Paracountess,

I am overjoyed that you managed to escape the machinations of TD, and yet I must confess you have been changed by the experience, and not for the better. If I may speak true, you seem to have become overwhelmed by a paranoid delusion which exceed even your old enemy's tangled thoughts. Please accept my regretful resignation from your service, effective immediately. May you find not what you seek, but what you truly need, in this life or the next.

Man, this chick has always been crazy. Torch loaned me out to her more often than not over the years and she's no weirder than she used to be.

But what do I know? Mammals are all pretty nuts in my opinion.

Feh.

At least you're honest.

Aiight, let's do this thing.

What is this "quality" of which you speak?

After Rivalry's End:
Should anyone inquire as to Ebonfeather's opinion on the matter, he clears his throat, spits on the ground--no mean feat for a beaked creature--and shrugs. "Figures. Scorched bastard."

I'm just saying that sending Pathfinders into harm's way and asking them to do morally questionable things is hardly something that Sheila Heidmarch came up with. The complaints about her seem, well, odd, since similar complaints aren't so vociferously voiced (her death has been called for in just the last few posts) against the other venture-captains who act pretty much identically, or against the faction heads, who frequently ask for robbery, torture, murder, and even corpse mutilation.

Yes, you're implying that I dislike her because she's female, I get it.

But while the tasks themselves may not be that different, I feel that the way the character is written makes her seem actively evil.

And so sometimes I post as my Shadow Lodge character about how evil she is. Because that is his measured opinion as a member of "Pathfinders Local 401" and someone who has gotten screwed on several of her missions. And because it's funny.

Also, let's not overlook that her missions are, on average, significantly more deadly than missions assigned to us over, say, the four years before she become a constant presence in our lives.

What did she do? I must have missed that scenario.

Well, in

Race for the Runecarved Key:
she demonstrated that she'll do whatever it takes to get what she wants, as long as she can just have Pathfinders do it for her.

In

Race for the Runcarved Key II:
she basically dumped a bunch of Pathfinders in a hell dimension and said "Good luck!"

In

Wrath's Shadow:
she couldn't even be bothered to meet us in person before sending us off on a total suicide mission.

In several cases she's basically said, "Please don't get killed, because that would make me look bad," and meant it.

And after reading her biography in

Shattered Star:
one is left wondering if Canayven Heidmarch is even Canayven Heidmarch anymore.

So I'm holding out hope that

in the season finale:
the risen Runelord somehow possesses her body and we get to kill it.

The Shadow Lodge isn't corrupt, that's just the propaganda spread by the establishment who doesn't want us to be unionized. Yeah, there was that shenanigans a few years ago, but Torch has the situation well in hand, and really, that just demonstrated the need for a sanctioned union to handle employee grievances, don't you think?

As long as you meet him during bath time, when you can see everything... My monk still has nightmares about that.
