![]() As they leave Korvosa, Evelyn unconsciously gravitates towards the others. Having never been out of the city it had never occurred to her how wide and...flat it would be. The smell was strange too, and made her nervous, which had the side effect of making her clingy. ![]()

![]() As the scene plays out the gears in Evelyn's head start to turn. If the spirit was right then this girl was innocent and it would probably be in bad taste to let her die. Blackjack had interjected conveniently, but he was apparently a few rolls short of a basket. She had to act quickly and decisively, yet Krofts warning rang through her head. Was she really willing to put herself in this sort of position? She- Suddenly her companions are bursting into action - distracting the executioner. Evelyn stands, floored, mouth agape. All she can muster is the thought that, sometimes, it pays to have foolish friends. ![]()

![]() Evelyn had no real experience in these sorts of situations. In fact, until now she was intentionally apathetic when exposed to raw displays of emotion. Still, Lorick was her friend and she wanted to be there for him. She sets a comforting hand on the mans shoulder and pushers herself to say something...anything. "I-" she stutters "I'm sorry Lorick. After all that is taking care of Evelyn sets her mind to something that had been bothering her for a long while. Her living situation was inadequate and now that she had money, it was time to see to that. She starts searching for an apartment or home. She didn't care which. What was more important was that it was as close as possible to her current home in the Gray district. That's where she was comfortable and she did not wish to stray far. Beyond that, she wanted somewhere large and isolated, preferably multi-leveled if she could have it. ![]()

![]() Evelyn nods silently at the sight, doing her best to maintain a composed face. Emotions still churned violently in her chest at the sight of the corpse and it was all she could do not to have some manner of outburst. Finally she says in a low, yet strangely emotionless tone "Thank you, Ianril. You've provided me a great deal of closure. You are a good man." She punctuates her final words by placing her hand on the dwarfs shoulder before turning away to leave the place. As she walks away, ideas already run through her head as to her next move... But it was growing late, and she was weary. For now such things would have to wait until tomorrow. Evelyn makes her way home to the Grey District. Along the way, she stops by the Pharsman church to check in with the people there, and to pass along a donation to ease her conscience. She also runs into Lorick there and delivers his portion of Kroft's reward. ======== In her shanty, before turning in for the night, she takes out the deck of cards and tries to conjure the fortune teller's spirit. ![]() With Eel's End burning in the background Evelyn begins to frantically search her former tormentors corpses. First Lamm, then his two henchmen. She ignores gold or trinkets entirely and becomes increasingly desperate as she goes. By the time she finishes turning out the pockets of Ladlzo tears are streaming down her face. Her normal composure is thrown away. She hiccups and stutters as she breaks down entirely. She can't do much besides sob and shakily move to the body of Hookshanks. Something has broken down inside Evelyn and years of bottled up sorrow have come pouring out. Finally, she manages to find her prize. A small, tarnished ring emerges from one of the gnome's belt pouch. Evelyn shouts, a mixture or surprise, joy, and more sobbing hiccups. She clutches tightly to her chest and falls down to her rump, still sobbing. ![]()
