Male Human Cleric 2
![]() Evader takes Varis'(s) hand and shakes it firmly. He it hen states "Greetings and well met to you, Varis, and you Kolfax, my name is Evander and I'm a cleric, to go any more into it than that would probably involve recutting my life story, and your not here for that. And this here is Roscoe, but I think it's best he introduced himself." ![]()

![]() Evander looks around at the others in the room, trying to judge their opinion on the deal. Then he turns back to Panthras and asks "30gp each or all up? how many of these potions are we talking? how far away is this "Callidyrr"? how big is the ship? What sort of a crew will there be? Why does this Lord Cauldyth guy need twelve hundred swords? And what sort of resistance should we be prepared for? if we're supplying a war effort I need to know." then he rests him chin on his hand and stares blankly at Panthras, his mouth hinting at a satisfied grin, as he awaits an answer. ![]()

![]() Evader gives out a sigh as Roscoe hands him the mug of Ale and asks "When you say that you paid, do you mean YOU paid full price, you threw a single copper in his purse so you could say you paid, or did I pay full price." As he asks this he feels for his coin purse, making sure it's still in his possession, then he turns the man who posted the notice and says "So, what's the job?" As he helps himself to a seat at the man' table. ![]()

This all changed one night on the way home from a speech from the Lord(or Lord Protector) of Neverwinter. As the young Evander, at this time twelve, and his parents walked home through the dark streets of a Neverwinter night they were stopped by a man in a thin, loose cloak. "Hello?" his mother asked, "What did you think of the Lord..." he voice trained off as the man drew a dagger from his cloak. His hand shaking the man raised the blade and shouted "You Ruined Me!" as he charged towards Evander's family. When the Guards arrived they found a man and a boy pressed up against either wall of the alley, both crying uncontrollably, and two corpses lying on the ground in pools of their own blood. The next day, when Evander finally stopped crying he explained the event to the guards, himself not sure it had even happened. Evander was half convinced this was all a nightmare, but deep down he knew, "this" was the world he lived in, not one or knights in shining armour, but one of murderer's in the alleys at night. Evander's uncle Darvin took custody of him, and they went together to see his parents murderer hung. When the event was finally over a realisation came over Evander, that the murderer's death did not ease his pain, this "Justice" he had always strived for did nothing to ease the pain of loss. It turned out the murderer had been a merchant that Evander's family had refused to deal with due to a shady background, and it turned out that understanding had no effect on the pain of loss either. Over the next ten years Evander grew up with his Uncle, a renown merchant, with no understanding of children. This was fine for Evander, for he was no longer a child. In his time with Darvin he did two things, learned the arts of negotiation, persuasion and diplomacy, and tried to find an answer to his question, if "justice" didn't help the world become safer, what would. For ten years Evander spent his down time poring through the ancient tomes of every God he could find, certain that one of them would contain the answer to his question. After ten years Evander finally found his answer in the Tomes of the goddess Eldath. Peace, peace was the answer he had so long looked for, not the peace of a military rule, not the peace of fear of punishment, but true peace, peace through happy co-operation. He finally understood that problem was not that his parents were innocent that made him feel loss, but the fact that they had died at all. Later that week, just after his twenty-third birthday Evander left Neverwinter and his Uncle in an effort to bring peace by diplomacy and support peaceful negotiations and compromise rather than violence. It was two years later during negotiations with a goblin tribe near the town of Secomber that Evander was first granted his clerical powers. At the time he was hanging in a rough wooden cage above a large bonfire, while the leader of the tribe watched him be slowly lowered into the fire. Evander pleaded with the Goblin to free him, pleading that killing him would only destroy any hope of peace and that the militaries of larger cities would soon come to help their smaller neighbour. The goblin scoffed at these, saying that none could stand against the might of his tribe, but Evander tried one final plea, 'this is not what you want" he stated, almost in denial that after all this his life would end here. But to his surprise Evander felt a power in the plea, one he had never felt before, unbeknown to him he had just cast command, and the Goblin leader agree'd to his plea, and set him free. Soon Evander, with some help from this new power, had convinced the Goblins that peace with Secomber wasn't such a bad idea after all. Evander knew in a way beyond normal knowledge that this new power was clerical magic, he still does not know which God gave him the powers, but to Evander it is irelevant, he knows why he has the powers, and what he must do with them. He must bring peace to this world, whether it likes it or not.
