Noise is a big problem not only for us as GMs and Players of PFS but also for those other gamers in the shop/venue. I myself have difficulty with hearing anyway. I sit close to the Gm or when Gm-ing I ask the players to sit closer. I also bring a thick "Celtic" blanket/throw to put on the table under the mats, it helps absorb some of the noise. We've experimented with carpet tiles and sound dampener foam that can be mounted to wooden frames and set as a separator between major areas of play...With the venues permission this worked well for us all, but we had no where to store it between game days. once we find a way to store our sound wall or mount the panels to the walls we will be in good shape. we also are working on getting carpet samples to cover some walls in a mosaic of the store's colors to help all the gamers out. Any of these you can suggest and see what the venue owner/operator may allow. For us, it is a work in progress with no definite answer...

I think this is a common problem in PFS because a lot of us play in shared spaces.

I usually try to sit close to the GM. I also prefer to sit with my back to the MTG players. Even if that puts me closer to them, I find that if I cup my ears I can hear the GM better.

You can try to talk to the store about scheduling PFS at a different time, but sometimes you are stuck with the schedule they give you.

In short, you aren't alone.

I loved playing and GM-ing Accursed Halls. My first time through Playing my necro wizard on his first game managed to control a specific needed npc and got us through the wight encounter without using the item that is made for combating the wight somewhere else in the scenario. This was during the lvl1 build having 1 game under my belt at the time. since having played and running this I get to see players freak out like this often IF they haven't found the other necessary things to conquer it either in scenario or by build. In a later level a Mi-go eviscerated a friend of mine with famous last words, "use acrobatics to to move past and flank"... "Wait a CR 8 creature in this level" was yelled when someone discovered the stats. The larger creatures or specific creatures can get you if your are not prepared, your party isn't melding together, or haven't found the necessary items (mostly from not looking or poor perception. These challenges though are good if you work together getting through them gives you player experience as well as character game experience. Yes all my characters go through lvl 1 build and at least 1 test run in game play.

As a GM I love stories like this.

As a player, not so much.

From the 5.0 guide to organized Play "Remember: the goal of replay is to make sure fun gaming happens, not to remove the fun from gaming.
There are two exceptions to these rules. All Tier 1 scenarios
and Tier 1–2 sanctioned modules are available for unlimited
replay with a 1st-level character for credit. The sanctioned
modules may also be played with a 2nd-level character
once for credit. GMs may receive another Chronicle sheet
each time they run one of the Tier 1 scenarios or Tier 1–2
sanctioned modules, but may only apply a Chronicle sheet
to one 2nd-level character per adventure."

Creating this thread for specifically spell related questions. After searching through so many other posts of other topics, spell questions are continually being asked.
The answer I'm looking for I haven't found...A spell-caster prepares her spells for an hour in the morning, during the adventure the spell pouch is destroyed, making the PC unable to prepare more spells, Can the memorized spells still be cast throughout the day? This was brought after an adventure where the PC and GM both forgot the spell pouch was destroyed. Thinking afterward I would assume the memorized spells were already prepared so no need for the pouch until following day. Has anone found any documentation in either direction?

if you have Hero Lab the new Factions are posted in the traits and feats sections. Therefore if they have the new factions there must be a list somewhere

As far as newer player's perspective if someone regularly drops from being in a game that the GM is newer and trying to get experience running the game and the players are well experienced at playing and running, The newer player is going to not want to play as much feeling the game will be cancelled and they come out for no reason. the newer GM is not going to get the experience needed to run games as smoothly and not learn from there mistakes because of the more experienced players dropping out. Remember no matter how good you are there is always someone Better and no matter how bad you are there is someone worse. So we need to keep the balance and help the "inexperienced" GMs learn better to prep and give them tips on how to prep. Running cold is sometime the only option but should be avoided. Another example of running cold is when a new module comes out and it is the first run for anyone in your group, you;ve planned to run it the week it is released, everyone shows up but the module didn't arrive until the day of and the GM has read it once through saying this would be ok to run. Is this one you'd Drop from and make it where no one has a chance to try to new Mod?

I am new to GM-ing PFS but I try my hardest to run what I've already played and had a chance to read at very least once. I've found some of the newer scenarios (season5) lacking stat blocks that are contained within the earlier Seasons. I do my best to keep things in order with custom prints from the books to make the cardboard NPCs, Doorways, Items, and treasures to be handed out as needed and help me keep track of what agendas are being worked on.(ie a book needed to be placed in a caravan so I printed a book icon on cardboard for the PCs to be handed and the caravan and person watching it was also made into the scene.) Sadly even after reading the entire scenario I never could find what set off certain items in the game. Which is why I prefer having played it before I GM it. For some of us it seems no matter how much we read these scenarios typos also throw us when our intelligent brains sometimes don't catch the typo until game is being played and a PC asks a question that is answered weird from the typo. As for the other books in the game I use PDFs or carry all my books with me for such a reason as having to find the stats during game play.
