Hi,

I have a Starfinder core book with bad binding. I bought it last September 2017, it wasn’t from Paizo.
The book sat on my shelf until April 2018 I recently got a group together to GM Dead Suns. That's when I discovered the bad binding. It won't last much longer.
I emailed the seller and no response. I emailed Paizo customer service address twice with photos on April 26th and May 9th and haven't received a reply. I checked all my email buckets to be sure.

Is there a different email address I should use?

BTW, I have all the Starfinder books and the rest are solid, quality products as usual.

Regardless of the outcome I appreciate any assistance and thank you for your time.

Loren

Thanks again to everyone in my game tonight!

You were all awesome at your roles, and I really enjoyed DMing it!

Thanks especially "Professor" for your opening narration. It was perfect for setting the tone.

And, "Marjoline", (sorry I didn't get any of your real names), has there ever been a better last line to a game than "I'm going to go back to France and disappoint the Nazis."

Thanks, everyone, you were all awesome!

They was a lot of fun! We just locked the evil den there 2 weeks ago. Why are we going down there again?

Oh, that's right, I lost 20 yrs. Oh well, at least I missed the Great Depression.

Thank you everyone! That was a nail biter for sure! It was...A blast!

The mission: Rescue/kidnap Christopher Backlun from the Cult of Jayne. Keep it quiet.
So at the Cultist's compound, Janella and a cultist Gunfighter got into a massive gunfight.
He (Edgar) got the jump on her. In his defense, she started it. Both of them are dual pistol weilders. He shot her up bad. Her crew had to pile on to Edgar to save her.
Meanwhile the Cult leader, Lady Cynthia scampered outta there. She tried to use her psychic powers on Janella. Lady Cynthia realized her error. Our Big Damn Heroes shot her up, almost killed her. Only luck saved her.
More gunfire, grenades and finally Babe herself joined the fight. Babe tried to come in low, but it wasn't enough.
The Guard tower shot a SAM at Babe. Everyone at the table held their breath...The Pilot attempted a dodge...and didn't make it. Bam! The missile glanced off the hull, minor damage only. The table exhaled and continued fighting.
The fighting inside the Main house was winding down.
Outside, Babe was pounding the ground units, causing them to scatter.
The SAM operator frantically tried to reload as quickly as possible.
Our pilot and the SAM guy were at eye level 30 feet above ground. The pilot swung Babe around and slapped the tower. Down it went.
Babe was maneuvered so close to the front door it was almost a vacuum seal.
The trussed up Christopher was hogtied and tossed into the cargo bay and away they went. Oh yeah, When they flew away, they blasted the engines at full burn through the front door. The main house (mansion) exploded.

Lady Cynthia escaped. She knows who they are. The entire Cult of Jayne now knows too. It's that same ship that stopped the bombing of Canton.

Revenge!

Tyrone is back on the ship sick.

Just a word 'o advice for next time, Ty: avoid the seafood when the nearest sea is twenty million miles away..

Well...When they said it was imported, Ty thought that meant it was fancy.

True, Babe's name is now "Saffron." She is named after Captain Bleak's dearly departed wife.
Mrs. Saffron Bleak, died in a mysterious shuttle accident. There was no mortal remains, so they surmise her death was quick and painless.

Captain Bleak mourned her loss hard for many years. But that's all in the past.

It is a new era for the crew of Saffron. You have earned a name for yourselves among the Alliance Navy as a reliable ship. They throw good work your way. You haven't lived paycheck to paycheck for a long time. Saffron purrs like she was new again.

Good times. :-)

Anyone interested in playing Firefly (Deadlands rules) during the banquet? Babe and her crew are still flyin'!
Reply in this thread if you are interested and we will figure out the specifics as we go.

To all of the crew of the swift ox class freighter "Saffron", thank you!
You all accepted a shady mission for the Alliance that most certainly meant Reaver encounters.
It was a wild ride.
Our pilot barrel rolled our freighter like it was a nimble fighter jet. She put our freighter between one of our exposed shuttles and the Reaver ship. That action saved the shuttle and her crew.
Ty, opening the airlock on that shuttle to take shots at the grapple cable stuck in Saffron's hull.
The Captain barely piloting the othet shuttle to safety with no reao skill. AOh and the captain came dressed in full Browncoat regalia! Outstanding!
There is so much more to report that I would fill up this chatroom.
Thanks everyone, I loved GMing And watching you play this all out under pressure. (-:

Attention!
Firefly is in Cascadia 6!

Location Update!
Looking at the schedule for Sunday, Evergreen rooms are our best shot. Room 2,3 or 4. I will find one early and Homestead. I'm excited to see everybody!
If there was is any complications I will update immediately. Thanks for your patience. :-)

In regards to location of Firefly. I am on the look out for a room. If any of you have the perfect spot, speak up. We will have a better lay of the land later.
I can't wait to see our Big Damn Heroes in action!

Yeah, looks like a crew of five so far. That can work just fine. That leaves us with 3 slots of wiggle room.

Sorry we have conflicting schedules. Convention scheduling is like herding cats into a bath tub.

Deadlands Classic: Players Guide is correct. Make sure its the last edition.

Sorry to hesr thst sarvei.

Prisoner six, welcome aboard.

Sunday Sunday Sunday Night!

Talking to everyone, Sunday evening looks best for most people.

Lets get there (do be determined) by 8:30PM and hit the ground running by 9PM or earlier.
System: Deadlands Classic. Half the crew knows the system well, so don't worry. Characters provided. Bring lots o' dice.

We have a full crew. If anyone needs to back out, please send us a wave. That way we can hopefully find a replacement.

Who's ready to be a Big Damn Hero?!

I will update post lottery schedule too.

Phoenyx, will be joining the crew.

Just an FYI for the new players. We don't use the Firefly or Serenity Cortex system. We use Classic Deadlands. It is more fun than it has a right to be.
Don't worry about knowing the system.

Ok "Sarvei taeno" is a confirmed crewman. Sarvei taeno will be our pilot.
Hopefully this pilot won't crash the ship, like two episodes ago.

Ok, it wasn't quite the pilot's fault. Something planet side managed to override ship functions and activate the "land lock" while Babe was in orbit...

As for what time/day for the game. I know for sure that two of the players on the list aren't attending the banquet. Would that be a good time for most people?

Obviously, scheduling Firefly will have to fit the majority of schedules not a unanimous vote.

Hi,
We will be missing some regular crew this year. No M or C unfortunately. Right now it looks like 6 players out of 8 characters.
If we have to, we can play Firefly with 6 players just fine.

ylphryx
Pat
Pall
Sarvei taeno
Karl Bob
Jas

These are the available characters. If you have a preference, let me know. All are ready for action regardless of career.
Doctor
Scientist
Captain
Engineer
Pilot
Swindler

The Muscle (ylphryx )
Hired Gun (Pat)

Are you ready to be a Big Damn Hero?

I will be attending PaizoCon 2015. I want to run Firefly again. Is there anyone out there interested in joining me?

I will get after mearrin69 about the group email. He has been really busy lately, probably is unaware of the time blur. (-:
The store is Northwest Hobbies and Games in Vancouver, WA.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Apparently, orange doesn't fly off the shipyard shelves. They had an abundance of it. The paint was very old. The coverage varied in tone and hue. It covered the blue primer well. That's all that mattered.

Now that Babe is repaired and upgraded she needs a new name.

Captain Bleak wasn't enthusiastic about renaming her. She had been called Babe for 10 years.

Captain Bleak and his wife bought Babe together. He had the cash and she the business savvy. Babe was to be the first of many in their stable.
But times got tough faster than expected.
Eventually their poor financial situation forced them to spend more time apart. He continued moving freight. She took the shuttle and got them business. They were barely one step ahead of the bank. He missed her terribly.

In one of her regular waves she was excited about a new opportunity. Unfortunately, the wave connection was full of static. The worst he ever saw. She smiled and said it could wait until she returned home.
She never made it back home...

A heartless Bureaucrat, with a cold report in hand delivered the bad news. The shuttle had been destroyed. It had been fired upon by an unknown vessel. Only tiny fragments of the shuttle were found. Her body had been vaporized.
For a long time after that, the widower Bleak lived up to his name. He did all kinds of bad things.
But that's all in the past. Now he is out of debt, his ship is in prime condition and his crew is fat and sassy.
The only thing missing is his dearly departed wife. But he knows she isn't dead if he always remembers her. So it is only fitting that he renames the ship after her, "Saffron."

The Alliance put on a good show for Niska's boys. Their ship was barely in sensor range. The Gas Giant was the perfect stage. It mucked up the ship's goshi civilian grade sensors. Niska's boys didn't hang around after the show. Alliance cruisers are famous for shoot first and maybe ask questions later.

Babe was badly banged up.
When you stumbled upon a damaged robot ship with a full cargo hold...it was a Salvager's dream.
Until the Feds, Niska and Shen Yu got involved.

Wow, What a game! Espionage, bluffing, trickery and plans within plans.
The good news is, Niska fixed Babe and now thinks you are all dead at the hands of the Alliance.
The bad news is, Babe is painted Orange and the Alliance likes you.
You guys were great! I was truly, delightfully surprised many times by your course of action.
Thank you,so much for the participation and entertainment!

Thanks, Mike! We miss you.

We are meeting at the Everett room. Game starts at 7pm. There are 4 characters available. First come, first serve. Word is spreading quickly about the open slots.

We are shootin' for 7pm on Friday, start time. There are still open seats. Characters are provided. Bring dice, lots of them.

We have openings in our Friday night Firefly game. Reply to this post if you are interested. Only Big Damn Heroes need apply.

Pat Luther wrote:

That said, if that's the only time everyone else can make it, I'll still be there.

I'm sure Continuity will be a great game, and I'm equally sure they'll find someone to take my place should I be in another 'verse with the crew of a Swift Ox freighter.

I haven't heard from anyone else on the timing. If we need to move it to Friday evening, I'm good with it.

I have a game Friday: "02:00 PM – 04:00 PM Choose Your Own Character Creation Adventure"

Last Con we played Saturday night and it worked out fine. Does that work for the majority of the crew again this year?
Any preferences?

Folks can't tell the difference between them fancy brand names and your knock offs...Unless your "silk" suit gets wet.
Or if you look at them too long. They are the fanciest Silck Suits that can be mass produced from the border world of Beaumonde.

I'm doing well, thanks. It is good to hear from you and everyone else too. (-:

This wave is for the crew of the Swift Ox, tramp freighter "Babe."

I will be at PaizoCon 2014 and would love to GM another game of Firefly.
Who is up for it? It would be shiny if I could get last years crew together again. Let me know if you are interested.

Last we left our heroes, their ship is damaged and the crew is trying to figure out if they are on the run? Sounds like fun. (-:

Hi Everyone!
Its great to see our regular group are going to be there. (-:

I wanna play CoC, Metamorphosis Alpha, X-Wing, Fiasco, Gloom and more!
I'm also looking for other different pick up games too. If you guys hear of anything interesting, let me know.

Firefly is a go. Hopefully we can get the same crew together again. We’re still flying.

RECAP 2 of 2.
Please add your exploits or corrections to the thread. Great game everyone! You all make it a blast to GM Firefly!

Back on the ship: Thad and Quin were able to reach the Mule crew using personal communicators but the responses were gibberish. On the last attempt they heard gunfire and profanities in the background.
Thad and Quin jumped to action. They raided Tyrone's weapons locker, err.. bunk and grabbed all the weapons the could carry. Fortunately all the guns were loaded.
Thad, Quin, and Mr. Wiggles hastily piled into the shuttle "Jinwu" and rocketed to the mine.
Jinwu barely fit in the mine shaft. Incredibly difficult rolls were made to not crash and burn. Some miners suffered terminal collateral damage as the shuttle flew through them down the mine shaft.
When Jinwu reached the cave, Quin scanned the area and the hypersonic effect was easy to detect. Upon reaching the Mule, the scene was a bit overwhelming.

The outnumbered Smith was being dragged out of the mule just as Ty and Clem came back on line. They rescued Smith from the horde and started fightin together. But escape using the Mule was impossible. Earlier when Smith was drivin' and shootin under the influence (hypersonic feedback) he crashed Francis into a formidable stalagmite. The Mule could barely stay afloat.

Undaunted, Thad and Quin (hearing protection in place) exited Jinwu's ramp, guns blazin. Quin quickly realized shootin was not his forte (Ty makes it look so easy) and gave up shootin. But not before a dirty look from Thad.
The next initiative, Thad pulled the Black Joker. In game terms this is the worst thing that can happen.
All the Miners in unison turned their attention to Thad and charged. Quin dropped his gun and hightailed up the ramp before Thad could even react. Thad soon followed. Thad jumped into the cockpit. (Quin was already under the co-pilot dashboard tearing apart a communications console.) All you could see was Quin's feet.
Thad maneuvered Jinwu towards the trapped Mule crew and plowed through the miners. That thinned the herd mightily.
Thad swung a shuttle door around to the trapped crew.
Quin finished tinkering with the Comm center and sent out a short range jammer to stop hypersonic attack. With this brief respite, the Mule crew staggered onto Jinwu. But not before they set the mules guidance control for the source of trouble and shoved it off the cliff.

Thad flew Jinwu out of the mine shaft and barely didn't crash. There were many Poker Chips flying into the pot to make this happen. It was close. Upon reaching Babe the crew hastily boarded and were relieved to discover the mule wasn't sacrificed in vain, the landlock was gone.
It took a combined effort of Thad, Quinton and Santana to get the ship airborne again.
The Pescaline D was lobbed out an airlock towards the town and the Babe beat a hasty retreat.

BTW, It is mentioned in the specs of "Babe" that the engines are way overpowered for the design, but this is one of those times that was necessary.

So what is the fallout from this latest adventure? Stay tuned... Things get complicated.

RECAP 1 of 2.
I tried to keep it short, but you people make that impossible...In a good way! A lot more was done by everyone. Please add your exploits or corrections to the thread. Great game everyone! You all make it a blast to GM Firefly!

You picked up an extra an unwelcome passenger at Higgins Moon. A Mr. Smith, Blue Sun security specialist. For some reason, (see: Big Mouth Hindrance) Blue Sun thinks you all need a babysitter. But luckily there was enough Blue Sun trust remaining to hire you for another job.
The Pescaline D was to be picked up at the Space Bazaar and delivered to the New Salem mining colony. Easy Peasy.
At the Space Bazaar you met the slimy little business man Patrick Duxberry and his colorful gang. Through an inebriated Cockney accent, he informed you that the medication was locked away in a shipping container with a possible monster. You discovered that the monster was merely a giant bug. Hilarity ensued.
After rounding up the crew and Mr Smith (who was carrying a mysterious case) you departed The Space Bazaar with the medicine.

Upon arriving at the planet, you contacted their beacon for a flight plan. A minute later somehow... some unfathomable way, a landlock was put on Babe while you were in the atmosphere. This caused the engines to power down and Babe fell like a rock.
Thad and Santana pulled Babe back together just in time to make a hard landing. Captain Bleak was pissed.
After the dust settled, Smith was blamed for this mishap. It was theorized that his mysterious case was the source for the landlock and crash. The crew opened the case without permission or Smith's presence. Turned out to be a cat carrier. Smith's terrified cat [ Mr. Wiggles] escaped in a blur. The crew assumed the cat was a biological carrier for something evil. Possible a bug egg. Thad and Quin stayed on the ship to round up the cat for study. It was to be scanned, poked and prodded. In the end, Mr. Wiggles is declared clean. He is a happy cat and wants to join the crew.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Crew and Smith found the real source for the landlock. Through a godlike engineering roll of 53, Santana tracked the signal to the center of the mine. (Really, the hand held scanner doesn't have that range. But the man rolled a 53, I can't short change it.)

The Mule "Francis" was driven down the expansive mine shaft. They drove by many confused and exhausted miners. The main cave was an expansive hole that could fit a starship. The signal trace was bouncing all over the place. But it was here somewhere for sure. Santana tightened the scan and doing so, he accidentally tripped a hypersonic attack. The effect was a piercing sound that shattered all thoughts and sense of Self. Everyone slumped over and started foaming and bleeding from the eyes, ears and mouth. Smith made a Quickness roll and put his special ear plug filters in. However, even with the filters in place, Smith was getting feedback from the attack and his reactions were slowed. He attempted to turn the Mule around for a hasty retreat. That's when the Miners swarmed the Mule with picks, shovels and laser diggers. Smith went on the offensive, neutralizing as many miners as possible. But it wasn't enough. More were coming.

If you need gaming space, we have the Aberdeen room. same location as Star Trek.

It will be great to see you again!

I played the bridge crew and it was sooo easy. To start with, I did the Kirk always-looking-for-a-fight diplomacy.
But I also used all the characters personalities in the scene.
Spock using Uhura's communication skills outmaneuvered Kirk and disarmed the situation before it could reach Defcon: "Ripped Shirt!"
Kirk wanted to be annoyed at them... But then he realized they saved him from mountains of paperwork.
Yeah, that's why they did it. :-/

I'm up for fighting the worm. Humanity must be defended against this dreadful abomination. True to form, these worms burrow at the slightest hint of trouble.
Just tell me when and where!

We will start at 9 PM. Its possible you all won't need Doctorin' right away.

<<< I will be playing Kyra.
She is the Cleric from the original iconics. I've played Kyra from 1st level up. Most notably through the entire Rise of the Runelords. I have always played her like a superhero. She charges into battle with everyone else. She heals too. (-:

I have a game "01:00 PM – 06:00 PM/Olympia Room/The Throne of Azlant"

How about a start time of Saturday @ 8:00 PM? Does that work for the majority of the crew?

Kyra

This wave is for "Dark Sasha" and "Jake in the Grass." If you are still looking for work, welcome to the crew.
DS, you are the doctor: "Clemencia Welford" She is a "Doctor without Borders" personality. She has a history of stirring up trouble on Border and Rim worlds. She dismisses the Locals superstitions in favor of treating people. Running from pitchfork and torch mobs is almost her signature. But at least they are healthy mobs, right?

JitG you are the Mechanic: "Santana Murtaugh" Classic ships engineer type. But you have one hiccup. You're alcoholic father pays for a cabin on this ship too. The Captain looks to you when Dad acts up. You dread the Captain's angry bellow of "Murtaugh!" It means you broke the ship or Dad threw up in the Captains quarters...Again.

***** ***** *****

Sorry Kaldaka, if I had any open chairs, you both would be more than welcome. If there are any cancellations I will post to this thread. You will get first pick

Last year we played Saturday evening. That works for me again. Let me know if that is a problem. If it is for too many players then we figure out something else.

I'm in for sure. Set phasers for fun!

Excellent! We have our pilot!
That was a nail-biter, we almost had the Captain in the Pilot's seat. That's fine, unless you have to make a turn, or land, or etc...

You all saved/disarmed your ship from blowing up over Canton on Higgins Moon. Which, in turn stopped the Cult of Jayne from causing a 2nd Civil War. Big Dam Heroes.

Don't forget, you are contractually obligated with Blue Sun to keep your traps shut. There was no nuclear device, nor imminent threat of mass destruction.

This next job of delivering a shipment of Pescaline D is possibly boring by comparison. I almost feel bad.

I see we are missing some crew. We will have to start knocking on doors. Start at inexpensive Companion houses, gambling establishments, drug dens and chop shops. Then expand your search.

I'm sure you will find your crew on the first pass.

This is a wave to the crew of the Swift Ox freighter: "Babe."

Blue Sun is impressed with your handling of the "Higgins Moon Incident." Your professionalism and discretion was the talk of the recent Board Meeting. Well done!

We have a job for you, a mission of mercy. This job requires a crew we can trust.

The Mission:

We received a garbled Wave from our mining colony New Salem on Port Chester. It seems a sickness has struck the miners of New Salem and they need immediate help.
However, we were unable to contact the colony for more details. This is not unusual. The Heinlein System is often difficult to reach due to solar flare activity. An unfortunate reality when you orbit a proto-star.

The symptoms mentioned in the Wave point to an outbreak of Bowden's Malady.
We located a supply of Pescaline D on the space-station, Space Bazaar. The Space Bazaar is on the way to Port Chester. Please secure the Pescaline D and proceed to New Salem at your best possible speed.

***** ***** ***** ***** *****

So, who of the original crew are interested in being "Big Damn Heroes?" Let me know so we can determine if there are going to be any open slots.
As before, all materials will be provided.

I'm sending out a wave to the crew of the Swift Ox Class freighter, "Babe." Thank you very much for an awesome game.
Special thanks to my Deputy "mearrin69" for fielding game system questions, for being the dealer, bartender and the Ship's Captain. That freed me up to roleplay the setting and adventure.

How many of the crew played Deadlands before? Zero. How many knew the Firefly setting front and back? None. How many jumped into the game feet first? As if it were a continuing saga we all had been playing together for years? Everyone!
I was awed by the amazing roleplaying, enthusiasm and system comprehension.
Post game, "mearrin69" and I talked about all the positive feedback. So, I know it is a year away... But I think there is enough interest to revisit this crew and their misadventures at the next PaizoCon. I will get to work.

You all were great!

Thank you,

I will be there for Star Frontiers. Dralasite for me please.
SF Minis? I can't wait to see them!
This is going to be a blast!
