infernal healing if he has time before combat. The fighter recommended he cast greater magic weapon on the glaive it has. We all had a good laugh when he said he's just going to cast fly on the Dragon skeleton and fly into combat atop it. ![]()
![]() Typing on a phone but wanted to ask the community. Last night after clearing hook mountain a player used judicious use of stone shape to unearth the rest of the blue Dragon skeleton and cast animate dead. Then after leveling up we returned so he could animate the rune giant body as a zombie. Gm wasn't phased and let it roll. We're actually pretty excited at the prospect of hiding the Dragon in thistletop and the giant in the ocean nearby. What are your thoughts on the situation as a whole? ![]()

I'm so tired of being the only one willing to play a career in my group. Hopefully I can get some martial joy out of running this campaign and the lack of caster will show itself. ![]()
![]() So I'll admit I haven't read every single post. With that in mind, I jumped for joy when I read this blog. I've avoided pfs for lack of ingenuity seen at tables. I remember playing my yearly dip into pfs last year and having to use Kyra because I wasn't high enough level. Good thing I did. We dealt with hellknights and I was the only one with a respectable diplomacy. Everyone else built cannons. This is great for me. I want to gm core mode only and bring my group to convention. Or do it for it home group. Heck, if my marine nephew who rarely plays is home, he won't feel overwhelmed and can spend time with his uncle. I don't own a FGLS or anything but if this works well and I get some cash I'm just going to buy a whole season and run with it. As for experienced players, as a player of 3.0 onward, I look at this for what it is: hard mode. Not hard to understand, but challenging. I'm so excited to just pick a base class and run with it. I might even be a gnome! Ok that last part was a lie. I hate gnomes. ![]()
![]() Hey all. I'm typing on my phone so bare with me. We're about to start rise. I ran this up to right before Thistletop and the group had some infighting and I left for two months for a job. We're back but much smaller and another player wants to run this. I'm super excited. However I usually run, so I get the "what the hell do I play" syndrome. We have me, an unknown race (likely half Orc) paladin and a human magus. I know how the entire adventure goes, so I know they would benefit from a bard, cleric of Desna, or wizard/sorcerer/arcanist of some sort. However, having never played and wanting the others to shine in their respective realms I want advice on what else could benefit the party of paladin and magus. ![]()
![]() I like the ideas but if I may add a few suggestions. I would leave lyrie as is unless her background doesn't come into play. Nualia as a bloodrager is interesting. I think it works with the mythic idea. Otherwise inquisitor would be a great fit. Also, adding the idea that Lyrie is possessed by a succubis of Lamashtu would be an interesting twist as a way of controlling the soon to be general. The Tsuto being into his sister is creepy and awesome. You could have Aldern captured on the road back to Magnimar and locked in a dark room in Thistletop. When the pc's first enter the room they could see glowing red eyes until the torch light shines on him. This would activate the obsession and foreshadow his change. ![]()

Well I think that's quite easy. You don't need to roll a bluff check to cast a spell. It's a virtue of your base class abilities. As for the proof of what is a spell casting class, it's been provided. You've been proven wrong a dozen times over. But I suppose a numbered spells per day list is the easiest way. Prestige classes don't have that. They just have a section that tells what classes they add to. With that in mind, your subtle attempt to create enough traffic as to attract developer comment is clever but unlikely. ![]()
![]() Hahahaha. I'm dreadfully sorry but using Wizards of the Coast, who are the kings of underdeveloped books, almost nullifies any credibility you might have had. This has been an interesting read for sure. However, I agree with the simple statement of proof being your burden. I've seen several quite valid counterarguments, but no amount of proof will change your perspective. ![]()
![]() I don't get the chance to play many scenarios, but have we explored the realm of the mammoth lords yet? I also feel experiencing the area is greater than basic pathfinder exploration. And can we get away from the b.s. tie in to the adventure paths? If I wanted to explore those areas I would play the AP. ![]()
![]() As an atheist myself, I can attest that if a Ramadan festival had as much free food as the Swallowtail festival did, I'd keep my opinions to myself and eat! Not to mention his character may wish to experience the world. The fun is seeing how these random people come together and develop as characters while interacting with the story. Not to mention it gives the option of making ancient magic users terrifying to behold when they know nothing of the history but what Broderick Quint tells them. ![]()
![]() I had actually considered that. In your picture it appears you have the pawns front and back folded over like the pathfinder paper minis. I was under the impression that the Pawns were all one page and the next page in the list was their backside so you could glue them together. Am I wrong? And thank you for the image! ![]()

I believe Pathfinder Savant is what it's called. This would be a fun idea but you would indeed need to burn feats to pump up that UMD. I think it's your best bet. And the only ways I can think of are : Druid Dip, Pathfinder Savant Prestige Class, Wand of Shilleleigh, Ring of spell storing and druid pal. I would go with the wand and take the magus arcana that allows you to activate a wand with spell combat so you can pop it off in the first round and still attack. ![]()
![]() I don't plug them back into the frames for this reason. They aren't smooth bore edges they're cardboard. This isn't a flaw in the product. It's how cardboard works. Go to staples and pick up some Business card holders. They're cheap. I assume you're using the NPC codex (which I own as well). That's exactly what I did because I was having the same problem you had. It also allows you to organize them into race. On the subject of why they aren't created to be stored better (because I feel like that will come up): This is a mass produced cardboard product. The "frame" isn't meant to be used to store them. It's just pictures printed on cardboard with white coats and wax covers and the pressed out. Storage solutions vary between people. With that in mind, the pdf may suit you better because then you can also cut around the frames to include the weapons or other body parts that are excluded during the cutting process. ![]()
![]() Has anyone who prints these out come up with a solution for using them with the pawn bases. I feel I'll get more for my money with the pdf of the bestiary (I sold the physical copy to some friends) because I can always just print what I need. However, cardstock paper doesn't really go into the pawn bases with just one sheet of width. Any suggestions. I have yet to purchase the pdf of any of them because I'm trying to determine a solution to this issue before I do. ![]()
![]() I used business card pages from Staples. Cheap and effective for medium and large. just place them, and then fold the pages in half. Keeps them from falling out and smaller transport. The huge I keep in their frames in a folder. The small I keep in their frames in the same boxes I use for the medium/large (NPC codex box for example.) However, you're spot on that there isn't a surefire way to keep them in place. I'm considering just dividing them into zip lock bags based on type. ![]()

This. I'm the guy everyone asks. In every group I play in. I know this will come across as negative, but that gets annoying. I'm buying this book. ![]()
![]() I have a question for those who get the PDF. How exactly does that come? Is it a sheet full of the pictures the next page has them reversed? Or is it like the pathfinder paper minis line? I like the paper minis and have considered just getting the pdf's of this and future pawns (I own Bestiary 1, RotRL, S&S, and NPC Codex box). I'd definitely be more inclined to buy more bases because I'd be able to print out multiples instead of being limited to what's in the physical product. Any info is appreciated!
