What, I have... one spell left? Might as well make it count. Ezra, galvanized by the two zombies being struck down, tries one last time to cast murderous command on the wizard.

Ezra will quickly hobble over to the necromancer and point at him, shouting. "Stop with the necromancy already!"

Ezra, confronted with an undead monstrosity takes the safest course of action... he full withdraws. towards the wizard. If only I could get within range. Maybe then, I could cast another spell...

Ezra will step up and let loose a burst of flames from his hands, grimacing in pain as the searing fire shoots from his skin.

Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Meh. I wold have let loose the flames starting from Khron's square to catch two of them, but that is neither in character nor very nice XD

I'm going to hold my action until they move closer

Anyone else think that cutting off its head now is a good idea? We know we're dealing with a necromancer, and fighting an undead ogre is not something Ezra wants to do.

I'm going to measure it, but the ogre might JUST be in range of my spell, so my readied action would go off. If he doesn't save against me, he might not have any punches to throw ^_^

As soon as Ezra feels the ogre is an range of the spell, he points to it and yells a single word. "FALL!"

The DC is 16. If he rolls above a 13 before modifiers, I will misfortune him.

Ezra mumbles something in Infernal (unknowingly as he thinks he's speaking common) and then continues in the tongue of devils. "Don't let it get too close... Asmodeus please, once again grant me your magic!"

I ready an action to cast command as soon as it steps in distance,

Ezra also double moves, but more to make sure Khron is okay. "Be careful!" Ezra hisses.

As did I.

I tried that... on two different computers. I'm seeing where the fog of war is, and where the cut out spaces are supposed to be... but I can't see any tokens nor the map.

*Transforms into a smurf*

*takes the win while GT is fighting them off*

Ezra hobbles along next to the bard.

So... what are the results? I think we are ready to move on.

*Summons a Pit Fiend to steal the win from Poog and bring it to me*

Ezra will turn to the party. "When we saw the necromancer, I was able to... control him somehow. Perhaps I could do the same thing to this thing here. If we want to run away, we could do that quite easily, but if you mercenaries want to kill it... well, I'll wait until it looks like it's about to attack, and then try to stun it with some of my god given magic."

Basically I'm suggesting to delay until it's turn and cast a spell on it then. Most likely command if not daze.

Ezra looks nervously to Payk. "So, what's the quickest way out of this graveyard?

Ezra strokes his beard. "Remember, there were traces of divination magic. He might have been scrying in the area, so if you're going to do this, do it fast."

Ezra stands back and goes by Payk's side, shaking his head. "This is not going to end well at all. Payk, if worst comes to worst, at least you know that I wanted nothing to do with this."

Ezra frowns and also attempts to look around.

And I'm just going to assume I can't try to make a diplomacy check on him to stand down. HE seems far too hostile for that. Perhaps if we get him unconscious we could tie him up, take away his magical goodies and then talk to him.

I will assume he says nothing about surrendering.

Lilt will step into a position he may cast burning hands on Kathal, but not his allies and readies an action to do so if he tries to cast a spell or use his wand. "Please Kathal, don't make this hard on us, we just want to talk."

Ezra reels on his allies. "Remember, we don't want to hurt him!"

Ah, so for the future, I should say something along the lines of, "He's misfortuned if his dice roll is above a 6"

And this is where we learn where Kathal is a level 20 Cleric able to channel for 10d6 points of damage... Even I'm not idealistic enough to expect no trouble XD

Wincing at the lack of subtlety, Ezra would immediately like to shout, "DON'T MOVE ANYONE! WE JUST WANT TO TALK!"

Ezra turns to his allies inside. "Should someone open the door? Let's see if we can talk to him and calm the situation... I don't like not knowing what's going on out there."

At this point in the mausoleum, we are probably chatting or playing cards quietly.

Ezra nods as well, rolling up his sleeves, and revealing his burnt arms to the others truly for the first time. "You know, I'm not too good at hiding either... perhaps I can stay with you and try to convince them to negotiate. If not, perhaps Asmodeus will lend me his fire again."

still, it's three 20's between us since encountering the mausoleum, four if you include flynn's role to identify Gotin's footiprints, and thank you for bringing up the footprints, Gotin was just about to mention it

an OGRE or a TROLL? and a probable human? I'd rather not know how those living arrangements work... still, if we can't find a way to get past that stone door, Flynn may be right that our best bet is to lie in wait, but outside since whoever they are are unlikely to enter the mausoleum unaware once they see it's been broken into.

Ezra shrugs. "Actually, if I were a powerful necromancer with something to hide, I'd probably rush in to see if anything had been stolen... and if nothing had been, I'd move my base of operations." He smiles. "You learn a thing or two when you work with mercenaries and shifty merchants."

Ezra shrugs and helps out the best he can, contesting himself to potentially failing miserably.

I will detect magic everywhere, but focus mainly on that Tomb

Ezra steps in the middle of the group, not wishing for anything to sneak up on him from behind.

Ezra abandons his post by the road and heads over to where the rest of the group is. "You should be careful... never know what you are going to find."

And I guess like every other 'human' I can see in the dark...

Would I need able to superheat the lock with burning hands in order to make it easier to break or bend?

Ezra will stay by the side of the road, ready to distract any guards/officials if need be. Look at me, being a watch out for criminals... this is so degrading...

Ezra sighs and against all better judgement says, "If you need someone as a lookout to distract guards if they come done the road, I can help with that."

Ezra frowns, quite uncomfortable with the idea of digging up an even empty grave. So digging up an empty grave is okay, but slavery regulated by law isn't?

Ezra stares at Yorrick, horrified. "You would desecrate these graves even further? What's the point, we already know a necromancer has been here, we just have to catch him."

you reach the graveyard in the late morning. Gotin is already there, poking around the graves.

Ezra gives a short wave to his countryman and smiles. "Hail friend! Have you found anything useful?" He is careful not to stay out Gotin's way as he pokes around the graves. He starts to offer his help... But stops when he remembers how oblivious he could be.

So I suppose we head over to the graveyard looking for Gotin on the way? Its not like we know he is there so its not going to be too rushed a walk

Ezra gives a small pout. "I sent a letter back to the Consortium and hopefully they will assist in this matter... but I am not sure when I will get a response. Besides by that time, I'm sure that we would have some sort of lead or conclusion to this tale. Other than that, I tried to purchase some land. I'm thinking I might have to settle here for work you see... but the mayor's office sent me off. I'm thinking they are planning to evacuate VERY soon if they aren't interested in an offer if money. We should go out looking for Gotin and see if we can speed up this investigation. Perhaps we can all watch the graveyard tonight..."

Did we all decide to go to the graveyard? I thought most of us were at the tavern
