Esmeralda comes out of her practical blur with a nod, gathering her surroundings yet again. She'd been in deep thought since they'd left the spider encounter with what to do with Penance, but she wasn't about to point that out. "I'm of the distinct impression that the majority of these things are always trouble. But if you want, I could request Penance investigate before one of us did? Unlike the rest of us, he's expendable by virtue of reconstitution tomorrow, though I'm sure it'll cost me dearly... again." she says with a smirk. She crosses her arms as the Eidolon walks forward, hefting his greatsword.

I am, most definitely, still here. I've just had a really rough patch in my life as of late, in addition to what I told the other games. I don't know why the message didn't go through on this one, however. I thought it had. Basically it was a lot of college anxiety, divorce, depression and a bit of unneccesary "Father breaking my computer" shenanigans... Though that said! The new computer is awesome and I'm back.

The sound following it was... something, but she wasn't able to see the blow land, and therefore, wasn't actually sure if it had done any damage. Certainly sounded that way, however.

As the spiders come out, Esmeralda quickly directs Penance towards them by pointing her finger towards the sound of combat. "A bug problem this time. Glad you can hit those, yeah?" she says with a smirk. As he passes her she touches him with a guidance spell, followed with, "It's a shame I can't enlarge you on these stairs." she claims. Guidance on Penance A resounding, deep "Hmm..." is heard as Penance goes upstairs and passes her, dragging his sword the length of the way. Finally once he gets to the top, he 2 hands the enormous sword and brings it down on the second spider. Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 9 Unfortunately his lack of enthusiasm is palpable.

Useless again!" she says with a chuckle. "Well... if we don't want to deal with swarms, we could atleast check somewhere else in this damnable pillar of filth, no? It's not like this is the only path."

She asks as she strolls into the room with penance close behind her, after realizing the bracelet was worthless given present circumstances. "Right... That aside, where to now?" Esmeralda asks as she looks around.

In a deep, rumbling baritone, Penance audibly says "M'Lady, they've fled." at which point Esmeralda ceases her running, and begins to walk back, eventually coming to the pool to watch the people come out of the water. "Thank you penance." is all she says as she walks by the Eidolon, and it begins to follow her again. "Seems we wiggled our way out of this one, didn't we? As far as assault magics are concerned, I have none, and I'm dreadfully sorry for that." she explains.

Fortunately for penance, at the sound of everyone wanting to leave, Esmeralda was easily able to order the creature to flee as early as possible as she fled as well through their link. At this point the both of them were just primarily focused on running away as fast as physically possible.

Penance delays "Right. I'll see what I can find. Be careful!" she says as she turns on her heels (somewhat literally) and flees up the stairs as far as she's able to go. "If penance is injured beyond repair, I may come back worse for wear." she points out. "Though we'd all do well to run!" she says as she makes her way up the stairs. Esmeralda will proceed to make her way as far as she can to get as many alchemist fire as she can. I'm not sure where the bodies are, or how long it'll take to get them." Aard if you could, could you move me max distance? I'm not sure whether the squares are 10 feet or 5, and I also don't know how far away a corpse is D:

"My best idea is to increase penance's size and let the girth of his sword do the work." she points out.

A damn shame, that..." she says as she drags her hand along the wounded, sizzling skin within his cloak. She rubs her fingers quickly and splashes some water on them to stop the acid, however, before it can sear her fingers. "Strange creatures, were they not?" she asks, looking to the rest of them. "Penance is good to keep going, otherwise I would unsummon him. I could also heal him, but he's yet to take a substantial blow... and I've also yet to see someone give true reason for him to release his bandages." she says with a wry smile. Kascio: You're fully aware that Penance is capable of not only doubling in size, but also gaining a magical shield. Wounded he may be, but useless he is far from being.

Immediately, Penance raises his bastard sword, swinging it down and allowing the weight of his weapon to do the bulk of the damage. Did it hit, she wondered? These slimy things were so watery she could hardly tell.

Sighing with a bit of daunt in her tone, Esmeralda follows them, with Penance behind her in the main back. She'll opt for the middle, if she can help it. Looking at the preserved things, however, she can't help but detect magic. With a soft tone under her voice, she extends a finger in the direction and starts to look around.

Esmeralda curts a smile as the group begins to put together the code. "I don't see what silence would have to do with wrath, but I've yet to help in the solving of said puzzles, so I know little." she points out. "What do you suppose solving this one does? "If that's the case, what we're looking for is likely inside, and apparently the tower girls were too foolish to actually access it, fortunately." she says with a grin as Penance nears the group dragging his sword across the ground.

With a smirk, however, she somewhat tilts her head and places a hand on her hip. "Frankly speaking, my only vice is that I'm avaricious, and it shows in my Eidolon. If you want the scientific explanation, you're able to take more hits than this fragile, yet delicate, lanky body of mine. Hence the jokingly placed adjective." With a pause, she continues. "Is that enough to appease you?"

Esmeralda lost what little grin she had as she walked into the room with them and took note of the commotion. "Walls are one thing, but this place is pretty ruined, isn't it?" she asks, looking towards Penance, who shrugs. Looking back to the rest of them, she smirks. "If these are all over the place, it'd be best to just avoid walls altogether, or at the least prod our way through the rest of the place." she states as she receives a gold from her pouch. "Penance" The enormous shrouded Eidolon looks to her with above-average enthusiasm in it's red eyes. "Take that enormous sword of yours and tap around as we traverse forward. If we make it out of this reasonably enough, there's another gold in it for you." she explains. "Though, that depends on whether we still want to be stealthy. I for one, do not want to fall through a floor... but then again, with my locale in regards to the rest of you unfortunate meaty types during a scuffle, I don't much have to worry about that. So what have you?" she asks the rest of the party.

With her Eidolon resummoned and it's sword nicely placed back in it's appropriate hands, Esmeralda ventures with the rest of them. However, as the majority of what seemed valuable has been looted from the rooms so far, she abstains from really giving any of them a closer look, save for the large statue of the unknown figure. She gives it, at best, a courtesy glance, however, as she knows next to nothing about historical significance and seems more worried about what kind of price it could fetch. Unfortunately, again, it seems far too large and far too heavy to be concerned with, but she makes a mental note of it all the same while following the rest of the group silently.

As penance Dissipates in the distance, Esmeralda looks to the rest of them as she seems to remember something of rather astute importance. "One of you is going to have to catch his weapon before I let him fully dissipate. There's no sense in going over to grab it if he can just gently toss it, but the thing is awfully bulky." she points as she whispers the order in Infernal. "Actually I'm foolish. He can merely toss it whilst it's bandaged. Shouldn't hurt too much..." she says as she braces to catch the weapon. Seeing them pulled up nicely, Esmeralda tosses the coin to penance, who catches it with a swift grab, turning around and placing it in his pouch. With a smirk, Esmeralda says "Payment for Service..." she explains. "And Kascio, don't worry about it." she says with a chuckle.

As she watches Dareon fall over, Esmeralda looks back towards penance and shrugs. "Fairly certain the big lug can do better than that, at least." she explains. "Wonder why they even have this here, don't you?" she asks, looking at the others. "Seems a bit treacherous. The rat girls pretty capable on their feet or something?" she asks, trying to learn as much as possible.

I imagine that it works. There are eidolon only heal spells that act like cure spells but infernal healing I'm fairly certain works. The only reason summoner gets eidolon specific heal spells is because giving them cure and whatnot would be broken.

At the very least, I've got shield, and I'll likely take mage armor in the future. Essentially I'll have an AC of 19. Honestly Mage Armor would have been a better choice, but Esmeralda is going to avoid combat as much as she can when it breaks out as she is extremely frail. She's likely to enlarge Penance and then get the hell out of the way, knowing what she needs to by communicating with her Eidolon or just listening in general. I chose Shield because I was worried about magic missile, honestly. Penance is the exact opposite of her, however, and I'll be making it a point to keep him alive with Infernal healing and whatever else is necessary. It can help everyone else out too. I'd love to turn it into a wand, but I'm just as likely to take to brewing potions to help everyone else out, or I would, if Dareon wasn't already an Alchemist. I'll probably take to craft wand when I can get that, though, assuming I don't find something else. Honestly I'm just focused on keeping Esmeralda alive.

Awaiting her turn, Esmeralda cringes. She'd not been used to this sort of... display of dexterity in her travels. Where she had Charisma and Penance's brute strength, she certainly lacked in grace, that was for certain, and she was far from confident in traversing the expanse. The fall was also a rather... prominent deterrent. Awaiting her turn with the ring, however, she admired it for a moment, enjoying the look of it and knowing it was worth something. Alas, she had to share. With that thought in mind, she turned to her Eidolon. "Penance, you'll be last. Worse comes to worse I can just summon you from the aether again and pay you for the mess up... that said, don't mess up." she says as she points to the ring. Taking a deep breath, she does what she can to cross the bridge. Provided she's about to fall, Penance will reach out to grab her as well, like a good Eidolon. Tapping herself on the center of her chest, she traces a rune about it that glows a soft blue.
