Eran turns to Balthus, replying "I prefer to let others do what they prefer, and simply observe. Viewing the entire scene objectively is easiest when you are not in it."
Eran looks about for some indication of what is on the menu, be it a signboard or a menu on a table.

"Perhaps. But where is Mr Samuel to ask?" he asks, the question loaded.
"The Order of Tears helps law enforcement, but oddly enough Mr Samuel was bothered by their arrival. They are the ones with the masks. There is probably something about this case he doesnt want them to find out"
"Hmm, I'm thinking it could either be the Order of Tears, likely since we ran into them once already. Failing that, it could be the hirelings of other noble houses or bounty hunters."

Breaking the silence, Eran asks "So... what did everyone find out? I fear i found out little other than bar patrons are universally rowdy."
Team 1: "Certainly."
team 1: "Hmm, certainly bears mentioning that the bars are, without exception, rowdier than usual."
Team 1: "I agree."
Team 1: Is there even still a team or is it just me? "Ugh, I am wasting my time here." Eran says, annoyed as he takes his leave of the immediate area and allows them to beat each other.
team 1: "And every man has got to have his fellow man's back when there are murderers about."
Team 1: "Is this real life?" Eran asks. "I feel like this should be a comedy play."
Team 1: Eran will appraise his surroundings, looking for anything of note.
away team 1: "Sounds like a good plan. I won't intrude much, I was planning on being the eyes of the operation. But a game of chance doesn't sound like a bad idea."
"No preferences here."
"Ready to head out, Ethan? Where to first? Also, let me know if I am interfering with your methods of gathering information. I am content to observe from a distance."
I believe Eran was going to follow Ethan and observe while he did the talking. and be there to back him up in case of a scuffle.
Eran stays the night and wakes up in the morning, eager to get done fresh air and hopefully, fresh insights.
"I can go with you, Ethan."
"I suppose. I'm not one to talk to people too much, but I will go with someone."
"It really doesn't seem like something a run of the mill gang would do."
"The pattern is murky, but there is a pattern there. That cannot be discounted. Multiple people working in concert seems the most likely, i believe it may have been a cult. I am not entirely unconvinced that a religion is not involved. I had hoped the dossiers would provide more intimate personal information regarding the victims, but perhaps that is what we should set out to retrieve."
"The next month is dedicated to Rovagug, the destroyer. Who, if anyone, would they go after for that time? Cultists? After that comes Lamashan. If they are demon worshipers, then that might be the month they have been building up for.... ALTHOUGH, they might be building up for Rova instead, which means our time frame may be quite small. I have the information, but I am not sure how to act on it. Any ideas?" the inquisitive asks of the others.
"Hmm, it seems there is the beginning of a pattern here. The paladin was murdered in the month of Sarenith, which is associated with the god Sarenrae. The merchant and judge were murdered in the month dedicated to Abadar. These victims seem to be of the stereotypical occupations of worshipers of those gods." Eran says, his eyes seeming to look through the documents. "I wager that if we looked harder into the lives of the other victims, we would find corroborating connections." In response to Brie's question, Eran says, "I am not aware of any holy days associated with the date of the murders, however... the first murder did occur during the New Year celebrations."
Eran considers what he believes to be the most likely connection: religion, particularly one who is aligned with or fancies themselves aligned with demons or devils.
Eran, not being much of one for face-to-face investigation, will mill about town doing little of note. He simply wants to get out of the house for a bit, pick up some food, hear the news from the street criers. He returns in the early evening, anxious to get his hands on the dossiers he asked for.
Eran asks Mr Samuel once more about possibly getting some dossiers on the victims so that he may look for patterns.
"I am Eran." the tattooed man answers simply and politely. I look about to see if this is a home or more of an inn. I am looking for personal effects and such that would mark it as more of a private home as opposed to a public residence. Trying to see if we are squatting or if this is some sort of safe-house.
Eran follows Mr. Samuel to the safehouse, and places his starknives on the rack before sitting at the table.

"Perhaps if you could have a dossier drawn up on each victim so far, it would help me find connections that could lead us in the direction of the killer or killers." Eran says hopefully.
"I don't have one on me. Maybe we can swing by a bookstore later."
fine either way. i did have one or two people before who typed accents and it was nigh-impossible to read. your example doesnt seem too extreme.
"You don't find them interesting? It is a relatively popular genre of book. Also, when such things come to light, it is all the local people can talk about for days. That alone proves that it is interesting, as it garners the interest of many. I personally find it interesting as it is a puzzle to be solved." Eran looks to Samuel. "Who was the victim? Any suspects or other details?"
"Hmm, murder mystery. Delightful. Coupled with the possibility of becoming ingratiated into a noble house upon success and little foreseeable effect upon failure. I will render assistance."
"So, Mr. Caedmon... What was the purpose for sending the invites?" Eran says inquisitively, and with no hint of malice.
Ah I thought it was a partial collapse amd their screams meant they were still alive
